Pros: Great view of the mountains!
Cons: One office type chair and one softer chair in the room but not enough comfortable seating even though the room was quite large. We had 3 adults in our room so a small sofa would have been nice or at least one more comfortable chair.

Pros: Great rooms, very clean and spacious, seemed like it was brand new! Bed was very comfortable, bathroom was clean and the toiletries were very nice - they even gave you makeup remover wipes! The breakfast was good, and always nice when it's included! We were 5 minutes drive from anywhere we wanted to go in downtown Asheville. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was great that they also had a shuttle to downtown that dropped us off right in the center and picked us up when we were ready to go! Even the pool was very nice and refreshing. All in all, a great place.

Pros: Clean, beautiful finishes and interior. Free wifi and parking.
Cons: It seemed as though the laundry facilities two floors below was shaking bed during the spin cycle. Once we called the front desk to let them know, we didn't feel it again the rest of the night. We could also hear the upstairs guests loudly walk across the floor and could hear them talking although they seemed much louder than the average guests.

Pros: Great hotel although everything in this town is overpriced. Brand new and very clean
Cons: Staff sent us to someone else's room and barely apologized for it. They seemed like it was no big deal when we explained we walked in on someone.

Pros: Location, staff, and rooms
Cons: The noise level in our hotel room was unbelievable. We were informed that there was a family with 4 children under the age of 8 in the king room above us! I found it unbelievable especially since I had requested a quiet room for my birthday. This obviously did not happen and we found ourselves moving rooms at 11:00 pm! Great hotel but terrible noise insulation in rooms.

Pros: Location , decor ,service ,staff all great!
Cons: The only complaint that I have is that in our room (I don't know about other rooms) the lighting in the bathroom was very inappropriate by the sink which was the only the area where my makeup was to be applied. The other one is that there was no coffee dispener scoop for the coffee maker. Definitely not enough hangers! Other than that it was awesome!

Pros: The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was nice and modern. Right in the heart of downtown Asheville with a nice view.

Pros: Room was comfortable and clean. Cleaning staff was friendly and efficient. Snacks at front desk were reasonably priced ($1 for candy bar, $2 for a coke).
Cons: 1) w covid spacing and empty rooms, still placed a family w young children in adjoining room. They screamed yelled cried and fought past 1am and resumed their battles again at 7am. No action or compensation by staff. Very thin walls. 2) hotel has 3 locations in area. Thought we booked the one w the outdoor pool close to our destination. Found out upon arrival we had booked a different location. 3) due to covid there was no breakfast. In place received a paper bag w granola bar, banana, packaged muffin and water. Same each day. 4) Hotel was advertising a slightly cheaper price than we paid. Could not change our rate.

Pros: The hotel was convenient, clean, had a friendly staff and a good breakfast.
Cons: It was a bit difficult to find as it sat back from the road and had a smallish sign. Also, as I am an (outside) cigar smoker, the Smoking Area resembled an outside prison with tall cement walls and no furniture. A chair, table and ashtray would be nice. The hotel did say they were working on it.

Pros: The hotel is beautiful and the views are stunning. Just walking into the lobby is immediately calming.
Cons: I was very disappointed (and embarrassed, as staying here with a friend was my suggestion) with the room we were given. It had outdated wallpaper and green carpet, and the furniture was pretty beat-up. The bathroom was spacious, but had a tiny pedestal sink with nowhere for any toiletries. We had to keep all makeup, brushes, toothbrushes, etc on the dresser in the room. The bathroom looked like a hospital bathroom. There were 2 dim lamps in the room, with no mirror (except what looked like a medicine cabinet in the bathroom and a full- length mirror on the bathroom door - not helpful without good lighting). Not comfortable accommodations for two girls getting ready for dinner. Thankfully the beds were very comfortable. We spent over $300 for the room, which truthfully wasn't as nice as the La Quinta I stayed at 2 weeks ago. Based on other reviews, I am sure that there are more updated rooms available. I would insist on being assigned one of those. I will definitely be back to enjoy the beauty of the hotel, but will not be staying there again until they make some much needed updates.

Pros: Atmosphere was romantic, and the staff was helpful. Resort was beautiful, with very vintage-y and comforting style. Sports complex was plentiful, with an indoor pool, lots of tennis courts, weight room, cardio room, and pool tables. Great room bar tenders were quick to greet you, very good cocktails, and friendly.
Cons: We couldnt get in or out of self parking because our card didnt work the entire stay, it was really, really inconvenient because we went out a lot for lunch and dinner. They did credit us the parking fee. This place is definitely not a last minute romantic trip kind of place. You better plan in advance if you want any type of spa services and dinner here. The good thing is, its so close to downtown, there's quite a good amount of restaurants to pick from. Overall, if you are planning to venture out, stay somewhere else. If you plan to fully use the amenities at the resort and stay there most of the time, then it would be worth the money.

