Great location near Vatican. Quiet. Clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Balcony rooms were nice feature over most other hotels. Restaurant food and service was very good. Would definitely stay here again..
We are very satisfied with our Superior Double Room and all its amenitites especially the Starbeds (soft feather beds) and the bedding.
The cleaning staff at the hotel was very nice and curteous, much moreso than the rest of the staff. The included breakfast and service was below average at best and the staff at the front desk was not helpful. The location was close to the Vatican, but not very close to the main part of the city, or to many notable restaurants.
to be near every where
Proximity to the vatican
location and the staff, everything is very nice
The hotel rooms were roomy and clean. Very close walking distance from the Vatican. Not as centrally located from a majority of the historcial sites.
facilities and excelent location in rome n/a
The staff were friendy and helpful, the rooms were spotlessly clean, towells changed daily. great location for getting around city and nice area with a few bars and restaurants if you didnt want to wonder too far. Nice and quiet. A safe was provided free of charge in each room. The only negative point raised by a member of our group was that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms.
The staff was great.
We wanted a hotel within walking distance of the Vatican, and yours was great. We had just come off a month in Egypt and wanted 4 days of pampering and top level hotel experience to rest before flying home, and your hotel provided it. We will come back and recommend it to others. No complaints whatsoever.
Very spaced out. Excellent breakfast. Pretty quiet setting. None
the room was great and comfortable - good location very poor breakfast -bad coffee
It was ultra-contemporary with all the technology present designed for comfort of the guests. The room--we had a suite--was spacious and soothing. The staff was super-attentive, too. My husband, son, and I spent three weeks in Italy. This was by far the best place we stayed. I feel I got real value through Booking.com, but then, you have never let me down. It was a bit far away from the action. (To say that it's close to Vatican City is a bit of a stretch.) However, it was also nice to be away from it all, and in a neighborhood with "real Romans." We went to a snack bar nearby, and it was amusing how we were treated since they didn't see many tourists. I would stay in this place again in a heartbeat.
continental breakfast and friendly staff hotel room cold and settings were hard to fix
Room was very comfortable. room service also excellent. Location - transport is not near the hotel. Administration - when we checked out, early in the morning, breakfast boxes were not ready, though previous day we were promised thet boxes will be ready in the morning.
The staff were professional. The need for our children's during the stay was well taken care of. The relative distance to Vatican city was favorable. The room has a contemporary design and the bathroom is pleasant. The room was very small. There was no facility in the hotel of note. Breakfast was marginal. The area around the hotel is not interesting.
The rooms were very comfortable and clean. There aren't any restaurants near the hotel.
The breakfast - very very poor
Hotel staff were polite and knowledgeable. They provided excellent directions to many local attractions.
staff friendly, the room was clean and warm and breakfast was fine for italian taste. The parking space is free e it's not far from city centre by car...I'm not sure with the bus or underground as I did not use it..
Hotel was easy to find from the motorway and had free parking. Attractive, spacious reception/lounge area and clean and comfortable rooms. Very quiet at night, and comfortably cool thanks to air con in spite of very hot weather. City centre accessible via public transport. Helpful staff who allowed us to leave luggage in hotel and car in carpark next day while we explored the city. Bus from outside hotel goes direct to Vatican area. Good value hotel for price. Area around hotel was ok but a bit scruffy & unattractive. (Did not feel unsafe tho) a bit of a walk to bus stop into city centre - we couldn't find it at first, so took metro instead which was a horrible experience - overcrowded, hot and smelly. No problems getting bus back tho. No restaurant for evening meal so we had to eat out - advise doing this in city as not much in local area. Rooms a bit on small side with no view, but fine for a short stay.
Breakfast was very poor quality and very poor choice of food E.G meats, cheese. the shower was very dispointing always cold.and there were no coffee making Facilities
Everything super. I would recomende this hotel to every body!
