room design and location nothing
Very kind staff, reasonable price but very clean and comfortable room
space in the room; quiet; front desk people in the check in (i don´t speak french, but the girls at the reception made everything they could to explain all my doubts) a little cigarrete smell from the last host; need a locker or al least some space to clothes and stuff in the sauna/gym area
We checked in very late at night, just after midnight after a very long and tiring trip and was then upgraded complimentary to a family suite with a proper double bed which was lovely and what we expected in the first place. We were not made aware before we arrived that the rooms do not have a proper bed. A sofa bed that you have to make yourself is just crazy. For the price you pay you do expect a bed at least.
location, clean and comfortable, friendly staff no
The breakfast and the hotel's staff
The room was very comfortable. Everything was ok
Facilities are great, with sauna and turkish bath and the room design is good. The bathtub was not clean enough. And the odour of shower gel was not good. 1 of the staff could only speak limited english.
Apartment with a kitchen and excellent adjacent shopping centre. Very friendly staff who accepted my poor French skills gracefully. A recently constructed and opened hotel. A short tram ride from the city centre. An information booklet about the hotel facilities in the room would be very helpful!
The staff at the hotel were most helpful. The rooms were nice, clean and air conditioned. The location is perfect.
Helpful staff, decent breakfast at convenient times, central location and proximity to a variety of bars and restaurants. Street noise at night.
Could not be closer to the center of all activities-pedestrian shopping streets, riverfront , opera, restaurants and cafes, trams, tourist info center. room accessories. Positives focus on reception staff-very courteous, most helpful with restaurant bookings, taxis etc. if looking for clean, moderately priced hotel for basic functional needs in the core of this beautiful 18th and 19th century city, you can't go wrong. Unfortunately lobby, reception, bar areas very outdated, dark and unappealing. Rooms extremely small for couples.Breakfast buffet very ordinary in a dreary second floor space. Not worth 14 euros unless included in room price.
Perfect location for visiting the city and no traffic noise. Nearby a big city parking, small nice caffes just outside for a quick breakfast. A lot of restaurants in the neighbourhood. Comfortable beds. Some warm water problems, so they did not charge us for the breakfast, we apprciated it. The bahroom very tiny and should be renovated. The Only window very high up, could not even look out.
Location Breakfast not including in the price
Quite in the center of the city. No shower curtain, just a half "window". Safe deposite requires to requiest a key and a lock (!) at reception.
In the centre of the town
The location to the historic district was perfect. The staff exceptionally helpful. All very good.
Location Could not control the room temp. The comforter was too heavy and I couldn't lower the room temp, therefore either too hot or too cold all night.
Central location, within walking distance of many sites. No complaints.
Very friendly, helpful staff right in the centre of the shopping district and restaurants. Can't drive to the hotel. Have to park and walk at least 1/2 km to the hotel.
Location, friendly, good breakfast, clean.
The location was excellent. Elevators were very very slow. Lighting in the halls was bad.
Very clean, modern and comfortable. Lovely hot shower. Staff very helpful and friendly. Excellent location. No tea or coffee making facilities!
Big, comfortable double bed and spacious bathroom. Hotel in ideal position from which to explore Bordeaux. Staff efficient and friendly. Would be sensible to include kettle and tea/coffee in room as matter of course rather than by request.
The staff were exceptionally pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was somewhat expensive.
The low distance from the center of the city, the tranquillity of the room. The fact that there aren't the same services as in an hotel
Small B&B in the center of Bordeaux, it is composed of a small number of rooms, so it does not suffer from problems that are typical of bigger hotels. The rooms are clean and of decent size, the environment was quiet and relaxing and the staff was nice and helpful. Due to its nature there is no 24h7 reception and/or service.
Great location, and the grand room we had was perfect with children as it had an extra room and lots of space. This room had. Beautiful simple French decor and was very comfortable. There was no meet or greet by staff, and no reception. It is more like a b&b. There are many beautiful chateaus you can stay in which are more typical of the Bordeaux region. However you can't beat the location of this hotel, and the rooms are nice
The location was perfect for exploring the city of Bordeaux. I thought it was a bit overpriced especially since breakfast (which we did not opt for) was an addition 12 EUR / person. Breakfast should have been included for what we paid for the room.
clean, excellent bed, well located but parking and finding the location was difficult. Detailed written street directions would be helpful. Not enough toilet paper
comfortable bed and fridge in room Bedroom was very small and shower over bath was constrained and difficult to use.
