5.0 Okay
Pros: Grounds are beautiful
Cons: Property is in need of a renovation and not a good value for money.
6.3 Good
Pros: The building and location are wonderfull. Also people in in the area are most friendly. The Spa of the hotel is small but has everything you need!
Cons: Poor service from reception. Dinner in the restaurant was not possible as it was fully booked and closed the next day. Room 116 is outdated, AC works but has a minimum capacity and is too loud! It is impossible to sleep with the AC on. Breakfast is OK for the price you are paying.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Peaceful and quiet, lovely surroundings.
Cons: Dogs were allowed
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place with old houses, lovely Catholic Church and good swimming pool and saunas!
Cons: Rooms need blind curtains as it’s really difficult to sleep with a lot of light coming through!! Also the bells of the church are nice but they can wake you up very early! Not a good cleaning as they never vacuum the floor... not nice with kinds!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful ambiance, good beds, lots of nature.
Cons: Rooms not as modern as i’d expect but overall very very nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, rooms, facilities, restaurants (including breakfast) and beautiful park.
Cons: Staff on the reception on the arrival was terrible. They even didn’t offer to help with luggage, to show the way to the room (which is not so easy to find in this hotel, especially with luggage in hands). No help with car parking inside the hotel. Also I asked in one month in advance about late checkout, because I have 3 small kids. I need to check out between 1-2 pm (kids should wait for us there). Despite that check-in time at 3 pm - manager of the hotel refused me even taking into account that I was the regular guest of this hotel and stay in suite.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good breakfast , good bed. Kitchen very good
Cons: Price too high for such room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our little townhouse apartment was lovely. Our children really enjoyed exploring the grounds and the pool. The food and service were excellent.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice chateau in the country side. Very large comfortable King bed. Every morning I woke up sideways without falling out. Complementary mini bar in th the room. Wonderful swimming pool and wellness center. Great meeting room facilities and catering. I dined in Bistrot de Liège twice and had a wonderful experience.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice area, good restaurant and bistro, very friendly staff, good swimmingpool, free minibar
Cons: Noisy, rooms are with floor tiles so every movement of chairs you hear from your neighbours. In addition apparently dogs are allowed and we had dogs above and next to us that barked if they hear somebody pass by. So even if the surroundings and rooms were ok, we did not get the peace and quiet that we were looking and paying for.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly and very helpful staff. Facility was clean and comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We come to Valkenburg every year for the Midsummer Prog Festival and it’s our second stay at the Hotel Lela. This time we had my in-laws with us. It really is a home from home. The location is perfect, a stone’s throw from the Openluchttheatre where the festival is held but away from the busy main streets. Denise is the most friendly and welcoming host, nothing is too much trouble! My father in law had bought a belt which was too loose and Denise’s father made a new hole for it. We had forgotten suncream and Denise brought us some to put on before we went out. Just a couple of examples of how she goes above and beyond to ensure the comfort of guests! Breakfast in the morning on the pretty terrace in front of the hotel was a particular highlight. Most of all, my in-laws loved it! We will be back next year.
Cons: Nothing not to love!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Localization near the city center. Friendly and helpful staff. Tipical family hotel.
Cons: The beds should have better (or more) pillows

