Intercontinental - Ana Ishigaki Resort - Ishigaki - Building
1
8.6 Excellent (2,365 reviews)
AED 1036+
Overview Reviews
Nestled at the southernmost point of Japan’s Okinawa region, ANA InterContinental Ishigaki Resort is a haven of natural beauty. As the gateway to the 21 islands making up the Yaeyama archipelago, visitors to the island are treated to endless horizons of azure water and direct access to picturesque Maesato Beach. Home to the rare blue coral reef of Shiraho, one of the world’s biggest and oldest blue coral reefs. It’s a place where time simply stops.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Have its own beach.
Cons: B/F there was a long queue to get a table.
6.3 Good
Pros: Staff were polite and the hotel location was good right in the middle of town and the airport so access was quite easy. They did help me organise a cake for my wife’s birthday ahead of time which was nice of them.
Cons: Indoor pool was dated. In all fairness it was bad weather during our stay so we couldn’t use the outdoor pool and beach which looked pretty inviting had it been a sunny day. Food was actually pretty bad and very expensive. We ate in the resort the first day and realised how poor it was and so we started eating out for the remainder of our stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Facilities, staff and location.
Cons: A bit high price.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and comfortable rooms, great breakfast buffet, room service was good, spa was dreamy.
Cons: Location isn't great in that you have to get a bus everywhere and there's not really anything within walking distance. The restaurants are also very expensive for what you get. Also, as we went in the off-peak season several facilities in the hotel were either closed (e.g outdoor bar) or limited (e.g. spa opening hours).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Evem though the stuff spoke english, mostly it was a broken english. So if you wanted to book or request someting it was a little challanging. But as it is in nature of Japanese people they will do anything to sort the problem. So overall the personel was great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: exceptionally hospitable staff, probably the best location on the island

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed is very good

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was superb! A beautiful mix of Japanese style food, a lot to choose from.
Cons: Sad that the pool was not able to be used (winter season).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super nice staff. Really complete buffet. Bus stop at the entrance. Very big rooms and confortable beds. Not overcrowded pool. Very big onsen. Massage service.
Cons: There is not much to do close to the hotel but in a 15 minutes walk you are in the city center.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good location to explore Ishigaki, helpful staff who helped us to book restaurant reservations, good focus on eco-friendly travel with options in-room, lovely Panamas provided for use in the hotel, modern and clean decor

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best view , super nice staff and good facility
Cons: None
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing positive to say
Cons: The hotel smells cigarettes in the corridor and non smoking rooms have a horrible and unsustainable smell. We asked to change. The next one was better in terms of odor but we we had to compromise on view. Staff knows zero English which makes things very difficult. Only a small swimming pool that is extremely noisy with loads of kids screaming. This is a children play, no one actually sunbathes. There is no beach!! So basically no way to escape or relax. On the website looks like there is a beach but there is not. It is the sea with some structure next to it. You can t swim there or sunbathe. Anything you do in the hotel is expensive. Food, drinks. Etc Not perfect in terms of location. Not in centre and taxis are expensive. Not a good spot for diving either. I recommend using eurodivers for diving. Super professional, but they are more north west. On last day we went to the inter continental hotel for the day, it was so good!! Many swimming pools, beach, staff welcoming and speak well English, nice common areas. The dream, it is slightly more expensive but would hve pid the difference if I had known.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Awesome view, very quiet and very clean. The hotel and its staff were really nice.
Cons: The biggest and most serious complaint that I have is a big one. While I know that most Asian beds are firm, the ones at this hotel are absolutely terrible. They were by far the worst that I have ever experienced over the years in Asia. I might as well have slept on a granite slab. While you get two restaurants to chose from for breakfast, only the buffet was sufficient. The breakfast at Diego bar was really not good at all. I would suggest doing away with that option all together. Also the dinner restaurants and the spa on the premises were highly overpriced. I would definitely eat and have a massage out in town.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was extremely friendly and helped us with a lot of things!
Cons: None.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very relaxing seaside resort, good facilities, the public bath is relaxing. Breakfast is good too!
