The staff was very helpful and our room was very nice I was disappointed that there was no jacuzzi in the suite as promised. That was the only reason we paid extra and there is not one. But overall the staff and the room were very nice.
Parking within hotel grounds, friendly staff The area of Catania - I would not return to Catania
I appreciated a lot the beautifull room: large, with fine fornitures and, overall, a ceiling with original decoration. The staff (Simona and her collegues) was very efficient and polite. If I'll come back to Catania I'll choose Manganelli Palace again
Great accomodation, centrally located with a great breakfast. The staff were lovely and very very helpful always. Would recommend and will stay again.
Very helpful staff available 24 hours. Very quiet given position of our room overlooking a main road. Very safe and secure. Many hotels in same price bracket probably wouldn't compete. Controlling the air conditioning overnight
location and character of rooms
Staff very helpful and friendly. Quite central. They should try to increase in parking facility. If you don't have where to park, then it is impossible to find a parking space in the streets. For a Hotel, with very few parking spaces, located on the 2nd Floor, a small lift, the Hotel is rather expensive. Prices are like a 4 star Hotel in other Italian Cities.
Small hotel with very nice atmosphere. The rooms are beautifully decorated especially the sealings which are hand painted. Friendly staff. Difficult to find parking space
We really liked Manganelli Palace. The central location was perfect to walk around Catania and to take the bus to Aci Castello. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Our room was big with a decoratively painted ceiling. The bathroom was modern and very clean. But what it really made this place outstanding was the staff: Simona, Dario and Danilo. Kind and extremely pleasant, they helped us fully with our travel nightmares (BA and Alitalia), thank you all! We highly recommend this hotel to everyone in search of affordable luxury and individual courtesy.
Welcoming delightful staff and wonderful painted ceilings Cracked mirror in bedroom
The staff was very skilled and able to improvise regarding parking and more. breakfirst fine too.
Beautifully situated in the centre of Cantania with very high standard of rooms
Good central location with highly efficient and professional staff. A few problems re noise from nearby bars on the Saturday night!
Professional, discreet and what any experienced traveller requires, Bravo! Personal, hotel tour guide, facilitator for ones movements around Catania: local consultant...social, cultural and business.
Charmingly decorated, room spacious, staff friendly and helpful, location excellent.
Very friendly staff. Room excellent. Breakfast not too impressive - but italians don't do breakfast like brits.. Location fine for catania sightseeing etc. No. It was good and we would stay again. Really liked the place.
Male front staff service was welcoming and more...
Excellent location, Luigi on the reception desk was exceptionally helpful and even arranged to send on the clothes I'd left to our next hotel in Taormina! We were offered a choice of room and selected a small but well equipped and comfortable room with delightful french windows and balcony. We were on the side of the hotel and this turned out to be quiet. I'd advise you to avoid the front of the hotel at the weekend unless you are going to be out yourself partying late (it's a bit of a gathering place late on in the evening). The breakfast service was not replenished - we went there half an hour before it closed and it was pretty sparse to say the least, but the coffee and croissants were excellent. It's probably best to get their early. Our bathroom was a little on the snug side which may be a problem for some, but then we did have a choice of larger rooms had we wanted them.
Central location, friendly staff, great room.
Very friendly staff, helpful and competent. Breakfast rich and good. Position of hotel is good and room was quiet. I am looking forward to spend my time once more in this hotel.
High quality accomodation More pillows required.
Central location (easy walking distance to historic centre, quiet at night), helpful staff, attractive building
Staff were very freindly and willing to help i.e. they provided me with a map of the town so I could squeeze in some shopping after allday meetings! :o) The decor in the hallway is a bit dark, I guess this could be romantic if travelling in a couple but as a lone Business traveller I always made a dash to my room!
Good location; palatial rooms - great bar with fantastic views Too many electronic hotels on shower, lights, curtains etc that were very confusing and difficicult to use
The room was really beautiful and the buffet breakfast was great - lots of selection and the freshly made coffee really added something. Loved having it out on the terrace too! The bathrooms were also a really nice size and had a great shower. The people at the front desk definitely could have been a little friendlier at some points, and the most friendly one gave us all wrong information for the bus times.
The location the hotel is close to city centre anb walking diatance to many historical monuments, shops and restaurants.
great room, modern facilities in a baroque style design, interesting design of the lobby, great terrace, friendly staff who knows English. a bit noisy due to the passing car, but totally worth the effort.
Terrace bar was very nice and service there was good.