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect starting point for the Amstel gold race circuit and the spa afterwards was a real treat!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The spa. The no phone policy.
Cons: Room was really disappointing. I've seen motels or travel lodges in better states. We didn't even get hand soap and when we tried to move the 4 in 1 shower gel to the sink to use as handsoap we realised it was chained to the bath tub. Luckily the spa was amazing and we didn't go in our room much but honestly the rooms and really dragging the quality of the spa. And wheres the hand soap??
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great
7.9 Good
Pros: The room size was great. Having a private space to retreat to while at the spa was great. The view of trees was nice and secluded feeling. The towels and robes in the room were a luxurious touch. The breakfast in the morning was VERY good, and with the option of dining in your robe! I got there before 9 and it was very quiet. Things picked up around 10am.
Cons: My room was hot and stuffy when I arrived. The sun was shining in and the curtains were left open. There was no real way to air out the room. There was a fan, which was nice, but no AC, which I expected for the price that you pay for these rooms. But it's my fault for missing that detail. The balcony, while it has the feel of being private and secluded is anything but. My room smelled of fresh paint fumes and I REALLY needed to leave the doors open to air it out as I was getting a headache, but the balcony opens to a grassy area that anyone could walk on from their balcony and come into your room (though the grassy area is not a common space nor meant for walking on). So I was torn between comfort and safety. I was told that the room had not been painted recently when I inquired about the fumes, and I was told that I could not switch rooms because they were fully booked. I mentioned the fumes again when I checked out and they comped my Shiatsu massage chair session (7.50euro). I would not stay there again or recommend the hotel part based on my experience this time. It has also been a year since I last visited this spa and I felt that the facilities looked a bit grungy this visit.
6.3 Good
Pros: The spa is fantastic if it's not too busy
Cons: You have to pay for bath robes and for slippers. When it's full, the spa is not so nice because you barely find a sauna that is empty. And they don't have a gym
7.5 Good
Pros: Good breakfast
7.9 Good
Pros: access to spa was really great. we had a nice and comfortable stay. I recommend it for a short vacation.
Cons: WiFi did not work well. room did not have any cup or mug for tea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wide pools and large choice of saunas and steam baths. The extreme kindness of the staff makes this place much special and enjoyable.
Cons: Missing products in the bathroom’s hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was beautiful and easy access to Valkenburg city centre and train station. It was peaceful and relaxing with a lot of different bathing areas including saunas, spas and relaxing zones.
Cons: I didn't like having to pay for a robe and towels as a hotel guest; and not being able to eat in some of the restaurants with clothes on ie only bath robes allowed.
7.9 Good
Pros: The overall experience has been an immersion into an oasis of peace. The variety of piscines and saunas is really great. Different temperatures are available, both in the naked part and in the dressed one. It was always possible to find a not crowded spot in any piscine/sauna/hot bath. The massage (hot stone) was extremely pleasant.
Cons: Majority of personnel answer in dutch even when they are talked to in english. It was also very hard to reserve a massage as the choice of language on the phone reservation system is either dutch or french. Rooms are nice but would benefit from some renovation.

6.7 Good
Pros: Perfect location for the square and eating places, lovely view over the river outside too. Reception staff really friendly.
Cons: Rooms were very small, bathrooms tiny (even for someone who is family small) no air con and kept having to ask for the eggs and fruit to be restocked at breakfast. Plus there was only a very slow 2 slice toaster for the whole breakfast sitting
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff very friendly. Design of appartment simple, modern and light. Overall clean place. Right in the centre.
Cons: We stayed at an apartment at the 2nd floor. It was a hot time of the year so the night was uncomfortable, no aircon. Building is a bit worn down. Bit of mold between tiles in bathroom.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very central
7.9 Good
Pros: Great hotel for a passing through place to crash.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location Close to center
Cons: Airconditioning missing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location was terrific - in the heart of the city center, but a quiet spot - the staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and very comfortable, and the breakfast buffet was one of the best of our two month trip (even a bottle of champagne at your disposal!).
Cons: The only criticism we had - and on the hotel may not be able to do anything about - is that we booked a "comfort double room" on the top floor, because it had a balcony. Unfortunately, the other people on both sides of us apparently booked a room with a balcony so that they could smoke throughout the day and night on their balconies! This made it unpleasant for us to use our balcony, and, since it was really hot, when we opened the windows to our room, the smell of their smoke came funneling into our room. Too bad, a nice balcony at an extra cost, essentially ruined by people smoking outside on the adjacent rooms!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and location was first class room was well set out clean and well decorated. Location was good for eating ,nights out and transport. Good breakfast and helpfull staff.
Cons: Nothing spot on
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is our 2nd stay here and once again we're very happy with our stay. The hotel is clean and comfortable. The breakfast is very nice with a wide continental selection.
Cons: When the breakfast room is busy, unfortunately there is a queue to get coffee from the machine. The queue is around the food so makes it difficult to get to the food.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Amazing staff. Great location.
Cons: Bathroom was smaller than anticipated. Fine for a one night stay but not so good for a longer stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable rooms, good breakfast and great central location

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is small, cozy and quite stylish, situated next to the castle ruins in the heart of town. It placed in old building and gives authentic feeling of Dutch house. Hotel restaurant is very pleasant and food is tasty.
Cons: Entrance to the hotel is through the restaurant, which is not very useful and the same staff cares about hotel and restaurant guests, so sometimes you need to wait to get some attention. Our room looked just usual, not so stylish as rooms that shown on photos, but our friend's room looked as expected.

Pros: Really nice and very spacious apartment in the center of valkenburg
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location in the centre of town within easy walking distance to the train station and sights. Awesome restaurant on the ground floor.

7.5 Good
Pros: Excellent location in the city center and a simple but good breakfast.
Cons: The bathroom was not so clean and the quality of furniture, linen and towels could be improved.

Pros: Excellent sound proofing windows ( unexpected). Large bed sizes. Prime location, right in the middle of the center with all the tourist attractions within 10 min walking distance.
Cons: Low ceiling, especially bathroom. People above 180cm may suffer a bit in the shower. Room size was bit tight, but bearable. Main door is very squeeky and hard to open at first.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, atmosphere and croissants!
Cons: Stairs really steep.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is suburb
Cons: We had a family room on top The room is with air-conditioning but the airco could not get the room cool so we had to try to sleep in 35 degree oven. At midnight had to ask for a fan to get some air moving
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff, breakfast, location and room interior are very nice.
Cons: Shower and bed not suitable for tall people. Shower temperature is not stable. Being in the town centre means that there is a lot of noice from the street that comes into the room.

