The location was perfect for business and the taxi service to and from the airport provided by the hotel is fantastic. The rooms are a good size and the staff are friendly, helpful and speak english which is very helpful.
music in the bar was very very good, hotel was not crowded as it was in financial district ..breakfast buffet was very good
I didn't like anything .. Will not recommend it to anyone. Not a good neighborhood. Hard to get taxis. Very expensive breakfast buffet. Dirty rooms.
I thought the Holiday Inn at Plaza Central Beijing was outstanding on every level. Especially the service. We stayed at several others during our China stay (some of which actually cost more) and found this hotel FAR superior. We felt as though the staff genuinely tried to assist us and were charming and friendly. I also really enjoyed the afternoon tea and drinks (executive benefits). The staff went out of their way to accommodate our very active 3 year old son.
The bed. The buffet breakfast. The service. The location was incorrect on the map. We got the deluxe package and didn't get the free snacks/beverages.
The concierge staff was especially helpful.
This hotel offers the best breakfast bar I have ever been to.
The buffet wad excellent! The Spa (didn't like the place) and the pool was cold
I stayed only one night because of the misinformation I got about the location! its location
We loved the service, the superb breakfast, the pool, the luxurious layout...probably the best hotel I have ever stayed at! It was a wonderful introduction to China and a gracious and hospitable people!
The map provided to guests for the most historical or shopping places they would probably like to visit. It was also helpful for non-Chinese speakers, to show taxi drivers where to go and how to come back to the hotel. I believe my non-smoking room was not too far from a smoker's room. From time to time, I smelled cigarette, which I do not like.
Very comfortable hotel and reasonably well located.
Excellent hotel, great service
Hotel had excellent facilities and lacked nothing. The only problem was with the air-conditioning which wasn't working & due to the heating we were uncomfortable else everything from service to staff was very good. The absence of proper air-conditioning was the only problem.
hotel staff very helpful
Very handy to shopping and close to the square, safe area, internet in english, meals area very good. No
Good Beijing location, get better map of immediate area.
Great location, 10 minute walk to amazing shopping, 20 minutes to Tianamen Square and Forbidden City. Excellent, friendly English speaking staff.
The most comfortable matress in Beijing! Poor menu, you relied on the Buffet. Whilst the buffet was of a satisfactory standard, we expected a hotel of this standard to impress with a much more diverse menu and present a complex fusion of east verse west food. Overall the menu was bland and what you would expect at a below average cafe in Australia.
Very good value for money. Central location. Clean rooms.
staff was very helpful and polite; air condition worked well; good location staff didn't speak english well; the fourniture needs renovation; the bathroom was cleaned every day buy the carpet wasn`t
All very nice, perfect staff, perfect room and excellent situation.
Good situation for a short stay in Beijing, only few minutes from the line 1 subway Bathroom decoration looks very old, compared to other chinese hotels
I like the location the best. The size of the queen bed is very small. The bathroom did not seem to be very clean.
The hotel had a tour booking kiosk which was hassle free. The breakfast was fair to good. Just outside the hotel is a subway station which made commuting easy. Free broadband internet access is a plus. My wife and I had room service and their late night menu items was surprisingly good. The room was spacious and had both a shower and bathtub. I don't mean to be arrogant but the staff doesn't speak english well and I can't speak Mandarin. We had confusion on more than a few occasions.
Grand Metropark Yuantong Hotel Beijing is really excelent feelings to stay. Anyone can choose this hotel. Hotel staffs are very good and cooperative. Big room, max. comfort brings a very good mood. Dilip Tel: +8801713030291 no
underground just beside the hotel easy to connect airport express train to international airport. difficulty to get taxi especially in evening.
Its value.Staff. Location Buffet Cleanness. I found a worm in the salad
I relocated the Grand Metropark after a very bad experience at another hotel the previous night. It was like two different worlds. The hotel of amongst the very best I've stayed. This includes all brands from Marriott, Hilton, to name a few. The staff was excellent, and plus spoke better than average english. As with most travels from the states our patience is not the best when traveling abroad, we forget that the rest of the world does not revolve around us as i have observed. the staff especially Cindy Liu. The only negative would have to be the selection of food choices. Once again being from the states one most keep in mind that local cuisine does dominate the menus in the cafes, and restaurants. The saving grace was the local KFC, and pizzahut. A true experience that your palate must explore,
Room size was good. not too many restaurants located nearby
The only thing I liked about the hotel was the furnishings in the hotel in general. The address of the hotel is wrong but I will expand on this. A lot!!! the staff do not speak very good English but this is entirely due to poor management. The staff could cope with our questions.