The room was elegant, well designed and extreamly comfortable. The price was dirt cheap for the quality of the hotel (89 euros). The Hotel Royal is on the same level as a 5 star Grand Hotel.
Hotel royal is placed in the prettiest part of Catania. A walk away from piazza duomo and piazza universita and Etna st which has amazing shops. It's the best location in the best price and value for your money. The hotel has a beautiful design, each room is special, very helpful staff and awesome breakfast. We had such a great time and we felt like kings staying there :-)
staff breakfast was very poor and the hotel is rather dark inside.
clean, very close to the city center.. girl at the reception did not speak English at all.. very strange futuristic design, felt myself like in a mental hospital.. poor breakfast..
NIce hotel renewed 2010, nice staff, 5min walk to centrum, amazing value for money rate
The hotel looks very new, nice lobby and remodeled rooms and bathrooms. The room was very small, the location was great, as long as you walk left when you get out of the hotel (if you go right you'll find lots of hookers, waiting, sitting on plastic chairs, i'm not joking). Great restaurants within 1 block, friendly staff.
The staff is so kind, the building wonderfuly renoved! I had an upgraded room!
This hotel is a good surprise. According to international standards, it is a real *** hotel. According to Sicilian standards it is much more than the usual *** hotel. The personnel provides very good advices: for visiting the country, for visiting the city, for restaurants... The localization is perfect to go to center town. It is also perfect to circulate in and around Catania (taking into account the local driving way). Rooms are very large. Parking is in the street. It is recommended to ask the personnel to survey the car, but also to help to pay the parking during the day (they are very gentle also for that). It could have been a very good place for families... except that the hotel is located in the border of a desperate area where pitch are operating. A very "glàuco" part of the city (no trouble coming from it for adults).
Nice design, new furnitures. The breakfast was extremely disappointing, the served us three tiny (3 cm diameter) bread slices and some crackers. Far from being enugh considering that it is a 4 star hotel. Air conditionning was inexistant in the public areas outside the hall.
very big room with big top and good terrace for breakfast Very noisily. Drunk people bawled all nighk. Very bad noise insulation is in the hotel.
An ancient bulding in the city center, 3 minutes walking from the main square of Catania. Pleasant staff and free parking. If you want to stay for a 1-2 days , enjoy the city and save money - Hotel "Biscari" is one that you need. Noise from the street.
Wonderfull good preserved palace of XVIII century. Just in the historical center and in 300 m from the Borsellino bus station (buses from and to airport, to almost all large cities of Sicilia), 150 m to splendid Teatro Massimo. Terrace with the view to the sea and to green courtyards. We received clean large room (No.4) of 50 sq.m with stucco moulding ceiling of 5 m high and two balconies - to small lane 'via Anzalone' and to 'via Vittorio Emmanuele II'. This street is very busy but closed shutters on balcony's door and door-curtains are good soundproofing. It was guite suitably for us. There is restaurant-pizzeria on the ground floor of this building and small mini-market opposite. Only one disadvantage - lack of elevator. It is important for seniors and families with baby carriage
Good value for money in Catania city center - big and clean rooms, nice breakfast, friendly staff Two problematic points: the hotel is on a main road, so some of the rooms can be a bit noisy (Catania bus traffic is quite heavy, but the hotel is on the 3rd floor so it's not very bad). the second point is that the hotel is located on the 3rd floor of the building and there's no elevator.
very nice people! very very kind! too many stairs..:)
Breakfast not served in hotel meagre choice. Dirty very small shower room. Very hard beds, pillows like bricks.
Location was perfect for city sights and walks. Lack of breakfast in the hotel.
convenient location no elevator (when luggages are heavy)
Great location in the centre of Catania overlooking Plaza Duomo. Noisy during the day......not a problem as we weren't there! 3 mins walk to the bus station to/from the airport. Minor point - no kettle for hot beverages in the room.....is that common in Italy?
Its location. We were given a room on the very top and it was tiring as there were many steps to go up.
Central location. Booking.com incorrect appearance of the page.Taormina hostels appeared, it was only 43 km between the two place. No lift. Narrow corridors. Terrible traffic.
Hotel location was excellent, right in front of Duomo. Room was spacious. Staircase a bit difficult to manage with luggage. Luckily receptionist offered to have my luggage taken up.
great location on the piazza duomo, beside the fish market and at the foot of via etnea. you cannot get any more sicilian. only downside of the location is the noise of the adjacent streets since the piazza is very busy
The location is great. The showers are too small.
