10.0 Excellent
Pros: Can't fault this place! We were upgraded immediately on arrival as there had been a cancellation and were given a beautiful ground floor room with door opening onto a lovely garden with our own outdoor seating area. The room was big with a comfy sofa and big comfy bed. Plenty of refreshments available and this is the first place I've seen that offers the use of a fridge and microwave for sole use of the residents. There was even a corkscrew in the room! Location was stunning and there is a lovely pub just under 2 miles walk (The Falcon). The breakfast at Warren House was gorgeous and really set us up for a day of walking! Will definitely return here!
Cons: Couldn't fault it one bit.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. The food was absolutely outstanding. The rooms were beautiful. Loved the extra little touches.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I booked a double bed and we were given a free upgrade to a kingsize bed. The room was lovely and the bathroom very large. The evening meal was lovely but not a large menu
Cons: The pillows were like bricks. We did not realise they were memory foam pillows until we got into bed and too late to request a change. Consequently we did not have a good nights sleep. Not the hotels fault but the binmen woke us at 7pm.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quiet. We’ll decorated
Cons: The view of the car park
7.5 Good
Pros: breakfast good. parking not good visitors trying to park up didn't go out in car as wouldn't get a space when returning.
Cons: parking should maybe have barrier with code for residents to stop others getting in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and evening meal was served hot and delicious, excellent in fact.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of my favourite Boutique Hotels - Great service from all the staff, different theme rooms, great dining and the cooked breakfast is a must 10/10
Cons: Nothing, perfect stay each time
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was a small boutique style hotel. The room we booked was The Cottage it was a good size with a decent size bathroom. Due to the location in the centre of Grassington the views were limited. The main attraction for us was the overall location of Grassington which this hotel was a great base to explore the Wharfdale area especially its walking routes. In addition we were looking for great food and wine which lived up to our expectations. We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and upon arrival into our room we provided with a chocolate treat which was a nice touch. Overall we would recommend to other food lovers.
7.5 Good
Pros: The food & drink were good especially the tapas style starter and the Szechuan duck
Cons: The menu was the same both nights. The worn & greasy stair carpet. Also I realise we were staying in a restaurant with rooms, so the bar and sitting area are smaller than we would have liked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was brilliant. Such a good menu. We dined in the restaurant on Monday evening too and the food was delightful. Sue and all her wonderful staff made us feel so welcome.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location was ideal Breakfast very good
Cons: Welcome at reception not ideal. Had a 20 wait for service after arriving at agreed time. We felt we were a bit of a nuisance. Lady at check out was very nice
Grassington Lodge - Skipton - Bedroom

9.2 Excellent (183 reviews)
AED 510+
Overview Reviews
Located in Skipton, Grassington Lodge is within a 15-minute drive of Yorkshire Dales National Park and Bolton Priory. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice location and close to all amenities Staff were friendly
Cons: For a superior room the bed was not the most comfortable. Two beds had been pushed together to make a larger bed and was uncomfortable to lie on the seam. The room was way too hot even when the fan was on constantly. Overall it was a nice clean hotel other than this.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: I had difficulty with the separate bathroom's door knob, was hard (for me) to open, at one stage took a few minutes to exit, I am awaiting surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome, and had surgery on the other, I don't have a lot of strength in either. I also was very aware the bathroom was not next door to us, as told, but next to another guests room, and felt unhappy having to be rattling and unlocking the door in case we disturbed the occupiers of that room, we ended up leaving it unlocked. Our room door was also not fitted properly, could see the light outside through the gaps. We had difficulty putting water into the kettle, managed by putting kettle on it's side in the sink. Finally making a drink, when opening the flask containing milk, it was really off, thick like milk jelly. But have to say, friendly staff, comfy bed and my Husband really enjoyed His Yorkshire breakfast.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great second stay:)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcoming and a great night rest had supper in the town and it was fab. Felt well rested for our onward walk and the breakfast was excellent. Malton brown toiletries. Good filter coffee in the room. Fresh milk. Has the luxury suite which was great.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable room with lovely touches like a fridge, fresh milk, biscuits and sweets. Lovely lounge area with games and books. The breakfast was excellent.
Cons: There was nothing to dislike about our room or stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We decided on the spur of the moment to go away for a night to celebrate my husband's birthday. We know the area wall as we have visited many times, but this time we hoped to have a nice meal and a pleasant stay. We ate at one of Grassington Lodge's recommended restaurants, and found Grassington Lodge itself very comfortable and welcoming. We did not stay in the main house, but our accommodation was comfortable and had everything we needed. One of the other things that we liked was the flexibility i.e. no problem if you wanted to leave your car a little longer, or if you wished to check out a bit later which added to the relaxed atmosphere. We received a warm welcome and service at breakfast was also warm and friendly.
Cons: All good!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were delighted with the accommodation, location perfect, parking good, room very good, breakfast a delight. We would certainly recommend and have already done so. Real value for money.
Cons: To be fair there was nothing to dislike. If forced into making a negative comment, I did not like the coffee but you cannot please everybody.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: On our arrival the place looked outstanding once checked in went to our room it was old and really dated And it had a really bad smell to it hence why the window was open but still the smell was not nice.another we was unhappy with was that we dint have our own bathroom we had to walk across the landing to use it, made us feel really uncomfortable.the location was amazing really lovely place thanks Shaun