Pros: The staff is extremely accommodating and the property is beautiful
Cons: The rooms vary greatly! This isn't an issue unless they are all over priced. We had 4 rooms last weekend - all around 400$ a night. They were all different sizes because parts of the hotel are different. The room in the old part of the hotel was barely large enough to walk around a queen size bed.

Pros: The staff couldn't have been more friendly and accomodating. They helped us with resturant plans and Biltmore tours. We arrived back at our room to find complitmentary cheese and champagne to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. The entire ambience takes you back to another time when grand hotels were the place to stay in America. We didn't avail ourselves of the gym or spa (extra fee) but they looked inviting. The Grove is fairly close to the Biltmore (perhpas 3 miles?) which is close enough to make travelling back and forth and to downtown Asheville quick and easy but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of both areas.
Cons: As frugal seniors we wouldn't have chosen the Grove for our 40th wedding anniversary becasue of the cost but our children gave us a two night stay. At $400 per night with an additional $15 a night parking fee and $25 facilities use fee I equated it to the airlines and their charing "extra" fees. My opinon, if I'm paying close to $400 a night and not staying in a major cty, I think parking should be included in the price of the room. The room was one with a moutain view, comfortable and clean but. not the luxury I expected at that price. I may be being picky here but there were just two chairs in the room, the bath had only a shower and one sink. The room, with a king bed, was the style you'd find in any Hilton hotel but with a distant view of the mountains. If you stay here I would recommend a less expensive room and use the saved money to treat yourself to the Spa. We have stayed at the Mohonk Mountain House in NY and for about the same price had a fireplace in the room, trails and climbs on the property and breakfast/dinner included. I also think Monhonk is expensive but I think I'm comparing that inn with the Grove which may be unfair on my part. So my ONLY dislike was the value for the money but for the special occasion and since "the kids" were paying for it, what more can I say?.

Pros: Very beautiful property, my wife enjoyed the spa for about 6 hours.
Cons: We were in the oldest part of the building, above the lobby, on the 3rd floor. Noise would be my biggest compliant! It was fine in the afternoon when I could hear the piano playing from the lobby -- but at night, after 11:00PM, the restaurants and bars in the hotel need to keep their music lower so that it cannot be heard in the guest rooms. If I ever stay again I will not stay in that part of the hotel. We also had a crying baby next door to us (again after 11:00PM) but that would not be the hotels fault.

Pros: It was beautiful and all of the staff was extremely friendly!
Cons: It's small but you are charged a daily $25 fee for horrible coffee and "internet" which is NOT wifi. If I am going to pay for these extra things, I would expect them to be usable. In the world of smart phones and tablets, who carries a cable to plug into the internet? I have had better perks at a hotel half the price. I really expected more from a resort that is a part of the Omni family.

Pros: It was unique and historical.
Cons: It was not what was depicted on the Internet. We were deceived and no one seemed to care. It was dirty, small, and not the romantic get a way we had hoped for to celebrate our 10 year anniversary. We called to verify that the pool was included. It was but the pictures online were of the spa pool not the fitness club pool which was $140 more. Instead we spent our visit in the fitness pool. Barley luke warm, filled with screaming kids and no hot tub.

Pros: I love the location and ambience of the resort. You definitely need to have an extra stash of money for the parking and resort fees. Not to mention taxes on the resort fees. Pros: Really worth the price, because it is such a beautiful and storied hotel. Every single hotel employee attends to needs with genuine smiles. The simple pleasures reign supreme here, e.g. sitting by the fireplace, sunset cocktails overlooking the Blue Ridge Mountains, giant outdoor fire pits, hiking on the grounds. Did I mention the fireplace? The spa is just shy of acre and so gorgeous, I always intend to go, but there is so much else to do...
Cons: Nothing to dislike.

Pros: I loved the view in our "view" room. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was so spacious, clean, and comfortable! Bed was amazing, floors were super clean, and the whole experience was amazing. My girlfriend was very happy, and so it made our getaway wonderful. The walking distance to downtown was also one of our favorite features of the hotel. It was definitely worth it.
Cons: The only thing that held me back a little was the price. I paid $240 with taxes included, and didn't get as high of a floor as we wanted (4th), but it was very quiet and you couldn't really hear the traffic below so it was all good. I would definitely stay again. Knowing this room goes for $400+ on the weekends made me appreciate the value we were getting as well. It was definitely a wonderful experience.

