Price appears $1 low to any other place but if you choose this hotel based on this, you won't forgive yourself Good for one night stay. Truck driver's. Don't expect much from here even the basics like decent toilet Broken toilet Intruder? Uninvited service? Don't know who. Some one did enter into my room in my absence and luckily did nothing. Low standards and you see many people with pick up trucks and lot of junk in it. Free breakfast has just little milk and cereals. Nothing else. The morning staff is rude. They tried to teach me how to make a waffle. No kitchen items, it's just a hotel not extended stay. Bath tub is yuk. Overall I give this place 0.5 out of 5
The guy at the front desk seemed friendly The location is not great, 15 minute drive unless you want fast food, room was trash, air didn't work, cracked front window in my room, walls were falling apart, room smelled like cigars and smoke. I got a refund and left as soon as I walked into the room.
Staff person on night duty (Amber) was polite, helpful and good-natured. Morning staff was similarly cheerful, friendly, and professional. Several lighting fixtures didn't work; coffee maker supplies but no coffee maker; sink stopper wouldn't close, which makes shaving a challenge; tiny, worn bath towels barely large enough to wrap around a 32" waist, and only two per room instead of the standard three; cheap mattress where you could feel the individual mattress coils; bath spigot loose as if about to fall off of the shower wall; shower curtain bar similarly loose; practically everything worn and frayed. Outside of room: cigarette butts litter the stairs, walks, vending areas; breakfast service limited and low quality. Lastly, the place doesn't feel safe. Vending machines have wire security mesh riveted in place over the glass to prevent theft; after hours the staff transact business through a small, dirty window facing the parking area unless they feel safe enough to buzz customers in through the security doors. The place suffers from a lack of management attention, care and commitment to basic plant maintenance and operating procedure. Don't stay here.
Friendly staff Bathtub did not drain
The location I didn't like the staff they were very rude and wasn't very accomendating
clean rooms helpful staff maid service good mini fridge microwave coffeepot great place for the money
We stopped here after a very stressful drive and were highly disappointed. The room wasn't very clean, the shower did not work, and the breakfast was only offered until 9 A.M. When I walked in with my 2 young daughters to check out and get them something to eat at 9:20, the clerk wouldn't even offer us cereal. I told her about the shower and she offered a key to another room which wasn't practical at that point, but no apology. There are several other places to stay in the same price range. We will not stay here again.
The staff was great! The facilities are basic and minimal. I don't recommend a place for kids due to the area. The area
The night shift clerk was awesome. Everything. The bed spread was ripped. There were holes in the walls from missing pictures. The carpet was dirty. I didnt even thinknabout getting in the shower. I could go on and on....
Nothing Major upgrades needed in aspect
Interior hallways. Friendly staff
The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. The room needed updating, especially the tv - it was on the fritz but I didn't care- I just needed a safe place to lay my head down and this was perfect.
Close to main highway. Also cleanliness. Felt like I was going to fall threw shower floor. Couldnt talk to most staff due to not being bilingual. Didn't know area to find stores & restaurants.
Room was unexpectedly awesome! just needs some tlc on the outside and the breakfast could be a lot better. Fix the pool too. Outside leaves a lot to be desired and is dirty. But the rooms were super nice.
There were cockroaches in the room. Disgusting.
The best part was having a roof over my head. That was it The "non-smoking" room smelt like a cigarette had just been lit. The comferter had cigarette burns in the cover. Bathroom was rusty and only came with 1 towel
ONLY THING GOOD WAS THE NEW MATTRESS VERY COMFORTABLE BUT REST IS A DUMP!! NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL $80+ RIDICULOUS STAY AT MARRIOTT NEXT TIME!!
I needed a hotel for two nights and didn't have two to three hundred to spend on it, and this hotel was perfectly adequate for the price I paid--about half of what other wedding-goers paid for their rooms. Also, getting the room with two double beds allowed us to split the cost with others and save even more having this adequate stay. I did not feel unsafe or scared while staying there. Well, if I'm going to complain about a hotel that was--keep in mind--only $60 a night, there was a little lime buildup in the shower, the beds were hard, and the fridge was cooler-than-room-temperature but I don't know that I would trust it for perishables or medicine like insulin.