Pros: Location good. Character of the property good. Friendly greeting.
Cons: Small door to bedroom - husband banged his head - no warning sign. Shower came away from hinge, appeared old. En-suite tiny and fabric of bedroom basic for the price. Breakfast overcrowded, insufficient tables and one person trying to do everything! Jars of cereal and jams etc., difficult to get to and not always replenished- fruit juice also had empty jugs.

Pros: The location was in a small quiet village, with views of the dales. The breakfast was excellent, there was a good variety of freshly cooked local produce served with a smile in a very comfortable dining room. The main course of our evening meal was delicious.
Cons: Just a small thing, but my dessert of rhubarb parfait was very small and a little tasteless, not worth the money.

Cons: Nothing, was excellent!
5.4 Okay
Pros: The spa (across the road) had good facilities
Cons: The smell in lobby is for dog lovers only. I found it stuffy and unpleasant. Also breakfast was not very good. The sausage was decent but all else was not nice like the eggs were tasteless and bacon tough. for a hotel of this calibre my partner and I were surprised. Also there is a complimentary welcome basket of snacks but ours were half eaten... So room cleaners did not clean properly? We rang front desk and they replaced the single item we requested but closer inspection showed the entire welcome box had been sampled already by previous guest. Yuk. Just yuk.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent - in the centre of town just over the road from the bus station and a short walk from the railway station. Despite the central location, the rooms were quiet - no outside noise intruded. Richard is a very friendly down-to-earth engaging guy - nothing is too much a problem to him and you feel that he genuinely wants you to enjoy your stay in the hotel. I booked and stayed in a single room as I was only there for a couple of days for a wedding celebration. The rate was very reasonable compared to the rate for a double-room and the room was fine - really comfortable bed and lots of nice little extras such as bottled water, ironing board, iron, a selection of liquid soaps and conditioners in the bathroom and a book about the area personalised for the hotel. Excellent cooked breakfast with locally sourced produce - choice of a mini as well as a maxi full English breakfast, lots of toast and self-serve continental breakfast including fresh fruit whilst you wait for your full English to be cooked.Excellent service by Richard and a friendly member off staff - cannot fault at all.
Cons: Nothing at all to be honest - although there is a flight of steps from the street level to the hotel reception Richard was happy to pop down and carry up your luggage.

Pros: Bed was really comfortable. Bar was lively with a great atmosphere. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Private parking town centre really useful.
Cons: Our omelette at breakfast was fried in oil. Bad choice, everything else looked ok. TV in room was microscopic at best. Room description overstated the actual quality with no hot water the next morning only adding to frustration although staff member dealt well with situation.

Pros: Good size room with sofa . Tea/ coffee facillitities in generous supply . Good breakfast choice .
Cons: Evening meal was a little disappointing . Slow cooked lamb was fatty and tough . Sea bass served with an overly creamy sauce . Tea urn wasn’t boiling the water at breakfast time . Felt it was a little over priced compared to other places we have stayed .

Pros: The location was perfect ideal for shopping & the castle on the border of the National Park in Yorkshire
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely and breakfast was excellent. In a great location too.
Cons: We ate in the restaurant and the food was great. However the staff were unable to provide us with additional biscuits for our cheeseboard due to portion control unless we paid an additional £9.00 even though there was no fruit loaf included as per the menu description. We did query this at the time but disappointingly no one came back to us with a response. It's a shame as the rest of our stay was great.
3.7 Mediocre
Pros: The location. Skipton is beautiful village in Yorkshire
Cons: Was expecting great things. Heard fantastic stories from a few years ago about the Woolly Sheep. Alas,it seems those days are long gone. The rooms are old and cramped. Our shower was held together by sellotape. We had our baby with us and they had us in a tiny tiny room. The staff weren’t so friendly and at one point a bit rude when we were feeding our baby in the restaurant. We only needed 15 mins,a high chair and a chair just to feed him,but the waiting staff were persistent on asking if we had a table booked,(which we had for an hour later )...but it wasn’t too busy, there was lots of free space but it felt as if they didn’t want us there and were moving us on. Anyways she when we did eat, they forgot part of the order completely. The food is average and expensive, plus with our steaks we had blue cheese sauce which was watery, bland and more buttery than cheesy. Very disappointed, won’t be back
7.1 Good
Pros: Excellent location in the centre of town.
Cons: Room was a little cramped and the noise from the pub below was loud until late.

