Okay the Hudson has a fantastic location - walking distance to subway, Central Park, theatre district and Times Square. That alone makes it a great choice. We didn't take the opportunity to eat there, but the Library Bar was very nice. Staff were good and helpful. The rooms are small, that is a reality, but we knew it in advance. This is not a problem for a short stay. Beds were comfortable and we had ample storage for a few days need. Three things would help the Hudson greatly: (a) Consider additional secondary glazing on windows - street noise (we were 5th floor) suggested the windows are single glazed. A retro fit additional layer would help greatly and probably make the hotel more efficient for heat retention, so a win-win. Single glaze windows in 2019 is costing you money, particularly during winter. (b) A couple of dollars per room would buy a stick on plastic layer (contact roll) for the window between room and shower. It could still let light through but would give the person using the shower more privacy. It was not an issue for me and my wife, but if you had teenage kids with you, they would not shower with parents in the room. I am sure you have heard this before and it would solve many negative feedbacks. Both of the above suggestions are inexpensive upgrades worthy of the Hudson. (c) Your external signage is tiny. Not a huge problem in the days of GPS, but you're not going to get passing traffic business. It may also seem obvious that you take the escalator to reception but we had two people ask us where was reception - a sign would help. These three simple things would cause your rating to go way higher - trust me - I have 40 years experience of staying in hotels.
Signage, window sound proofing and shower window - as explained above.
To small , and dark
The location of the hotel was excellent being so close to Central Park. The staff were excellent . The room was very clean and comfortable. I had a very pleasurable stay. Checking in and out were easy and they were happy to keep our suitcases till we were ready to leave for the airport.
The room was quite small although I was on my own and it was not a big issue. I would have found it more of a problem if I wasn't. Also there was a glass window between the bathroom and bedroom again no problem as I was on my own.
The hotel is very well localized.
The decoration is terrible, they don't serve breakfast and if you go by car, it is very difficult to localize the hotel.
Location. Concicerge was exceptional.
Room was unbelievably small. Bathroom pitifully small and cramped. One had to be IN BED to watch TV. NO ROOM TO WALK AROUND OR EVEN UNPACK. No coffeemaker. Impossible to see out window, which was behind and over bed.
