Comfortable, modern hotel. Restaurant quite good and not too expensive for type of hotel. Catering for huge tour groups - not ideal if solo traveller. Room too hot with no way to open windows. Air conditioning poor or switched off? Corridors are tiled rather than carpeted = lots of noise as people return to rooms at night and early morning.
big room, stelish far away from downtown
Modern rooms, good sized rooms Far from main attractions, not close to a metro station, no room service (food/drinks) poor sound proofing between rooms, noisey hallways due to marble floors.
Large, modern and comfortable rooms, quiet and clean;
Good location, quiet area.
Perfect hotel if you got a car, a bit far from the city historycal center, but very close of the heart of EUR.
everything was fine except shower was cold, and no compensation. Also breakfast room was poor, with only large table for groups
It is new constructed pleasant hotel I dont like fact that if you want watching free tv-channel you must pay, also the hotel has not free of charge WiFi internet conection...Hotels staff is not informed about public traffic transportation..
room confort and design, silence, excellent breakfast and nice business centre
rest at nights breakfast spa and pool out fo order
Friendly staff, beautiful decor and good location
The hotel was near the train, that was very useful. The surroundings could be improved. But it was a great value for the money.
The Hotel is very new...Recently opened. Very modern decoration...Excelent staff and service. Also the location is good (200 mt from Metro and 200 mt. from Cristoforo Colombo's Avenue (arriving by car). No problem to park the car near the Hotel The name outside is not visible for the drivers.
The hotel was very spacious and renovated which we enjoyed. Also a short walk from the metro which is 10 minutes away from the center of the city. There was a nice bar to relax after a long day next to the lobby. The only major complaint for our room was the fact that the window overlooked the main street which had lots of traffic and noise, hence the sleepless nights. This can be avoided by requesting a room off the main street. Also the hotel charges for internet use(although they don't mention it when you ask to use their computers) but WIFI is free if you have your own laptop. The computers at the hotel did not work which was inconvenient as we needed to print our boarding passes but they were kind enough to allow us to use the computer in the office. The hotel was not very clean, the toilet and the bathroom were clean but the floor were dusty and not sweeped.
Amenities, staff, clenlieness and convenience in location just blocks from Marconi metro. Pricing was fantastic.
The local is OK not to far of the metro station Very noisy, the room is very small not like 4 star hotel.
the staff was great..always looking to help...the location of the hotel was great since the metro station was less than a 5 min walk away
Nice hotel with small, but really confortable rooms. Breakfast of good level. Really modern furnishing and good internal bar.
Good location for a business traveler, clean, staff very accommodating, good price Intermittent internet connection
very friendly staff, nice ambience and decor, excellent intro rates could have been a bit closer to the centre
The staff are very helpful especially the night guys!! the gym was not available
great hotel, nice and cool, easy to get, clean, special. i'm very satisfied the only negative thing is that during the breakfast, i can't drink a cup of warm coffee, because there only coffee thermos.
close to metro/train
Beautiful design, near metro and bus stations. The rooms are spacious and really nice. Everything was ok, maybe the breakfast could be richer
very good hotel very good location the air conditioning was switched of (no possibilty to turn it on)
Location is ok. Room is ok. The wi-fi at the room does not work. The bed is a bit small
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel. It was a bit different because of the art angle, but very comfortable and will located in Rome within walking distance of most of ancient Rome. I'd stay there again. Nothing serious
Silence in the room / breakfast When we complained about the noise from upstairs, the reception quickly solved the problem (maybe called the room?).
Nice clean rooms, friendly staff, free internet, good breakfast
The beautiful breakfast room and garden
Staff was very friendly, breakfast excellent! The only point is you have to walk little bit from metro, but hotel is located in quite place, that is very good.
staff and cleanliness poor breakfast selection
Proximity to the Metro system was good. The facilities advertised, i.e. pool and gym were separate from the hotel and feeling unwelcome is an understatement. The bar area was tinny, small and underground... In fact we skipped breakfast for the whole time we were there even though we had paid for it and ate in a lovely cafe at the bottom of the road.
Breakfast was quite good. No hot food but other selections were good. Beds were hard and showers small but this seems to be typical of European hotels. Tea and codffee making facilities would be appreciated. Just a small thing but not difficult for the hotel to do. Location was a bit further out - train station was a fair walk away although this did not bother us - about 400 meters.
We didnt stay in the hotel because the swimming pool was closed no swimming pool as [promised in the website
the room was clean, pretty quiet, excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, swimming pool
Easy to get to by car. Was close to the metro and was about 25 minutes to the colosseum from and 1 hour to St Peters from hotel. Breakfast and restaurant were really good and gym is excellent. Just beware travelling metro at peak times gets very crowded.
