Coming with small kits, we have immediately received an upgrade to a superior room - bigger and more spacious; excellent breakfast with lots of choice of health food; superbe location in downtown Bergen - everything can be reached by foot bar/restaurant as well as room service close food/kitchen at 10PM.
The new restaurant is fantastic. Traditional Norwegian dishes with a modern twist. Clean, modern comfortable room. Happy to have wooden floor with no carpeting. Very attentive staff and excellent service. Very welcoming atmosphere! It was surprising how many people who worked there did not speak Norwegian.
Seems OK to me - I did have little time to sample anything special coming in late and leaving early, so here are some points: A. Ok room B. Quiet - slept well. C- Nice breakfast D.Good parking. E- Nice staff
The best choice of dished on breakfast. It was not so pleasant to find out that there's no booking for all 3 rooms and after that we have opportunity to estimate the "smoking rooms" in spite of no smoking had been reserved yet. Never try to stay in "smoking rooms".
The location is great. The staff in general was very nice 1)the swimming pool doen't look veryappealing. 2) the hotel looks very classy on the website but not very much in reality 3) bread crumbs on the dark carpet in the breakfast launge makes the place look very dirty
Staff was very helpful, friendly and pleasant. Breakfast is very good. The location of the hotel near the harbour and the (old) centre is all within walking distance, thus very good for us with a young child. Public transport and restaurants are also close to the hotel. This hotel would benefit from an extensive refurbishment. Bathroom was quite small. In general, this hotel is definitely suitable for a few days (city trip).
Julie. There was one fantastic clerk who, being so terrific, made up for a lot of hotel mistakes. She called around town to help me book a New Year's Eve celebration, and helped me arrange to have mail delivered. She was among the best hotel representatives I've ever encountered. The hotel messed up the reservation. They had me listed as one night instead of two and so did not make up my room. They gave me a bit of a run-around canceling my room key also and overcharged me. When I called they corrected the charge. It is still a great hotel... largely because of Julie, but on the whole the staff was quite personable and caring.
We chose this hotel based on its proximity to the train station. It is a large facility with 20+ floors and good views over the city. Very disappointed we were not able to have dinner in the top of the facility because it's closed on Sunday. The entrance to the hotel was uninviting - dirty, stained concrete, looks across at another large building, very little greenery or flowers in a country that usually has spectacular displays. The only dining facility open during our stay was the bar - open to the lobby. It carpet was soiled and stained. The huge breakfast buffet included many items and for the entire time we were there it was swarming with people. Tables were not cleared for 20-30 minutes, it was difficult to find a staff person to bring coffee. Most of the food looked mediocre or tired. Really. Expected more from Radisson. My husband insists we go back to Hiltons.
The room was very clean and the location could not have been better. Able to see the city of Bergen by foot from this hotel. A bit warm at night in the room as air conditioner was not all that effective
comfotable dirty under the beds:
Great location and nice and warm. Great choice at breakfast. Staff friendly and helpful Looks a bit dated now and need a refurb as I stayed her in 2001 and it was still looking smart then
Everything, excellent breakfast.
The food/breakfast was absolutely excellent - one of the best I have ever had at a hotel. Plenty of choice and really good quality food. I made a mistake with my on-line booking and the receptionist made every effort to help me out and solve the problem. There were free bicycles to use so you could cycle around town. Room service menu/bar food could have been better.
Loved the old wooden floors and location. We had stayed smaller places for two weeks so rooms seemed large in comparison. A small bottle of wine was 130 kroner. Breakfast was crowded and frantic.
location is good for us. many sightseeing place ,for example Brryge, fish market, ferry-port, and cable-train station, are within 5-minutes walk. Therefore we could rest at Hotel during sightseeing in daytime. Even though in central, it was quiet in night at least the days we stayed. Expensive.
Location and quality of the accommodation - room was excellent and just a little 'quirky' which we enjoyed. Maid service was a bit erratic and a request to replace two broken light bulbs was not followed up.
Not really quiet, there are Bars around the hotel, The coffee tastes awfull.