Pros: Good location meant walking distance to all of downtown Asheville as well of easy highway access. Staff was friendly, and the hotel had a hip, modern feel.
Cons: Cost was high for lack of amenities. Modern design lacked some warmth as well as function. Created a louder atmosphere in a bad way, Doors closing on the floor we stayed could be heard at all hours. Really nothing to 'do' at the hotel so why was the price as high as others in the same area with full bars, restaurants and pools?

Pros: We liked Charles from room service. He was fast and mannerly.
Cons: This hotel is geared towards businesses and a place for wedding parties. There are charges to make a local call, charges to connect you to a taxi service and a $50 charge is added to your credit card that remains there for 3-5 business days after you've cleared your account. I understand some hotels have this practice, but I was not told the hotel would charge my account in this manner. When I found the charge on my credit card, I had to call the hotel and hang on for many minutes until someone could explain to me what the charge was for. Also, the navigator wasn't too knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The in-hotel restaurant is mediocre but charges $12.00 for a buffet breakfast that is one level above the continental breakfast served at Hampton Inns. I'd skip breakfast at this hotel and go downtown to a great coffee house. We only used the restaurant because we were given 2 $20 vouchers (included in our package). The breakfast wound up costing us $24 + a tip for greek yogurt and fruit. I would not recommend this hotel as my first choice.

Pros: Comfy beds. Friendly staff. Great location. The hotel itself is clean and very nice.
Cons: We stayed in a pet friendly room as we had our dog. Obviously we have a dog so I don’t have allergies to them but each time we went to the room I started wheezing and has congestion and sneezing. Has to use a rescue inhaler and take meds and nasal spray. I believe the staff is not doing a thorough cleaning and the dander from so many pets over time has built up and causing an issue.

Pros: The location in downtown Asheville is great, within walking distance of many restaurants, breweries and shops. The lobby is modern and nice and the staff was very helpful. Free in-room Wi-Fi is nice, albeit a little slow
Cons: You can tell this is an older hotel that has been remodeled. The bathroom was tiny and not very well lit. The bathroom door didn't latch and the TV reception was poor. We also had to request an extension cord because there were no outlets by the bed to plug a phone in overnight.

Pros: The location can't be beat in downtown Asheville.... Walking distance to the festivals, restaurants, bars, etc 1-5blocks away. Rooms are nice, comfortable, modern decor. Lobby is sophisticated yet not stuffy.
Cons: Barn door to the bathroom is stylish but doesn't provide much privacy or noise limitations when in the bathroom.

Pros: Hotel is old and needs updating. Overpriced. Bed was the worst we had ever slept in. TV didn't work. Room was noisy. We were on the 6th floor and could still hear anything that went on in the street. I would not recommend this hotel. Worst part was when I told the front desk about these problems they did not seem to care.

Cons: Decor too modern for my taste, very stiff visually and functionally in common areas

Cons: We were awakened by groups of loud drunken hotel guests at midnight, 2 am and 4am respectively with altercations involving other guests on our floor. There wasn't much sleep there. A hotel stay is only as good as your neighboring guests. In this case, the groups of obnoxious people had the ability to afford their night at this Marriott. I will never ever give this chain another sent of my money. Marriott price, Motel 6 antics.

Pros: Location to downtown was the reason for booking here. After a 1 night stay my wife and I are feeling awful. She is employed by a major hospital and had a doctor confirm our thoughts...all of our symptoms are usually cause by breathing in mold and mildew. We would never stay there again!!

Pros: I loved that the location was close and everything was within walking distance. Staff were very accommodating and pleasant. The room was clean and the bed was so comfortable.
Cons: The hotel was very loud, due to the activities and families staying there, but it made it difficult to sleep because every sound traveled through the walls at all hours.

Pros: The room was clean
Cons: They mentioned the free bottle of water in the room....hopefully that is enough because there isn't any more anywhere. 1 floor has vending, almost everything sold out. Also shower didn't work right. Not the worst by far but definitely way too much for what you get.

Pros: The room was a good size. They allowed pets. The crib was well built. The linens were very clean.
Cons: We were put in the first room on the bottom floor. It was very loud. It was hard for our 13 month old to sleep and even too loud for us to sleep. The staff wasn't very nice. They almost seemed upset that the hotel was full with evacuees. We had to call the main number to get a group discount applied. The onsite manager had refused to give it to us.