Close to airport, bed comfortable The room is old, needs updating, needs to be cleaned better
Cheap price Didn't feel clean Odd staff Cigarette burns Not safe
The keys to the room use close proximity detection, so you can keep them in your wallet and just wave that by the door. Has walls and Roof. Most of the outlets in our room did not work. Even the fridge wasn't running when we first got there because the plug wouldn't properly stay seated in the wall. The hair dryer wouldn't work unless you were putting pressure on the plug. And forget trying to charge your phones, computers, tablets, etc. This hotel is very close to the airport. This wasn't a huge issue for me, but the Ms. wasn't too thrilled about it. I found the departures and arrivals of passenger planes quite soothing. HOWEVER, there was one point when what sounded like an F-16 fighter took off. That was very, very loud, and is almost guaranteed to alarm the women and children in your party.
Stayed 1 night during a long distance drive. Not a bad place, no incidents to report. The room itself seems a little retro-themed, but I found everything to be VERY clean. The included breakfast was nice, and the waffle maker works fine. Would stay again.
This is more of a place where you go to cheat on your girlfriend as oppose to a place where you go to spend the night. but it wasn't so bad I've seen worse.
Friendly staff, efficient check in. Room seemed to have a bit of a funny smell, not overpowering.
Bed bugs and ticks were ask all over the bed and room.
The price was right, you get what you pay for. We needed a room for one night close to the airport, and this served the purpose just right. Very close and easy access from main roads, and quick and easy to get to the airport. Gas station right across the street allowed us to re fuel our rental car before we took it back in. Staff was friendly and helpful (most are when you are friendly to them). I would not stay hear for a long family get away, but if all you need is a budget night near the airport, it is hard to beat. small room, small bathroom, 1/2 size tub, not much choice on breakfast, but then that is what I was expecting for a Super 8 at this price. I am amazed by the reviews some people post, expecting to get 5star service in a 3 star room. If you want 5 star, then pay the 200 dollars and get it.
The picture of the city on the wall was beautiful This place was dirty the floor boards were discolored . I could tell none of the doors were wiped off in forever. The bathroom was gross. I cleaned everything before we put any of our stuff in the room. The refrigerator was so dirty it was brown and yellow discoloration all in it. I was dissatisfied.
Everything Everything was good but the only thing was that the room smelled like cigarettes
The Microwave in the room did not work. When I went for breakfast, the waffle maker did not work either. Small things but these little items can make or break an experience.
Nothing. Maybe location.... And friendly staff(however the only interaction with them was 2 chk n and out) Omg..... Everything!!!! Everything was dirty.... Bug legs from squished pest on the walls..... The smell!!!!! We had to go buy candles.... And they made me sign dating they would charge me 250 for smoking n a non-smoking room!?!?!?....it was NOT a non-smoking room....it reaked..... We walked around with socks on that turned BLACK.... We travel alot and aren't picky.... I nvr bother leaving reveiws... This time I had to warn ppl tho..... Just don't!!!!
Location to Charlotte Airport. 1. Room Not Cleaned Well!!!! Dirty tissue on floor. Beer bottle cap on A/C unit. Mirror in vanity area Dirty and still had water spots all over it. 2. Room was a Non-Smoking Room yet the smell of smoke was highly present. Could still smell the smoke the next night at home through my C-PAP machine!!!! 3. Floor is soft and spongy. 4. They have overloaded electrical outlets and outlets that won't hold plug in it... 5. dresser drawers that were broken 6. Be aware that on the phone they'll inform you that the shuttle is free but then, try to charge you up to $15.00 to take you to the airport.
The room and bathroom were very clean , plenty of room. The wake-up call was very timely, as it was the shuttle to the airport. The staff was very friendly. We would stay here in the future.
Prompt airport shuttle, decent continental breakfast, clean room Two choices for the shower: broiling or freezing. They seemed to be a bit understaffed at the front desk.
This is an excellent facility. Friendly staff.
The bed was comfortable The floors were dirty the tub was dirty. We booked this room for a short layover night stay and to utilize the airport shuttle. The man tried to tell us we needed to pay more to use the shuttle. He said it wasn't included. He wanted to have my husband run across the street to take out money to pay him. He even said we will stop before we go to the airport. We only had an hour since the earliest shuttle was at 4:30. Very unprofessional and trying to take advantage of people.
The best part about this Hotel is the price. I received 4 nights for just over 160$. The room was absolutely disgusting. My girlfriend was afraid to even sit on the bed. The smoke alarm was completely detached and the entire room smelt like smoke (it was non smoking). There were scary people in and around the hotel. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. It is not right a road highway and instead is located behind another building on a sketchy small road. I refused to get in the bed or even take a shower while there. If you are going for a nascar race stay in Kannapolis or Concord. stay away from this hotel!!
Nothing don'tStaff had no. clue what they were doing. Took an hour and a half to cecum in late at night. Told us they did not. Have the rooms. Sent us to occupied and I cleaned rooms. Fin lay checked and rooms were marginal at best. My non smoking room reaked of smoke as did my pillow. Will. Ever stay at a Motel 6 again.
