very handy for the sites, close to airport bus & metro breakfast was good The carpets in the hallways were stained, as was the room plus the curtains were marked,
Great location, friendly environment overcharge for late check out
Clean room, no noises around, very good bathroom, comfortable bed, tasty breakfast...In general i'm satisfied There was no window at my room that should open. Only one which was locked, so no fresh air from outside in. There was no wireless internet above third floor, only wired. A staff member told me that the internet wasn't free (actually it was), after a while he came to correct his statement but never apologized. I used the PC at the lobby.
I liked the location of the hotel which was pretty easy to all transportation, within the commercial center and shops but also very quiet and peacefull to the well known and noisy Athens. Personel was very polite and always ready to answer or help at any querries. I dont have anyting that I didnt like except the room which was at the back and there was no actual view
the location and value for money and staff
That it was so near the center and the metro station It should be a fitness center there
Location, very good food for room service Poor breakfast, deteriorating with time... Difficult to order room service
The staff were very attentive, especially in the restaurant. The choice of food at breakfast was excellent. This hotel offers really good value for money, and its location is perfect for business people, shopping and sight seeing. Best of all, the hotel is within easy reach of the Plaka and Monastiraki. The bath is far too small, even for petite guests! The fittings in the bath do not allow for any room to wash yourself. Otherwise, a nice bathroom.
- great location: next to Syntagma square, all the main tourist places are within walking distance - great breakfast: very good variety of savoury and sweet dishes, - Nice, large, clean and comfortable room: room and hotel are well maintained - we booked a double room and added "double bed" in our request, but for some reason, it was not communicated to the hotel (too many intermediary agents?) - so we were given twin room. The hotel was full and couldn't change our room. Make sure to email the hotel directly after booking!
The location cannot be beat. You are right in the middle of most of the main attractions. The breakfast is very good. The shower was a bit small in my room, and the bed was a little too firm, but other than that it wa an excellent hotel.
the location was ideal, our room had a magnificent view & the room was a great size and very comfortable nothing
Comfort of rooms. The soft mattress was appreciated! Also their willingness to accomadate our late check out. Front desk personnel were not particularly friendly in person. Prices for breakfast and laundry service were outrageous. Cost for pressing should of been complimentary since no iron provided in the room.
Good value for money ,excellent location, frienly staff no
Location is central and the balcony of our room gave views of Syntagma, the Parliament building and the Parthenon. Short walk to excellent Benaki Museum and roof-top restaurant, Theocharakis Foundation and first-floor cafe, Numismatic Museum (Schliemann's house) and cafe, fashionable Kolonaki and funicular to Mt Lycabettus. Close to Get-on Get-off city tour bus. Handy for shops and restaurants.
Location Street side rooms are very noisy from vehicle traffic
The location of the hotel is perfect, very much in the city center and able to go every where walking. External noises: the isolation of the rooms is not very good and therefore during the night we could hear the external noises.
Very nice place located in the heart of the city with a good value. The staff was always there to help and made excellent recommendations for our stay. Would've loved to have a single queen bed in stead of two twins but this is not that unusual in Greece.
Location, friendly staff Walls are not well isolated
very classy, comfortable, elegant the closets need more hangers
The rooms are big and the location is great next to shopping and restaurants. Nothing
Loved the elegance of the hotel, service and roof top dining. Nothing, just perfect!
Room is well appointed and very comedienne. Staff is friendly and helpful. A beautiful well decorated old hotel with modern conveniences. Service in restaurants was a little sporatic. Water pressure in shower a little weak. No check out on TV, and in person checkout was slow.
Fantastic foyer, great roof top garden restaurant, luxurious.
the service and rooms were all exactly as advertised this is truelly a 5 star hotel.
Excellent service, good location, excellent spa & fitness center. Nothing
Very pleasant and knowledgeable concierge We didn't like the room first provided but after complaining received smaller but with much better view. Why not to provide the better room initially?
The comfort and service were of the highest quality. We enjoyed our stay, and were made to feel welcome. The food and beverage prices were extremely high, so we availed ourselves of these to the very minimum!
The hotel as name suggests was very Grand the design was very beautiful
Location is very nice.
close vicinity to all sights
Location of hotel
Location is superb. Breakfast is ok and the view from the breakfast room is the best! Astor is very cosy and comfortable, easy. Nice bar. Hotel Astor has no environmental programme, or at least nothing such was visible. Service in the breakfast room was quite slow (cleaning the tables, filling up the cheese trays etc.).
The location was really great and it was easy to get anywhere we wanted to go. There were really loud college kids running around at 4 in the morning which made it difficult to sleep.
The beautiful view and location. The restaurant in the roof was bad. The vegetables atbreakfast were not fresh at all. And in the evening the food I ordered was not tasty. The waitress was sweet and kind.
