Of the 25 cars I’ve rented so far this year, this was by far the worst vehicle. It had no A/C, the wind leaked through the windows, it was filthy, and was completely stripped down option with 110k kilometers. The website said open 24 hours. I got to airport desk at 2:00 AM and it was closed. There was a sign with a phone number...I called and it said the number was not in service. I found another international phone number online...that also was not in service. There was no one at the airport information desk. I was only in Iceland for the day and that is why I needed to pick up the car as soon as I landed. So the car was useless to me and I never picked it up. I need a refund5.2 Fair

The interaction I had with Europacar staff both at pick-up and return was first rate. Both were pleasant, professional without any intent to hassle or nitpick. Or that I felt pressured to add something I did not want to add. The car was new, clean, comfortable in excellent working order. I highly commend Europacar for their excellent, professional and I might add nice staff with excellent English speaking skills.Cons:
The cost which was not excessive by Icelandic standards but far more expensive than my home country. This of course is not a criticism of Europacar but a function of the reality of car rental/hire in Iceland. The cost to return the car at the Eastern end of Iceland doubled the cost.9.6 Wonderful

It was a panel van so with the custom shelving there is zero visibility of whats behind you or in your side blind spots. Outside of the city you can get by but be prepared to have your passenger on the lookout for you. With the new law / rule you need to park at camping sites and pay the fee, so seems to defeat the point of the camper van.10.0 Wonderful

First vehicle I was given had a flat tire light on - but it was immediately replaced with a nicer vehicle when I pointed it out. Vehicle rental overall was great. On returning, there had been some minor issues (chips due to gravel roads) that I reported and this was handled very smoothly and professionally by the team.Cons:

My only complaint was that I feel I was upsold how 'Iceland is different from other countries so the insurance is more worthwhile here.' I came in November and other then some rain and higher winds, I really didn't think the weather was all that special. I didn't encounter any gravel roads going to the main sites along the southern coast and their certainly wasn't need for the wind and ash insurance. Now certainly these things happen, of course, and it's good to be aware, but I felt like the way everyone was talking about the weather I would be stupid not to take it, yet the changes were really not that different from my home country. So maybe I would amend the shtick on insurance to 'useful if you only drive in sunny weather' or something similar.10.0 Wonderful

The cars were new and clean. The RAV4 we got had only 4,000 KMs. Well optioned with a free GPS that really didn't find any locations. For $15 per day you can rent a wifi adapter we didn't get it as my cell had internationals calling and data. Check in was pretty quick.Cons:
The check in to get your car was painfully long. After waiting a long time for the rental car shuttle to load up with folks ~ 20 minutes we were off to the rental car drop offs. Once we arrived there we waited around another 40 minutes to get our RAV4. The car GPS couldn't find sites to see by name. We didn't know that we had to take a bus to the pick up point and we wasted a lot of time finding this out. This should have been written on our voucher. The car was smaller than expected. There is NO WAY to fit 4 normal sizes suitcases in the boot as the description states. We had to stack 3 up in the back and put one in the back seat between passengers. This was uncomfortable and unsafe. There was no view out the back window. I think it should be made clear that it will take 2 suitcases and another couple small bags.FLIZZR
