There are so many things I could compliment, but the one that stands out most in my mind was how welcome they made my family feel. I have two young children, and we were all made to feel at home as soon as we arrived at the resort. This is uncommon for our European holiday experiences so far but very reassuring for our future holiday plans. The greatest compliment is to say that we'll be back soon!!
The room was always clean and the staff were so helpful.
Ecological sensibility, calm atmosphere, friendly and capable staff.
Perfectly located: out from crowded Los Cristianos and Playa las Americas, but only a 10 min drive away (for shopaholics). Very convenient for Tenerife South airport. Classy and well decorated. Perfect outside heated swimming pool. Nice ocean views from rooms. Delicious and varied lunch and dinner buffet, with world cuisines changing every day, also offers a à-la-carte restaurant. Perfect balance of national and international guests. Could do without the swimming pool animation team activities.
Rooms were great.all iclusive was good value didn,t like the tinned fruit in am.lack of some music at night disco place nearby that blared out music sorry noise on friday night
Very nice hotel with an interesing architecture. Nice staff and good facilities. Located in a quiet location. Close to the airport wich can disturbe, our kids loved to see the planes comming in. The beach is a bit to rough.
Big rooms, nice pools, excellent food, good for children, friendly staff, nice hotel design Heated pools still cold so less suitable for little children, south of tenerife is warmer but less beautifull than north, wifi free of charge but most of the time not working,
the best thing in the hotel is eight swimming pools! room could be cleaner
The Hotel was exceptional and the rooms were clean, luxurious and new. The all inclusive food and drink was excellent . The pool areas are stunning and have different areas for familys and couples. Staff always helpfull and friendly. Best Hotel we have stayed in for a long time. Noise of planes but quality of hotel outweighs this. Paid extra for sea view but it was sea glimpse and not worth the extra money.
Very nice hotel, luxurious, comfortable, nice view, breakfast and ecxellent decoration The only negative point is the airplanes passing above, because it is very close to the airport
this hotel is fantastic , The hall is fabulus
its comfortable enough for the price we paid and staff were helpful and acted fast when we asked for something. the room never get sunlight so even it was warm outside, it felt really cold inside which isnt ideal apart from summer season.... they offered late check out for 25 euro but when we requested the night before our departure we were told to do so in the morning of the departure and when we did we were told our room was already booked out for someone else.
Nice, big rooms. Very clean, good value for money far away from the action, you'll need transport to go anywhere nice. And it' s directly under the in flying route for the airport (which is very nearby) so there's lots of airplanenoises
The hotel was very clean and well presented. The staff where very freindly and helpfull We had breakfast the first day we stayed. this proved to be a mistake.I have to say for a four star hotel the breakfast was very poor cold coffee, awful bacon and poor presentation with out a word of doubt the worst food we have ever had in a four star hotel anywhere in the world.
I did not like anything about this hotel. The staff were very unprofessional and unfriendly. They spoke very poor English and gave incorrect information about the hotel to me. When I asked to speak to a manager, the receptionist sent a porter to me.
~Food --> Excellent fresh alot of choice, good safe service, good animation of Frami. only the drinks/food at the poolbar could be better !!!
Friendly personnel. Good, quiet location close to the highway, a small beach, some restaurants and the airport, with sufficient free parking. Nice swimming pools (esp. the saltwater pool). Sometimes very nice food (extensive buffet). Sometimes not so good food (dinner served too cold, no nice drinks at breakfast), eat early for best quality. No free internet (unlike mentioned on the website).
Peaceful location, good parking and easy access to the local area The beds extremely hard, and the pillows were very thin. In room air conditioning was no match for the August heat
Good location near to San Miguel Marina. The bed was very hard and the pillows were thin. There were a lot of old people staying there.
I liked everything there, nice, friendly and helpful staff, location, clean room and the hotel, gorgeous food, can only recommend to everyone, me and my girlfriend really liked it over there and already are missing it a lot!!! No, there was not.
Good value for money, food and drinks all inclusive deal Too noisey. The poor entertainment was music played very loud for the children to run about to. There was no where to sit where you could escape the noise and have a conversation as you could not make yourself heard.
Location (quite zone, not very crowded), multiple nationality guests, spacious room, 50meters from beach and sea pool, free parking space, facilities and infrastructure. The restaurant. It could not cope with all the costumers during breakfast and dinner (food and complements supply was not enough) and there wasn't too much variety either, specially with the deserts.
These have to be the most uncomfortable beds I have ever slept in. We booked a double room and got twin beds just pushed together.as single beds.