Pros: The property is in a great location, close to the train station , Christmas Market, and restaurants. Staff was very friendly, and there is someone on property at all times. Check-in was available late in the evening, which we needed since we didn’t start our journey to Valkenburg until my husband got off work in the late afternoon and it took us several hours to get there.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, couldn't get a better one. Great value for money.
Cons: No coffee making facilities in room. Everything else was great, excellent location. Liked how the staff left you to get on and enjoy your holiday. Great restaurant downstairs but service slow. Would return.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good sized room and ensuite. Food was amazing in the resturant. Central location was really good also, everything in walking distance. Valkenburg is a lovely town. A real buzz around the hotel. Would definitely recommend as a destination. Plenty of good resturants in the same area.
Cons: Our room was accessed through a service passage and was above the kitchen. Was also up a set of steep stairs (to be expected in Holland). View from window was of the yard and kitchen extractor ducting. Extractor was running all day and into the night while the kitchen was open. Single beds pushed together. Mattress was too soft for me and I ended up sleeping on the couch, my wife however didn't mind the mattresses. No air conditioning...very warm at night. Fire safety not to UK standards. No tea, coffee, kettle or ironing facilities. Fridge would of been nice. Breakfast was €9 extra per person, not included. Not what I would define as a hotel, more of a bar/resturant with lodgings.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location is great. Middle of town. Large size room. Very large bathroom. Clean.
Cons: Bed is too soft and not a double but a twin. Noise is coming from restaurant and from the kitchen machinery and airco. Shower is not so comfortable, could have more water.

Pros: breakfast and swimming pool were not crowded in September and nice. we also like the bar area, it is cosy

6.7 Good
Pros: Rooms modernised clean and comfortable. Bathroom and shower above average. Swimming pool excellent. Parking good. Good for 1/2 night stay.
Cons: The outside dining terrace tables near balcony edge were filthy. Table not ready for service despite booking 1100 for dinner 1930. Had to ask for table cloth. Very limited menu dessert two items dame blanche and strawberries with yogurt. This for a 4* hotel. Hotel needs a good manager. No manager on a Sunday for a 100 plus room hotel!!!! Restaurant in need of a maitre d or owner who cares!!! Eat out!!! For those cycling reception has no advice and is not geared to connecting you to the start. No useful byclce route connection plans! You are on your own!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We had a large room with a view of gardens. Bed & pillows were comfortable. Good to have air conditioning as it was warm & only a short walk to the restaurants.
7.5 Good
Pros: Pool was nice, breakfast great.
Cons: Parking was expensive for a property that is located out of town. Our room was very small and quite noisy.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good. Great variety but very crowded. Limited sitting and very noisy
Cons: Basic rooms are terrible. Outdated. Old and dirty. Felt like cheap motel. Even black out curtains had some holes in them and you can see them in the morning with sun coming through When I pay almost 200€ for the night I expect the carpet to be clean and without stains. Bathroom not no have chipped taps and sink without the crack etc. We were very disappointed with our stay, but staff didn’t do anything about it when we asked for another room. Just said that all their basic rooms are the same. Wallpaper was falling off the walls in the corridor on Level 0, where the basic rooms are located. Stay away or get other room type