Cons: The swimming pool is a bit small
6.7 Good
Pros: The view of the hotel is nice. The structures look slightly old though. The buffet breakfast is good.
Cons: The food at restaurant 舟藏 is overpriced! Its quality is totally incompatible.
7.9 Good
Pros: Friendly staff and the location
Cons: Nothing really!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast is really amazing! As a non-japanese, there were lots of selection and i was able to try local food. They change their breakfast menu every now and then which is good. They have 4 restaurants to choose from. The room is very nice especially the bathroom. There is japanese concert every night, so its a real Japanese experience. There is also complimentary shuttle from and back to airport.
Cons: The bed and pillows are so hard.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. 7.9 Good
Pros: Spacious rooms and coastal location
Cons: Felt very ‘package deal’ and not many options for lunch
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Checking process was very nice. Breakfast was very good, buffet style with something for everyone to enjoy. The room was very big and comfortable for our family. We were able to enjoy the pool for a brief time.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Conveniently located not too far from the airport and “city center”, on the other hand everything on Ishigaki is 30min away. Upon arrival we were welcomed by a staff member that took us to the check in desk were everything was handled while sitting in a comfy sofa, relaxation mode starts from the moment you arrive. After checking in you are dropped off at your room in a golf cart which sets the trend of lay back and enjoy, we’ll take care off you. Our room was super spacious and included a sitting room, large bathroom with tub. Small terras with garden/pool view and access to the resident walk to the main building. Some signs from wear and tear in the room and terrace furniture but spotlessly clean. I’ve said this in all my Japan hotel reviews so far but will echo once more that it’s the staff it makes your stay worthwhile. Would I stay in this hotel again? ABSOLUTELY!
Cons: We had dinner in the restaurant and found this expensive for what it was. If you include the buffet course you can really knock yourself out but the main dish which is the expensive part did not have the value for money.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The food was really really good: buffet dinner was a mix of local okinawan and western dishes, with clearly an experienced chef preparing the western food (French influence) with delicious and authentic foie gras, seafood chaussons, crepes etc. and including local alcohol (awamori). The swimming pool is nice and clean. Free draft beer machine in the hotel lobby! Rooms are clean, well furbished and spacious
Cons: No beach front. Closest beach is a few minutes'walk away but just soso. The swimming pool is small. It could be much bigger if the area dedicated to a small pond with funtains was actually a pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super helpful and lovely! The hotel itself is so beautiful and clean. Good location - just 10 mins drive to the town. The breakfast was SO good! Had dinner one night at the restaurant as well and it was really good (ishigaki beef) highly recommended!!
Cons: Nothing - everything was amazing

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything. Although the hotel was under expansion, many workers were in and out, but customer service was still top notch! It was right beside the fusaki beach, the view was awesome!
Cons: swimming pool were closed after November I understand that they need it to close down for maintenance, but it was so hot during our stay, I wish at least kid pool was open. My 3 yr old son was so disappointed. Would definitely come again during summer!
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice decor, nice rooms and It’s location, the beach is nice right on your doorstop and the location of the beach bar is great a very nice place to sit and have a drink overlooking the ocean.
Cons: It was very noisy with lots of children there is no area to swim in the pool for adults and it’s so expensive. The beach was completely dismantled when we arrived as they were preparing for a typhoon which was a shame we didn’t get to see that area properly and swim in the sea. You had to book your breakfast slot which is too rigid for me and even then had to wait in a queue. View from balcony wasn’t great for the money you spend. It’s a lovely hotel but not sure it’s worth the money. Ishigaki hotels on the whole are very dated we stayed in quite a few. The best view by far is the seaside hotel near Kariba bay but that is in dire need of an update. That side of the island has much nicer beaches and better for swimming. Ishigaki is very depressing in a typhoon!!
7.5 Good
Pros: Modern and spacious rooms, Kimono for parents and children. Facilities for kids, pool, waterpark were great. Very clean.