Alexander up at the front desk was very helpful. He answered all our questions, and was eager to help us out. Breakfast was also very nice. Its a small thing, but they had actual half and half for the coffee, which is hard to find sometimes. Late checkout charge for an hour.
friendly, very clean sleeping room, perfect localisation, no noises breakfast was very norwegian, one type cheese (the cheap one), cheap black coffee...; sauna did not work, the chairs in the breakfast area were dirty
I got what I expected. In the room, the window showed bad maintance
Location-Central to the major attractions and reasonably close to the train station(15' walk). Staff were extremely helpful in booking taxi's and securing a dinner reservation The proximity to the nightlife made it a little noisy at night. Awakened at 4AM Saturday morning by the pubs and bars emtying out on the streets below my room
The penthouse suite was lovely with a shared roof terrace, it had really comfortable beds, and good sized room. Some of the staff were really helpful especially Andrew on reception he was always polite and got everything we asked for, he should be the trainee manager and not trainee receptionist. The location was excellent close to the fish market and all the boat trips, tourist bus etc We ate one night in the resteraunt and the food was very good and not too expensive for Norway. We booked penthouse suite for our seven night stay, but thier was a mix up on the booking so we staying first night in the penthouse then had to move out to the business suite for one night then back into the penthouse. The hotel reception staff apart from Andrew and one other female receptionist were not very efficient or friendly, we had to ask on three consecutive days to have our tea and bath gels to be replenished. The rooms were not cleaned thourouly and dirty glasses were left un washed.
Old world Charm in modern value priced hotel. The breakfast selection wonderful. N/A
I liked the location when first booking the hotel, as I thought it would be ideal given its central location. I was wrong. There were drunks fighting in the street outside the window in which I was staying. When I asked the hotel manager that I would be happy to be paid for the night stayed, but would like to cancel my reservation for the upcoming two nights (with full refund as I paid in full in advance) she said I was stupid. The safety concerns were problem enough, but when treated so rudely and poorly by the manager of the hotel it was clear to me that this hotel will not be staying in business given its current management problems. Marita Svenskberg (manager of the property) exacerbates solvable problems.
Good and convenient location There was no hot water
Breakfast at the door - great idea! Especially when there is a teapot in the room and tea and coffee. The stuff maybe a little bit more friendly, but maybe it is just Scandinavian culture ...
Good hotel, value for money, rooms not to large but just for sleeping it is alright. Breakfast at room was OK but could be a bit more extensive
I liked the position of the hotel. I found the breakfast on the door handle, nobody in the hotel informed about it
Simple, easy, no pretense... and like the breakfast package on the door, with the local paper. No smoking policy! Amazingly central location for a budget hotel.
Staff was extremely helpful. Location was excellent -- very short walk from airport express bus. Only about a ten minute walk to the train station. Internet service was satisfactory -- better than average for hotels.
Very convenient location and reasonable price. Breakfast is easy to carry. Shower room is ill drained.
Good location, friendly staff, nice room It is not very covenient to use the shower...water spreading around the bathroom
Low costs and central location Cold water in the shower, no towels in the second day of over stay, and fire alarm two o´clock in the night
Clean and tidy pleasant receptionist Very noisy bar directly belown late into the night. Room very small corridors cluttered
Great location! Superb room, absolutely charming!!
Small. friendly double bathrooms, Maren was particularly delightful. wall controls didnt work and were very frustrating to manipulate. Alarm woke us up early the first morning. No air conditioning
Even the hotel is very historical building located in Bergen Centre, it's clean enough and facilities e.g. bath tub, free internet service are satisfying.
Apart from the atmosphere this small but authentic hotel (part of UNESCO world Heritage site "Bryggen") breathes out, it's location is perfect to discover the city and access major sites of interest or transportation options in Bergen. Furthermore, the interior is designed with utmost eye for detail and luxuriuous finishing. The continental breakfast buffet offered a very nice choice of fresh food and tasteful bread, set in a rather romantic dining hall. We were even happy to enjoy freshly prepared eggs daily, even at different times. So as opposed to other critiques I've read about this on this site before booking this hotel, this even made our stay better. We also found the staff to be very polite and helpful with the few requests we had. If I would really have to think about anything I would like to see improved, I could only come up with the quality of the (free) shampoo the hotel offers their guests. Or maybe some conditioner would suffice. Otherwise, we enjoyed a very pleasant, nearly perfect stay!