Nothing Left some of my dress shirts in my room. When I realized it less than 12 hours after leaving I called to see if I could come back by and pick them up. But they magically disappeared.
I quite honestly didn't like anything about the place except that I woke up alive Our first impression of the place was speaking through a thick wall of glass to a woman who didn't have a big girl voice. When we finally got to our room, it was on the 2nd floor and non-smoking. From the sketchy environment outside to the tiny little box of a room we were confined to-this place was horrible. We entered our room to find hair on the sink, bath tub, pretty much anywhere you wouldn't want hair. There was no shampoo or conditioner-good thing I brought my own. I've noticed in the past even your most basic motel has a hair dryer, nope not this one. I'm glad we woke up alive in the morning because this place was swarming with people doing shady things at night. My favorite part of the area was getting to watch a police helicopter spotlight the area for what seemed to be a criminal on the loose-great location! Safe to say, we will NOT be returning to this motel as wonderful as it may sound. I highly suggest no one stays here, waste of $64
Location was good easy access to the highway Needs updating bathroom was not the greatest but a good value you get what you pay for
Very friendly and helpful staff, able to book only a couple days ahead of arrival; easy access from I-77S toilet valve stuck and had to be manually put down after flushing toilet
Reception staff were pleasant Room was filthy!
I went to NC for a family emergency and had limited funds. It was cheap and the room was clean. You can tell they vacuumed and had clean sheets, towels. Bed was fairly comfortable. I was exhausted from driving 900 miles in one day. Air conditioner worked excellent! I was nervous about that when I first saw the place and the lobby (if you can call it that) was hot. It was quiet and outside was clean of litter despite the deplorable looking condition. It is an old building that they took over, Remote desolate area, shabby is kind of to good to say. Obviously they clean but made no repairs or upkeep. Peeling counters, exterior crumbling looking, At first I was kind of scared to stay there, the aura is that of what you see on police dramas with questionable people. Fridge was not plugged in .
location it definitely needs a makeover. best update those online photos of the inside of the rooms. looks like they just bought the joint and hadn't had anytime to fix it up.
the staff was accommodating, and friendly not a very clean place but it was a place to sleep room was dirty comforter dirty carpet very dirty parking lot has a lot of pot holes
Trust me, you dont want to stay there' This is a nasty place to stay! Everything is old , smell bad and everything bad about this place, there is a lot more places to stay around for the same rate, just keep looking!
Was available at last minute for a room. Facilities looked a little run down, but was clean.
Nothing. There is no cleanliness. The location is bad. I would suggest to stay in your own car rather than go to this place.
What did I like? Putting this motel in the rear view mirror of my car, behind me. The listing description promised free breakfast and free WiFi, there were none. That was a lie. The mattress were old and dipped in the middle. The bathroom door wouldn't close. The one chair in the room was so stained that we wouldn't put anything on it. You got one little sliver of soap, and that was it. The few towels they gave you were small and thin. I would have rather stayed at the Bates motel.
I felt safe there. Cheapest motel I could find in Charlotte. I arrived late (4am) and I had to ring the bell for about 5 min before someone came to the front desk. The lady had trouble finding my reservation (I don't think the front desk had any computer). Because of that I think, it took 20 min to check me in which was unfortunate because I wanted very badly to get to my room to sleep. The health inspection rating was 80.5 which is very low. The pillow sheets had stains on them. The bath towels said "Hospital Property" on them. The bathroom and sink looked ancient. I knew the place had terrible ratings when I chose to stay there but it was the cheapest I could find and I was curious. I can safely say that only the brave should stay here.
They had really nice showerheads There were no non-smoking rooms, and not all of the outlets worked.
There wasnt anything I particularly liked about this hotel. My husband and I, along with a mutual friend, had came to charlotte to find a house to buy. We had drove from New jersey 8pm the previous night and had spent the whole next day looking at properties. We were exhausted, as you can imagine, and were planning on leaving at 8pm that night. It was around 4pm and we decided to call around and see who offered hourly rates. Since we were only going to occupy the hotel for 4 to 5 hours we didnt see the need of paying a full nights price. As we called, no one offered us any deals so I decided to look on Kayak for something cheap and came accross budget Inn. As we drove on the property we could see that all of the downstair rooms were open with all the furniture outside on the curb. There also seemed to be a couple of prostitutes hanging around in the parking lot. I went in the lobby and no one was at the desk. I rang the bell and was waiting for someone to come for at least 10 min. When she came i asked about the rooms and she said that they were being renovated. Even though I had reserved online, the ckeck in process was quite long. We got our key and went upstairs. Everything was dated. Nothing seemed too dirty, but with what I had seen outside i couldnt even lay my head on the pillows afraid that I would catch something. I took my sweater off and put it on the pillow and laid on top of the comforter. next time I would rather spend the money to get a good nights sleep.
