Exquisite
This building and its decor is wonderful. A castle built from a warehouse, but filled with a beautiful ( if not a little bit tacky) and wonderful array of artefacts. I though it was great. The room was clean, very comfortable. The reception was helpful in ordering me a takeaway, as the restaurant was shut ( this was during Covid)
Nothing
Fantastic stay, did not mind...
Everything was superb. Just the location lets it down but the facilities and the hotel itself was fantastic.
Location was the only thing you could complain about. It was in an industrial area and away from the town area.
Perfect stay for an early...
Perfect location for an early flight from Málaga Airport. Easy to find. It is on an industrial estate, so car is preferable. Would definitely stay again.
Exceptional
Noise from factorys
Castle on the Industrial Site
Young receptionist on the Saturday and Sunday was very pleasant and helpful. Most comfortable hotel bed ever
Pool area closed off. This was not communicated in anyway at booking time or check-in. Bar closed from 2-6pm. Not good enough in a 4 star hotel. There was a function in the hotel so a bar facility is available to them but not overnight guests!!! Very strange. As I had paid in advance for my accommodation by Visa Debit, I was not allowed to put my lunch bill onto my room tab....I'm now staying in the Riu in Nerja and theres no issue in not having a credit card....Again this is not 4 star standard.
Always a pleasure to stay...
I always stay in that place whenever I have an early flight from Malaga airport. You need a car though but it worth it. Clean, nice room, quiet and good value for money.
I cant find anything I dont like about that place.
Very comfortable,nice pool
Handy for airport
Excellent quality and value for...
Price, staff,pool,room sizes.
A little rural. Taxi needed into malaga city centre.
Exceptional
Diversity on services, cars collection, decoration/ambient, landscape
All good
Terrible
The pool
Room was small, staff were not very happy and the restaurant poor.
Just what we required
Very close to the airport and taxi was waiting for us at 4.30am!
Good accomodation for an affordable...
Very good Location, interesting interior of the hotel.
Garage too small for a medium-large car and also pricey.
I really enjoed the staying in the hotel Plaza Castillo, I liked the architekture of the hotel and I appreciated quit place, in which is hotel located. I also really admired professional attitude of the staff in hotel Plaza Castillo in difficult term with starting coronavirus pandemia.
The castle feel, the big bath, the courtyard area with the fountain, excellent staff.
Not as close to the airport as we thought, but non the less a lovely little gem of a hotel with clean, comfortable rooms and an unusual castle themed exterior. Sadly due to the corona virus the bar, pool and restaurant were close. It was being run on skeleton staff who were helpful and polite, given the very unusual circumstances.
Clean and bright
It’s a comfortable room and decent bed. You have to be a contortionist to sit in the bath and squeeze the bath gel nailed to the wall. Had to stand up every time I needed soap, as I needed both hands to squeeze the bottle it was so stiff and too high on the wall. Bring your own free standing toiletries or shower. The other side of the bedroom wall (room 230) is the bar which must the only one in the area as it was busy, and right outside the bedroom window, the bar patio with people partying until early hours. Paper thin walls as well. We’d booked for 2 nights but ended up staying only one.

Surprisingly lovely! Seemed to be quite industrial around but the hotel was like an oasis. We arrived about 8.40 and had an excellent meal. Breakfast also very good. Room spacious and clean . Bed comfortable and good shower. Staff lovely.
Our room was next to the hotel toilets and they were used in the night and I’m a light sleeper

Staff very nice, good buffé with fresh orange juice, the hotel itself with the very enjoyable garden, nice large room. A good stop after/before flying
Almost no hangers in the room, smelly surroundings

proximity of location to airport
Breakfast begins at 7:30 in the morning, so for our airport departure was out of the question, since we had an early flight. Hotel is listed as providing airport shuttle, but upon arrival at the hotel, we learned that this is not necessary true: shuttle services are only available one-way, from hotel to the airport, and ONLY after 8:00, thus impossible for us to use
You can find a green garden, perfect breacfast and friendly staff.
The hotel is mixture between old and new.
Friendly efficient staff. Interior of building is "antique", including vintage car collection. Very pleasant courtyard gardens, a suitable site for a wedding on the day I left. Room was spotless, immaculately clean
Nothing can be done about the fact that this hotel is in the middle of an industrial zone with factories all around. Industrial equipment even rises above the battlements. If it was in open countryside it would be spectacular. As it is it is rather weird.
There wasn't a kettle in the room!
Beautiful hotel, very distinctive. Lovely rooms and the outdoor space was amazing.
Probably it's location
Good buffet breakfast, interesting restaurant menu. 25 minutes to the airport
Lovely relaxed atmosphere, but efficiently run. Breakfast very good and dinner in the restaurant even better. Staff couldn't be more helpful.
