Located in Downtown Anchorage, this hotel is 0.3 mi (0.5 km) from Delaney Park and 1.4 mi (2.3 km) from Sullivan Arena. Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center and Oscar Anderson House Museum are also within 15 minutes.
Its an old and run down hotel with poor amenitiesPros: location to airport
Renamed IT "Inlet Towers" to "Into the Twilight Zone"Pros: Nothing. Outlets did not work. 1970 TV. No internet. Fan did not work. Only two dim lights and smelled like stale McDonalds. I did like checking out after an hour.Cons: The service was awful, rude and disrespectful. To top it off, the guy we dealt with was the manager/owner. Room was worse than a motel 6 in the getto.
Pros: I like inlet towers for the valueCons: Shower drain very slow to drain. Toilet awkward location behind bathroom door. Old facilities. Hair on couch. Dirty baseboards. Poor air circulation.
It was ok for the price I paidPros: I booked my room on hotel.com so I paid $57 a night. Stayed in room 1504. For whatever reason I was upgraded to their top floor with a kitchenette, two queen sized beds, and a view of the mountains and water. (I booked a regular 1 queen bed room).
The restaurant was really good but very pricey! The restaurant staff is so nice and super great. Food and drinks were tasty!
I had the shuttle pick me up from the airport at 3:30am- takes about 20-30 mins for them to get there. They said the reason for the wait is that they were warming the van up (it was warm). The guy driving the van was extremely nice he even offered to make a breakfast run for me!
If you're driving parking is easy and right out front of the building.
Very close to downtown - if it weren't freezing we could have walked about 3-5 blocks to get to downtown!
I would probably stay here again just because I like to travel cheap and this is the cheapest 3 star hotel in Anchorage. I am staying here again in April, will right another review!
Cons: It wasn't the cleanest....the fridge had visible dirt in it. There were random brown splatters on the walls and ceiling. Hair in the bathroom (every where). Toilet and towels were about the only thing that was really clean in the bathroom. I will note the bedding was clean and smelled fresh!
There is wonderful looking wallpaper on the walls and in the far corner (next to the bed I did not use) the entire corner of the wall is loose and you can lift it away from the studs in the wall.
Every day I was there my key would not work (4 nights). It's kind of a pain to go from the 15th floor to get a new key. They blamed it on us because cell phones deactivate them however my boyfriend had it in his wallet the entire time.
I had tried calling the night before my stay ended to see what time the shuttle left in the morning and no one would answer the front desk phone from 10pm-11pm.
You can hear everything through the walls. Everything your neighbors do can be heard. Luckily we only had "neighbors" 2 of our 4 nights.
Bad stayPros: Ride from and to the airportCons: Staff, guests, rooms, beds, phone wasn't working, heard about bed bugs, i was charged with a 20 dollar fee for getting there an hour earlier, I would've gotten a better hotel for that price. I don't reccomend this hotel.
Pros: Good location. Spacious room. Comfortable beds. Nice market nearby. Walkable to city center and parks/trails.
good view but not cleanPros: excellent viewCons: could not sleep due tp bed bugs
Older Alaskan HotelPros: The room had heat and air conditioning. It was cleanCons: The bed was the lumpiest thing I've ever slept on.
Good value for AnchoragePros: Close enough to everything that you could walk. Large parking lot. Big room. Hotel itself is a bit dated and could use a makeover. Friendly staff.Cons: Rooms smelled a little musty.
The cheapest safe downtown placePros: Free parking and priceCons: Place is outdated and rooms are small.
Pros: Compared to other Hotel rates in area, rates were great. Room was large and had a microwave and refridgerator. Restaurant had good food.
Cons: Bad- hotel is dated and needs to be renovated. Tv was 20 plus years. Bath had mold around tub and hot water was like warm. Sheets were wrinkled like maybe they weren't changed. They also were very thin. There was no fitted mattress pad or a fitted sheet. Mattress was warn out and had lumps.
Needs good maintenence worker Pros: Not much the lobby was deceptivly clean and well built then going up stairs total oppositeCons: Room was broken in so many ways yellow stains in tub back splash broken like it had been punched base board not even attached to wall in most places entry door was loose which makes security an issue quick easy repairs unless maintenece is completely incompotent just about every applience out dated and worn down i could repair all damages in about 2 hrs not very happy and was looking for a month or more stay just doing trial run wont stay again and will not let any friends stay there.
