The apartment itself is situated inside an older Roman building, complete with atmospheric courtyard garden, invitingly shadowy lobby and old-fashioned, creaky lift. Yet it is spotless and modern, and the rooms were laid out so that I had complete privacy. (I don’t know what the other rooms look like, but I used the green room at the end of the hall, which opened out into the courtyard and had an en-suite bathroom with shampoo and body wash). There are two cats, one shy and one friendly. I never got to meet the retiring cat, but the friendly cat was incredibly sweet. Even for those who don’t like cats, however, I have to say that as the rooms are in a different area of the house behind closed doors, you’ll only see as much of them as you wish.
