Pros: We loved the wonderful hospitality we received from the moment we arrived. The room was immaculate. 7.5 Good
Pros: Lovely log fires, complimentary toiletries were gorgeous, food very good
Cons: Rooms need an upgrade especially the bathroom-no blind at the window,a crack in bath side
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed at the Devonshire Arms for a two night stay in January. The bedroom were well appointed and comfy with tea and coffee provided. A lovely touch was fresh milk and chilled water held in a fridge outside the rooms in the hall way. The Yorkshire flapjacks were also a delicious addition to the refreshment tray. We ate in each night and the food was excellent and delicious. The breakfast selection was very varied ranging from traditional full English to kippers and haddock, smoked salmon and eggs Benedict together with a varied choice of fresh fruits, cereals and Danish pastries. All ingredients are sourced locally with the sausages being provided from the farm shop across the road. It is fair to say the breakfast was also excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will certainly be making a return visit in the future. As for the staff and owner they couldn’t have been nicer.

Pros: Food was fantastic! Room and views were lovely.
Cons: No dogs!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting with excellent food. Excellent rates and the suites are enormous...much bigger than at the Devonshire Arms. Lovely for walks too and great staff.
Cons: It was very hot... we couldn’t sleep for the heating. Also, it is missing the finishing touches that the Devonshire Arms has, such as the smell of burning log fires and nice lighting. It’s all a bit bright with a strong cooking small... even in the bedrooms. Good value though and clean. Just needs a few tweaks.....

Cons: Bed was a bit squeaky!

7.5 Good
Pros: Loved the buildings character, and the owners and staff were excellent. Really hospitable. We had a lovely meal in the restaurant which was very nice, and there was a really nice atmosphere about the place.
Cons: Everything was perfect except the heating in our room needed some attention, the radiators weren't coming on so the room was quite cold, and the room was cold when we turned up, which on a cold and rainy day wasn't very pleasant, in the end we had to ask for extra heaters. Also the spa bath only worked on one night and not the next, which was also a bit annoying.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Made to feel very welcome, perfect for break with the dogs, food was delicious and found the room of a comfortable standard, lounges just need a bit of updating but still a lovely hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The over all feel of the property when you walk in. All of the fireplaces and the smell of burning logs. Staff were so accommodating and friendly. Room was super comfy (had my first good night sleep during pregnancy!). All bar and hamper snacks included in price which is a lovely touch and as silly as it sounds, a hot water bottle!! My husband was in meetings so I was more than happy to relax in this beautiful setting. Food was good and the dog room was by far my favourite! They also allowed an early check in!
Cons: That we couldn’t stay longer!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good, porridge freshly made and delicious. Poached egg was cold, with Yorkshire full english breakfast, which was disappointing. The Parkin cake and shortbread, left in the room is delicious and a welcome treat when you arrive. We also like the fresh milk for our tea in our room.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent and we served individually on the 1st day. We then swapped to self service the following day as it was New Years Day. It was served under a hot plate style and we helped ourselves.. The staff did ask us if we liked that approach and we didn't mind either way as they were happy to do you any extras you requested.
Cons: The bedroom we stayed in was directly over the front reception and because of the age of that part of the building we were in we could hear everyone talking below as they come and went. You just have to accept that this is one of the quirks of a very old building but it did not spoil our stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome on arrival really friendly the room was warm and a lovely hot shower. Lots of choice at breakfast and really nice service
Cons: Toast was cold although the rest of breakfast was lovely The bed wasnt very comfortable

8.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful house in a perfect setting in the heart of Grassington . Good parking facilities Attractive bedroom
Cons: We thought the breakfast, served in a room without a window was a little impersonal; lots on offer but the pastries were not fresh. The tea on offer in the room was not very nice but great coffee bags.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here for 1 night and it was a lovely little spot. Right in the heart of Grassington. We were warmly welcomed and show around and then to our room which was great. The bed was super comfy and we slept great. The breakfast is probably the best cooked breakfast we’ve had. From cereal selection to the presentation of the breakfast was amazing. It was just another level.

Pros: Everything about this place was excellent with one minor exception, below...

Pros: So central to all facillities lovely room
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, service and atmosphere. The room was lovely and the bed really comfy. Excellent food.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The location. Skipton is beautiful village in Yorkshire
Cons: Was expecting great things. Heard fantastic stories from a few years ago about the Woolly Sheep. Alas,it seems those days are long gone. The rooms are old and cramped. Our shower was held together by sellotape. We had our baby with us and they had us in a tiny tiny room. The staff weren’t so friendly and at one point a bit rude when we were feeding our baby in the restaurant. We only needed 15 mins,a high chair and a chair just to feed him,but the waiting staff were persistent on asking if we had a table booked,(which we had for an hour later )...but it wasn’t too busy, there was lots of free space but it felt as if they didn’t want us there and were moving us on. Anyways she when we did eat, they forgot part of the order completely. The food is average and expensive, plus with our steaks we had blue cheese sauce which was watery, bland and more buttery than cheesy. Very disappointed, won’t be back
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, great food, great beer Rooms are excellent What's not to like
Cons: Having to leave

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small hotel located in Centre of Skipton which allowed access to all local amenities. Staff were exceptional in friendliness and were more than willing to assist in any way, including where to go to drink and eat etc. Room was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Access to sky tv, for those that watch tv, is a bonus and significant step up from usual half dizen Freeview channels. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. I seriously can not complain and if need arises will definitely stay again.
Cons: Parking is free between 6pm and 9am opposite hotel, this is a small car park (local authority) which was okay for me but may be an issue for visitors who want to stay in room longer.

Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent 'Full Yorkshire' breakfast. The host was great. Hotel location great too. Car park pass for local parking

Pros: Fantastic location in beautiful Wharfedale with easy access for walking. All the food was delicious, with imaginative, perfectly cooked dishes.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, very clean, well run and organised
Cons: Just a couple of minor points. Not enough seating in the bar for people only wanting a drink a little too much space in the bar area taken over by dining. More lighting needed on the steps between the main pub car park and the Manor House, only two lights towards the top of the steps are not enough more lighting needed at the bottom of the steps it’s very difficult to see in this area on a dark winters night. The card in the room on arrival welcoming us was a nice touch but it assumed my partner and I were married and so was addressed to mr and mrs this wording may need changing.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely location, very comfortable. Breakfast was good and varied ......sufficiently filling for the day.A restful break.....nice stroll from Manor house , by the river , to main house.Thank You....would hope to revisit Coped well with gluten free..

Pros: friendly and helpful staff
Cons: cheap loo roll tight squeeze in the bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the extensive well Priced menu. Friendly welcome, room was clean and cosy. Great location for scenery and walks.
Cons: Room was detailed as a “superior double” how we the bed was 2 singles pushed together, while this gave a big bed falling down the gap in middle isn’t great. Booked online as it was dog friendly, however after paying decided to phone and check and we weren’t booked into one of the dog friendly rooms so we then couldn’t bring our dog which was disappointing and meant we couldnt enjoy long walks in area.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: enjoyed both breakfasts although the second one could have been hotter.
Cons: The room was small but very comfortable. We did find the bathroom rather cramped.

Pros: We loved the wonderful hospitality we received from the moment we arrived. The room was immaculate.

Pros: Very helpful and obliging staff. Excellent hospitality. Superb food.
Cons: Lighting in bedroom could have been better - but insignificant comment really as hotel, service and food were all fantastic.

Pros: Everything about this place was excellent with one minor exception, below...