It was cheap, but not nearly cheap enough. Area was so sketchy that I did not feel comfortable parking a rental car in their lot despite surveillance. Really, it is quite amazing to me this business is permitted to operate in it's current condition. Signs everywhere about Police Department oversight, rules about visitors etc... Environment seemed more like that of a bad halfway house as opposed to a hotel/motel. Very unclean and obviously unsafe. Also, I believe this establishment makes a significant amount of their income from cancellation fees as the management seemed to make it a point to be unavailable. All in all this was bad enough to be untenable as a place to sleep. Would not even call it a hotel, just a crack den using Kayak/Hotwire to scam people online.
The staff was awesome. For the cheap price tge facilities were actually really accommodating and cleaner than others. The wifi wasn't very strong.
Roaches in the room ,no iron or board.
The location is nice, and the couple of restaurants and gas stations located near-by are convienent. The young women working at the counter after 1am would not honer us a later check-out than 11am(since we were checking in so late)but instead indicated that the 11am check-out was not current, and required, that they just ask people to be out by Noon, which we did, and later found out we were suppose to be out by 11am anyway. Which I'm sure highly annoyed the morning office staff, and cleaning staff.
Nothing Rooms were nasty had roaches
I can't complain - for the price this was a comfortable, clean one night stop on our travels. We checked in late, so we had to go to the bullet-proof window, which was a little scary at first. But when we got to our room, it was cozy and comfortable. Never had any issues with noise or cleanliness. The staff probably does what they can with the limited resources they are given, but they can be pretty off-putting.
promptness of checkin no clock in room, presence of bugs
There are no positives about the Charlotte Express Inn. The Charlotte Express Inn is deplorable. So dirty! My first room had a cockroach. I asked to change rooms and the clerk said fine. She walked back with me to my room explaining she was going to pick up the cockroach so she could rent it out again. Gross! The next room had prescription and what i believe to be illegal drugs in the night stand. The dresser had women's clothing in it. The floors were filthy with wrappers everywhere. The bed had blood stains on the side. No soap or any shower supplies. No WIFI or breakfast as advertised. I only found the place because it was the closest hotel when I asked my navigation system. place. I seriously think I would have been better off if I stayed in my car instead.
It was cheap and clean. I had no problems with the hotel at all. Just the noisy highway. cant fix that though.
It was quit Bathroom shower curtain was nasty. Lights didn't work. Some of the plugs was no good
Lots of space, room has pull out sofa and a desk Bathtub need a bit of cleaning/ reconditioning. Water pressure is low and hot water didn't stay warm enough
The fact that we are still alive Everything else
House keeping lady was nice I opened up the curtains and a roach crawled down the wall. The TV had 1 channel!!! Deceptive listing. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to a single person or family!!!
Easy access from Interstate. Place appeared as if it only recently was taken over and certainly has room for improvement (poor breakfast choice, broken machines, pool area furniture). Limited English of staff didn't really help. Certainly not "Americas Best".
You have to wade through crowds of people standing in the parking lot that only come out at night to get to your room which comes with the following amenities: Cigarette burned bed covering, multiple stains on carpets, bathroom mirror so stained you almost can't use it as a mirror, bathroom door with repaired holes (not re-painted), and the toilet paper holder that falls out of the wall. If that doesn't suit you, at least there is the swimming pool filled with dirt and the ghetto, drug swapping neighbors to seal the deal. NEVER STAY HERE!! This place should be condemned.
I found two roaches in my room.
Works in a pinch, it was under $60 with taxes and fees. The refrigerator was broken, no one could tell me the Wi-Fi password, and the guy at the front desk was not super friendly or helpful. The place was pretty damn filthy, but again... $60. You get what you pay for, and I just needed something cheap for the night.
Don't do it!!! Spend the extra money to go somewhere else!
PRICE CONDITION OF THE HOTEL WAS HORRIBLE
The look of the room and comfortable bed. We did not ask for no wake up call but they called our room 30mims b4 check out and housekeeper ladys came b4 11a knockin on the door too 3 different times.
the price - total economy hotel owners spoke very poor English - difficult to communicate the simpliest of check in procedures.
My room was dirty, people outside were loud, the Internet did not work.