A hotel with character and soul, very nice rooms with wooden floor and design wall-paper. Beautiful! Unstabile wifi, but you can borrow cable from the reception. Take a good look at the hi-tec display and make sure the alarm won't go off in the middle of the night & remember to turn on the "Do not disturb"-button to avoid an early visitor.
Location, ambience, room was stylish and clean. Bathroom was cold, breakfast was not adequate for four stars.
I really liked the design; how they used old mixed with new. Good service, great breakfast and really good location.
Room and bathroom excellent.Location for getting around Bergen was excellent, but came at a price. See below. Air conditioning was useless. Bergen was experiencing a very hot phase. With windows open the street noise which went on all night made sleeping almost impossible. We chose the air conditioning option but could hardly breathe. Overall I would recommend it, with this word of caution, in hot weather.
Lovely warm, well appointed bathroom. Central area in The Bryggen. Reception staff excellent and very helpful. Breakfast selection was poor, even for a continental breakfast. Breakfast staff indifferent to our needs.
Beautiful hotel in a very central location. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast.
Good location, good breakfast, hot drinks available free of charge, helpful friendly staff. Lounge decor rather old, dark and heavy
a lovely well cared for and very central to railyway station also liked complimentary tea and coffees
The old, but very nicely restored bar and dining areas was lovely, very majestic. There was no wardrobe space in the room and the bathroom was very wet as the water didn't drain properly
Nice old building., with some early XXth century charm in the lobby. Rooms are very small, with no real place to put your luggages. And the most extraordinary aspect of the rooms is that they lack any form of bedside tables: you have to put your glases (with your alarm-clock, your glass of water) on the floor - and just beware not to break them when you wake up. We had booked for 2 nights; we left after one,
The location is good, nice basic clean rooms. staff was nice. Free tea & coffee in the lobby. Breakfast on one of the days we stayed wasn't refilled fast enough, at some point we felt like almost all food is finished, and only after a long time they refilled the breakfast. The hotel provides 2 computers with Internet. One of them didn't work, and the Internet didn't work half of the time on the other one.
The common areas in the hotel are quite nice as is the Whisky bar. The best feature of the hotel is its location, close to the train and bus terminal. Five minute walk to the waterfront. The rooms are quite plain. We booked a triple room which turned out to be a double with a cot. We were expecting a pull-out couch from a sitting area in the room.
Historical feel and proximity to train station Wifi, room rate
The hotel is close to the bus station (for airport bus), close to the railway station especially if you are going on (Norway in a nutshell trip), 10 min walk from the city center....The staff are friendly and helpful..Also good breakfast.
Close to everything, clean room, nice bed Construction noise from 7 am
Some of the rooms are very small. Once shifted to a usual size room the accomodation was good. Ease of access, good breakfast, pleasant old charm make this a recommended hotel.
Good beds and warm bathroom I missed a waterboiler to make coffee/tea in the room.
Location is excellent, and we enjoyed a spacious corner room. Dining room views are superb, and staff very friendly and helpful. Bed was actually a fold down Murphy bed from wall, not as comfortable as it should have been for the beautiful room, and it was awkwardly made up with overlapping sheets.
Harbor view. Facility is a little old but it is not big deal.
Room overlooked harbor and Bryggen area and was on 6th floor. Room was great.
Hotel is neat and tidy and in a good location
The complimentary breakfast buffet was quite good -- lots of options, large amounts of food. Staff generally not helpful -- only some of the staff was able to provide information about tourist activities. Not readily responsive to resolving issues with the room. Rooms are very clean, but somewhat old. The beds were old and not very comfortable.
The harbour view; proximity to centre. The food was very good, and the place was very clean and smart. Room was small with very little storage and no room to put up the suitcase stand provided! Also the restaurant service was chaotic and haphazard - at breakfast they were very slow to refill the things that had run out. But food was good.
