7.9 Good
Pros: This hotel is fine for business travel. It seems very safe with onsite security and someone at the front desk 24/7. The restaurant is nice in a pinch, but there are some good restaurants nearby. I went to La Gavia restaurant nearby and was very satisfied.
Cons: The room had an odd smell. I was there during some rains and used the portable radiator that was in the room. I think the radiator might have emitted a oily smell when it was running, not sure.

Featured amenities include a computer station, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 3 meeting rooms available for events. Free valet parking is available onsite.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room 705
Cons: Neighbor around hotel has lots of dogs that barked all night. We had to close windows and use the AC despite the beautiful weather.
3.3 Mediocre
Cons: Check in tool forever, seemed like the check in desk was training someone while checking us in- but with very little communication as to why it was taking so long. And they had to check room first too- and we were not checking in early either. Then when we finally got to the room the aircon didn't work. Also the wondow in the shower looked into the room next door!? And nowhere was a wifi password to be found. I walked down and asked for assistance. Got the wifi details - but was told they'll help with aircon in a bit. About 2 hours later someone came to room to let us know that we can change rooms. They didn't even try to fix aircon or see what was wrong. So we moved. And the second room was about half the size and with no windows except the one looking out to the passage way.... Room was stuffy and cramped despite being a triple. The bedding was uncomfortable and half the plugs didn't work. Also... The bathroom had no windows, no extractor fan so very humid and the shower door was so bent it couldn't close properly. And the wash basin was in the middle of the room.. which is strange. The check-out was also a struggle, not because I don't speak Spanish but because the hotel staff make no effort to communicate with you. For the price we paid I was very unsatisfied and unhappy with place. The hotel is beautifully decorated inside and outside- looks like it has loads of potential, but the service needs a lot of work.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Good decor. Big rooms
Cons: Customer service. Wifi didn’t work for few days on my floor and they didn’t fix it despite repeated complaints

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The area of the hostel is super nice. A quiet neighborhood but just nearby the historical center. And the beautiful garden of the hostel:)))
Cons: The help from the employees:))
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a great hostel in a convenient central area. The interior garden is lovely and peaceful, the kitchen and relaxation areas are great and the dorms and rooms are too. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I really felt at home staying there for a week. Highly recommended!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location very convenient, right in the city center. The staff is very kind and supportive.
Cons: I found two cockroaches in my room the day I arrived
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owners are incredibly friendly and accommodating. During my stay the open courtyard was full of rabbits, which provided great entertainment, and the open kitchen and dining area were added bonuses, perfect spots for mingling with other guests and travelers. The shared rooms are simple and the location ideal for exploring the downtown area. I highly recommend staying here.
Cons: The shared bathrooms could be cleaner, but for the price it's still a steal
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly guy at reception. Price.
Cons: I wasn't given a towel. I didn't know there were any. There was no coffee at breakfast. There were no lights in the yard to easily find your way to the bathroom at night. There were bedbugs or some other bugs that bit me in the night that took me many days to recover from. There was a toilet seat on only one of the toilets. Broken furniture in the bedroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was healthy in a good size. The location is great I was able to go anywhere either walking or using public transportation. More over, the kitchen is awesome.
Cons: There is nothing to improve. It is an awesome place to stay in.
4.6 Okay
Cons: I arrived really tired and ready to rest when the receptionist told me they had given my private room reservation to someone else. He was giving me disparate answers as to why and was not prepared to give me a solution. He mainly blamed it on the person working the earlier shift. I ended up staying and getting a bed in the dormitory because I didn't want to deal with trying to find another place. He took me to the dormitory and told me there (actually he didn't even bring it up, I had to ask him) after I had paid that they had no more keys to the room to give us so we would not be able lock it. Furthermore, we couldn't even close the door when leaving because the door would lock itself and we would have no way to get back in unless we called staff. To top it all off, at the end he didn't give us our deposit back for the building key. Maybe he didn't remember, but I suspect he knew and just didn't have the money available. Just like the room key situation, he seemed afraid to bring it up. I let it go because it was only 20 pesos and I just wanted to leave. They did let me leave my luggage after checkout to pickup later and didn't charge me for a towel so that's good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The garden and the serenity of the place
Cons: The area around the hostel is super nice and quiet and near to the center