Nice roon good condicion, cheaper and value for money. It is far way from the underground station, the breakfast is poor, there are no fruits, but for the price it's not too bad, there is just roon to improuve.
Its location to the centre of Rome was the Hotel's strong point and the helpfulness of the staff on answering local enquiries. The hotel initially offered a completely incorrect room and it took a forceful discussion with the hotel recpetionist to get the hotel to change our room to the grade which we booked. This put an initial dampener on the start of the trip, but was quickly forgotten about and the receptionist turned out to be extremely knowledgeable about transport options into the city. We were travelling with 3 children ages 2, 8 and 13 and the room we had was a little small for 5 people, but that said, this would be an excellent room for a family of three and the hotel's location made getting into and out of Rome pretty easy. The breakfast was OK.
My family enjoyed the hotel a lot. Room was clean and nice. Air conditioning worked well (even when it was +35 C outside). Breakfast was good. The reception personnel (especially Giuseppe) was very friendly and helpful.
It was quiet and the air conditioning in my room was brilliant. If I got back to Rome, I'll go back to your hotel. No.
Not a 4 star hotel. But the rooms were a decent size and were very clean. Most staff were friendly and helpful and it was close to transport.
The location and the breakfast the check out process: there was no one available to check out at 0500, the time we needed to leave to catch our flight. Apparently they had designated check out times that were not posted.
took less than 10 minutes to walk to St Peter's Square, through the walkway under the busy road.... and was on bus routes that can take you about anywhere... the fact that it has not been updated in years (and some tears in the wallpaper) did not bother us, it almost added to the charm... run by the owner and his son with a few others that we could see... I really highly recommend for it's proximity, I believe you wont find another as reasonably priced this close. the fire alarm woke us up in the middle of one of the nights, and we werent sure what happened
Location was optimal for the trip planned. Area was cozy. Hotel was dated but we enjoyed that fact.
The location was great and Breakfast was very good
location to the Vatican. Convenient to go around. The room is quite big very comfortable. Only the smell from the pipe.
good location, near Vatican and San Pietro Station, very friendly staff, old building and interior, bathroom is too old
It is very close to the Basilica (2 minutes away) Breakfast was very good, rooms neat, clean and towels changed daily
location - breakfast
It was in a great location. The room was clean. Other than one front desk hotel clerk, the staff was rude and not very helpful. The breakfast staff needs training on customer service. The breakfast meal was not very enjoyable and the coffee was terrible. Overall, I would rate the staff and breakfast about a two on a scale of one is poor and 10 is great. I would not recommend my friends to this hotel.
Beautiful boutique hotel very close to the Vatican in a nice neighborhood with an excellent continental breakfast, lovely room, nice bathroom, and a very friendly and helpful staff. They did not have electrical adapter connections for US appliances such as my cell phone charging station.
Excellent. Fabulous pool and gym. Fantastic breakfast. Short 7euro taxi ride to at peters square and vatican and all open top hop on n hop off bus to get to all main sights on Rome. We very much enjoyed our four night stay. Fantastic and thanks
There were very friendly and professional staff. Also the pool is absolutely a must have, while the city have the "siesta" you can have a drink or two by the pool and will be fresh for the evening part of the Rome experience.
Friendly and helpful staff. Clean refreshing hotel. a quiet part of town but not convenient for public transport Our room should have been non smoking but it did smell of smoke a little. Open windows soon got rid of it. We were misled by its website saying that it was close to public transport
Excellent dinner (both food and service) but pricey. Front desk went out of their way to be helpful. We were not comfortable walking in the neighborhood in the evening. No place nearby to have dinner except for Mc Donalds
Staff was very friendly, room ready when we arrived and there was a very hard to come by pool in Rome. there was an obvious smell of smoke, despite being a non-smoking hotel and you coudl see it in the carpets. After sooo much difficulty finding a hotel with a pool, we were shocked to see that it closed at 7:3pm. Generally hotel pools are open until at least 10pm. Very dissappointing considering we were there to spend the day visiting Rome and looking forward to an evening swim to cool down only to find they closed it up early every night.