Made reservation through third party. Upon arrival the front desk agent told me the reservation was not showing so he made me a new reservation. Not only did he charge me more for the new reservation but I was also charged by the third party. Dispute has received no response yet.
I was upgraded to a sea view room on arrival
The location of the hotel was excellent, just in front of the Brygge with all this wonderful wooden houses. Our room had a lovely sightseeing of the harbour from the bed. We surely will be back to that hotel.
Great view of Bryggen if you get a room with a view. Great location as well. Rates are a bit high considering this is not a luxury hotel.
Location There was
The bed was not conformable as it was a provisional double bed.Old furniture. There were not enough towels
Very good for the price. Very central.
Within walking distance of all things of interest to a tourist. Rooms very small - difficult to move around.
Easy check in and out, breakfast was adequate, cleanlinees above average Cumbersome elavator to split third Floor. Two very small elevators. Color and decor inside rooms must have come out of the 70's
Location, staff very friendly No carpak
The reception staff were effecient and polite.very helpful about routes.Maybe should get updated about bus and tram routes. The lounge was very relaxing.of course the on the house coffee and tea was so welcome after a long sightseeing walk.rooms were spacious.bathrooms sparkling. After check out we were allowed to leave our luggage as we had to catch the hurtigruten only in the evening.I have to say the breakfast was very filling. We loved our stay here.
The staff were excellent, always willing to help and assist with any queries. Great atmosphere. Tea and Coffee was available all day and night and they provided breakfast packs for our early start. Free waffels from 4-6pm. Great family run hotel with a very unique atmosphere. No.
staff team very welcoming, breakfast, position of the hotel breakfast good but too crowdy; overall need the hotel need a refreshment
Everything was really good, the staff, the free coffee in the lovely lounge, the free speedy internet and good breakfast. There was aslightly unpleasant smell in the bathrrom when we first arrived...but it was very clean and the smell did go. It was just a bit off putting....but not for long.
The staff was very friendly, the location on the hotel was good in the city centre and the breakfast was good. We liked this hotel very much! There was a bit too hot in the room because there was no air-conditioning in the room.
Your wine cellar & restaurant! Also, the location. Not really. I thought it was all very nice. The only thing I might suggest is updating the furniture and environment in the TV/library room. Compared to the other parts of the hotel, it was not quite as nice.
The location of the hotel is perfect. There was too little choice of food for breakfast. Everyone had to wait in the big line during breakfast, not enough space for eating.
good location; great, extensive breakfast buffet. temperature of room could not be controlled and was very cold. Service desk was not organized. Light burned out in our room and front desk could not locate replacement bulbs. Breakfast take out was offered and ordered because of our early flight, yet was missing in the morning.
Convenient for the station and the unesco site. Plenty of good restaurants nearby with a range of prices. Comfortable beds. Quiet room even though it overlooked the square on a busy street corner. One of the drawers in the cupboard in the bedroom was broken.
Perfectly located, clean, and pleasant. very comfortable bed Rather arrogant and unfriendly front desk clerk
Nice breakfast, wlan worked without problems.
Good service especially the lounge service and the breakfast Small room, with a bad view
Very nice room(Grieg Suiten) Exellent breakfast.
The breakfast was amazing. Absolutely wonderful. The staff were very friendly and the room was very clean and comfortable.
Great location. Nice room. None.
The breakfast and staff The room was too small. Too litle space for my suitecase at the floor. Water heater and coffee missing
The breakfast was very good, there was a big choise of products. We could change to a bigger room without problems without paying more. The first room we had was very little, the bed stands against the wall, so you couldnt get out easely. The bed was also very small for 2 persons (1m30).
It was the perfect place to stay in Bergen for 3 nights. Super Secure and safe. I stayed in the 4 bed female dorm. They head huge lockers so I never worried about my stuff when I left it in the room.
