The hotel is apparently shutting down. Everything (including even the hotel lobby) was closed. Had to check in via make shift desk in basement/delivery entrance. Looked like it was falling apart. Staff was so minimal the “front desk” was often empty, requiring long wait to get help with anything. However they still had audacity to charge a “resort fee”. I’ve stayed over many times over the years- it’s unrecognizable. Definitely avoid. It will be closed down soon for sure.
Being we are in the middle of a pandemic, the staff was still amazing. From check in to check out, they were friendly, accommodating and on top of their game. This alone made the stay a very pleasant stay.
Unfortunately, the things that could have improved the stay were simply out of the hands of the hotel’s staff. We are in The midst of a global pandemic, and the Hudson staff did a tremendous job making my stay a good experience.
The rooms are cool and dark and surprisingly quiet if nobody is in the hallway. The staff were doing their best, but dealing with a difficult set up. So on that front, I really want to be as positive as possible. I get this is a really difficult time. There is literally nothing else positive to say about this hotel
It is the middle of a pandemic, the first room we went into had dirty tissues on the bed and half the pillows missing. They did their best but took half an hour to find an alternative (using the last remaining minutes that anything was open in the area to get dinner). They haven't spent a cent on this hotel in the 11 years since we last stayed there - it was so rundown and awful that with the additional aspects of covid (temperature checks etc..) it was a quite dystopian experience. With holes kicked in the doors and walls, the stench of smoke everywhere, the once famed escalator closed and dusty, entrance through the loading dock, questioning at the security guards office and dark and closed off retail areas Stanely Kubrik couldn't have created a more realistic nightmare. Truly awful and memorable for all the wrong reasons.
Staff was great.
It took forever to get an elevator. The room had no fridge. Room is very small.
The location
The staff, check in pieces, room cleanliness and so much more
Library bar
Tired decor, restaurant is closed for renovation, continental breakfast on paper plates
Seen better days
Great common areas. Friendly staff. Cool decor. Hip environment all around.
The rooms are not $350 or more a night kinda rooms. They’ve just let them get worn out over the years. I don’t mind that they are small. I had an exposed wall in the closet, my shower curtains were old and a bit dirty. The rooms need some sprucing up for sure.
BEAUTIFUL DECOR, COMFORTABLE BEDS, GREAT FOOD,GREAT LOCATION. WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO ANYTHING IN THE CITY.
BATHROOM WAS TINY
Old and Tired former Modern Hotel. Another Philp Starkdisappointment
Hotel Lobby is nice
Hotel has not had adecúate maintenance . Basic things such as fixing dings in the walls , painting corners of walls are not being done. Room is too small for price paid.Hiding poor maintenance with low lighting on the hallways is not enough.Another Philippe Starck Design Hotel Disapointment
Any hotel in the neighbourhood would be a better choice.
Nice central location
Tiny rooms. Inconsiderate staff (With the acceptation of the manager) Bed not as advertised. Insect infestation. Poorly maintained facilities.
Loud hotel. Dated facilities. Nothing is very clean. Limited dining options.
very dirt
it's like sleeping in a shoebox with only one window and very small gives claustrpfobia sleep there not recommended