Cons: Quality and choice of food was extremely disappointing. No fresh and/or healthy options, felt like fast food at all times. Too much single plastic use. Napkins/straws/wet tissues/plastic cups etc.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Carpark too far away The room is too small given the price is not cheap
6.7 Good
Cons: Pool was closed.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: kind and nice staffs, nice room with terrace, nice breakfast with many japanese local foods, and very easy to reach to the beach located in the southern-west part of the island where you can enjoy great sunset and stars
Cons: i hope 1) the swimming pool can open even in the winter time 2) suggest the hotel shop can provide tax-fee 3) car park no 2 was closed during my visit, which the parking is just in front on the room (now has to walk about few minutes to take the car --- anyhow, not a big deal)
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was beautiful, it will be wonderful when the building work is finished. Lovely beach.
Cons: The room was not as described, although, it may have been my mistake. Building site/work on two side of the room was unfortunate and really took away the opportunity to fully relax. The first morning I was informed that breakfast wasn't registered for my room, luckily my friend was able to help resolve this. The second morning was no problem. The breakfast has a very good selection of foods and drinks. Nicely prepared and presented.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is right on the beach. Breakfast had an extensive choice.
Cons: We didn't know that there is no swimming from Nov- Feb.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious, clean and great beach
Cons: Bit dated furniture and decor and public transfer not too often, but nothing to fo with hotel they were great, offered a dropping to local beach, thank you
4.0 Okay
Pros: The room, the view and the hotel (facilities) in general was great.
Cons: Welcoming young staff at arrival but very unfriendly when doing the check out. They even refused to print us a receipt for our stay. Also without a car, this place is difficult to access (only a couple of public buses per day) and no shuttle system implemented at the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Front of the Beach Side and eating bfast with beautiful view outside the window♥️
Cons: Nothing to say
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice, secluded location on a white sandy beach. Staff was extremely helpful despite some language problems. Will definitely come again
Cons: The room was only available after 3pm, which may make sense during peak season. During low season however, as the room was empty anyway, this waiting was unnecessary. Also, due to the humid season, towels and bed smelled a little. That could have been better. Ideally the room should also be non-smoking as a standard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The beach is gorgeous and kid-friendly. Not too many options to eat nearby but the hotel breakfast buffet is great. The cottages (in Kabira Village) have a great mix of privacy and convenience.
7.0 Good
Pros: Absolutely beautiful beach. Sunsets are amazing Food is also good, recommend taking the buffet as they probably adjusted all prices so that the buffet is only one reasonable option.
Cons: Our check-in was at 15:00 but we only got to the room at 17. The front staff was very polite and offered us to go to onsen to warm up. However we were tired and wanted to know why the delay took place. The villa had a strong smell. Although the team did proactively provide air purifier, it was still too humid and bedsheets smelled of mold? Or something similar. Also we had a huge spider in the room, and when I asked to get it "evacuated" the staff came and killed it in front of everyone...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully located by the beach. I loved the view from the room. Great breakfast and nice staff.
Cons: The public bath needs some renovation. It would be useful if staff speak better English.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow - great hotel Very clean and great staff Onsen was great Paradise
Cons: Music in lobby was a bit repetitive but otherwise I can’t fault this place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location, although removed, was incredible. The beach was glorious and it was totally worth it to stay farther away from the main port. We loved the cabin to ourselves, and enjoyed the beach views and remoteness.
Cons: An airport shuttle would have been great. The decor was a bit outdated, but it didn't take away from our experience. Really it was great, we had an awesome time!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are kind and nice to spend a lot of time to help me for car rental. Thank you so much. I really appreciate their effort and attitude.
Cons: Communication took time a little bit more; otherwise it’s wonderful hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quite, breakfast tastes good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and clerks were both awesome
Cons: Nothing it was great
9.6 Excellent
Pros: A room was larger and more clean than I expected.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. Breakfast was great with lots of variety. Loved the brown sugar bread. Room size was great. The laundry room was located at the 6/F and we utilized it on the 2nd night after our outdoor activities. Proximity to eateries and shopping area. The staff helped us to make a restaurant booking in advance. Thank you so much!
Cons: Though the hotel is just located 8-10 minutes away the Ferry Terminal, dragging luggages from/to the Ferry Terminal to/from the hotel under the hot sun/rain might be tiring since there is no shelter on the way.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and very clean. The breakfast was very good. The 2 hour free bicycle rental was nice and the bicycles were fairly new.