Staff very helpful room clean great view of pool breakfast first class pool great on hot days A little bit out of rome prices for hotel restaurant and snacks expensive would have used if more fairly priced
swimming pool, hotel staff, safety, clean opening hours of the swimming pool (too short), the fact that one day there was a group of screaming kids at the pool - not possible to relax nor to swim. the fact that the hotel staff did not knew where the toailettes are, made me worry as to what other guests do about there needs where at the swimming pool - puuh!! The fact the alarm clock at the TV did not worked made me late for an important meeting at the first day of my stay!!!
Knowledgeable staff Internet access only in foyer, internet expensive. Location a bit out of town.
closed to Vatican but not walking distance. Nice swimming pool and very delicious breakfast. kind staff. the water in swimming pool was too cold to swim.
we enjoyed the upgrade to a suite with a free mini bar for 15 euro per day. excellent breakfast evening menu pricey but ate in Rome
Good value for money and location, also the rooms were very clean The view was nothing special, but I did not have any requirements
Silence, clean environment, correct service, situation and convenient city transport connections Obligatory presence of table (desk) suitable for PC-working; English chanels in the TV-set (CNN, BBC etc.) if it is possible.
It's convenient with metro but it's hard to transport by taxi. Staff do not have reliable and state-of-the-art informaition about tour of Rome and Vantican.
The hotel was restored, new furnitures. The room was tidy, clean. The staff was very, very friendly. The hotel is very good located, close to metro, bus station.
Good room size and cleanliness No A/C in the hot summer, no fan. I remained awake the whole night and could not do my next day meeting properly. This was total disaster for me.
Cleanliness and hygiene were excellent.
Very well located and very good value for money. Staff are nice and rooms were clean
Excellent location. The room was clean and comfortable, however this is not a 4 star hotel as announced. Internet is not free. They have a desktop machine in the lobby for "free " use, however if Internet is required it is necessary to buy a password!
This Hotel whilst not luxury was perfect for our needs, it provided a base for exploring Rome and a place to sleep, considering our 7-day metro tickets were only 16euros each it catered our needs perfectly and saved us a lot more then staying in the centre of the city. However people used to a higher standard may not like the basic facilities. Therefore take the other reviews with a pinch of salt ask yourself, what you need? If like us all you want is a 'base' then Aurelius is good. If you want lots of facilities and high quality look elsewhere. However the staff were friendly to us (it may be where we at least tried to speak some Italian?) and not sure what other reviewers mean by "rude" staff. The reviews ive read here could reflect the hotel but yet again everyone sees things differently! We did have an accident getting out of our bathroom where my partner caught (and cut) her foot on a exposed jagged edge of tiling on the floor where it had either been unrepaired/ left unattended or poorly constructed. So better care with the decor of the rooms is in order!
The hotel was in close proximity to a metro station which provided access to a number of key points in the city. The facility was clean and well maintained.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable rooms.
clean, new, modern room and bathroom, variety in breakfast, friendly-helpful reception and stuff no soundproofing walls-you could listen everything from other rooms, noisy kitchen stuff, far from the city center, very few lifts to metro station with shuttle bus
Great service, modern room, cabled internet and good breakfast. Undercover free parking. There is a free shuttle bus service to and from the metro, only 4 stops to the vatican and 8 stops to the centre of Rome. The room we had was very small, only one person could fit in the bathroom at a time. Annoying as the duvet is covered by 2 bedsheets which move during the night and the duvet isn't exactly perfectly clean.
The people make any hotel good or bad. This was excellant.
A hotel with excellent accomodation, very helpful staff, and close enough to the metro station. A very good choice in Rome!!!!! -
Nice, quiet aera./Good shuttle service to metrostation/Daily roomcleaning. Breakfast was not special.Maybe a suggestion for the bar;a little menu-card with some little Italian snacks on it.