Cons: It has a moisture Smell in the restroom.
6.0 Good
Pros: Good car parking and security.
Cons: Very dull / poor lighting in bathroom. Average to below average bed linen. Only 1 pillow each on the bed, no hand towel most days, very uncomfortable desk chair that required my pillow just to prevent discomfort - even then the ergonomics of the desk / chair are bad.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole hotel looks like a beautiful colonial house with so many details that make you feel in another era. The restaurant is also a good option to have breakfast- ours was included. As far as I could see, there are local ladies cooking which is an extra since NO ONE can cook better than local 'señoras'. Do yourself a favour and try enfrijoladas and enchiladas. The staff was extremely helpful at all times
Cons: Perhabs because of the season of the year but the heat was too intense and the fan they provided was not enough. Also, the room was way too light and woke us up early in the morning since the upper part of the room has no courtains.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff was very friendly, room was clean and cossy, hot water available.
Cons: I can't think of anything I didn't like about the hotel, although I could've used a couple of complimentary tea bags in the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: the location is excellent and the place is very beautiful
Cons: a lot of light enters the room at night
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Best hotel I have stayed while in Veracruz. Staff, room were a pleasant surprise. Clean, location and tour guide availability were superb.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We like the gardens the most. They also had a small restaurant that provided breakfast.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location is in downtown and the building is very beutiful, personnel was very helpful and professional.
Cons: It was a foul smell, maybe drainage pipes in one of the rooms, which was a bit unconfortable for the family.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, charming small hotel on a quiet street just a few blocks from the center of town, near many cafes and restaurants. Shower has plenty of hot water. Everything is super clean. There are palm trees and bouganvilla in the courtyard. Staff helped us get taxis. The breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommend this place.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleaness
Cons: Tv signal, channels, not smart tv
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Price. For what you pay and what you get, an excellent value.
Cons: A/C wasn't working so we were forced to change our room. You need A/C in Veracruz.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff is friendly and very attentive. Valet great bunch of guys. Front desk staff friendly.
Cons: Furniture is a little dated. Front desk staff at first was not very flexible, but have now become more interested in our needs and I believe see our loyalty to the brand. This has now become our hotel and would not stay anywhere else.........
7.1 Good
Pros: Very good prices and food
Cons: The light went off in the whole hotel and they didn’t have an emergency power generator... it’s a huge hotel and it doesn’t have one! So there was no light for hours, I had an event and wasn’t able to fix my hair, because I couldn’t use the hairdryer or the iron... My daughter was going to stay all day there and couldn’t even charge her cellphone, couldn’t use of the telephone in the room nor the elevators of course, so it messed out whole day... I still can’t believe it’s not mandatory for a hotel like this to have a power generator. Other than that, it was all ok.
Hotel Imperial - Xalapa-Enríquez - Building
13
8.3 Excellent (350 reviews)
AED 132+
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Hotel Imperial in Xalapa, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Juarez Park and Interactive Museum of Xalapa (MIX). Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is confortable, even if not refined in every detail, and the bed is very good. The food of the restaurant combined with the hotel is good and the room service is available and free. The WIFI is good. I had a lot of problem in connecting my PC to the net, DNS wasn't resolving anything, but the staff solved the problem in 10-15 minutes. Positive!
Cons: Unfortunately in the hotel there was a group of young guys that made a lot of noise, both evening and the morning, and the staff didn't intervened to raise down the volume. My room didn't have a window to the outside, but only an internal one. The staff does NOT speak english. I don't have much problem because, being italian, I understand spanish as the two languages are quite similar but if you work in the world of tourism you MUST know and speak english. The position of the hotel is in a bending hill. I didn't park in front of it because I judged making operations to park too dangerous for the risk of other cars coming down the road and possibly hitting me.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value. It's a charming little hotel if you get he right room, could be depressing if you don't. Ask for a room with a window facing the street, it makes all the difference. The girl at the front desk was fantastic. I arrived early and was given a room. It was an inside room and had no window. I asked for a different room and she gave me a room facing the street (those rooms have small step out balconies and windows). This is a no frills place on a street a few blocks from centro, but offers great value and an excellent staff. Clean. Friendly. Free continental breakfast. I was happy with it and would stay there again (as long as I can get a room with a window). Early check in time at 1:00 was a major bonus.
Cons: No a/c in the room so if that's a priority, you will not be happy. Inside room had a fan. Outside room had ample air flow from outdoors. Small bathroom but good hot water and water pressure, so it was not an issue. In a good neighborhood, but not in the middle of the action, so you'll need a taxi or walk a few blocks. No English from the staff I met. It didn't bother me because they were friendly and let me fumble through my Spanish, but if English is priority, you might be out of luck.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: - Breakfast included (received more eggs then normally offered) - hot water immediately available - parking place in front of the hotel available
Cons: - parking place not closed - room to small

