Pros: I looked long and hard for a good location for a beach holiday in Thailand with my kids (16, 14, 11). Though the Marriott Merlin Beach was a bit more expensive then other options it was definitely worth the extra time and money. We have traveled extensively and it’s rare you can find hotel with the combination of location and convenience. Kids were in the water either the pool or snorkeling on the reef all day. Easily supervised from my beach chair with beverage in hand.
Cons: It’s a challenge to book more than 3 to a room on the system. We figured out a work around but it would be nice if 4 persons per room was available upfront as an option.

Pros: I loved the pool access and the perfect temperature of it! Great location too to walk to the near by restaurants.
Cons: Rooms were old and it needed a good paint job.

Pros: Had a wonderful time. Didn't really know what I was getting when I booked it. The most important thing to me was that they had beach access. Which they did and it was absolutely beautiful. Also enjoyed the pools, poolside bars, and restaurants. They also provided entertainment in the evening. All the staff were very helpful and attentive. We booked all our tours through the hotel. The food was great and the hotel grounds were beautiful. Also, I really enjoyed the spa. I would love to go back!
Cons: It's not necessarily a negative but just be aware it's a very family friendly resort, it didn't bother me at all but if you are looking for adult only this isn't for you. It's a little far away from the "party" area Patong, but they do offer shuttles in the evening from the hotel to Patong and then back. The rooms seemed a bit older but you really don't notice when you are sitting in the beach or just relaxing poolside.

Cons: The Staff at check-in & especially check- out was unfriendly & sounded rude. I was the only person at that particular time to check-out and was made to wait for about 25 minutes by the lady staff member on the grounds that they needed to check the room I stayed in. The experience was quite humiliating. Room was pretty small with twin beds, the bathroom shower didn't work properly maybe because the housekeeping or technical staff never bothered to clean the nozzles of the same as most of them were blocked.

Pros: Staff were absolutely lovely. Nothing was a problem. Breakfast was fantastic; fresh, well cooked, and a wide array of options. Pool access room was incredibly convenient.
Cons: Pool had lots of 'floaties'. All will be from the trees around, but was a bit much. Something about the air con system in the room made the room smell damp and a bit mouldy, but only at night for some reason. (We'd notice if we left and came back to the room after about 7pm, but never during the day). However, we adapted and it wasn't really a bother after you'd been in the room for 15 minutes.

Pros: Ok so I really enjoyed my stay here. This is a great option for anyone that wants a comfortable room, close to the beach for a great price. Anyone wanting to be away from the sleaziness and partiers of Patong should consider this hotel. The breakfast and facilities are great!
Cons: I wish more attention was paid to cleanliness. IE, dust, salt spray build up in the lobby. The toilet, shower, and linens were however perfectly clean.

Pros: The grounds were maintained in excellent condition. You really felt like you were in paradise. Pools were clean and comfortable. Not crowded sitting by the pool, and good drink service. Cute souvenir shops. Good check-in experience for a large group thanks to the separate Hilton Honors desk.
Cons: Very dated looking building. Room amenities were a bit lacking (e.g. the rest of Thailand seems to have bidet toilets, but not here). Restaurants for dinner were nice, with good food, but quite overpriced. Hilton was very disappointing for booking an airport transfer. I received information by email only the day before my arrival. I had requested the transfer booking over a month earlier. The email stated the booking office for airport transfers closed in 10 minutes! Not very useful when travelling... A follow up email the morning of arrival indicated it was too late to book a transfer "according to their policy", even though booking a return airport transfer took 5 minutes the day of, with no advanced notice required.

Pros: Nice hotel, you can feel your privacy being respected. Really nice pool and the surroundings around pool with palm trees and flowers. Very clean, fresh towels every day (I didn't need that but we couldn't cominicate about that :D) tv and good ac. Wifi is only in the lobby. I spent my last 5 days in Thailand at kata beach, so it was pretty cool... Reception 27/7, it's not like that everywhere in Phuket! I liked that very much.
Cons: The only way, as they explained me, getting to airport was taking taxi that costs 900.- baht... Weird as you can get around half of the country with this money, but hey... Safe is at the reception too, that is quite annoying.

Pros: The staff was incredible. They made us feel right at home especially Nim. I loved the tours they offered very inexpensive, fun and our guide was knowledge, friendly and easy to talk to. They offer a shuttle service to different destinations to surrounding beaches. the food was delicious. It was a great experience would do it again!

Pros: Good facilities - gym, pool, spa. Everything is very clean. Great restaurant, with very reasonable prices.
Cons: Location - it is not even in Kata, it is on a hill observing Kata, limited by highway so you cannot walk out, only take a taxi. Feels like a prison. Taxi prices and car rental prices in hotel are out of proportion. You can walk to a small taxi station 100 meters from the hotel and get twice cheaper price, and if you want to rent a vehicle do it in the town - cheaper and they do not try to take your passport (which is illegal by the way). Hotel suitable only for someone who is planning to stay in the hotel all day long.

Pros: We loved the helpful staff. The morning Buffett was great and the staff were always topping up our coffee . We stayed two nights and really didn’t want to leave . It had everything!

Pros: The breakfast was a good price compared to other hotels only $170 bhat. Good selection of food styles with western, Russian and Asian breakfast choices.
Cons: The bathroom is very small and needs an extraction fan and an update. The shower water never got very hot.
