You don't the category of car you paid for. When you book a 7 seater for a family of 5 plus luggages and you end up paying extra to get a smaller car and your kids seat like sardines it s not a funny experience during summer holidays

Everything was smooth, clear, and easy from rental to return. The only problem was initially inspecting a car outside on a windy rainy day. Not their fault, but ideally in a garage would have been nice.

The car was perfect! Agents were helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, the agent at pick up made a big mistake creating the contract and it caused for big over kilometers fees. He also charged for 2 full tanks of gas. At drop off they tried to adjust the fees but im still waiting on refunds. Costumer service in USA hasn't called me back yet, even after I completed the online report.

Staff on duty on the day were outrageous and disgracefully not demonstrating any customer service: 1/ people (of which many tourists/non Portuguese speaking) had to wait for 45+ minutes 2/ ticket triage machine was not working => while all customers (up to ~15/20 waiting) were visibly confused + needing assistance no staff (especially staff attend Diogo + Anna - presumably the manager on duty) paid attention and attend the issue 3/ self-key delivering machine was not functioning as not properly attended 4/ One staff Diago (or Diogo) was arrogant and even probably racist towards myself (as non portuguese) asbosulety unpleasant to deal with. Did cancel my booking (refusing to accomodate using an alternative physical card) and cancel on the spot without even advising upfront that he declined my booking leaving (myself and a family of 5) on purpoe with no alternative/option. This is the worth and the poorest rental car experience of my life. Such a subdue level of custormer service of specific underperforming staff + manager compared to international standard gives an incredible negative (and wrong) image of Portugal. I will lodge a formal complaint with the company and request a formal apology.

Having a Goldcar customer service cenre in Spain, to cover Portugal seems to be useless, as the Spanish staff have no phone number for the Portugese car hire centres, nor can anyone there speak Portugese. Hire cars to be supplied with spare wheels. The puncture repair aerosol cans are always useless. Instead of waiting for the rescue / recovery service for several hours and having the car towed and having to go back to the Goldcar hire centre for a replacement hire car, ruining the day out, we could have changed the wheel ourselves and moved on.