That there was a good room available for just one night was very convenient for us.
Excellent service - seaview - and the fact that the hotel is a reasonable size compared with other hotels in the nabourhood. no....
Hotel itself was excellent, brilliant location, room clean, overall very good hotel, let down by very minor things not normally associated with 5 star hotels. Minor things such as maids entering rooms even though do not disturb sign on, whhen arranging transfer to airport being told when it was best time to have car as opposed to the time we actualy we wanted
the staff were professinal and kind.the golf club noted it was my wifes birthday and organised a bottle of champagne for our room.It was such a nice gesture,,thankyou once again. we own an appartment in playas de las americas but will always spend a few nights at the villa cortes on our visits from now on.we are thinking of our daughters wedding reception to be held at villa cortes next year.
We liked the welcome. Beautiful facilities and a very attractive property right next to the ocean. It was great to rest by day and night to the roar of the ocean waves. It was unfortunate that on Feb. 22 the spa, steam room and sauna were not functioning at 100%. The pools were cold and although the staff turned on the sauna and steam room, it appears that the steam room valve was not working well. This was a let down because it was our last full day at the hotel. We had several great meals at the restaurant but on the last night (Feb.
The hotel is very nice service is very good I styed i4 nights in 3 rooms reasons first room smelled very bad when complained they wrier very good and moved me to a suit which the air-condition was not working when complained first night they fixed only the one in the living room and not the one in the bed room, we came late that night and had to sleep in the living room as bed room was hot as he'll next day early we went diving and when back complained again about the air-condition the reception said it's Sunday why you did not tell us early as I we don't have now one to fix it, that is when I got real mad and told him this is 5 stars hotel not 2 any how they send a tecnition and he said yes it's not working and I can't fixed it then they moved us to another suit.
Very pretty place, very clean, great location.
The location close to the beach The hotel claimed to be fully booked, but there was only one or two couple at the swimming pools. Where were all the people ?
Everything, it's so unique, nothing like the numerous old fashioned 'block' hotels in the region. It's very colourful and imaginative, there's so much attention to detail. It's a proper 5 star. The staff are really friendly too and always have time for you. There were lots of rich looking people strutting about the place which is not something we're used to but it was fun staying there. You would have to be very spoilt to pick any faults
The staff were very helpful and friendly. Nothing
The friendlyness of the staff and the short walk to the beach and shops. The food was not very good, i understand the hotel is a 3* but have stayed in 3* before and felt the food was below that rating,
Room was excellent Buffet breakfast was frantic and not enjoyable at all
was fairly well situated in los cristianos. The room was huge and being on 13th floor had a great view The bed and pillows were not fit for purpose. They were so hard as to be unusable. I complained at the desk and was told there had been other such complaints. Yet no change. dreadfull
The meals .Views. Location. Lift was out of order a lot of the time (floors 8 to 15) Computers not working (one out of the four ,worked occasionally)
Superior room was spacious and balcony commanded a superb view Awful food, cutlery, crockery & glassware not properly cleaned Lifts broken down . entertainment poor. Hotel badly in need of upgrade.
I liked so much housekeeping work..very good!! Very clean rooms!!
It was my second time staying there and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Only thing was waiting for the elevator as they were working on two of the existing ones but it helped my fitness and I took the stairs and did me no harm
The Location rite on the los cristianos village
Recently refurbished throughout, very stylish but in keeping with the style of the beautiful old building. A friendly place to stay, plenty of space to relax in patio area, sitting room, bar etc. Good food menu, excellent range of local wines and choice of drinks in the bar including various tea and coffee. Highly recommended for a short break away or while on holiday from a resort area.
Quiet location. Very good food (excellent pizza). Lack of tea making facilities in the room. Cleaning staff careless. Room with town and bay view was first given as a sea view room. No soap in the bathroom (we had to ask).
It was very fantastic stay in this hotel. The location is very good, just the sea side and not so far from the airport (10EUR by taxi). The food is very good and we can enjoy very much entertainment like a water polo in the pool, maxi-dance, tropical show and so on after dinner. Hotel organize them very well! Not at all.
The attentive staff, the ability to use the pools etc in the other hotels in Mare Nostrum, the proximity to the beach and many luxury shops On first arrival it is not easy to find the main entrance.
Location was perfect staff excelent None
hotel very stylish and relaxing, staff extremely friendly and hotel in a great location.
There was excellent apartments and exterior of the hotel. Pretty good service. Very quit and luxe hotel Waiters demonstrate that they are waiting for tips, slow service in restaurant.