Rooms are comfortable and clean. Hotel is situated near shoping center and supermarket. Nice lobby bar with live musik. Situated a little bit far from the places of interest and from U-station.
Rooms were wonderfully furnished and the staff was extremely courteous and helpful. The morning buffet was great!

Value of money, good service.
Commodious rooms, quick services, excellent room cleanliness Heating system is very poor. Windows are very thin and in cold weather it's very cold inside the room. Far from cite center
The Hotel is comfortable, very clean, staff is friendly, near the hotel are supermarket, shopping center and stop of publik transport. The hotel is far away from metro and center of the city, about 30 min by taxi.
Good Services, Friendly Staffs, Comfortable Room.
It is an absolutely luxurous hotel and everything you want they will organise. The hotel is placed in the middle of nowhere, there is nothing to do there and it is very far from the nearst metro station.
fantastic luxury and clean room, very good taste of the food , nice and helpfull manager to start speak english everybody not only some of them, more choises for the room services would be nice especial the night time
Particularly friendly reception desk and the staff over there were perfect. The water tank in the toilet was not working at all and I changed my room
Great staff, great location downtown, clean and well laid out room. No
Restaurant choices and Convenience
every one of your staff telling hello communication(english) for example getting potto chips pocket understanding took 15 min.
The swimmingpool was a hit as we travelled with children. The service level was very good and the location was perfect for most sights. The too expensive breakfast as it was not included in the room rate.
As a solo white traveler who only speaks English, china has been full of scammers, willing to tell you anything for money. To the unfortunate extent that if I notice somebody is giving me help unconditionally, I know something is wrong (even if they are a government worker!). At holiday inn downtown Beijing, I found respite from this. The staff was helpful, friendly, and spoke enough English to communicate without trouble. These simple things made a huge difference for me. They helped with taxis, tourist sites, laundry, and had nice service for meals. Room was quite nice as well.
Very helpful staff, perfact cleaniness, very good food, safetiness okay, Hotel very central located. Internet very expensive to use, I cannot understand why I had to pay deposit when I had my accomodation payed in full
we like that everything was new, the hotel looks opened yesterday, the room was very good, with everything that you can need, coffee maker, hair dryer, slippers, soap, gels and so on, so on..... The subway is 10 mins walking and you also have a big market there for shopping we didn´t like that even if you put the tag "don´t disturb" they disturb!! they call to the door or call to the phone and ask "can we clean the room?" of course they wake you up..... they did it during 5 days, somebody should explain the meaning of "don´t disturb". Another negative thing is the level of english of the staff ufffffff you need to pay lot of attention or you will not understand anything je je (but they are friendly)
Comfortable bed quiet and clean. close to market and shops Some Restaurant food unpalatable
services around the hotel Location. Too far from city attractions
The offer of complimentary beer, and a much more acceptable european breakfast than at other four star hotel we stayed in. Very helpful advice by the reception staff Only a dressing table stool provided but no chairs
We arrived at mid night Hotel gave us very worm received. Beakfast is excellent. Nothing
The staff were the best asset The rooms were very small as were the bathrooms, shower right next to toilet. The breakfast very poor.
the hotel has a good location, but the room is so small. the smell of the room
cleaning up and cleanness in a hotel was at due level a bathroom dissatisfied our requirements
Staff spoke good English which is always helpful. They were able to book airline tickets for me at a reasonable price. And the cost of the accomodation was reasonable. Close to train station so that is helpful. The beds were incredibly uncomfortable and the duvet was not big enough for 2 people to share.
Friendly and informative staff, walking distance from subway station, drum/bell tower and other interesting sights, $32 per night!!! Bathroom smell, Breakfast could be better.
Located in a genuin part of old Beijing Bad smell at the bathroom
Location is good, but the hotel is obviously not a 3* star. My booked room was no longer available at late check-in, only one dirty room left, but clearly cats had pissed in there (indeed pets are allowed and free of charge). Upon calling staff, they pretended the smell came from the bathroom, and flushed the toilet once more. Next day to originally booked 'deluxe' room, also cats there, but less intense smell. The place is dirty. .At least check your room before you pay.