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: It had (almost) everything that we needed- lashings of hot water, as many sheets and blankets as we needed, heated toilet seat, bath etc. it is close to the port and bus station. Bright lights, good breakfast, beach towels.
Cons: Smallish windows, lacked charm, restricted tea offerings, instructions for many things only in Japanese.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: + 10-15 mins walk to the port terminal, where u can take ferry to islands (suggest u join a group) or bus to the airport. I used taxi and it cost me around 3000¥ to the hotel. + Staff is surely helpful if u cannot speak Japanese. + You can free bike rent for the 1st hour the 500¥ for each hour. + you can take a taxi to near by beach for around 1000¥. I went to Maezato beach. on the date of check out. I took all my belongings to the beach. there is a small locker can put ur valuable stuff. There are glass kayak (3500¥ 30mins), swimming gears, chairs(2000¥ 1 hour) you can rent, and free shower with hot water in the beach.
Cons: + u have to pay to watch TV + pay to get detergen + the airconditioning is not comfortable. and have to re-start every time u entre ur room.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Not the newest hotel, but ok for the price and location. Breakfast included a large choice of noodles.
Cons: Breakfast.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in one of the most convenient locations for great dining and visiting the other Yaeyama islands. I was thoroughly pleased with how easy it was to walk around and find an abundance of restaurants, cafés and izakaya within the surrounding area, all with great quality food. The hotel breakfast buffet with its "build your own soba" bar was quite the treat and really delicious! It's short though - from 7am to 9am - so go early if you want to get first pickings! If your looking for more Western-style food, this may not be the place for you, but I still recommend opening your tastebuds to the well-prepared Ryukyu-style of food served here. The lobby also boasts a complementary drink bar available 24-7 with local juice, a variety of bean coffee flavours and cold tea, as well as 4 selections of Ryukyu awamori that was really good! The second floor also had a small mini golf putting area that my husband and I enjoyed after a long day at the beach with some drinks in tow. The rooms were exceptionally clean and kept cool prior to our arrival. There are complementary toothbrushes, shower supplies, and even disposable razors. The bathrooms were clean and great; a very comfortable stay. Staff at the facility are very kind and accommodating. Even if you don't speak Japanese, they will do their best when speaking in English and help you out, so no worries with communication (most of the staff speak English well, they're just shy about it). Overall my husband and I really enjoyed out stay here and would happily recommend this hotel to anyone coming to Ishigaki!
Cons: Parking is available at a low rate of ¥500 per day. It was rather full the day we checked in and I think a bit limited for the number of guests staying with cars. However, staff was ready to help us find alternative parking nearby with the lowest rate in the area, complete with a guide map. Pillows were a bit too hard for me personally, but I was still able to sleep fairly well on them. Otherwise no real complaints.
6.3 Good
Pros: The crew is kind and helpful.
Cons: They have only 2 shitty bikes for more than 50 rooms. When we booked a room they promised a mobile phone for the accomodation but it was a lie.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast, a small bar with drinks. The table with small lotion packets and hand cream was also very thoughtful!
Cons: Pillow was very hard
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast is very Okinawa-style and I like it.
Cons: The lighting in room is a bit too dark, there's some noise around the TV area as well, may be the air-conditioner or may be the room next door.
6.7 Good
Pros: Location is good.
Cons: The room not light enough, too dark. My friends are no feeling well in every night.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff. Bikes available for loan. Not in best condition, but those worked. Location was good. Close to many restaurants and shops, but still it was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast was good and the free Awamori was nice add.
Cons: Room had little bit funny smell. Don't know was there moist or something.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good breakfast buffet. Okinawa noodle
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Just a few minutes walk from the port. Quiet at night. Good breakfasts. Free coffee and bicycle loan.
Cons: The mattress was not very comfortable.

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a 24-hour front desk, and luggage storage. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location is very good, and they provide car park, but it is very hard to park into no. 3-7. there is a supermarket and a restaurant opposite the hotel. the room is bigger than lot of hotel in japan.
Cons: um... only one thing. if they can provide the kitchenware without fee would be prefect.