Great view of Acropolis from breakfast room. Breakfast was very generous. Single rooms have no view. Window is opaque and when opened revealed a wall a few feet away.
The friendly, helpful response of staff and the wonderful view of the citymade it all work. The Bar could use some work as far as liquor available. And the breakfast seating was limited--but that was the fault of the birds. Great breakfast. Not great dinner--we should have gone out.
Location, room size Street noise
Great location, nice room, polite and helpful staff. Great view to Acropolis and Athens from roof restaurant!
The location was perfect for us The small towel in my bath was a rag-- torn edges all around. i expected better quality.
Location is good, only!
The view at the hotel's restaurant is simply wonderful.. I think this maybe the highest point in Athens! While having breakfast you could see the Acropolis & almost all of Athens, the restaurant also has a terrace where you could enjoy your morning coffee & cigarette with a marvelous view :) I like my hotels to have a 24 hours of room service. Or at least fill the minbar in the room with water!
The location is the main advantage of the hotel. I didn't like the small bathroom in which it was difficult to move.
Location, comfort, cleanliness and value for money
fine location, in the middle of shopping center. breakfast was excellent.staff willing to help. cleaning service was excellent no terrace restaurant
location, staff, and enviornment
Very convenient location, very comfortable.
Excellent location, at 2 minutes walk from stop of X95 bus from airport; around corner from Akropolis. Good room, friendly staff, great breakfeast No complaints
Room was tiny, bathroom was tiny, staff was incredibly rude. Make sure you state the number of guests (e.g., 2) and not just that you need one bed or they will try to give you twin bed.
The views from the rooftop bar were gorgeous. Breakfast spread was excellent
Friendly, courteous, helpful staff, great location, clean, attractive facility
Excellent customer service, modern and spacious room I will definitely come back and stay with Electra.
good location One staff in reciption was not polite in giving info about additional taxes and wanted me to just sign the credit card bill quickly!
Location is good, close to Metro and bus stop for airport bus Hotel is of one to two star quallity only. Bathroom door cannot be closed, no electric socket, room smelled, toilet was dirty
location kind of warm in the room during the day. No A/C in April.
We stayed for 2 single nights, on both end of our sailing charter out of Athens. The staff was helpful and the location was good for walking to sites like the Acropolis. The room was not fancy, but was clean and the breakfast was good. If you're high enough, and on the street side of the building, you can even get a view of the Acropolis. Great value for a 2 Star.
We loved the hotel Arethusa. It was in a superb location, convenient for every where. The staff were very helpful and the breakfasts were lovely. Very good value for money. The beds were a little hard. Our room had floor to ceiling windows directly opposite an office block about 30 feet away. The windows did not have nets and I am not sure whether we or the office workers were more surprised by our appearances in the nude.
Cannot beat the location, right off Syntagma Square Functional Very good breakfast Great view from the roof 150 yards from X95 bus to airport Shower head constantly leaked Rental lockers were difficult to access and use No view out window Bathroom and room were cramped Only one outlet available in room In and out of elevator was tough with luggage
Excellent location, friendly staff The room needs renovation, especially the furnitures. Room 509 was noisy when the window was open. I didn't like the coffee and the orange juice, the rest of the breakfast was ok.
The excellent location, close to the parliament square and the subway stations and various shopping and dinning options within walking steps The furnitures inside the room are not function well
good location near metro stop, complementary breakfast ok rooms face main street and without AC switched on it was necessary to open windows- very noisy all night long, very small bathroom/shower.
the location and breakfast although the breakfast could have changed over a week stay it was difficult to regulate he heat The bathroom was small and he shower was tiny
Location Everithing. The olny thing it has, is the location. The rest is unbelievable. The shower broken, no A/C, they didn´t allowed us to take one towel to de beach!!!!, breakfast horrible.
central to everything
No kettle / coffee maker in room. First room very very small and bed was two singles pushed together. I fell between the two !
Great shower head, and super water pressure. Breakfast was great with view of the ruins. Our room faced a courtyard with trash in it.
The kind staff, cleanliness of the hotel and the design/decor.
Location was good. Expensive for the value.
Fantastic restaurant £40 for breakfast for 2. And we only had cereal!!!
Nice rooms, nice breakfast, helpfull staff, not too big.
Exceptional hotel and service. The staff went an "extra mile" to make sure that our stay would be great. Thank you!
it was amazing,excellent,very clean
The design and quality of the room was wonderful.i liked a lot the lighting and the bathroom. i didn't like that instead of a queen bed there were two separated beds and the thing that there was an inside door that was separating my room from the next one,so i could hear the other persons talking.