The place is pretty much a typical international hostel. The number of shared bathrooms/showers is ample sufficient to not have to wait, rooms+guests were quiet and the guest house's scheme to arrive after reception hours has worked well. pillows and blankets could look better after a round at the cleaner's
Staff was helpful and friendly, pointing out various tourist attractions on the map. the hotel was also very secure. The room was clean and the lounge area was pretty comfortable. kitchen was a little dirty. The reception was not 24hours, so problems (with WiFi for example) could not be fixed until the next morning. Also, there were 2 big groups present during our stay, and they made it difficult for anyone else to use the kitchen because they used all the plates and utensils.
the enviroment is very good. I can coumunate with other people living here conviniently and very well . and i learned a lot of new things of inrest. Very good experience ! The bed mattess is too soft ,a little unconfortable .
The location very close to the centre and the busstation. The reception was not opened in the morning and evening, just during the day.
It's a fantastic hotel in Bergan, quite new, perfect front desk service, very good location in city center. We had a bad experience in Grand Terminus on the first day, so we switch to Scandic Bergen City, it is a smart choice, price just a little bit higher than the former one. The front desk is very helpful to find a room for us in the morning time. Breakfast buffet is typical Scandic. The bed is a little bit too soft, not good for wasite relax, seems all the scandic series are the same.
Easy access to city and surrounding area Room was very noisy with window open at night. We consider a serious problem for some people. However next time we would request a room on quiet side.
early check in It was such a old fashioned room compare to the other rooms they have in the other building. Didn't like it for the same price.
good location, nice lobby, very pleasant staff room smelled a bit. gym was closed on day we went
Breakfast was vast and varied and good. well we booked the hotel inspite of there being no reviews ,considering the webpage said renovated in 2008.Well it does not say that only a handful of rooms in a big hotel were renovated. So you see we were thoroughly disappointed with the room. The hotel staff were able to put us in a renovated smoking room for one night and the next night in a different room. The first room we were given was really old .
I liked it but the strict check in at 15.00 was quiet off putting.
Breakfast was good, nice room and bathroom. Good location.
Close to city centre, ferry port and museums. Good breakfast.
Good location. The room was dirty and smelly. Cheap and old furniture. Still expensive.
A new hotel with Gothic style interior, the staircase is amazing. Nice public areas. Similar to a Malmaison in style. Limited evening food, not much choice at breakfast.
The option of a Light Evening Buffet, convenient location
The location is ideal and the staff are very helpful and warm. The afternoon pancakes were a lovely inclusion.
It was too expencive for that facility
excellent location. The airport buses which are very regular drop off very close to hotel and right outside for return to airport.
Breakfast was very good. Waffles in the afternoon and evening meal included in the price meant we did not have to eat out much..good value because of this only.Common areas very pleasant, modern and well maintained.Airport bus stops across the road. Room and bathroom was very small. Lighting was totally inadequate-impossible to read in bed as side light was so poor..room looked on to ugly courtyard and was dull in daytime.Very large furniture in room- 2 big chairs and a big table-made the room seem even smaller.Very poor storage-had to keep clothes in our bags as ironing board and extra pillows etc filled the small wardrobe.
Good location; good breakfast & light supper included Room was much smaller than we had anticipated
The staff were extremely friendly and the breakfast, pancakes and light supper buffet very good. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and the rooms felt quite luxurious. Would definitely stay there again - good value too. We were not too keen on the black and dark purple decor.
The internet connection was down during the stay. Poor when staying for business purposes.
The hotel is in a fabulous location by the old harbour and handily placed for the airport bus service. The staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful and the room was nicely furnished and comfortable. The breakfast buffet was generous and attractively presented. The light evening buffet was not very suitable for a coeliac so we went out for a meal instead.
The breakfast was excellent. Yes, there was no soap in the room. Had to go to the reception which first had to verify before bringing the soap.
Bed is very confortable over the average and people are very helpful and polite Rooms have quite old furniture not in line with price
The breakfast was extremely good! We were sleeping on the second floor. Unfortunatly there is a club playing on the lower floor behind the main reception. It was quite difficult to sleep in the evening due to the noise.
The pillows I would like some more variation for breakfast
The location of the hotel Nothing
Friendly staff, and the hotel is very well situated...very good services too... no, everything was fine...