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff is very nice and helpful. Location is good, just in front of Aeon mall and about 15mins away to airport.
Cons: Air conditioner is not working properly. Very smelly inside the room.
6.3 Good
Pros: The tatami area in the bedroom was perfect for our baby to crawl on (we did require extra blankets though to organise futon style bedding for our little one). Nearby shops and restaurants are a plus, we could find everything we needed. Nice beach just 10min by foot. Sign up (for free!) for WBF membership and you get a free coffee per day of stay! Basic but good value for money.
Cons: You are required to pay extra to get kitchenware but we managed without. Bathroom is a bit tiny but not worst than in other Japanese hotels. The close neighbourhood isn't great but not far from city centre.
6.0 Good
Pros: Location is good, it is half way between the airport and city centre next to a bus stop to each direction. Maezato beach is 15 minutes walk. Clean and friendly.
Cons: Parking was a bit of a pain, you need to go through the bus stop and park at quite a narrow space. There are only 2 bicycles at the property, 2 at all. We were four friends looking forward to going by bicycle to the beach and we were disappointed. The much advertised coffee was ok...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent! The room is bigger than the hotels. The tatami sitting room is so relaxing.
Cons: If the bathroom is a little bit small.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Big rõõm.
Cons: Eberything was ok.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: My rent-car was broken and the staff helped me enormously.thank you
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very spacious room by Japanese standard, tatami area, fully equipped, nice staff. Bus station just in front, good restaurant and big supermarket opposite the road
Cons: Nothing.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The dinner in the seafront restaurant was delicious. The bedroom itself was new and incredibly comfortable. It was well stocked with everything that we might need. The pool was nice with great views of the sea.
Cons: No beers beside the pool. You have to rent towels at the pool which seems a bit cheap given the price paid for the room. No room service.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
5.4 Okay
Pros: The prices here were very high for the room and hotel amenities that were available - that said, the pool and outdoor space was lovely, especially for sunset views.
Cons: This property was very expensive for the basic nature of the room and amenities.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast. Friendly and efficient staff members. Next to the beach. Environmentally friendly facilities.
Cons: I liked everything.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Female staff at the front desk and facility like laundry and outside bath.
Cons: The blinds in the room were covered in dust and floor was dusty too. The full payment up front upon the arrival is lame when they have your credit card detail and paid 4 start hotel price. Also the male staff showed everyone’s bill to everyone. We all booked different way, had different rate. There was no discreet and made everyone uncomfortable. It is not professional way to sort the bills.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: Basically no sand band on the beach
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are spacious. Breakfast is good, very tasty and good variety.
Cons: There are not too many restaurants nearby, so if the hotel restaurants can offer hot food/snack menu in the hours between lunch & dinner would be great. Swimming pool is a bit shallow and hope can improve on it.
7.9 Good
Pros: This hotel is well located on the coast, about a 1000yen taxi ride from the ferry terminal. But there is a concrete wall separating the hotel from the sea, so , although there is access via steps, the beach is virtually non-existent. Staff are very gracious and helpful.
Cons: Room was small, but comfortable. The pool is very shallow. Sea adjoining is quite dirty, perhaps due to a nearby sewerage plant

9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was clean and easy access to the town
7.9 Good
Pros: Location is convenient Reasonable price among ishigaki hotels Hot public bath is a surprise
Cons: Room size is very small Housekeeping is only by request and not very clean even after cleaning
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Amazing sunset view... very helpful reception staff..
Cons: insufficient car parks.
6.7 Good
Pros: Convenient location, close-ish to the bus station and ferry terminal. The room was reasonably spacious and had two extra comfortable chairs. They did fill the room up quite a bit, so not everyone may appreciate the extra furniture. The airconditioning and electricity was able to remain working even when I left the room - the hotel had provided a card that could be placed in the card holder permanently, which would normally cut power to the room. Speaking of which - the room is accessed by keycard, so no fiddling about with a physical key. The hotel is in a quiet neighbourhood, and still, there's a convenience store right across the street. It's a street that's quiet enough to be safely crossed at any place. Also, free pakring that doesn't require reservation.
