Own pool is simply what you really enjoy when having a romantic or family holiday. Wannabe perfect gastronomy. Food was eatable but nothing for gourmet.
The Santhiya Resort is dreamy, magical place. Great for honeymooners! The spa treatments were way over priced.
We love that place:-)
Very relaxing, the villa was beautiful and the view from it was lovely. We stayed for a week but grew bored towards the end, I think 5days is enough, there's not a lot to do except laze at the pool/beach and there's really limited food choices nearby.
A beautiful hotel in Thai style, with great views and surroundings! Both restaurants offered great food and friendly service. Very romantic night time dinner on the beach. The villas are both romantic and child friendly. Fantastic pool and beach. And privat speedboat to Koh Samui - what more can you ask for?
location is very good although be prepared for 1 hour transfer in 4x4 from the landing Port - there is no roads in the island, only trails.... it rained one day and the pain on the umbrellas and the seats on the beach went on all towels and clothes...the entire terrace was brown with paint instead of white...
Staff was very friendly and food is great. There is a band singing at the main restaurnat at dinner time, it is very nice!! Road to the hotel is very rocky and so uncomfortable. The spa was average.
The room 241 was just outstanding: a big surprise. All the buildings and all the little details everywhere were very pleasant. We enjoyed it very much. The streets to come to the hotel are lousy, it was a real adventure, but it's not the hotels fault
the best in the world
Since we liked our stay at Rasananda two years ago, we decided to book the same hotel again. We like the comfortable room, the friendly and courteous staff and the location at a beautiful beach and next to a little village with nice bars and restaurants. The food at the hotel itself is pricy compared to other restaurants around. Furthermore the Thai-Food at the hotel itself is rather westernized and therefore less authentic. The prices for the wines are high compared to Europe and the us.
Excelent resort! Loveley beach, great breakfast and very nice rooms. You pay more for 2 singas in the hotell bar than you do for 2 large singas and lunch 50 meter down the beach, but still. Thai massase in the back of the hotell is 1900BHT, might be very good, but you can get an hour of massase at the beach for 300BHT. That said, we`ll be back. At a resort like this I`d expect a bit more english speaking personell! Pricings a bit confusing. Visited in januar and our room should be about 22000 BHT a night, we paid about 8000. Check around before booking!
Beautiful hotel and grounds, amazing rooms. Staff were very friendly, beach was idyllic.
wonderful new hotel. room garden with private pool fantastic!! the food is not expectative for a five stars hotel
The view, the friendly staff. The luxurious room, the private pool, the extremly helpfull staff, great breakfast and great in room dining. The inaccsessability via the only road to get there was a very unconditioned dirt road, which was dangerous to drive or ride a motorcycle on.
beatiful rooms, amazing spa area
The staff were amazing. They were most friendly and helpful. The design and quality of the resort is outstanding. The resort exceeded our expectations.
Verry nice bungalow, with great view. Love the hammock on the veranda. Restaurant is point on a hill with stunning views over the beach.
very good location, easy access to the wonderful beach; it was very easy to rent a moto at the hotel (for a very reasonable rate) which gave us the opportunity to explore the island (very recommendable) the apartment rooms smelled of mould due to the dampness but maybe the bungalows don't have this problem (?); when we arrived there was some confusion about our reservation as the internet was down and we didn't have our reservation number with us but this was resolved after a few minutes
The hotel is amazing. Amazing location and great beach. High standard hotel. it's in the middle of the jungle on the beach! Hotel resturant is expensive (for tahiland). beach is 5 min walk from hotel but no problem. it's 45 min drive to hotel in bad roads, hotel bring you to the hotel and back but only once a day.
Beautiful location, silent, very relaxed ferry transfer was too expansive
Beautiful room, great staff!!!!!!!!! During monsoon season the road towards the resort is very adventurous.
The location is perfect and the hotel is quite and beautifully. We order room service and we food was tasteless. The main issue was that money was stolen from the safety in my room and the staff didn't care and finely they send me to the policy by myself.
Nice hotel, great waiters. The road to the hotel is like a roller-coaster. Terrible location.
the staff was excellent, the location beautiful, service was spot on, i would really recommend it to any one that dont mind to live a bit away from it all no
I was not expecting that hotel will be in a different location. I would say Location, Staff and View are very good.
Our own smimmingpool enclosed to the big 2-room bungalow surrounded by a beautifull jungle-garten, with the beautifull stunning sea-view over the bay&beach. The personell especially the reception was friendly and always helpfull. The privat large Resort swimmingpool. The bay, the water and the beach was beautiful with non disturbingly noises(music) from the hotels around. The coral house reef is still almost intact and invites for snorkeling. I recommend to choose and book a standart room and negotiate an upgrade to the e.g. pool-villa on arrival; can save you up to 50% of normal charge. Not possible to call out either local or international from the room, which was only possible from the reception. Moderate mold spot on the ceiling in the bathroom over the shower head( which can possibly happen due to the high temperature & humidity). The breakfast was sufficient and good but not varied and only small selection was offered; Thai-food was not offered for breakfast. For lunch and dinner i recommend the "salad hut bungalow&restaurant" in the middle of the bay, as well the "double duke" just next to the Resort which was cheap and delicious, especially for fish&seafood-barbecue.
