Cons (-) We booked the hotel room advertised online at $285 a night for one night. Our credit card was charged 2 nights for a total of $966.39. The priced had gone up but the website had not been updated. We got the charges reversed but it was an inconvenience.
Pros (+) I loved the proximity to the boardwalk and the beach access. Restaurants were all in walking distance. Off street parking was great. Staff very nice and let us keep our car there while we spent the day at the boardwalk after checking out.
Cons (-) This hotel was extremely overpriced as are most in this area. For just $20 more, we could have been in a much nicer and updated hotel. While it had charm, it was not worth the money we paid. Also, we came during construction and were placed in the room right next to the “workshop”. Kayak had said waterfront view; however, we had a view of the parking lot. Cons (-) People next door extremely loud at 5am and no bedside lamp.
Pros (+) Loved the location, charm, updates and view. Our room resembled a studio apartment with a refrigerator, stove & kitchen area. We will definitely come back for longer stays with the kids and save money by having the kitchenette.
Cons (-) The hardwood floor appeared clean but did leave our socks dirty. I expect this in ever hotel though. Even in $300/nt carpeted rooms. That's why we always wear socks. Everything looked and smelled clean otherwise.
Pros (+) I surprised my husband with a quick getaway to Santa Cruz and booked a room at the Casablanca. I was shocked to find out how close to the water it was! With the warf on your right and the Boardwalk on your left, our stay was complete with the Casablanca on the Beach! We could walk right down to the water or any shops or restaurants. Cons (-) terrible service tried rooms and hotel tried to get me to cancel kayak booking and re-book directly with them, presumably to save the booking fee unhelpful staff if you have to stay there make sure you get a room with a sea view
Cons (-) The room was small and dirty. Was angry how much I paid to stay in such a dump. Not worth spending that kind of money for this place.
Pros (+) Great location, nice terrace but needs updated furniture. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean.
Cons (-) Older resort need of facelift. No screens on windows or window locks. Tile was broken in bathroom and shower stall very small. The vent above the toilet was open and not screwed in.