Location and value for money - asked for a bright room and got one! Breakfast was very good - nothing to fault
Very friendly staff.
Possibility to make fresh orange juice. Not to be.
Excellent location; friendly, helpful staff with good knowledge of English; nice breakfast. The room was a bit too small.
location small rooms . . . but it's Europe!
The hotel was very well located in the "golden triangle" of the city. Rooms were small, but very well designed. Breakfast unusual rich for France. The atmosphere of the hotel was very pleasant - especially the paintings in the lobby and in rooms.
Central location, Air Conditioning, room fittings, balcony If we had been driving, it would have been impossible to get the car to the hotel (the hotel is in a traffic free area).
The hotel was in an excellent location the breakfast rooms were very small and overcrowded so all guests could not eat in breakfast room
When we checked in we asked for a cab to the airport at 430am to the airport and were told by the front desk clerk not to bother going to the airport until at least 530 si ce it did not open until 6am I happened to know this was not the case but the clerk debated us on this for a while and seemed to ignore our request until we became insistent. Had we listened to her we would have certainly missed our flight. Mostly I don't want to debate MY travel plans I would rather just receive assistance instead of engage in a debate.
great staff, nice breakfast room Having the hotel closed during the day was awkward for check in.
The room is very clean and basic.
I liked the room as it was like a tower and we were in a turret the location was also good I thought the hotel was very expensive for what it was. Also the car parking was not explained and very expensive
Very nice boutique hotel centrally located. It is heritage listed and has a charming ambiance. there is no fridge so when waking in the night (jetlagging) there is absolutely no basic facilities such as cold drinking water. The hotel reception closes up sometimes in the afternoon for a long lunch. There is no room service whatsoever.
You can't beat this hotel for location and price, or maybe you can and I just don't know. Anyway, in the heart of Bordeaux near all the shopping and restaurants you could want. My room was clean, comfortable and ideal for a single traveller. Also with a view to the Cathedral.
Nice building, very good feeling, kind staff, elegant (but small) rooms, excellent placement in a quiet spot.
It was located conviently to the Airport bus route and also in a nice part of town offering many restauratnts and places to walk.
Available carparking poor and expensive. location almost impossible to find. room miniscule.
Location was very close to everything. Room was very tastefully decorated. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. Very small room.
It is very centrally located in the heart of Bordeaux. The toilet seat fell off on the first of our four nights and it was not repaired. The room safe did not work. Our room was in an annexe, not in the main building. The nearby parking facilities - if you could find them and then get a place - were exorbitantly dear; something like 36 euros per 24 hour period. This should have been made clearer on the hotel website. We had to trundle our cases through the streets from a carpark about 400m away, (at 75 years of age - not funny!) and it still cost us 76 euros for four days. Breakfast, too, at 12 euros a head, is not good value.
Centrally located, helpful to degree, limited english but otherwise easy enough to get to all the sights. No printer on computer
friendly staff, great location
very clean lovely reception staff location very little natural light in the room
excellent position. curteous staff. good choice of tv channels. overall many more positives than negatives poorly designed bathroom. no shelf for toiletries. no shelf in shower for shower gel. no loo brush!
English speaking staff Position of hotel Very small rooms
Really good value hotel in an excellent location in central Bordeaux. The rooms are a bit small, but more than adequate for a short break.
Breakfast with fresh product, recently renovated, clean unfriendly personnel, no luggage storage room, no toilet for customers other than the rooms
Leaving There was nothing to like.
oui no hair dryer in washing clost
Good location. When we arrived at the hotel, it was shut. There was a note on the door (in French) that we struggled to understand. Eventually, we worked out that it was redirecting us to a hotel round the corner. When we got there, the receptionist, although pleasant, told us they did not have our reservation. She did manage to find us a room, which was very small, with a tiny bathroom. All in all, very disappointing.
The location and ease of access to centre Room though supposedly with extra space, was still quite small
great location, free internet! Internet was not working :(
Our stay was in the adjoining Hotel Alienor, to which the above remarks apply. It was very quiet and comfortable and in an ideal, central, location for a visit to Bordeaux.
Nice rooms, and confortable bed. Breakfast simple (French) but the croissant and the baguette were very good. Now it it time to complete the refurbishing works with some descent plumbing fixtures.
Short weekend stay for look around city and wine region. Walked around city and shops and went on a wine tour. The walls were very thin, and I had some very loud neighbours. There were no facilities, just a room, no lobby. Coffee and tea making would be inexpensive to implement. Breakfast was taken at another htel altogether which was prety average. No atmsophere