Hotel location on an industrial estate is bizarre, although there is a nearby bus into Malaga. Luckily we had read this in a review before arrival or we would never have found it.
N/A
1. marble floor tiles throughout the room and bathroom but no one-time use slippers provided. Unacceptable for a 4-star hotel. 2. we shared the room with a cockroach 3. very poor breakfast 4. the orange juice maker provided in the kitchen was unusable... I saw people trying to use it and giving up... 5. Hotel is very far from the city, you need a car or taxi. 6. No shops nearby 7. Complimentary Champagne promised but never delivered. I could go on forever, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to anyone.
Beautiful castle
No ride to the airport as published, had to call a taxi. Poor rooms. Expensive frozen food. Bed bags...far away from any facilities (restaurants, bars...)
The possibility to take a picknick box with us instead of waiting for the breakfast at 07:30.
Little noise (music) during the night.
Close to the Airport, perfect place where to rest if you land late at night. Hotel is very nice (unique and relaxing atmosphere), great staff and good breakfast (sweet and savory).
Neighborhood not that nice
Lovely hotel on a industrial estate but you won’t know when your inside close to the airport for a early flight good food for dinner pub/ bar attached To the hotel we were going to go into Malaga but the setting in the hotel were so nice just stay there staff very friendly
Nothing sorry photo not in order
The spa was amazing
milk in the fridge for coffee
The yard was nice and fairly clean. About 12 km from the airport. Free spacious parking for the car
Very small room, a bit outdated. I wouldn’t say it corresponds to 4 star, but more like a 3 star hotel. Old towels, no boiler for tea making in the room. Lack of jacket hangers in the entrance or elsewhere. Located in an industrial area.
Very helpful and friendly front desk staff - excellent shower water pressure - close to airport for early a.m. departure. Prepared a ‘to-go’ breakfast for me. Stay here!
No negatives
No ! 2 star is better they look after clients!! Your castille is visually for to impress. You offer nothing to the clients. Your attitude is how can we persuade them to unleash there money too us. BY DISPENSING machines , cheap carbohydrate food dispensed at our so called restaruant .Staff grumpy ,in particular large person on staff more interested in his phone. I will pass my comments on to social media to give your hotel a resounding MISS!!!!!!
Shut down the hotel and start again. ??Bring in all new staff the tiny current manager is most unhelpful !!! Make the castille desirable, and introduce tea/coffee facilities on arrival instead of sweets.
The beds were comfortable. Squeeze your own orange juice was amazing
I did tell management at the time just how terribly slippery the bathtub was - as a consequence i sat down quickly with a thud. I have a very bad knee as a consequence - never had knee problems before. Hope with ice etc i can continue vacation!!
Everything very friendly, clean, relaxing. Senior solo female felt very safe. Courtyard wonderful!
Food not impressive. Inside hotel wonderful, outside NOT!!
The staff were amazing. The hotel was nice and clean. In terms of location it really was not a problem as you can order a taxi from the hotel or alternatively you can catch the number 19 bus which is literally around the corner. It will take you straight into Malaga Centre for €1.3. Nice hotel restaurant food is nice and the coffee was amazing!! Best one i had in a long time.
Even the location was not bad. Bus stop around the corner so no problem really
Building.
Nice and convenient for the airport and the second time we have stayed here. 10 minute easy drive to the airport. Food good in the hotel restaurant and staff very helpful
Aware of noise from a neighbouring room on this visit but wasn’t a problem the previous time.
Great breakfast, super-comfortable bed, wonderful staff.
The location was unexpected - in an industrial area. Returning from the city center by bus I was completely lost among the warehouses on a Saturday afternoon; luckily people came to my aid (the bus driver was extremely rude and didn’t let me off where I requested, and although my Spanish is adequate it wasn’t enough to understand what he yelled at me). Also, I wish there had been coffee and tea-making facilities in the room, but that’s not a big deal.
Great value for money.
Location is in an industrial estate. A car is a must have.
Convenient for the airport with late check in. Helpful staff. Very well appointed. Good breakfast choice.
The garden was nice
Some of the staff were unhelpful and tried to get ride of our queries like one morning there was no hot water in bathroom and all the reception could say that there were some maintenance n we would have to wait .. when asked how long the reply was could be one hour or more we cant say precisely... the sheets were only change once during our 8 nights stay that too when we requested if they could replace the sheets instead of using the same sheets again n again.. on 7th night pur car parked infront of entrance was broken into for a Superdry jacket... lost my house keys n little money.. all in all .. a complete disappointment
Nice sized rooms, very clean and comfortable, pretty interior courtyard, good restaurant, friendly, helpful staff, good security with free parking.