Good rooms, good hotel, near the metro station. Cerca del metro, buena habitacion y todo ok en general Is not in a real hutong, is a hutong for tourists, anyway is better than staying in a hotel in a shoping area of Beijing. No esta en un hutong de verdad, es un hutong de turistas pero es mejor que quedarse en un centro comercial.
Good priced tourist hotel, value for money, Receptionists need to be much more responsive, friendly and helpful. I have seen better. Not a single service staff around the cafe greeted the guests.
Not big, but clean and nice rooms, all basic equipment in place (Sat TV, A/C, hair dryer, free Internet connection in the room + Internet cafe on 2nd floor, etc.). Definiteley worth the money spent. Neighbourhood of hotel is not nice (poor district), but very easy to catch the taxi (waiting time 1-2 minutes). And 1 really fantastic thing: Beijing guide they give to guest. Something like 20 most important attractions in Beijing shown clearly on the map, with brief descriptions, opening time and address in Chinese (you can show to taxi driver - and he will bring you there) + subway map. Small and efficient - helped me a lot to see many things quickly in Beijing. Hard to find something negative - of course it's not 5-star hotel - but taking into account money spent it was really good. The only 2 a bit negative things are: (1) breakfast could be more european (majority of visitors were Westeners), (2) external appearance could be better
Not too far from things we were interested in. Comfy beds. Shower gel wasn't replaced
Breakfast and internetsupplies in hotel Long distance to metrostation
Taxi driver couldn't find the hotel easily.
Quite near to Temple of Heaven, 15m by walking. The hotel is not near to the subway station, taking bus is not easy, taxi is the only way. Clean room, we had internet problem, but was fixed soon. The breakfast should be managed better by hotel staff.
Air conditioning have no cooling option at rooms.
- Extremely cheap price for dorm living (and good prices for the regular rooms) right in the heart of Qianmen. Two minutes from the main walking street in Qianmen (with some western-style food as long as sort of a Disney version of Hutong life), a short walk to Qianmen subway, walkable to everything in and around Tian'anmen Square, not too far from the Temple of Heaven. - Really cool looking lobby areas. - Comfy bar with cheap Tsingtao, wifi, charging outlets. Didn't eat the food but it looked ok. Good place to unwind after a long, hot day in Beijing. - Really friendly staff though some had zero English and others were a bit limited. - The dorm room was pretty bare bones. Nice aircon but it was strangely in the little sitting room rather than the sleeping area so had to really work to keep things cool. - Shared bathrooms were typical Chinese squat toilets. If you're not used to these and have trouble using them, you should find your way to some of the coffee shops on Qianmen Street that have western-style toilets. - Not much at all in the way of housekeeping once you're checked in. - The actual hutong the hotel is on is somewhat seedy - some weird sex shops and brothels along there. Didn't seem dangerous, really, but I'm not sure I'd want to bring a family down a street like that regularly.
Comfortable, Western-style beds, clean and functioning Western-style bathrooms (where the entire bathroom does NOT convert into a shower), and close proximity to central Beijing, subways, and general walkability were our priorities. This hotel hit them all, and also managed to be a great value compared to hotels. I'd say the amenities were on par with maybe the top 1/4 tier of Western chain hotels, but the price was that of a middle tier Chinese hotel. The friendly and helpful staff (many of whom speak English) and cultural aspect was a bonus as well. The rooms are on the smaller side; they definitely fall under the "boutique" category, but the bed and bathrooms were all very large and comfortable, so we didn't mind the lack of "common" space. You're not able to control the air conditioning, but we found the temperature comfortable. Bear in mind that, as an energy saving measure, you need a hotel key card to turn the power on in the room, so you can't, for instance, leave something charging all day while you're out.
the location, the friendly staff difficult to get taxis from the hotel
Nice Chinese atmosphere and classic courtyard architecture. Nice secluded garden. Can rent bikes.
the rooms have old chinese style furniture, the garden is beautiful and the location is convenient, very near the subway station.
Hotel exceeded my expectaions by a long shot, it was a beautiful hotel and was pretty much centrally located to all the major tourist areas, the summer palace, the forbidden city and tiananmen square, and it was also very close to major streets in Beijing. The nice thing was that it was not located on a heavily occupied street but it was in a very nice part of town. Of all the beds in China they had the most american like and the room had the homiest feel to it. Of the six or so hotels we stayed at it was my favorite