The rooms were amazing!!!
very good location in the center of Athens
small poorly designed bathroom
The location Hotel staff was not very helpful
Simplicity and grat location
convenience, accessibility. no hot water bottle, no specific instruction about the central market or other visit suggestions at the front desk. Staff courtesy can be improved.
i always choose room 604 because I can look at the parthenon of which I adore. the curtains ar very dirty and the curtains extr. dirty.they need renovation
Great location of hotel
Breakfast. Excellent location couldn't have been better. Very clean Room kind of small. Small bathroom. But very clean. Nice staff.
central position no
the friendliness of the staff as well as the location (in the center of Athens)
very easy walk to the acropolis, nice view of the acropolis from our balcony, good buffet breakfast included in price, very helpful staff.
Central location. The new rooms. The old lower standard room.
The helpful and friendly staff, the air conditioning, the internet availability, the cafe Explanation card of the electrical power usage and turning on the television and air conditioning unit for foreigners like me would have been nice.
Good area near lots of restaurants and major sites. Hotel is very basic with very small rooms. Good to rest and shower but far from luxury. Basic tourist level 2/3 star spot. AC was very good. Towels need an upgrade. Very thin and overused. Bed was very hard and small.
Very close to plaka
It was a cheap stay for 1 night during transit. The location was great and it was easy to be able to walk to all the sites in Athens downtown (i.e. Syntgama square, Monisteraki market and Plaka). Breakfast was good and starts early. I am a vegetarian and I had few options but plenty like fruits, cereals, bread and some dessert. They have juice, coffee and tea. For meat eaters, they had lots of options like eggs, some cured meats, fish, omelette, etc. The carpets were outdated and looked overused. The bathroom was too small and compact. Had a stuffy smell in the room which I guess was because of old carpet.
The Internet connection was very comfortable to use. The noise, eraly in the mornings, at about 04:00.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. Perfect location. Very clean room + bathroom Breakfast could be improved adding some fresh fruit/vegetables. In my room the wi-fi signal was very weak, but working. Small bathroom
The hotel's location is perfect just a few minutes walk from Syntagma Square - bus (Euro3.20) and train (Euro5) from the airport take you there. You are situated within walking distance of all the major tourist sites that you will want to visit. Syntagma is the hub for the Athens transport system which makes it easy to go to all other areas in Athens including the train to Port Pireas if you want to go to one or more of the Islands. A 7 day ticket for all public transport (tram, bus, train) costs Euro10 and is great value. So many places to eat around that part of the city and English is readily spoken. The hotel rooms are typical in European size (small) but a far higher quality than most you experience in Europe - true 3+star rating. Breakfast is good value and provided over a 2.5hrs period. The cleaniness of the hotel was all that you could desire. The only negative feature is a shower designed without side walls or curtain which gets the floor extreamly wet after use - you need all the towels provided to mop up . TV is all Greek with the exception of CNN (there is only so much you can take of CNN!!!) and CH 5 with an English movie accompanied with Greek subtitles each night. Would be the first hotel we would go back to if visiting Athens again. Excellent in value and location. If only the rest of Europe's hotels were like the Amazon.
The rooms were maintained to a very high standard, and the housekeeping was spot on. The shower fixture was mounted at waist-height which wasn't the most practical.
The staff was excellent & extremely helpful, we were given a room with a view of Acropolis, every day the room was cleaned and the breakfast though basic was ample! The only thing that could be improved is soundproofing in the room as you could ,at times, hear someone moving outside.
Everything was excellent. Good room, clean, airconditioning, movies etc The staff were really helpful. Location wass perfect.
Location, accessibility to public transportation, especially if you need to early check in your morning flight (before 6:00am).
Free wi-fi, the friendly personal Very small rooms.
Great location and great air conditioning! especially in the 40 degree heat of Athens
The hotel is very handy for most of the tourist sites and we were able to walk to all of them except for the National Archaeological Museum. The metro from the airport stops at Syntagma Square which is 300m from the hotel. Very good breakfast including squeeze-it-yourself fresh orange juice. The hotel is newly-opened and lacks some finishing touches eg towel rails. The lift broke down twice in 2 days.
The staff were very helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were attractive and modern. Our electric outlets didn't work with the converters we brought with us.
The hotel is brand-new, located just a few hundred meters away from the Constitution square, furnished with all amenities someone may need, airconditioning is not centralized which makes is much more comfortable; also, there is a sauna in the bathroom. The personnel was very kind and took care of all my requests, the breakfast was delicious and healthy. I will surely consider returing to this hotel for my future trips in Greece.
It is a new and extremely comfortable hotel! It is located one block from Syntagma, which means excellent location! The breakfast was fabulous... freshly squeezed juices, poached eggs, tiropitas and spanakopitas, great selection of cold cuts... Great stuff, very friendly! I strongly recommend this hotel!
The hotel is wonderfully sited and reflects a modern and contemporary design. The plumbing ,while ultra modern was complex and we found the shower difficult to use.