It was quiet ,relaxing and elegant. The room was large and the terrace wonderful. Will stay there again
russian-speaking guest assistance service
Good location (at the beach) and the service is very good.
Cozzy intimate atmosphere, perfect for honey moon as well for romance and holliday for two. Well placed near the beach yet discreet, hidden from walkers view. Original ideea to have your own room pool. Breackfast divers and gourmet. Compliments for the chefs. External window fasade should be cleaned of dust.
ability to relax, be entertained, and closeness to local amenities. particular member of staff were brilliant, friendly and helpful. Rooms were cleaned daily and cannot fault this. same drinks should be available in bar as they are in restaurant, i.e. be able to buy a bottle of wine and not just by the glass. ability to have snacks during the day not just between 12 and 3pm at the bar. (seperate from restaurant availability).
Cleanliness of room Only one member of staff on reception. Waited 30 minutes to check out.
The room was nice with a reasonable sized balcony. Breakfast and dinner were good, with lots of food choice The daily charge for the safety deposit box; a despoit should be enough. No free drinks at dinner, not even water, and very over priced soft drinks (the water was even more than from the venting machine in reception!). Rubbish coffee at breakfast. 2 single beds pushed together does not make the room a double. No fridge in the room
great breakfast-buffet, flash, spacious, nice pool-bar upper pool-area(the sun-deck) a bit barren
I wouldn´t recommend staying in Playa de las Americas. You can´t walk five meters in this town without being bothered by people trying to sell you something or drag you into a bar, restaurant, night club. This can get really annoying. If you decide to stay in las Americas, Catalonia Oro Negro is defenitely a great choice. The stay has been perfect. Great food, great facilities, great staff and all for a good price. Definitely recommendable. Everything was perfect.
Good value! Services of a 4 star hotel, good buffet, excelent services. Renewed a few years it is a nice hotel, with good animation, big swimming pool. Has a courtesy room for guests that leave after 12h take a shower! It doesn't have towels for pool/beach and it's located in the last line of hotels from the beach - almost 800m! Doesn't have internet computers!
Close to beach at an attractive price.
Balcony had great view of the mountains. Didn't spend much time in the actual hotel, so no other comments to make. The hotel did make an effort to keep guests entertained, which is always a good thing. I didn't like the frankly ludicrous charge to use the hotel safe, as well as the deposit which is required for air-conditioning remote control, use of the phone etc
The hotel is in a very strategic place in fact it's in the middle of las mericas. 5 min from the nearest beach, supermarkets (spars) & most importantly from down town (Main street separating the beach from hotels and restaurant). Hotel very clean & quite. The staff was very polite. The room spacious and over looking the pool (no suprises ) Restaurant: food is very good value for your money. The room: the mattres wasn't really in good shape but you get use to it all the rest of the furniture in the room are in a very good condition and clean.
Monica at the front desk was wonderful. Everytime I asked for something, she was pleasant and helpful. She never ignored me. The bartender in the bar, however, wouldn't even give me butter for my croissant. The girl who cleaned my room was fabulous!! She also went above and beyond.
it is far from beach
Bungalow system Staff
The kids club the food and staff very great when got into hotel. But one big problem we booked in July 2009 but they had no room for us??? We had to stay in an other hotel for the first night not good with 3kids and rest of family already booked in? Had to argue with manager and the rest of family 13 of us were not happy.
Elderly couple 55+, 10 days stay from 12 until 21 October 2010, quiet and nice family appartments, much comfort and very clean. Good breakfast. Towels were exchanged 3 times, this should be more often. However the swimming pools could be used from 10.00 AM nearly all sun beds were reserved by other guests around 09.00 AM.
All was great perfect location with everything around. Really was more that we expected. We were quite close to the pool and every morning at 10am they were playing loud music to open all activities.
everything was ok, price, food. Very good for family with children.
We had a great time the staff were so friendly and welcoming we got all you want and more from our stay, thanks a lot. Would recommend to anyone.
Nothing in particular. I cannot remember anything to appreciate as special, pretty common family arrangements. Yes, definitely the front desk staff. I asked them help me with a print- out of a personal file (1 page) and I have received a clear no before even explaining the emergency I had. I needed to explain them three times what was included in the package (dinner, massage, etc) in order to take benefit of these and I still don't know what is welcome pack and check-out pack. Neither the front desk staff know, they told me that they will ask the management about this. Pretty unprofessional speaking manner toward clients.
