8.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the venue, the clean stylish rooms, the smell of the open fire as you entered the premises and the brilliantly attentive and friendly team of staff. The dinner was great and even made me something of the menu as I wanted to eat lighter, the breakfast even better. If you were to add a Gym or Spa you have the full package. I will be staying again for sure amazing standards for the prices paid. Well Done.
Cons: No Gym, Busy Road (although you don't hear it)
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Food excellent, room clean and bathroom to standards with all the little extras you would expect.
Cons: Only thing i could say that needs attention would be the windows in room 112. Very drafty so much so that the very heavy curtains were blowing and one of the windows we had to jam with a piece of cardboard.

Pros: Characterful and quirky. An old building in its own grounds just 2 minutes from Dumfries. The staff were lovely.
Cons: It felt a bit empty. The breakfast wasn’t great and arrived too quickly to have been cooked fresh.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful bathroom, comfortable room and great breakfast. Very friendly staff. Very dog friendly.
Cons: Would have liked 2 key cards so that one of us could go out with the dog whilst the electricity stayed on for the other.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is perfect. I came to Scotland for the first time ever with my partner and my dog, we arrived at 8.30 and check in was so quick. The hotel itself is beautiful. It has large grounds surrounding it which you are free to walk through, making it perfect for our little doggy. The hotel is family run, and all the staff are extremely polite and welcoming. Instead of being told that breakfast is from 7-9, you are asked what time you would like your breakfast, making it much more personal. We was a little worried about taking our dog as she's only a pup and never been away from were we live but the staff were brilliant and loved her like we do which was so nice to see. The hotel is decorated lovely taking the original Georgian theme throughout. We stayed in a double room on the first floor, it was immaculate, the bathroom was modern, powerful shower and bath. Double sink basins and plentiful amounts of towels, toilet paper and tissues. The bed was very comfortable and was a gorgeous bed frame. The room itself was very big with lots of space for our pup to run around and for all of us to relax. We wasn't bothered through our stay by any inconviencnes. It was quiet and relaxing. Breakfast was included in our stay and it was indeed a cooked breakfast which was great as I was under the impression it would only be continental breakfast, as is the case with most hotels when breakfast is included. The breakfast was lovely and there is a broad choice, you can also ask for specifics if you are a bit picky like me. The evening dining menu also looked spectacular. If we had booked another night I would of loved to have tried it. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel, we can't wait to come back! Thank you for an amazing first visit to Scotland
Cons: I have not got one bad word to say about this hotel it was absolutely fantastic
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly Staff. Warm welcome. Clean Room. Good breakfast. Nice. Would use again. Nice grounds for dogs. Thanks
Cons: Not the warmest room! Dog bin would be good idea. TV bit dated now but that is being pretty picky!!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms have been refurbished earlier this year. Now the best en-suite that I have had this holiday. Plenty of heating and space. Dinner was delicious and breakfast was cooked to order. Staff genuinely friendly and helpful.
Cons: Car park could do with some TLC (not surprising considering the amount of rain they've been having).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was large and comfortable. The bathroom looked recently upgraded good shower. Tv, local information, drinks making facilities. Supper was good, steak pie was recommended lived up to it. Lots of gins & Whiskies to try. Breakfast was good and fresh ingredients.
Cons: just a little niggle :The pillows were a little too firm for myself and the parking area had a few large holes in the surface so made it rather muddy!

Cons: N/A
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stayed here as a stopover for a wedding at Gretna. Traditional style bar and tasty food. Accommodation very good. Host very pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.
Cons: Nothing
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Not much. We were 3 adults and 3 children in Dumfries for a skating competition. The advert stated double rooms available so we booked 3 rooms for 3 nights. On arrival we find the rooms had an additional bed and we therefore only needed 2 rooms. The owner insisted we pay for the third room even though we never used it and were never given it’s key. I contacted booking.com who accepted responsibility for the problem and who said they would refund the extra money we paid. However the owner was not on site when we checked out and we although we were assured we would be sent a receipt we have heard nothing since.
Cons: The rooms are basically chalets at the rear of the pub. Ok accommodation but not what we were expecting. The owner was not very welcoming.
7.0 Good
Pros: The room was very modern and was part of an annexe from the actual “inn”. The car park sorely needed some work as there were large holes and it was very muddy which got trailed into the room. The inn was about 100metre from our venue so ideally placed for us. We arrived late and had a meal which was very good but there was no kids menu although we were given a small portion for our child and got carrots instead of chips as per our request. All in all happy with our stay, would stay again if attending the same venue .
Cons: Felt the breakfast time was restricted and the 10am check out was to early. The car park was very dirty.

7.0 Good
Pros: Good breakfast.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel was located close to the town center and pedestrian mall area.
Cons: Located above a dance bar. Could be noisy on Friday or Saturday nights.
7.5 Good
Pros: Manager lovely and helpful, brand new ensuite was great.
Cons: Mattress! And only one fairly miserable towel provided. No restaurant any more - details need to be amended.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean room friendly staff warm room ,,,,, excellent
Cons: Nothing
6.0 Good
Pros: The host/manager was very welcoming, helpful and has a very pleasant personality. The bar was brilliant with a splendid range of drinks, fabulous music & marvellous funky art work/aesthetics.
Cons: Although the room was comfortable and electric heater was provided, the central heating was not functioning in the room nor on the corridor. I’m to certain about the rationale for this. Facilities would also be difficult to access if a person had a mobility problem because no lifts were accessible.
1.0 Poor
Pros: I liked nothing.
Cons: This is a drab dingy place that must get by as a pub rather than a hotel. The bedroom was small and cold with no central heating on, though a fan heater was provided. There were no tables set for breakfast and I had my cold eggs and bacon brought to me on a tray in a barn of a bar. The hotel is hard to find due to the one-way traffic system. I will not go there again, especially as the excellent Station Hotel is nearby, is easier to get to and has very good parking facilities.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Very unclean , all the corridors were dirty , moved hotels after 1 night

Pros: breakfast was freshly made, best porridge I have had in along time. There was a large private bathroom which was good as some en suites can be really small. The whole place was spotless and host very friendly. Parking available
Cons: Not to much of a problem but you have to pay by cash. Not sure if this is on booking .com. There was an ATM 10 minutes away.

Pros: Very clean, modern room even though the property is an old building. Very friendly. Great breakfast cooked fresh to order. Conveniently situated.
Cons: Bed collapsed - slats under the mattress gave way so we had to fix it (wasn't a problem as my husband is a joiner) but a bed of this style is not ideal for larger people.