Location. Cleanliness of room, lack of attention to request i.e. I requested an elevated room, what I actually got was a room on the first floor with a view of the ugly roof. Staff were not very friendly or helpful.
Friendly staff, big rooms, big and comfortable beds, exellent location, good breakfast
The room was not made up on one day even after the desk had been informed. There was an attempt to overcharge me although this was rectified once I produced some documentation.
Breakfast; proximity to the city center The hotel is old and ill maintained; the staff tends to provide wrong information; bad smell often spreads in the corridors
Excellent, friendly service. Charming antique hotel in the city. No elevator and 4 floors of steep stairs. Steep hills to walk to get to shopping district, but very close to the University of Bergen.
This is a really lovely little hotel. Beautifully furnished and with a warm, cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. Nice little extra touches like free coffee and homemade brownies being put out all day. a little way out of the main town, but only enough to mean that it is in a quiet and peaceful location. You can still walk downtown to Bryggen or the ferry for Stavanger in 10 minutes. Good free internet connection. Excellent breakfast. I loved it, and would happily return if I ever go back to Bergen. Lacks a few facilities that you would find in a larger hotel - no minibar, room service or restaurant, but then again, this is not a larger hotel. As a general point, from Bookin.com, I formed the impression that this was almost the cheapest hotel in town, only to discover once there that there are a lot of cheaper places that are not on Booking.com. That is not the fault of the hotel though. If I gave it less than full marks for "value for money" it is simply because nothing in Norway gets full marks for value for money!!!
We stayed 3 nights. This hotel was excellent. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were comfortable, clean and nicely decorated. The breadfast room was charming and well-decorated with antiques. The food was good and in abundant supply. Parking was adequate, but was on street parking with window permit.
The very friendly and pleasant staff
I was very pleased with my stay at Hotel Park Bergen. It is a wonderful hotel with a very nice and attentive staff.
We had a lovely corner room with four large windows that let in a lot of light. Having tea in the room in the evenings was very nice. Nothing
The traditional style which set the Hotel apart from larger chains in the City centre. The complimentary tea, coffee & homemade chocolate brownies were a pleasant bonus!
The free homemade brownies, good english skills by the receptionists, the cosy old style the hotel had. Poor room service, didn't get towels after room service, lack of minibar, restaurants various drinks. Expensive
excellent service: when we arrived before noon, we were kindly served with hot drinks. excellent room: we were offered well designed room, very comfortable, convenient. excellent location: quiet, not very far from city center, a very nice park near the hotel, supermarkt 2 min away.
staff is very kind and friendly. room is not clean, dust on the phone, poor breakfast. location is on the top of hill, have to climb more than 10mins to get there.
The hotel is attractive and friendly Size of room is very small. The hotel places itself as a 'historic' hotel and it is full of antique like furniture. It thus doesn't have the modern amenities of 'new' hotels. But very friendly, good breakfast etc.
Good location, comfortable clean rooms and exceptional value. I will most certainly stay here again.
Brand new super nice room. An especially good breakfast. Within walking distance of most attractions. There's no hotel parking - as for all hotels in the city center. Underground parking is nearby but it's not cheap.
delicious breakfast nice stay nope
very convenient location. Internet access was free, which was very helpful....but coffee was not...misleading information from hotel. excellent breakfast. there was a problem over flights due to a strike and one receptionist was very helpful indeed it said coffee was available all day, it implied that it was free.
clean, warm, comfortable. breakfasts great. superb location
It was very cold and uncomfortable smoking outside.
In general everything was quite nice about the hotel. Although it is labeled as a budget hotel, it felt quite comfortable and the room was clean and not too small. Quite good location, about 10 min walk to ferry terminal, and about 20 min walk to bus terminal. Breakfast spread was quite good and generous. The staff at the reception can only be described as less than pleasant (not to the extent of unpleasant, but not pleasant). If they had been more friendly and helpful, this hotel would be considered very very good.
The location and that it was very inexpensive. The breakfast was also good and with enough varieties of different foods offered. I asked for a harbour view and at first did not like not getting this. I also think the hotel is a little run down, but the price perhaps reflects this.