Nice room and good breakfast for italian standard Hotel too far from Rome centre, too far from metro station (more than 900 m as mentionnend!!!), 20 min. walk = 1,5 km, dark roads, no taxi available at metro station. Free shuttle service did not work one night. Very poor food at the hotel in the evening, too expensive, no fresh pasta!!!
The staff was amazing. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome and safe. They went the extra mile for stangers from another country who did not speak Italian but were fluent in the language enough to understand and take care of our needs. We even recommended the hotel to people we met in the city who were not having such a wonderful exprience at their hotels. The only thing I missed was a tub instead of a shower, but it was not bad. The accomodations were exceptional.
nice rooms, well decorated, very clean, nice breakfast if you arrived at the breakfast room before 9 am, 10 min. walk to the closest metro station (the free shuttle bus helped a lot) but the staff do not speak english fluently.
The staff was very nice and very helpful. Transport to and from the metro car was made by the hotel's car, excellent facility! There was no change of towels every day and breakfast could be more generous!
I liked the most, the quite of the area of the Hotel the only thing i did not like about the Hotel is the matrix
The rooms in the hotel are nice, spacious accroding wiith the Rome measures with cosy interiors in the quite green place abreast of Vatican. Saint Peter is only 5 minutes walk. The staff of the hotel is completely unhelpfull, no understanding of English, city transportation, faires for even taxi to Termini station. Plus the Manager (or Owner) was really unfriendly when asked for additional services in the hotel.
cleanness, comfortable, have kitchen for cooking. location
It's location was fantastic bed was comfy room clean. The cooking facitilites in our room were inadequete and I would not have been able to cook on them if I had wanted.
Nice location near the wall of Vatican, beautiful roof garden with view to St Peter Basilica, excellent pizzeria and breakfast buffet on the nearest Piazza. Lift is noisy, we have heard that in our room. The information about how to reach the appartement was not the simpliest solution, because Metro station Citta Vaticano is far from that. Please display that correctly!
the stuff was very friendly and willing to give you any info. everyhting was perfect, but a little bit far from the center if you wanted to walk till there.
The staff (particularly Antonio) was fantastic. They were very helpful, attentive, and kind. Also, the hotel and residence was very clean.
No cleaning, the staff was not available, location is really inconvenient, because of the lack of bus and metro stops, airco not working, kitchenette dangerous because of electricity, bed was broken en shaky, walls are too thin.
very close to bus and metro. good variety of restaurants in immediate vacinity. staff very helpfull
Room not big but satisfactionary size and clean. Front desk people were very nice and helpfull and they spoke english. Breakfast very good and full. Hotel located 5 min walk from metro station cornellia. I can recommend this hotel for people who do not need to stay in city centre. with walk and emtro ride it took us 20 min max to get into the city. I was very satisfied with this hotel. Robert
The staff extremely helpful and friendly! Breakfast was not the "American breakfast" that they promised on the brochure.
I realy appriciate hotel staff, nice area inside and outside, oportunities which I had.....bar, terasse, internet, close to underground station. It was quite difficult to find this hotel from close underground station, because I see any signs or advertisement about hotel and not everybody who live in this part of Roma know where is situated this hotel ..of course. So , maybe good idea should be to make it clear for people. Thank you.
Leaving. Terrible location far from the city center or even the Vatican as advertised. The neighborhood is completely littered with trash, just as the hotel had food laying around on the floors for our entire stay. You would be better off sleeping on the floor instead of the aweful mattress and you will be up to your ankles w/ water in the shower. Breakfast was almost ok...except for if you are not Italian you have to drink the "dirty water" vending machine caffe/coffee that tastes like you got it in an American hospital (Italian speakers were offered better caffes from the back by the staff upon arrival). The walls are paper thin and if you weren't completely distracted by the strange noises from within the room there were plenty of noises to here from outside of the room. Be advised also that the city tax is listed incorrectly and is now 6 euros per person per day.
