Boarders Colorado Springs and Manitou Springs. Owned by a husband/wife who took excellent care of our family while we were there for 6 nights. Everything was super clean and cleaned daily for us, we always had fresh towels and sheets, AND they shoveled snow off our parking spot every day! This is an older vintage type looking place but is very reasonable in price and they are the sweetest people, I stayed there traveling with my family as a kid and it's still awesome! Pikes Peak is your view out the window. If you are looking to shop and do all of the things the city has to offer its the perfect place to stay.
The bed! We stayed in 4 different hotels around colorado and Utah, and the Mel Haven gave me the best sleep. Quiet surroundings at night on top of soft and comfy bed spread with four fluffy pillows. The staff waited for us until we got there and was so warm and friendly. Unlike those over at best western plus *thumbs down* We had a room upstairs, but only had two concerns during my stay. The property is pretty old, so the railing on the staircase was a little unstable and our room door was a little difficult to open after closing. No big deal though. Nothing a wiggle and a push couldn't fix!
Front desk offered to carry my bag to my room. What motel offers that? Clean, in room coffee, convenient, good value.
Very clean, very friendly, great location Motel is showing it's age
Very clean but older decor. Very friendly staff. Would stay again anytime.
Neat motel sitting at the entrance of Manitou Springs. Great views including Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods! Family run, very friendly and courteous. Room was exceptionally clean; bathroom had just been remodeled and the shower worked excellent. Toilet and sink sparkled! Complimentary soaps and face wash. Booked a 1 bed and to our surprise a separate sitting area was included, complete with large dresser and pull out sofa. Sheets were a playful floral pattern but smelled, felt and looked clean, the bed was super comfortable. Also in the room was a large mini fridge with freezer, microwave, coffee pot with coffee, flat screen TV with cable, phone, AC/heat, hair dryer, dining table and desk area. Various stores near by to buy food/liqour. Our room was cleaned each day, fresh towels provided, bed made, coffee refilled. Each room also has adirondack chairs or benches outside doors for relaxing in the great Colorado weather. No questionable stains of the carpets, chairs or linens. No funky smells. No loud noises. Nothing sketchy. Felt safe. Felt homey. Money well spent. No complaints! SUPPORT LOCAL BUSINESS! Bathroom shower/bath towels were a bit small but got the job done. No closet, but there is a rack with provided hangers and suitcase stands. No counter space in bathroom, but a large shelf is there for your toiletries.
It was really clean and very quiet. Very friendly staff. Felt safe.
Fun bicycle festival going on in the lobby area, lodge grounds are large and include grassy area and swimming pool, also a lot of guests sat outside on patios in the evening. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Really like the updates done so far and will stay at Buffalo Lodge again when in the area. Room needed updating and a good carpet scrubbing, but beds were comfortable and sheets nice/cozy, bathroom very clean. Some rooms are already updated so they're making a difference.
Historical and unique hotel close to garden of the gods and manitou springs. Friendly staff and cool casita style rooms. Carpets could be changed, coffee (not just coffee maker) in room.
location, polite staff. no heat, smelled like smoke.
Cute pool, nice staff, guest room bedroom feel Didn't like that the comforter had a bug and caterpillar on it, found two bottle caps behind the night stand, cigarette burn hole in the blanket, and no password given for free wifi
Friendly & helpful staff. Well furnished rooms. Parking lot a little difficult to navigate.
I went and paid the reservation and cancelled minutes later. Didn't receive a refund and the staff were not friendly. THERE WERE NO ROOMS AVAILABLE WE WERE TOLD TO WAIT ABOUT 45 MINUTES. Would not recommend. Front office was holding job interviews at the same time. Big mess.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room was clean. Good access to our second-floor room with multiple options for stairs and parking.
The view of Pikes Peak Not yo sound too spoiled, but there was no breakfast. (Fruit, cereal). However, there was coffee.
I didnt like anything about it...