The location was in a semi-industrial area so the secure on-site parking was necessary. Nothing to see and no restaurants around the hotel, but on-site restaurant was good.
Very nice and helpful staff, great location, comfortable, well-equipped and modern. Gorgeously decorated. Lovely salon with free drinks.
Almost impossible to reach by car. Had to park farther away and roll suitcases. Only one mirror in the whole apartment so getting ready in the morning or at night was a struggle. Got water heater has such a small capacity that only one person can take a shower in the morning or in the evening.
Food was marginal, stale , breakfast food was ample but very stale.
Better food management
Alot of parking. Nice quirky environment . Spacious rooms. Quite value for money.
Really nothing near by. Best to have a car.
I liked only one old car inside hotel.
The room was not very clear.the bathroom was very old especially bathtub.the door of the bathroom was all in the holes.the room was on the ground flloor and isolation was very bad so you can hear all noises.
Convenient accommodation if arriving in Malaga from the airport and/or do not want to enter the city center. Convenient price. The hotel has a free parking, also possible to park for free in the little square facing the hotel
The location is inside an industrial area. Probably convenient for business, but there is nothing nearby, so if you would like to eat or drink anything you need the car (or you can use the other facilities). Room as standard. Not really a 4 star in my view
Perfetto ! Parfait ! Perfect ! As you travel throughout thé Time ... beautiful castillo !!! Great breakfast
Unusual location in amongst the industrial area however what a surprise when you arrive. Reception very friendly and helpful. Delicious breakfast and even fresh orange juicer. Making the best of Spains oranges in December.
Nothing, however it would be interesting for guests to have information about the reason the hotel was located there. I believe as a set for a film. If snippets of the film were shown on a wall as a slide show would be interesting.?
The hotel is absolutely stunning.... on the inside. The room was very clean, staff was helpful and friendly. Good bathroom (why do the tabs always have to be underneath the showerhead, when there is no way to reach them from the side???) with very good towels. The hotel seems to occupy a whole block in this industrial zone and has a huge patio/garden area in the centre.
First off, this hotel does NOT have airport shuttle service. They call a cab for you. This is an ongoing issue with hotels which claim they have a shuttle service but solely rely in taxis, which they are happy to call for you (duh!) Also, the hotel is NOT 5 km from the airport, but a 25 euro good 20 minute ride away. The taxi driver told me that when there is lots of traffic (I traveled around 06:30 in the morning) it is sometimes a problem because travelers think the airport is very close by. 11 euro from the ALSA bus depot to the hotel (more than 20 minutess) plus 25 euro to the airport. Better book a hotel in the centre with a free airport shuttle!!!! The hotel is in the middle of an industrial zone. Nothing is near by, no store, no restaurant (hotel has a restaurant), but I did not venture to take a stroll outside in the evening, because aside from stray dogs there is movement anywhere and too many dark areas. The room is ok, BUT... there is no decent chair to sit on, no free drinking water (common in many hotels in Spain), there are no tissues in the bathroom, a tiny micro piece of soap and squeeze dispensers for shower soap/shampoo and the shower is awkward to turn on without getting into the bathtub. No laundry bag is supplied either. The whole hotel gave a deserted impression, even though there were various guests that I saw. As a whole, this hotel is great for someone who travels with a vehicle and wants to be somewhere remote. I do not consider this to be a "bad" hotel, but it seems that it is a venture which needs someone with hotel experience in order to compensate and correct a number of issues which NEED to be addressed. To put this in a perspective of a very frequent traveller, this is not a place for someone relying on public transport, not for someone who uses the hotel as a point from which to walk about. The lack of a real shuttle service is inexcusable for the location of the hotel!
Medieval style, retro cars, beautiful courtyard. Quiet territory.
It's got a nice appearance, completely different to a normal hotel. Staff were friendly, the food was good and everything was reasonably priced including the mini bar! If you get the hire car you've got a full coast of destinations to visit and the weather is always great!
You need a hire car. Fortunately they were very reasonably priced at the airport Breakfast was nice but the heat lamps need turning up and the coffee machine isn't great
Incredibly friendly staff who are happy to help with anything. Great view from the rooms and the court yard is very pretty.
Location is great for the airport but not great for exploring - it's near a motorway and there are no shops or sights
A very nice alternative to a Malaga airport hotel with free parking.
Bed size was excellent and facilities were good.
Bed was soft
Beautiful garden and fountain, comfortable and clean room, amazing helpful staff!!
Nothing negative to say!
The castle atmosphere was awesome
Noisy water system and fountain but forgivable but maybe the fountain should be turned off at night
Clean, nice garden, nice bed, good wifi.