I liked having breakfast There was no problem at all.
The staff were very polite, and helpful. They also speak English and Spanish so communication wasn't a problem. The breakfast buffet was great. It has a nice variety of food items, all delicious! The location is great since it is a few meters from the Merto Station. The cleanliness is fair. Over all, it was a great value for the price. I visited with two kids and the room was large enough to accomodate us. The whole family had a good experience at the this hotel. It is a little dificult to find because it is not on a main street. You should add a land mark to the address on lineFor example, it is located behind the yellow gas station by the bus depot. This info would be very helpful.
bathroom, breakfast, hotel staff, air conditioning all were wonderfull room was ridiculously small
The breakfast was superb, catering for everybody from all walks and every nationality. The staff were mostly friendly. When you arrive at the underground stop for the hotel try to have a map or sat nav to take you the extra 8 minutes walk to the hotel as the locals will either not tell you where it is or they do not know where it is. Have at least a street address.
Everything was perfect. Nope.
The staff was very friendly and always attentive. The price was great and it was in a convenient place to stay close to the subway. Because we were there to see a few sights before heading out to a class in Siena it was great. Rome can be very intimidating but we felt safe in the area around our hotel. In terms of the hotel nothing really, It is small but I don't expect it to be America. When in Rome...
That the hotel was close to the train station The price I paid for this 3 star was unbelivable. Instead of one king bed as I requested I got two twins beds put together. I had a 19" TV, no tub, just a shower, the bathroom was so small two people could not be in there at one time. I was not able to get extra blankets, there was no clock in the room. I was not pleased with this hotel.
The price lack of Internet in the room and very slow in the lobby
Good location Triple room used for quadruple room and the room is quiet small for 4 persons + 1 yr old baby. No breakfast room and we had our breakfast at receptionist area. We cannot having the breakfast in the room because the room is too small
Location Breakfast is poor
The location close to St Peter's was great.
Location to the Vatican and transportation
only location and our receptionist , Stella's warm wellcome and her goodwill hygien, room , all facilities of the hotel.
The staff were kind and accommodating. They even taught us how to get around Rome by bus. The location of the hotel was ideal and safe. The breakfast was prompt and good! The shower curtain was a bit dirty and the shower drain did not work well, but in totality, we were satisfied.
The building was charming and the staff were wonderful!! This was in a nice safe area of Rome. By the Vatican but a bit removed from central Rome so getting to many places took taxi rides...
proximity to bus stop, convenience store to buy bus ticket and cheap breakfast, proximity to the Vatican. the room they put us in was so noisy due to traffic. It was hot at 29 celsius and the hotel staff did not want to turn on the aircon for us and did not move us to another room. We either close the window and sleep on a very hot room or endure the noise.
Shower is too small.
The room was a bit small, but it was clean and neat and it was a good place to stay on our first night in Europe.
Getting up to it was a problem. It was close to the Vatican but it was a chore going up and down to get there. The bed was too hard.
Very close proximity to the Vatican and to a major public transportation station (St. Peter's), but only for the surface train and the bus, NOT the metro. Also, there are numerous small restaurants within ten minutes walking distance - none within a few blocks, but still nearby. The breakfast was great - included scrambled eggs and bacon, which we haven't found at any European hotels yet, not even Disney hotels. The front desk has the standard tourist maps of Rome available and are very helpful at explaining directions and the use of public transportation. It is possible to view the dome of St. Peter's Basilica from the outdoor patio. For a family suite, at the price we paid, we usually get at least two separate sleeping rooms, but in this case all of the beds were in the same room. It was pretty cramped, and no privacy. Parking is almost impossible, you just have to be there at exactly the right time. The hotel cannot help with providing any parking. Wifi/Internet is not free, it's actually fairly expensive, so we didn't use it. The walk up the hill is not for the faint of heart. It's very difficult to find this hotel by car. Late night staff do not speak English.
extremely clean and tidy. well priced. reasonable breakfast(one cant expect champagne at £40 per night) asked 4 my telly to be fixed as it didnt have all channels it was advertised as having. it didnt get done.
