I know, I know, hotels are supposed to offer the latter, but I'm pointing it out because the hostel I was checking in at San Juan Old Town wasn't open 24/7 so finding an affordable room for my first night in San Juan was such a big deal for me. Pros (+) This place is dirty. The staff is rude. the shower is in the closet. No towels. No wash clothes. They put two twin beds and called it a king.

Pros (+) Felt safe and clean there. Close to the beach and restaurants. All the parking meters were broken, so it was actually easy to find free parking. Very no frills room.
Cons (-) Taking our luggage up three flights of stairs. No elevator.

Pros (+) Location was wonderful, easily accessible to many restaurants and beaches. Room was cleaned daily, sheets, towels all replaced and floor swept. Great place to stay if you are on a budget, overall everything was wonderful. We did not want to leave!

Pros (+) Worst experience with a Hotel I have ever had!!! Once in my room I noticed that the A/C was not working, so I contacted front desk and of course there is no on staff to repair it. I waited 3 hours to be moved to another room as I was left sweating to death. I receive my new room the A/C was acceptable.