The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable; water was always hot and plentiful. Reception staff were helpful about getting to the tube and places to eat. We booked on basis that we could use a gym and the swimming pool. These turned out to be private facilities, rather than owned by the hotel so we felt rather unwelcome. We were told our children (aged 11, 13 and 15 who are good swimmers) were not allowed to use the pool, which was tiny in any event and adults had to wear a swimming cap which they could not supply us with and since we had no notice of this, we could not swim either. They suggested wearing a plastic shower cap which was clearly ridiculous! Staff at breakfast were a little grumpy. Over all, things were adequate but nothing we could enthuse about.
Comfort and cleanliness of the rooms. Politeness of desk staff Waitresses at breakfast who tended to rush you if you were in the latter part of the brerakfast sitting. There seemed to be two standards of breakfast and the standard on the area where we ate did not seem as good as the other seating area.
Rooms clean, staff friendly and cooperative, distance to metro and bus is acceptable buffet at breakfast small, no hot dishes.
very nice, good location&price
Very nice hotel, good value for money. From the first glimpse the hotel seems to be far from center but actually it is located rather conveniently - 5-7 min to the bus stop and 10-15 min by bus to the Termini station or to the Pzza Venezia. Also you can get their from the airport by the ordinary (not Leonardo express) regional train (direction Fara Sabina) for less time and money: you get off the train at Ostiense station and exit to Pzzle Partigiani, take bus N 30 direction Laurentina, the stop you need is Navigatori (the 3rd from Ostiense), then you have to walk about 5-7 min to Casa Domitilla. They don't have any hot food (eggs of smth like this) for breakfast, but anyway the breakfast is very good :))
Big room with big balcony, heating, breakfast reach enough, staff very helpfull, good public transport communication with the city center Only one elevator was in operation ( and the second one was off completely ),we should have wait for it each time
Low price, big rooms, friendly staff. About 20 minuts to metro station garbetella. This is not 4-star hotel. You need to wait for hot water, towels smell like vinegar, coffee at breakfast is non-drinkable. below the standard but good for economic turists.
Good breakfast, vicinity to buses, good connections, friendly staff that speaks not only italian but also english, we got all the information that we needed from the recepcionists, windows were well insulated so there was no noise from the street traffic, rooms were clean. I will definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and colleagues. beds were too soft
location noisy guests
We really enjoyed our stay a hotel caravel. The staff were very nice and the breakfast was delicious!
Comfortable room and clean Dodgy area during the night
Fair location, well connected to the center of Rome; Very impolite and unwilling to help staff. Internet connection barely working; breakfast buffet poorly provided
15 min. from metro by foot or 5 by bus. 3 or 4 metro stations from the Colisseum. I asked for non-smoking room, but it was a smoking and the smell was not good. The breakfast is really poor.
cleaning and very good breakfast a little bit old equipment of bathroom
Location, since I had meetings close to your hotel. Good public transport connections to the center. Late check in. If you come tired from travel and you wait 14.00h is too much.
The Hotel is very cute and clean. The staff is super friendly and provide you will all the info you need.
Excellent breakfast, multilingual staff, large, nice room, with balcony, the romantic welcoming Location, no bath (only shower), elevator not functional
quality of hotel, good breakfast, helpful staff Location, metro is a 7 minute walk, not many stores or restaurants in area
Nice clean & modern rooms, friendly staff, a good selection for breakfast and quite close to transport links.
Clean, efficent and good value for money. Exactly what you need for a city break. Close enough to the centre to see all of the sites but far enough away to enjoy the local restuarants and not pay tourist prices.
close to transport links no smoking
the breakfast was really nice as well as the room service and the tideness of the room. the room was too small to be a quadriple one.
the shower and breakfast temperature of the room (too hot)
The room was quiet and clean. The location was far from city center. The nearby metro station had 15 min distance by walking.
For my particular case was convenient to be close to the business offices I had to visit in the EUR district. It was a very quite area at nights. Room was spacious, I was alone but there was space for a couple and two children. Heating was centrally controlled and it only worked during certain periods of the day. Breakfast choices were, let's say, quite limited. Mini-bar fridge was not clean
Located in the beautiful and quiet area, not far from the metro station, good breakfast, friendly staff
Excellent staff who do their very best to make your stay comfortable - they even mended my hairdryer and let me take breakfast back to my room! In residential/business area so perfect for conferences etc but some way on Metro from city centre.
Staff tried to be helpful and were friendly. Could not get the internet connection to work. Front desk was not able to print out a receipt for payment - but was posted to me later. Poor breakfast.
the room is clean.breakfast is good, I like their bread, very nice. location is ok, and you can very easy get bus to metro station. There are many mosquito in the garden, so be careful.
We were satisfied with the location of the hotel. It´s true that its not right in the centre of Rome but we wanted a calm area and so travelling by bus and metro to the centre wasn´t a problem. Everything we needed was close to the hotel - e.g. shopping centre, restaurant, bus stop in front of the hotel, park etc.
Kind staff, good hotel facilities, private parking, quiet part of the city, nice garden for relaxing and a morning cup of coffee. It takes a while to get to the nearest metro station by bus
Very clean room, helpful staff. Close to the city of Rome - easy access to the city by bus and then the metro. Parking available on the property.
