Pros:This hotel is amazing in every aspect. The hotel sits on the side of a hill that has a beautiful view of the valley below. It is literally right across the street from Hotel Barcelo where many events are held and it is about 1/8 of a mile from El Patio, an amazing authentic Nicaraguan restaurant. The hotel is much more like an exquisite bed & breakfast than an international hotel. From the outside, the hotel looks like a beautiful colonial style house with large windows and beautiful landscaping. The landscaping includes a small pool that is probably more for relaxing enjoyment than it is for swimming or activities. The front patio is large and has rocking chairs neatly arranged where you can enjoy the landscaping and view of the valley below. The entrance to the hotel is beautiful. You feel as if you are walking into a house of royalty with beautifully tiled floors and elegant architecture. The rooms are HUGE. They include a small kitchen with a fridge, microwave, stove, and sink complete with a set of dinnerware. We were given a room on the first floor which comes with a large window that spans the whole length of the wall and looks out into the beautiful garden landscape. My fiance and I could not stop talking about how amazing the shower is. It is a walk in shower with beautiful tile. The water pressure is the strongest water pressure I have ever had in a shower (almost too much). One word of caution, the staff only speaks Spanish. Although, my little Spanish coupled with a lot of body language usually got my message across. I found myself using Google translate a few times, but the staff was very understanding and patient. Everyone from the security guards to the front desk was very attentive and kind. They always greet you with a smile and are anxious to help. They were able to call us a taxi whenever we needed and they also serve a great breakfast every morning. When we were researching our options for hotels in Managua, we were debating between this hotel and Hotel Barcelo. I had stayed at Barcelo before and it is beautiful, but I am so glad that we chose to stay at this hotel instead. It feels much more authentic and it is less expensive than Barcelo. This kind of hotel would easily cost $200 a night in the US. If you are looking for a more authentic Nicaraguan experience, this is your hotel. We will definitely be staying here again when we return to Managua.
