- Renting a car is the best way to explore the city of Valencia, which is nestled in the Mediterranean coast of Spain. The local weather is typically warm with little rainfall throughout the whole year, which provides optimal conditions for drivers. Most beautiful local beaches, such as Playa de Malvarossa and Playa de Patacona, are within easy reach, and a car is the perfect option for travelers looking to explore the coastal area outside the city. Other destinations, such as the beach town of Jávea on the Costa Blanca or Buñol (where the La Tomatina festival takes place), are only short rides away from Valencia.
- All the car hire agencies, can be found at Valencia Airport (VLC). The airport, also known as Manises airport, is located 8 km (5 miles) away from the city. The hire car counters can be found on the ground floor of Terminal 1. Both terminals are located in the same main building and are well connected. If you're visiting Valencia during the summer months, make sure you book your hire car in advance as demand is fairly high.
- The city of Valencia itself isn't hard to navigate, but make sure you have some sort of navigation system, as one-way streets are frequent and the medieval street planning can be confusing for tourists. The staff at the pick up location was a bit rude and couldn't help us when we wanted to change driver. Maybe it's not her fault but due to the software she was using, who knows.. but apparently she couldn't edit the main driver to be my wife, so we had to cancel the reservation and make a new one on the spot which turned out to be more expensive than what we reserved two days prior that day. I find it ridiculous that we, nor the rental office staff could edit the drivers info to change drivers.. And even more ridiculous that due to this issue we had to cancel our reservation and get a new one that turned out more expensive. Whether this is an issue with kayak or hertz, it is still kayak who wouldn't let me edit the driver though the app. Also as suggestion, you guys should change "Traveler" to "Driver" because travelers does not suggest that this will be the main driver, specially when there's usually more than one traveler4.8 Mediocre

The pick up was slow (we spent about 30 minutes to get the car) and the employee not very nice. She did not even know the promotions of his own company. About Hertz, the service was mediocre. it is already ridiculous that they pretend a credit card (you are renting a car not buying a house). But what is even worst is the fact that the credit card has to be the driver's. What is the logic behind this? The only logic I can see is getting more money from the client, since the additional driver costs about 15 euros p/day. There are many better companies than Hertz which allows to chose the driver independently from who has the credit card.8.0 Very Good

Cons:
Car broke down, had to get towed, nobody ever answers the phone in their office, a week later and I have no idea how much money they're going to charge me for. Enterprise has put a very serious dent in my ability to enjoy my vacation, because I can't wrap up the situation with the car and have to call them back 2 or 3 times/day.10.0 Wonderful

Car was in good condition.Cons:
Avis did not have the care we reserved in stock. Instead was given an SUV. The SUV was nice but gas is so expensive in Europe and this SUV was so bad on mileage that it basically cost an additional $50-75 for us to get to where we needed to go. Avis should offer replacement options with similar gas mileage.Ace

There was no ACE Rental Car in the Valencia Airport and the company did not provide any solutions to me. I had to rent a car at the airport counter at a much higher price.4.0 Mediocre

Cons:
I arrived at the VLC airport, they did not have an ACE. It took a long time to find someone to redirect us to the company that fulfilled ACE's rentals in VLC. Once we arrived, they did not accept American Express, which was the credit card I used to book, so I had to pay with a Visa and pay for additional car insurance, which is usually handled by AMEX.10.0 Wonderful