Everything was excellent Nothing
Only the room was something to like. all around builders, electricians and other workers were still working to finish the hotel. the service was poor, and the noise was something i will never forget. The personell was not trained to do their jobs and i could not have a cup of coffee after the end of breakfast. (imagine its a 4star hotel!) The noise and the builders and workers outside my door.
This hotel is near Syntagma. Two fun wine bars are nearby and the historic sites are easily reached on foot. The metro stop is across the square. Clean, polite and hospitable. Thanks to the staff for a great stay. I wish I had extra days to extend my stay.
the location of the hotel is excellent breakfast what very poor, standard for the 4stars hotel, the lady for the breakfast was not polite and the shower cabin didn't have the door
The location of the hotel was perfect, the room was very modern although needed a few minor repairs, e.g. panel in bathroom but overall I was very pleased with the the room. Staff were very helpful and friendly. I liked everything during my stay at Athens Diamond Hotel
Decoration in the room, big bed, breakfast.
I loved that the hotel was two blocks from Syntagma square - which is a main centre of town. There are many shops and restaurants nearby and it is walking distance from the Acropolis. The linens were generally clean and we had adequate lighting. The room smelled like smokers had stayed there before us. Athens smells like that overall but I was hoping we'd have a hotel that would relieve us of the smell of cigarettes. We decided not to shower there as well because the shower head had calcium buildup on it and we didn't want to irritate our skin with the water. We were only there one night so it was fine, but I could imagine this being terrible for some one with an extended stay.
Great room, great location, great price. I was knocking on the door at 11 pm and no one would answer. I had no idea that the reception was in another building across the street.
Celebrating a big anniversary with 2 days in Athens before a Mediterranean cruise in July 2016. This was the perfect place to stay and see the city. 50 Euro flat fee for taxi from the airport. 40 Euro taxi fee to the cruise terminal from hotel. Taxi stand was just 25 meters from front door with at least 10 taxis waiting for fares. The hotel was also a short walk to public transit and the Acropolis complex of historic museums and grounds. Restaurants, coffee shops, bars and shopping are all around you. Very safe neighborhood. The breakfast offered an excellent variety of hot and cold meats, eggs, cheeses, pastries, fruit. Fresh squeezed orange juice was excellent. Loved the stylish decor in our room, halls and elevators. Linens were very nice. Friendly helpful staff. It took me a minute to figure out the 5 different valves on our shower and the water wasn't instantly hot when we arrived in early afternoon. Some water leaked out of the shower onto the bathroom floor. No view from our window but I would expect to pay more for that feature. Bar of soap was too small.
Good place overall. Central location. Breakfast is fantastic and gets your day started right! Room is a typical small European room, but I found the space adequate. Staff is friendly and helpful, and they gave me some useful tips for things to do. One thing I noticed was a small play area for children, but the hotel seemed to be adults only during my stay. Hotel is tastefully decorated. I was happy with my stay. Bathroom is a typical small European style, and like most Americans, I got water all over when I showered. Also don't open the windows at night or you'll get bit up by mosquitos.
The fact that its located in the heart of Athens The room for 3 people to stay in was a bit too small. They need to make more big rooms to accomodate 3 and 4 people
The staff were extremely helpful and friendly, esp when I was extremely jet lagged. The room was clean and comfortable. Location was excellent. Wish we could have stayed longer than 24 hours! Typical European room, Spartan and simple. Wifi in Greece weak almost everywhere, so lower your expectations regarding device connectivity, not hotel's fault. Everything was terrific
centrally located,helpful friendly staff,nice room
The Complimentary wine was excellent as we enjoyed our balcony. The rooms were clean and the lady at the desk was friendly. The grumpy man at the front desk.
Hotel receptionists speak perfect English. The guest services specialist, Eva, was extremely helpful each morning. Breakfast was fantastic. Rooms were very clean, and were updated. Shower was reasonably sized, compared to the majority of Greek hotels. Superior location in north Plaka. Wireless internet is not very good.
Quiet room, close to the center of Athens Missing stair rail between ground and next floor
Clean room and very close to the heart of the city. great place to stay for a quick vacation trip
Location, breakfast, nice balcony Internet was not working for most of the time. Room needs an update.
Location extremely convenient. Staff friendly, polite and helpful. Room adequate size and well designed, clean, very clean!. Excellent breakfast, good value for money, we have booked to stay there again. Nothing
This hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms were modern, clean, and quiet. The bathroom was updated and beautiful. Even the toiletries that were provided were quality. There is a rooftop terrace with a great view of the Acropolis and their sister hotel which is a few blocks away also has a rooftop terrace with a bar with the best view of the Acropolis. The breakfast was included in the price and was by far the best part. There was food to please every nationality of traveler. There was even a gluten free section. I would definitely stay here again if I ever return to Athens. There was some confusion when checking in regarding how many people were staying in the room so make sure you make this information very clear when making the initial reservation.