7.5 Good
Cons: Keys self Blocked frequently
8.0 Excellent
Cons: The shower had a very small water flow, and not that much of hot water. The parking space was very little
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was typical Mexican, toasted bread with butter & jelly, eggs (3 different choices of cooking), choicev fruits and a colored drink called coffee. Don't getting wrong, breakfast was super, but even though Veracruz is a coffee producing state, Mexican drink very very light coffee, that tasted and looked like colored water! Thankfully I could get an espresso doppio or a lungo almost everywhere in town to keep me up! Room was booked with a safe, I was informed that the rooms in the 2d floor didn't come with a safe. The front desk employee said that they will install one shortly. To my surprise a safe was installed within an hour and a half after checking in!
Cons: Wasn't able to mix the water properly in the shower. water was hot. Absence of light above the vanity mirror in the bathroom. Had to use in the dresser mirror.
7.1 Good
Cons: I had stayed before (at least 3 times) and found it was ok. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable for a reasonable price, and for my purposes, in an excellent location. However, this time there was a little (1.5 cm) cockroach in the room just as we checked in and the staff member simply squashed it right there after I complained and took it out with his hand, accompanied by a barely audible, half-hearted apology. Later the wifi router didn't have an internet output, and when I told the staff they said it was my phone, and that they weren't having any issues with their router (a different one behind the register counter). I indeed was able to have a connection from the register router, but as I went back to my room and my phone switched to the nearest router, I again lost my connection. I was tired and refused to tell the staff as they were showing little interest in their guests anyway. The last time I stayed I took the included breakfast. I asked for some eggs, and they were served with *a lot* of cooking oil. So do yourself a favor and go have a decent breakfast downtown at La Parroquia, which is nearby.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: My family and I came to Xalapa for a last minute trip for my Grandma’s funeral. We were pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Very reasonable price for what you get. The location is awesome and I felt very safe the whole time. The breakfast was perfect. A lady got our order for the type of eggs we wanted and we could also get toast with butter/jelly, tortillas, fruit, coffee or orange juice. It was good!! Staff was extremely friendly and professional. I am what you would consider a high maintenance person but this place definitely did the trick.
Cons: There is so no elevator but they helped with the luggages. The walls are very thin. It seemed like I could hear people in rooms next to us. However, I put earplugs and that did the trick. Water pressure was low but I guess that’s common in Mexico.

7.5 Good
Cons: Keys self Blocked frequently

Pros: Very good Locationwise. Spacious Room / Lockers. Stayed in a Private Room where 4 people would fit. Nice Staff, Clean Areas and Rooms. I think it was not really busy, we just saw 2 other guests there so no real Hostelvibe, but thats no ones fault :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is done right. Really clean.

Pros: Staffs are nice
Cons: Couldn’t sleep well, very noisy, close to the street
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic hostel! Spotlessly clean, very comfortable, nice large metal lockers, convenient location, reliable WiFi, and has flat surfaces next to electrical outlets if you need to work.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything is clean, toilets and shower rooms well set and parking next to the building, perfect for a busy street.
Cons: There was not too much of a social atmosphere. The hostel is big and includes a big outdoor space in the top floor but there was no one in there. You cannot pay by credit card.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They helped me with phone charging. The breakfast was varied and very high quality. The beds had a very special healthy design.