Cons: I was in the secondary building. This means a trip to the bath house requires a bit through the rain and I couldn't get there just on my socks. There are free to borrow umbrellas, but they are on the other side! Same problem for the breakfast restaurant. The whole place felt a bit run-down - as if it was a super modern hotel back in the 90's. Nothing was broken or anything, but it felt like it could at any moment. The bed was really quite hard. Not too hard for me, but too hard for those who are used to European matresses. The room is not cleaned every morning by default - this has to be requested *the day before* which makes it easy to forget (which I suspect they capitalize on). They say it's to no disturb the guests; I think we all know it's just a crappy way to save money. The public bath is not what you'd expect from a hotel that calls itself "Grantia". It is two small tiled baths with zero atmosphere. I've seen other Grantia hotels with a full onsen experience, but this is not one of those. All in all, this hotel is effectively too expensive for what it is.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was a nice size, clean and fresh and had a nice view of the neighborhood and night sky. They have a nice sento that you can use for free if you're staying there. Free espresso and coffee in the lounge was nice and a free airport shuttle made it very convenient. I will definitely stay there again and have already recommended it to a friend. Oh, and a Family Mart across the street!
Cons: I was pleased with it, I don't have any suggestions.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Have shuttle to airport
Cons: No

Pros: Nice service Very nice room Nice comfortable
7.1 Good
Pros: Very large, new and well-appointed apartment with all mod-cons - even a self-filling bath if you can figure out how it works. Staff were polite, cleaning service was excellent. Not too far - driving- from Ishigaki port for dinner etc but also in a quiet location. Lift up to the apartment perfect for families with small children in buggies or visitors with mobility issues.
Cons: Bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable - this is typical for beds in non-Western brand hotels in Japan but I wish they had mattress toppers available for guests who don’t fancy sleeping on a rock- hard slab. Price was also very high considering facilities are minimal - nice apartment but small pool, no restaurant, no spa. ‘Resort’ in the hotel name is somewhat misleading. For similar prices you could stay in the Four Seasons - albeit not in Japan! We did book rather late in high season though, so value may not always be an issue.

Pros: Amazing place, amazing location, amazing staff. This was an unforgettable vacation, we had so much fun. We took the Japanese style room, it was perfect in every way. We would definitely come again
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big room with very nice beach in front of the hotel ! Breakfast is great (continental or Japanese style) and staff super friendly. Plus : private onsen on top with nice view on the sunset and the sea.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, room, beach, staff - all exceeded expectations
Cons: A bit far to find a good restaurant, but this is part of the benefit of the location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, staff were very helpful. Parking was easy (for small cars). Loved waking up to the sounds of the waves, cicadas and birds every day. Room was big, airy and open - perfect for the tropics (we were in the top floor room towards the beach, which may have had a higher ceiling than some others).
Cons: This is a suggestion, not a criticism; a clock in the private bath area would help customers keep track of their allotted time.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good size room and location on the beach
Cons: Although the room was ready we were charged for an early checkin ¥2000 - never experienced that at any other hotel . Disappointed by the restaurant- choice was very limited. More of a cafe than a restaurant .
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great relaxing place. The best part of Ishigaki. Staff at the hotel were all very pleasant and helpful.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean room. Staff are friendly and helpful. Especially like the private traditional bathroom that is suitable for family use
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The helpful and polite staff and the cleaniness of the rooms were very impressive. The kitchen was actually worth mentioning as they make pretty good tonkatsu and a wonderful japanese breakfast, and was amongst the best food we had in north ishigaki.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly. Big room - impressive for Japan!
Cons: The hotel is located very close to the beach however, don't expect to be able to swim in the beach in front of the hotel.