7.7
Pros: Entire floors of this hotel have recently been renovated and are a substantial improvement over the dark and dim hotel I stayed in two years ago. I would definitely stay here again, and the price is 60% off the aloft Hotel which is probably it's closest direct competitor, outside of the Renaissance just around the corner. It's within walking distance of all of the downtown attractions.
Okay
5.7
Pros: It was in a good location to walk to downtown restaurants and breweries if you enjoy the hippie scene that downtown Asheville has to offer.
Cons: The fire alarms went off in the middle of the night on and off for an hour. When I called the desk to ask if there was an emergency the concierge seemed oblivious to the fact that it was the middle of the night and all of the guests were being woken up by loud alarms. He was entirely unapologetic-- and there was no emergency. Every time I was about to fall back asleep the alarm went off again. Not what I'm looking for when I'm on vacation.

Pros: Room was designed nicely Great location good amenities
Cons: The television didn't work, even after I had a staff member come to look at it. He said he was unable to fix it. Phone to call down to the front desk didn't work at all. I had to request a Do Not Disturb tag. The cleaning staff used a chemical on the carpet that was extremely strong in smell.

Cons: The site is a step down from a Hampton. It's liveable but basic in all regards. Clanking noises all night, I think from pipes. Water took no kidding 10 minutes to warm up, not hot. Very very little water pressure. It was clean, cheap but I expected more in this space. Not doing a 100% renovation really hurts the Sheraton brand here. Lovely warm staff. Older building, old infrastructure. I wasn't unhappy but it could be much better if they invested in the property.

Pros: Staff was friendly. Room was nice and had lots of room.
Cons: It isn't close enough to walk to anything. The restaurant was mediocre. Our room was either stifling or freezing -- moving the thermostat one degree made the room unbearably hot -- but moving it back down was too cold. The facility is huge which meant a long walk to get to anything. Might have been nicer if the weather were warmer because the walking trail seemed nice -- but there wasn't much to do inside and due to the cold and wind, being outside wasn't a great option. There is an indoor pool but it is in a separate facility -- not very inviting in the cold. For the price, there are mch nicer options much closer to all the cool stuff in the city.

Pros: I liked the location. That's about it
Cons: Our professional organization had our conference there. We booked a year out and were promised no construction. The was construction and it affected everything. Due to the construction there was a restaurant moved into one of our meeting rooms so they gave us another room that our members had to walk outside in the cold several 100yds to. Even after we gave them a schedule of our events(twice) and they promised it wouldn't happen again there was roofing over our workshops and presentations that was so loud our speakers couldn't be heard. The staff was rude and far from quick to fix anything. Half our member didn't have hot water. There were ants in the room. Book with someone else. Horrible.

Pros: The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. All the staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. A nice way to start your day. Parking was plentiful and convenient. The Christmas decorations were abundant and lovely. All in all this hotel was much improved over the Holiday Inn Resort which it used to be ten years ago. Crowne Plaza has made many, many improvements and appears to be still doing so.
Cons: Bathroom was tiny and an obese person could not fit between the toilet and the vanity or the toilet and the tub. It was a one-person bathroom, and the door could not be opened or closed if someone were sitting on the toilet. The toilet paper was cheap and scratchy - like at one of the highway rest stops. The room carpet was filthy. The bed was new, clean, and very comfortable. The blankets were stiff and thin, but were very clean and enclosed in fresh sheeting. Much preferable to soft blankets that are often not washed at other hotels. But the room was still smelly from mildew of old, and my sinuses were badly affected by this. Dogs are evidently allowed in the rooms, as we were awakened by a loud, continuously barking dog near our room. No effort was made to silence the dog. This should not be permitted, or at least should be segregated to a far wing of the hotel. Our debit card was charged $50 for services not given or requested. This charge is still sitting on our bank statement as pending, thus making our vacation designated credit card declined for our return trip car gas purchase. If you plan to use a debit card, bring along plenty of cash, too. Fortunately we did. The roads from the hotel to downtown Asheville are very tricky and not convenient.

Pros: New rooms were great - super clean - everything new!

Pros: Our room was clean but dated. Room was large enough to fit queen beds but only had double beds.
Cons: Our travel plans originally included a 2-nite stay but due to travel challenges ended up being 1-nite. This turned out to be fine with us as the property was dated and didn't meet our expectations for a place to get R&R after a long drive. This property is essentially a motel with some resort activities available to registered guests.

Cons: We called to ask for an early check in and they said no which was fine, but they said they wouldn’t have it ready by check in time either, so we had better wait a while and come later. Although we thought that was odd and had to change our plans, we found something to do and arrived an hour after check in. We got there and they only had smoking rooms left when we reserved a non smoking room. We sucked it up and went to our room, which wasn’t cleaned fully - the bathroom wasn’t done which was obvious because there were rags and a loose bar of soap lying around.

The parking lot did not feel safe, and sure enough we woke up one morning and the car parked beside ours had it's window busted in with glass everywhere and a hammer laying next to it.