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice appartement with everything you need. On walking distance from city center.
Cons: You need to get the key at the hotel, few hundred meters further.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great choice for a family. We were able to prepare simple meals with the equipment in the kitchenette (microwave, hobs, kettle...) The breakfast up at the hotel up the road was abundant including yummy pancakes! And the pool/sauna facilities were great. The outdoor pool was open as well but we didn't use it- too cold ;) Plenty of towels provided for this purpose.
Cons: Slightly leaking sink in the bathroom meant there was a bit of a wet floor at times.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, good breakfast!
7.1 Good
Pros: We were very close to the town and it's restaurant s. The town is well worth a visit.
Cons: Collection of the Key is complex. The key collection is from the reception of s hotel and is on the 3rd Floor which was difficult to locate.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Good location only a short walk from the centre of town
Cons: Appartment at top of six flights of stairs
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Plenty of space within the apartment, good WiFi connection
Cons: TV reception was poor.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here a few times, would recommend. Close to town centre, level access to town. Very clean and warm (we visit in December). Kitchettes small but very well laid out. Microwave, hot plates and kettle, cutlery, cooking utensils provided. Beds comfy. Bathrooms (shower rooms) are clean with good showers and no shortage of hot water. WiFi is free and didn’t have any loss of service.
Cons: This visit there were a couple of issues which mean we won’t visit again. Firstly there has been a change in ownership and upon arriving at the apartment we discovered we had to travel a further 500 metres, or so, to the Park Hotel in order to check in to our apartment. Booking.com had not informed us of this, and it would have been helpful to know so that we could make appropriate travel/taxi arrangements. The hotel is up a very steep hill which was difficult to pull the suitcases up. Once in the hotel the reception was upstairs, quite difficult again as I had two suitcases to manhandle. The price was around €30 dearer than quoted but neither the hotel nor booking.com had informed us of this change. Also, during the change over of ownership, our request (via booking.com and separate emails) for a floor on a low floor had been ‘lost’. Although they were able to change our room from one on the second floor to a ground floor room this still meant my76yo Mum (with two replaced knees) had to climb 14 steep steps to our apartment. Heavy snow and subsequent ice made those steps treacherous on the Sunday of our stay. Very disappointed with the new reception process and with the lack of information from the new owners and booking.com
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was good
Cons: Pretty outdated apartment, and it was not very clean when we arrived. Some of the kitchen appliances were old and not working properly (water boiler took 20 minutes to boil water for tea). The price seems pretty high for the value.
7.5 Good
Pros: Comfortable and well equipped. Clean and smart furnishings.
Cons: Parking was a problem. Climbing to 3rd floor with luggage.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was in a great location, walkable to most restaurants and the town centre. It was clean and spacious and well presented.
Cons: Having to pay for parking, but we were aware of this before booking and I suspect this is more to do with the town regulations.
6.7 Good
Pros: I liked the fact that it was an apartment with a lovely garden and a swimming pool.

Pros: convenient for travel throughout area
Cons: twin beds a bit small
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bed, the view and the location
Cons: unflexible check in time. Even when there is room available they won't check you in.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The view
Cons: Room (twin plus) had no airco so was extremey hot even though it was cold and raining outside. Cleanliness was ok, could have been better for the money you spend on the hotel room. Room and hotel is outdated. Personnel could have been much nicer, came across uninterested and annoyed. Bath is to small for 2 persons and it’s not really suitable for showering in the bathtub. Breakfast was nice.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice spacious room and good breakfast. Perfect location and nice inner garden.
Cons: Room had a coffee machine but cups and coffee capsules were not changed/replenished?!?! Even though breakfast room was quite big not always possible to find a table for 4.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful surroundings, very good breakfast, loved the pool. Friendly staff and a very pleasant atmosphere all around. Would come back again.
6.7 Good
Cons: The charge for parking
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The fact that they had rooms in a quiet zone and it was extremely quiet. Breakfast was excellent and they even checked the time of the last train from Maastricht to Valkenburg and then printed us a copy. Nothing was too much for them even though the hotel was extremely busy. We will definitely go to that hotel again if we decide to have a short break in Valkenberk as we loved the town. Such a beautiful place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely large room. Comfy bed and a shower room to die for.
Cons: 2nd day fresh towels but failed to clean cups and saucers or replenish tea milk and sugar
7.9 Good
Cons: The coffee machine was defect on both sides .
4.6 Okay
Pros: hotel position
Cons: Breakfast was a free for all, very bad set up in dining/breakfast room. Food was awful, mass produced slop is how i would describe it. The hotel is looking very tired inside, needs a refurbishment, and soon. My budget room, so called, cost £98.00, you really could not swing a cat in it, and the bathroom smelt. I will go back to Valkenburg, but never to this hotel.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has had a very tasteful refurbishment, my room was large airy and very clean, the bathroom was just as big. A very good boutique type hotel, much better than i had expected. The dining/breakfast room is tastefully decorated, and beautifully laid out.
Cons: nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: I booked this Hotel because I wanted to be near the centre of Valkenburg. It didn't disappoint. It is only 400m from the heart of town and is a pleasant and easy walk. The hotel is clean and the staff cheerful. The breakfast is what you would expect. The only downside I could find was that the scrambled eggs were a bit overcooked. My room was comfortable. The bathroom was enormous if a little dated. There is car parking on site which was helpful for me.
Cons: Only the scrambled eggs!
7.1 Good
Pros: Croissants were small, orange juice not real. Further breakfast was ok.
Cons: Separate parking to pay for. It was tucked away in the description somewhere. It appeared to be included on the front page. This was misleading to me.
7.9 Good
Pros: Room was huge with a balcony. Breakfast good and the hotel cafe/restaurant across the road was excellent.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good position in town
Cons: Hotel dated, breakfast cheapest products.

Cons: A bit noisy in the room from people going walking through the corridor. Bathroom a little smelly.
