The staff (not managers) are friendly. My stay at this hotel was entirely disappointing. I requested a room away from the elevators and had called twice to confirm this request and was given a room right next to loud creaky bumping elevators. My friend had ordered me room service to be in my room when I arrived as a surprise and it was never there and would not have been delivered had she not asked how I enjoyed my surprise food. At my insistence I was moved to a different room the next day and the day I left the hotel saw a BED BUG crawling on my pillow as I was getting ready. I alerted the staff who was appropriately horrified only to NOT hear from a manager for the next day and a half. After repeated calls and emails from me including one to a front staff who said she had seen the manager and was surprised I had not heard back only to be lied to by that same manager hours later that she 'only just arrived' and that was why my calls were not returned. Finally after a rant to a lower level manager the front desk manager was all of the sudden made available to me and finally an investigation into the bed bug was launched. What is MOST disturbing is because they themselves had not 'confirmed' this was a bed bug (which is very clearly was...I have photos) they could not tell me for certain that no one else was staying in that room. At the LEAST that room and neighboring rooms should have been closed and checked immediately but the managers were slow to take action and initially very dismissive. It is a DISGUSTING feeling to have the experience of knowing you slept somewhere that has bed bugs and all the effort I had to put in once I got home to try and decontaminate myself and my stuff to not infest my house and my baby's nursery. Most disheartening was the response from the hotel on the matter. I wish this review would let me submit the picture of the bed bug I took. I was forced to stay at this hotel because of an exam that was being given onsite but I will never stay at this or any related hotel again. Not even because of the bed bugs themselves, but because the hotel was so slow to respond and so dismissive, potentially putting others at risk as well by not quarantining the room(s).
Location, attractive room and lobby, parking garage, nice TV. The high bed, no hot water, difficulty turning on shower, toilet running, broken bathroom door hook, no movie channel.
My room had only lukewarm water and was extremely noisy.
close to american board of pathology, shula's steak house, nice room away from elevators with good temperature control, nice tub, pleasant staff a bit pricey, no refrigerator space; last time i was here i was in a room near the elevators and had difficulty sleeping as people go up and down all night
Good location, free parking, clean room, very comfortable beds! Great experience overall...can't wait to return! No negatives
When we opened up the mini bar it had not been cleaned in a while. Something brown had leaked in the bottom of the fridge. Very gross. We were told another guest had put some of their own things in the fridge and that's what made the mess. So no one ever cleans or looks in the mini bar? We were in a junior suite and you expect the room to be clean. Also there were 6 bed risers stacked up on the bedroom night stand. Will not be back again. Very disappointed in the hotel. You should not have to call the front desk to get your room cleaned.
This hotel was really clean and tasteful. My room was very comfortable and staff was very helpful. Will stay again next time I'm in town. I wasn't sure where the hotel ended and the business complex or restaurants started. Granted, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I kind of found myself wandering around and in some area's felt out of place in shorts and flip-flops.
Very clean hotel, and courteous staff. Booked this hotel last minute, and only wish I could've stayed longer. I would definitely be back to enjoy that rooftop pool that I missed.
The pool on the roof was very nice, decor throughout hotel was tasteful, staff very friendly Having to pay extra to use the refrigerator in the room- after the cost of the room it should be included.
Best breakfast buffet of any hotel.
Hotel was nice, clean, and comfortable. The check in process was less than pleasant as was the concierge. Having to go up and down the 5th floor because none of the 6 keys worked is unacceptable. What made matters worse was the lack of concern and empathy the concierge expressed toward the situation. An apology wasn't offered nor was anything provided in attempts to make up for the issue.
Very nice building. The place was very well decorated and it was apparent that considerable effort was put into the interior design of my room. There was a very nice fitness center with a full range of equipment (including free weights; a rarity for a hotel) and there were even complimentary earbuds (wifi was $13.95 but earbuds are free? ... Seems odd but thank you.). The whole place seemed very clean on the houskeeping side but there was some building maintenance issues. The staff I encountered were very friendly and hospitible. With the exception of the minibar which was jam packed with the usual assortment of ridiculously priced things there was no fridge. Also, despite the a/c being set to 65° the entire time the room never felt cooler than 75° which makes it very hard for me to sleep. We were on the top floor so I assumed it was the blazing hot sun beating on the building but even at night it couldn't catch up. Lastly the wifi cost $13.95 to use which I thought was pretty steep considering every hotel I've stayed in for the past 10 years or so has included it for free.
Open bar of FREE drinks and good hospitality. I love all Embassy hotels and they never put me down. If I have to pay a little extra to stay here I will, no hands down. This hotel was very clean and had everything ready for my request at just a simple push of "front desk" button. If you are in the Tampa area, pick this hotel. The rooms are HUGE and enough room for moving around without having feeling cramped together. Everything was GREAT. No negative feedback!
Friendly staff, excellent room, and the usual full Embassy Suites breakfast. Checked in late for a two night stay. No problem. Room was ready. The hotel is extremely convenient. Large mall across street. Bucs stadium close. Had 3 busloads of Oakland Raider fans in the hotel on second night. Also close to airport with shuttle service available. We'll be back. At least 1 of 3 elevators weren't working. Made for significant delays on Sunday morning.
The hot breakfast was fantastic! Eggs and omelets made to order, yummy baked goods and lots of options to choose from. Also the staff were friendly and helpful. The cocktail hour was a nice touch, too. Bed was comfy and room clean. I would've liked a soaking tub or jacuzzi in the suite. Also there was no channel guide in the room so we had to go through all the channels to figure out what was what.