Excellent No complaints
We had a fantastic stay at the Sunset Hill Resort & Spa. Our room was huge with a big balcony overlooking the nice pool and the ocean. We also loved the breakfast area with the same nice view. The staff is friendly and helpfull. If we go back to Koh Phanang we will defenitely stay here again. No
Massage Very little hot water, no safety deposit box, didn't pick us up from port as promised, staff had a poor attitude, over-priced food menu, dirty swimming pool (dead frog in), no gym, no adaptors for overseas plugs, shower was a wet room-not big enough for 4 people, ceiling fell in due to leak-no compensation offered, door didn't lock properly, food took ages to be cooked, service at breakfast was very slow, they asked for money up front, bad service when checking out-they charged us for things that we hadn't even had, no receipt given to show us what we had been charged for, no hairdryer, over priced taxis arranged into Phangan.
Absolutely nothing. Worst experience of my life. From the moment we arrived at the Sunset Hill Resort and "Spa" untill the moment we left there was not one thing I can honestly say that corresponded with the desciption of the hotel on Booking.com or on the hotels own website. The hotel was a complete let-down.
nice view of surroundings
The staff was very friendly and helpful in all matters. Very peaceful place, not on the party side of the island. Good place for those who just want to relax. The massage service the resort provided was excellent! Construction work was in progress but id didn't disturb at all. There were some problems with water pressure and supply on a couple of days, though shower/toilet worked every day, so no showers were interrupted. The resort staff recommended a dutch tour guide who didn't deliver as promised so we recommend to explore the island on your own.
The apartment we stayed in was lovely with beautiful views, great air con and cleaned very well, everyday. Staff were helpful & friendly. The resort is situated on a hill so you need to hire a car/motorbike or get a taxi everywhere. The facilities were poor and the very few staff that were there are not very organized, just little things like the breakfast tables not laid ready for you in the morning so you get your breakfast before the knives and forks...by this time the food is cold! Couldnt have any cocktails one night as ''the girl that makes them has gone home'' lounge and restaurant is only open from 8am - 11pm. I would have imagined a spa resort to be packed full of things to do but all we had was a jacuzzi and a pool. The place is only half built at the moment, but I can imagine will be great in a few years when all is up and running.
The beach was nice and the rooms were comfortable. The rooms were private and quite big. Our room was infested with ants, our air conditioner didn't work and the vans used for shuttle broke down and were very dangerous considering the price. The staff spoke poor English.
The Staff was quite nice and the guy at the welcome desk funny. We stayed there for 6 days and it was ok, some points to notice (see downstairs) but not horrible the breakfast was fat and limited, everyday the same 4 dishes (no cereals, yorgurt). Impossible to swin in the sea (not deep enough until rocks - 100m away). No elevator but tiring stairs (though not that impossible to do!). Stains on sheets and towels (though the room was made everyday and quite clean). Location Excentred (but ok if you rent a motorbike).
Good value for money, nice pool and friendly personel Our view wasn't that great.
Good resort with clean rooms. We did expect a more luxourious room but it was clean (we had the standard hotel room) and big so we were happy! Right next on a pretty beach and good breakfast. Perfect Thai Massage right on the beach, part of the hotel. Ask for On! (that's her name). We didn't think the food in the restaurant (hotel) was that good, a bit boring. Eating on the beach was great, but the food was a dissapointment. They staff had a music installation on the beach and one night they played loud urban music, which didn't really fit with the sound of the beach and the relaxed resort atmosphere.
beach view (from restaurant, pool), fairly clean not welcoming, money-driven staff (particularly elderly lady running the place and dominating everything/-one): a) had to pay full reservation price in advance (even before seeing the room), b) resort is very remote and far away from supermarkets such as seven eleven (1h walk). the resort supermarket (operated by hao yaad) charges 250%-500% higher prices than seven eleven. c) air conditioner only cools room down to 28degrees (says 18degrees on display, but didn't work). fan works ok d) fatty breakfast - no buffet (even though I booked it). limited a la carte (one is only allowed to order once p.p. and only one egg-dish), no milk, cereal or dark (=healthy) breads. e) staff didn't help when I needed emergency transport to koh samui hospital
The hotel is right on a private beach, the location is amazing, near the pier but isolated. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they speak English and good communication is not common in Thailand. Breakfast and restaurant are very good, you can borrow a kayak or snorkelling and other sporting equipment. WiFi is free. Our bungalow was beautiful with ac and sea view, We enjoyed every moment and value for money was excellent.
So peaceful and beautiful! Friendly staff. Lovely design and decor of cabins. I had some bugs in my room.