Quiet, clean, spacious and comfortable. Location was great being in a huge city not far from the centre and set off the road was just like being in the country. Not a big breakfast but nice. Hotel they recommended for evening meal was very expensive and not that nice
Staff was very friendly and the room was just what we needed. Nothing special but the view and breakfast was great. The breakfast had pastries, warm cresaunts, cereal, fruit, juice and of course fresh italian coffee. It was perfect! Not too many places to eat with in walking distance, a very good restaurant is one block down in anther hotel though.
The only negative thing was, that the bathroom needs a renovation. There was dust on the walls and the fan in the bathroom was very dirty.
pleasant staff, nice inside garden, free wifi little bit complicated public transport but if you understand it its OK, only sweet breakfast, bathroom could be more clean
Very nice and cosy hotel - quiet and peaceful, although not so far from the city center (better on if you use a car). Rooms are clean and offer all that you would expect. Value for money is definitely 10/10! Although as a couple we both speak Italian in an adequate level, it is still hard sometimes to contact with staff that mostly can't speak english. This is the one point that should be changed (the staff though was friendly at all times).
The personnel was terrific and very helpful. Easy access to the city. Clean Rooms could use some renovations.
Very friendly staff, who spoke English. Although room was not on the large side it was perfectly adequate for our needs and spotlessly clean. Nice touch to have the towels changed each day, so often this doesn't happen. Only downside was difficulty in finding it and then when we did we couldn't locate the entrance. But that may say something about our map reading abilities!
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and gave us some great suggestions of were to go in Rome.
Convenience to Rome. Breakfast was good and included, you get 1 croissant but you can ask for another. Fridge for general use in the room. Hotel staff were pleasant and happy to help/give advice. Internet hotel rate was good and reflects accommodation but had to book 3 days direct with hotel and thought rate was too high for facilities offered, but due to location convenience to family had to book. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room but there were ample cafe/bars right by the hotel offering local prices.
Hotel Derby was located in a quiet residential neighbourhood with easy access to the rest of the city by Metro. The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. We have travelled extensively in more than seventy countries and for many years we have tried to avoid booking rooms in the main tourist areas.
The hotel is conveniently close to the metro stop (10 minutes on foot) in a relatively quite neighborhood. My single room was very small, but clean and well furnished. Staff was competent, and buffet breakfast - albeit limited with regards to selection of food and beverages - was of good quality.
The friendly and helpful staff especially those manning reception Our first room was fairly noisy but staff were very helpful in relocating us to a quieter room
1. The staff are very friendly, helpful and speak English well. 2. The room is good and clean. 3. It's not too far away from tube station. 4. It's quiet at night. 5. There are many good restaurants in the area. 1. Breakfast is too simple. 2. The speed of Internet is not good enough.
Friendly and helpful staff at the reception, good location with easy acccess to the city centre, room was being kept clean every day, breakfast was not very rich but ok. Hot water took way too long to warm up. No free wifi at the room.
Very, the staff was beyond polite, always ready to help, good localization.
the room was nice and clean> the location wasnt great, it was near the metro but that was the best thing about it.
Excellent breakfast; room was clean and confortable, and relatively quiet, wi-fi internet available without charge, reasonnable restaurant just beside the hotel, bus stop at 2 minutes walk from the hotel, which take us to the San Paulo metro station The matress was too soft, the bus service unreliable, sometimes 30 minutes wait; rooms not soud proof; we could hear any noise in the rooms beside like snoring or toilet flush
Receptionist was very helpful and friendly. Very thin walls, everithing can be heard from outside and from the neighbouring rooms; public transport possibility to the city centre is not really comfortable, the bus comes very rarely; breakfast is a bit simple.
Unique hotel-very friendly front desk-nice breakfast
We loved the bed and the breakfast. They have a great hot chocolate, fresh bread and fresh fruit. The staff was very friendly. The restaurant right by the hotel has the best pizza from Rome. The hotel seems to have different kind of rooms. On our arrival we stayed in a room with a small bathroom and the heater didnt work. The next day we changed to a much better room .
Room was very clean. Staff very kind and helpful. Free internet access is the most important. Very good restaurant close to the hotel. That on weekend cleaning service started to make a lot of noise in the morning in the hall with vacuum cleaner and so on, so you can not sleep until late. But it is just because I really like to sleep. :) And also public transport connection was not easy.
friendly hosts, quiet location -
Comfortable hotel. Good restaurant close. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast might be better (mostly pastries instad of bread).
It was quiet, so that you could relax and not have to worry about alot of people. Was close to alot of main areas, just had to take a taxi or the bus. The staff was very, very nice to me and extremely helpful. To be able to order food, like lunch or dinner. There was only 1 restaurant and then the mall to eat at.
Proximity to local transport No kettle in room
WiFi connection, generous breakfast, quiet location. Thin walls so could hear noisy kids in next room. It took a bus and train to get into central Rome and sometimes the connections were very poor.