Breakfast was excellent despite refurbishment works.Room was quiet. Could have done with additional easy chair in room and also tea making facilities which in winter would be much appreciated

The situation was very good, near the center and Bryggen. The breakfast buffet was copious. The rooms are small. There is no safety box or fridge in the room. The building is some old. No possibility to reserve an extrabed by booking.com, so we added it as a comment but they didn't pay attention to our comment and the place was very small for an extrabed and no other room available.
Clean odd shaped room, Bathroom didn't have an electrical outlet for a curling iron.
The Room was too small and no place even to keep my baggage
Exellent location (in the centre of Bergen). Comfotable rooms. We had a problem with parking place because all of it was allready occupied.
Good location Bathroom was so small I had to use the toilet on the ground floor
Good location, breakfast. Some construction on the top floor. Price!!!
Friendly staff at the reception, good location Breakfast was poor, the breakfast area was too small, tables were cleaned much too slow
Great staff, good breakfast. Noisy construction across the street should have been disclosed at reservation web site.
We liked the new refurnished superior room that we got. The breakfast was good too.
nothing food was poor, staff was somber and barely cooperative
My room was quiet and the location of the hotel was excellent.
Central, good price
Linens were clean, simple but adequate furnishings. As of summer 2016, there was construction on the building. A sign in the lobby offered earplugs, but there were none to be found. Also, given that the entire building started rattling at 6:00 am, i don't think earplugs would have helped much. While the linens and facilities were clean, one of the mattresses in my room looked like it had been stolen from the set of a horror film.
The room was very spaciious and bright The room was freezing cold and the hot water in the shower did not last very long
I've enjoyed so much the city wich is amazing not to mention that the location of the hotel it's exactly what I was looking for! There is nothing I didn't like during my stay at Citybox!
The position. Close to city centre and railway and bus stations. The room was not cleaned properly. Rubbish under the bed, hair in the bathroom, dirty chair.
The service of the staff. The quiet location. The prize Would be nice with a room with bath. Seems to be too few
room space is not so tiny at all (like a school dormitory); location is very near to center railway or bus station; price is cheaper compared to others; fair to stay no longer 4~5 days; get all information about this hotel in advance and don't stay too long then you will be satisfied actually photo shows a kitchen but it's fake actually (layout wasn't changed from a dormitory); room is only with towel, not even soaps; a giant public area is only with a kettle and TV is not even working; super boring inside coz nothing to do inside hotel; breakfast in cafe is poor
Nice quite location, small hotel, very nice breakfast room. Bergen is a smallish place, at first sight it seems as if it is not in the center, but it is a very short and pleasant walk to the city. The room is really small, the description of the hotel explains that each room is different, however there is nothing really 'interesting' in the design of the room itself, it may be slightly different but this is not an art hotel.
There was wireless in the rooms, 2 computers for use in the main hall, one could feel like home with a common room with free tea / coffee. The staff was inobtrusive and pleasant. Ideal for rest / work / shopping stays for people that do not demand luxury. The breakfast may be a but simple but it was sufficient for my needs. It is easy to hear what's going on outside the rooms. However, the guests and staff were quiet so this was not a problem during my stay.
Firstly I loved the location opposite a beautiful park. Then the relaxing atmosphere with a comfortable big room - plenty of space to move around in. the bathroom and the WC were very small however. it was very relaxing and welcoming with as much breakfast as you could possibly eat and unlimited amount of drinks from the machine. I loved the ambience and was very happy. It is expensive but all of Norway is expensive. Well you have to be fit and strong to get there on foot as there is no public transport up to the hotel. I dragged my suitcase up behind my husband moaning loudly as there was a steep hill. It was very easy to get down town but clients ought to be warned about the effort required to get there from the harbour or train station
The hotel is very nice, really historic-style. Nice rooms, very quiet and with a good view in the park. Breakfast very generous, in a fantastic dining room!
Very quiet and nice location by a public garden. Ten minutes walk from city center. Excellent breakfast buffet. Fair price.