Cons: Didn’t really offer value for money and seemed tired in places. Service at breakfast slow, perhaps understaffed.
6.7 Good
Pros: Most staff were extremely helpful and friendly . The location is fabulous
Cons: Tried to reserve a table for dinner in the dog friendly area over a week before our stay - were told it was the manager’s policy not to guarantee tables in specific areas . Seems not to be a very customer focused policy . Room was unbearably hot to the extent it was impossible to sleep . Not really acceptable in an hotel of this quality and cost. Buffet selection at breakfast was poor but cooked breakfast was lovely .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: So friendly. Excellent location.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location, and great friendly hostess. Nice comfy bed
Cons: Its looking rather tired and in need to a good lick of fresh paint throughout. Also, my first impression was the smell of dog, and being asthmatic this concerned me, however, I have to say, the room had no such evidence of dog. Its right on the main road, so if you like to sleep with windows open it can be rather noisy as its on a main route into the town centre.

Pros: Staff very pleasant one helpful, breakfast enjoyable.
Cons: Property very dated and in need of revamp. Bedroom extremely small. Carpet on stairway extremely worn.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff were lovely. Would stay there again.
Cons: Evening meals: Slow cooked shoulder of lamb was too dried out/rare steak was cooked medium (not charged for). The area around the bin in the dining room smells and has food splashed up the wall.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was very good as was the service of the staff, very attentive, friendly and catered for all we asked for.
Cons: A long trek to the top floor as there are no lifts. The decor on the staircases (especially the carpets) were very old, worn and stained which gave off a not too pleasant smell, if this was put right it would massively make a big difference. The tea & coffee making facilities were good but where they were situated on the window sill did not have a plug for the kettle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Forester Arms is set in a lovely village and was perfect location for a wedding we attended not far away. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and were very open.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing the Foresters Arms is the dirtiest place we have ever stayed and should not be on any booking site. If any where else had any vacancies we would have left. Extremely loud entertainment going on until midnight.
Cons: As already stated the place was filthy, dirty stained carpets, rickety old furniture in the bedroom. I can't describe how bad it is, and would definitely NOT recommend staying there to any one.

6.7 Good
Pros: Service on first morning was friendly and efficient. Good selection of food. On the second morning, breakfast was still being set out as guests started arriving to be seated, items appeared gradually over time. Service was slower and less efficient.
Cons: The noise level outside on the Friday night. We appreciate that the hotel hosts parties and weddings, but when the courtyard is full of screaming children after 10.30 at night, it makes a mockery of the signs in the hotel bedroom corridor asking for quiet consideration for other guests! I did raise this with the hotel, and got a less than satisfactory response.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean rooms, friendly staff
Cons: No tea and coffee facilities in the room.

8.3 Excellent

7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, close to Skipton
Cons: Room quite small
5.8 Okay
Pros: Started off good. Nice welcome and check in. Evening meal was very good and service from bar staff good.
Cons: Room was very tired and tv plugged in via an extension real. This was a family room, but luckily only the two of us. Bed was the most uncomfortable bed we have have ever slept in, but only one night so accepted it. Morning came and flushed toilet which made a horrendous noise. Then came the best bit the shower was blocked and the bathroom flooded. I could wash my hair so had to dry it dirty and my husband couldn’t even have a shower. He had to get washed in the sink which also blocked. When my husband told the staff he was told to use the bar toilets and it couldn’t be sorted until after breakfast at 10 am. Breakfast wasn’t good either which was disappointing after a lovely evening meal. While my husband was waiting for me to use the bar toilets before we checked out a gentleman asked if everything was ok and when my husband answered no he seemed shocked and said if we waited he would sort a room out for him to shower, but no offer of compensation for what had happened. I have never left a bad review before but after being ignored in this manor couldn’t let this one go. We were even considering this for New Year 2020. Good job we weren’t going to a wedding as some were!!
5.5 Okay
Pros: Breakfast OK. Close to final destination.
Cons: Shabby finish and facilities in a new build room
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: It looks nice from the outside and the views from the room are beautiful.
Cons: The room was small and had a strange smell in the bathroom. The beds were really small too. There was a large snail on the bedroom floor and a huge spider on the ceiling. Staff weren't friendly and made no conversation with us. They didnt look happy to be there and didnt smile at all. Breakfast was ok, the produce was good but could have been cooked better. The poached eggs were like rubber and hard. The tea had a strange taste. There was no nice welcome and no goodbyes.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Kirsty & clare on the bar were fantastic staff & the service was excellent. Breakfast selection was excellent as well. Deffo stay again.
Cons: The beds in room 10 need replacing as the springs can be felt. Not the best sleep.

Cons: None.
