Nice friendly and very helpful staff. Allthough it was a low budget hotel, there were fast internet connection for free and cabel tv. The location was just outside the center of Bucharest, but when you found out how the public transportation worked it was, pretty easy to get there. Or you could walk, it took around 45 minuttes. Breakfast. It was cheap but still no good. So you get what you pay for and nothing more which is fair enough.
Nice and friendly staff, good breakfasts, good services... better sound insulation of rooms, possibility change of money at reception desk, wi-fi avaliable at rooms
Staff were very helpful over my confusion with the currency! The immediate area behind the hotel. Also it mentioned a small lake, did not find it, no hotel grounds.
Great budget hotel, with all amenities, friendly staff. Location is not perfect (not central), but good. Breakfast could be better but it's not bad either.
The rooms were clean, tidy and comfortable. The hotel is a little far away from the center of the city.
Backpackers hotel , basic run down part of town, no facitilies
Clean, nice room. The surroundings ant the entrance on the parking lot which should be repaired.
- nice, they cleaned the room (every day), hot water, wireless internet. good money value the breakfast is quite poor...
Over charging for room - on returning home I discovered that the hotel had charged my cc almost 15 Euros more for my room reservation than the contract states. This discrepancy probably results from the hotel's insistence on charging on arrival against a tariff that is published only in Lei (Ron) and not against a comparable Euro rate. The breakfast menu was very poor from a dietary/health perspective, and not enjoyed by the majority of guests judged by the number of them who disregarded this after the first experience. Facilities for guests to have social contact were lacking, e.g., no bar area, and the tv lounge + wi-fi/internet facility were very limited in their availability to guests because of their use by hotel staff.
I had a pleasant stay at the City Hotel. The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The beds were very small in the double room I had.
Close location to west industrial site of Bucharest but very remote place considering distance to city center
Good service, breakfast, cleanliness The slippery (when wet) pavement just in front of the main entrance is a scandal and a risky source of nasty accidents (who is responsible?). Change the tiling!
Clean, spacious rooms Very far away from the city centre
Having free wireless Internet. Having to pay in local currency!
Sadly, the only thing I liked was that the hotel was a bit better than expected (but knowing that the expectations were poor, then the impression was still not great), Although there were free rooms, they reception refused to give me one for 2 nights more than I have booked before. Only after I made another reservation on booking they agreed to this. Still, the new room they gave me had the entrance door broken.
Big room with air conditioning. 100m from the subway station. Poorly assembled shower cabin, leaks all over the bathroom floor.
It was very conveniently located, was quite comfortable and provided a decent breakfast. The wireless internet did not work in the room as it should have and the shower had a horrible leak sending water all over the floor.
Safe parking, very close to metrostation
the price and the breakfast staff made no real effort to communicate to me. I had to discover things on my own