7.0 Good
Pros: This hotel is about 2 mins walk to the ferry terminal, and walking distance to many eateries. Over our 5 nights stay here, we stayed at various rooms - the Japanese room with the tatami mats and futon, the Hollywood twin room, the port view twin room and the suite with terrace on the highest 13th floor. Tatami mats in the Japanese rooms are nice but the area is a little small and the futons are a little thin. The WC and shower are separated in the Japanese room. The Hollywood twin room and port view twin rooms are fine for 2 persons but a little tight for 3. Bathrooms are a little small to fit two persons in the twin rooms. There are only two suites on the 13th floor. The suite is way more spacious with the WC, shower and wash basin areas separated, a big terrace on the side and a balcony in front. The terrace and balcony offers a great view of the port and sea but the walls could do with a little repainting. We loved the buffet breakfast every morning. There is free flow Japanese food, Okinawa dishes, Western selection, good espresso, ice cream. The variety of fresh fruits can be improved. Another percularity is that they do not provide knives to butter or speed the jam on the toast / croissant. Breakfast may seem a little expensive but we soon realised that there are not many choices for breakfast outside the hotel, and for the amount we ate, it was definitely worth it. Over alternate days, some of the dishes vary, so we did not get sick of the food.
Cons: I was awakened up by noise from the port every morning if the balcony door was not closed. But closing the doors filtered out the noise significantly. All rooms face the port / sea and no rooms face inland. This also meant that there are no rooms on the other side of the corridor and as the corridors did not have windows, you will feel the weather immediately upon exiting your rooms. It is the same with the hotel lobby - you will feel the wind immediately outside the lobby doors. There are 3 TOP-load washers and 3 dryers at a sheltered but open-air area on the ground floor of the hotel. Each wash cost 300Y and every 30 mins of drying cycle cost 100Y. There is washing powder free for one to use. The washers are not exactly coin-operated - you need to turn on the washers then go to the lobby, pay 300Y, then will the washers start. So in cold and windy weather, do wear warm clothes when you do the laundry as you will feel the wind while walking back and forth. Despite paying for the dryers, they are really lacking in performance and the clothes are not dry even after 2 cycles and despite not overloading them. Both the washers and dryers are in need of updating.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The building is immediately noticeable from the ferry terminal; the staff are very kind and attentive; our Japanese tatami room was gorgeous; the included breakfast buffet was a delicious and bountiful way to start our day!
Cons: We’re not as used to sleeping on futons on tatami as we’d like to be, so we had to double up the futon mattresses because one was too thin for our comfort. Also, the shoji doors to the balcony let a lot of light in at night. Other than that, everything was wonderful!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly check in/out. Nice selection of food for the breakfast buffet including all you can eat Blue Seal ice cream (ten flavors)! Excellent view of the harbor and amazing sunset from the room patio. The room itself is larger than most Japanese hotel rooms, closer to a US standard size. Free beer for choosing eco option housekeeping. A good value and only a very short walk to the ferry terminal for visits to Taketomi, Iriomote, and other islands. Free bicycle rentals available on a first come, first serve basis.
Cons: No ice cream available on our second day breakfast due to machine failure. Only one elevator to serve 10+ floors so we always had to wait an extra few minutes. We just walked down the stairs and only used it to go up after the first time. The furniture is a bit old and ratty, especially the table and chairs. It looks like people use it on the patio since there’s no furniture outside. Sound from other rooms, especially the dragging of chairs, reverberates loudly with the concrete construction and tile floors.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Few minutes walk to shops and restaurants, and it’s in front of terminal to islands travel, bus and taxi access. Even my 87 year old mother handled walk and enjoyed sightseeing.
Cons: No coffee in the room.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent. There was a small pool for young kids to swim safely but my kids were already 14 and 17. The covered buffet breakfast offered a wide range of quality food.
Cons: The rooms were a bit small and so was the bathroom. One of the rooms we got was so hot. The air conditioning was obviously not working, even the corridor and the lobby were much cooler... The staff should have checked before offering us the room. We were forced to switch to another room late at night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, just opposite the ferry terminal. Clean rooms
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean and nice room. Modern. Good food in restaurants.
Cons: -
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We love the extremely convenient location, situated just opposite the ferry terminal. The breakfast at the restaurant was good with nice presentation too. Very easy to travel to and from Ishigaki airport with the airport shuttle. Located near convenient amenities. We enjoyed the public bath as well, and the welcome drinks at the lobby. In overall, it was a cosy stay for us.
Cons: Customer service was rather ok, but could be better.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very convenient next to Ferry port Nice restaurants close by
5.8 Okay