The WIFI internet connection was very good, the food was excellent, and the staff attention was friendly.
The best breakfast (of 3 hotels I stayed during this timeframe) Location--the top of a hill
afternoon desk clerk was very helpful. Recommended tours were not good.
Convenience of place in relation to Vatican & size of room. Breakfast was the same everyday no change in the items to eat became a bit monotonous after a few days. I booked two double superior rooms - I would debate whether the second room was a superior room as it was about a quarter of the size of the other room and had no balcony etc. No facilties in the hotel i.e. to buy a drink at night time or even a pool/ ping-pong table if you don't want to go into the centre. Also at the top of a hill which I would not recommend for those who have difficulty walking, can be overcome by the number 34 electric bus which drops off not far from the hotel.
Good breakfast, polite and efficient staff. Poor quality air conditioning unit which had little impact on the room temperature. This was important as temperatures were nearly 40 degrees celsius.
the main problem was - it was kind of hard to find hotel itself. I would suggest to put more clear directions with mentioning the bus number which you have to take in order to reach it.
Good value for the money, nice staff, clean rooms. I recommend to everyone.
When I advised the desk clerk that the bathroom door stuck on the bottom and was not easily moved, he promptly had it fixed. He also very kindly lent me a socket adapter for my electric razor. Small bathroom - difficulty moving around because the door was always in the way. Advertisement said there was air conditioning, but my room did not have it. Desk clerk said my single room was one of the few not having that service.
I asked for taxi to the airport since I had to leave very early in the morning. They offered me a "private service" for 60 Euros. They told me that the price was equivalent to that of a normal taxi since it was a night service to the airport. At the airport the driver told me that I was not able to give me an invoice since he was not the owner of the cab, they borrowed him the cab. He promised me to send the invoice via mail.
The staff were friendly and helpful its location was not very convenient
My wife and I found the hotel staff to extremely helpful. They helped us navigate our way around Rome which was huge seeing as how it was our first there. The room key had to be in a slot inside the door for the lights/power to work which was really inconvenient. The room was oddly set up (felt cold) and the bed was pretty uncomfortable.
The procedure of accommodation was very simple, and the staff was pretty kind.Food was also pretty good. I didn't like the fact the the TV had very few channels, which just one or two working good. The fire alarm started in the middle of the night, and lasted about one hour without being any fire. This was very unpleasant.
The room is amazing and very comfortable. The breakfast is good. It should be information on the hotel's website about how to get the hotel from the airport by public transportation. I was lost and had many problems to find out the bus number, which is the 246. Thus I had to spend money to get the hotel by taxi,...
Breakfast was good. Availability of Internet. Hotel was within close proximity to Cornelia bus and metro station. Hotel staff arrogant with non-Italian speaking guests. Staff also provide incorrect information about international calling rates and taxi fares. Room complaints (e.g. missing shower door, noisy neon light, etc) were not fixed by the hotel staff.
The hotel is situated in a very nice, green area of Roma. Although we had a room at 6th floor the view was very beautiful - we could even see, in a distance, the St. Pietro Dome. It is not very near the centre of the city (also not exhaustingly far as we feared before arriving) but the connections by bus and subway were very good. The bus station is exactly across the street and except week-end (when you have to wait longer) the bus comes every 5-10 minutes and it can take you to a subway station. The breakfast was ok: they served sliced cheese, ham and italian salami, cereals, yoghurt, milk, jam, different tipes of bread, a variety of croissants, canned stewed fruits, coffee, tea, juice. Nearby there are good, not expensive restaurants. The furniture in the room was a little damaged (a broken drawer), but this didn't affect us at all. They did some renovations in the next room one day and, in another, the elevator did not work but also because of renovations. The window frames are of wood and not very tight and if it is a cold weather it will blow a little current in the room but you can draw the big curtains.
