Hôtel Carlton Lyon - Mgallery

Pretty building in an good area for shops and tourist restaurants not too far.

We booked 2 double rooms and paid the identical amount for both. One was lovely and large with a large shower room and the other was small with a really small shower room and the toilet seat was broken and moved around. I asked to have the room changed to one the same as the large room as didn’t without a broken loo seat. They changed the room but obviously weren’t happy about doing so. It was another small room next to an old fashioned, slow and very noisy elevator so if you are a medium or light sleeper, this could be an issue at 3 and 4 am! The towels in the bathroom had long black hairs all over them which was quite unpleasant so I went to reception and had them changed. With so much choice of accommodation in Lyon I definitely wouldn’t choose here again, we should have rented a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom apartment with areas to relax as there wasn’t really an area to relax in the hotel without spending a lot on drinks. Also, breakfast was €26 per person so we went to a nice cafe around the corner which was €10 each and very tasty and wonderful French atmosphere. When we returned in the evenings, there were 2 sugar sweets thrown on our bed. Not sure the point of this as nothing else was done so you can’t even call it a turn down service.