Quite isolated from most things.
The hotel, the room and the staff were brilliant. Staff were very helpful, nothing was a problem. They helped us arrange the hire if a car which we really appreci6. Dinner at night was delicious with very reasonably priced good wine and great service from a lovely waitress.
The only thing that let the hotel down was the buffet breakfast. We didn't enjoy breakfast at all. Looked like the food had all been out for hours. Fruit juices were far too sweet and not good quality except the fresh orange that you pressed yourself. Cooked food was very poor. Undercooked, overcooked, poor quality.
- Breakfast was great (until 11 a.m.) good choice of food and everything was fresh. - Building itself (and interior) were amazing, it was look like a renovated castle, also liked old cars inside. - Indoor park with its plants were great. - Parking was free of charge (You can park front of the building, but also can stay in the underground parking lot under the building. - Close to Malaga airport.
Actually there was nothing I didn't like. Only thing is, as we were here due to the castle feeling, close airport and good parking opportunity, for those who wants to be closer to the city centre, this accommodation is a bit far from there. However for us it was great as we didn't want to go into the city centre on that day.
Wide range of food and drink.
A long way from the nearest shop.
Hotel was nice and clean, very large room
Hotel is in the industrial area, you need a car Clean towels, but with small holes
Everything
Hot water are not fully control
The staff are very helpful. They arranged everything we need. Bed is very comfortable. Good location. Breakfast is super.
No nothing. Everything is perfect.
The best breakfast! This place is on the outskirts of town and it of the way but it's lovely staying in the middle of an olive orchard and farm. Very quiet and restful.
The shower was a little rustic.
The room itself was clean at least.
It was so hot at night that we couldn't sleep all night. My husband was drenched in sweat. I asked the front desk how to work the AC and they said thay it's central AC and they had already switched to HEATING ONLY because it was "winter" (in October). The only thing we could do was shut the AC. It was 20 celsius outside and 30 celsius inside the room. Couldn't open the window because there's no bug net, and there were mosquitoes outside. I asked for a fan which they also didn't have. We didn't sleep ALL NIGHT. The location is really out there, obviously you need a car. The food at the restaurant was not great and overpriced.
We had every day someone cleaning the bathroom and room
Couldn't move the window screen on the bath
Nice hotel but far away from the town. very comfortable and the breakfast was fascinated!
Nothing!
Nice and large hotel conveniently located near the airport of Malaga. Very friendly staf.
The breakfast was rather poor.
Pleasant garden courtyard. Quiet at night. Great breakfast choice (including fresh fruit and decaffeinated coffee). Took advantage of unheated salt-water swimming pool; but it wasn't open until 10am - so no pre-breakfast swim.
This hotel's isolated location in an industrial estate means it is not on the route of public or airport-hotel shuttle buses, nor shared shuttles. So the cost of solo private transfers from and to the airport nearly doubled the cost of my one-night stay. The hotel's 'own transfer' offer from the airport was 5euros more than I paid for a walk-up airport taxi. However, it is only 20 minute drive from the airport.
Nice location, very comfortable
The hair dryer was very weak
We had 2 short stays at the hotel , late arrival in the night and early departure in the morning. So we could not enjoy much the hotel facilities. But the hotel personell were very pleasant and the rooms were nice and clean. Just perfect for our needs

Comfortable beds. Helpful staff. Good bus service into the city. Secure car park.
The distance from the city centre and any other amenities like shops etc. The pool was in shade most of the day.
Clean hotel, good services, excellent bathroom, bar and restaurant were also both good. location is very convenient for the airport, but not much else within walking distance. Nice pool and garden areas. I would stay again if I had an early or very late flight and didn't want to drive very far.
Not much that can be changed
Very special hotel with old cars parked inside, swords and armour on the walls etc. Many things to look at for the kids! They managed to create a cozy ambience at the pool area although busy roads were close by. Tasty breafast buffe for 9 euros.
The pool was cooold!
Friendly efficient staff. I've stayed here a couple of times recently and had one late night arrival and one very early morning departure - in each case staff were very helpful. Breakfast and dinner were both fine - cheap and cheerful.
A lovely hotel BUT altho less than 4km from the airport it cost €25 taxi fare to get there
Excellent staff. Very nice architecture of the hotel with the rooms around a central courtyard. Clean conforbal rooms. Good beds. Spacious room and bathroom.
A bit noisy in the morning from the highway I think. Not a lot of useful shops around the hotel for necessities on a long stay.
Super offer price was good. Owing to location would not pay a higher price.
Difficult to locate . In the middle of an industrial estate. Roughly midway between Malaga Centre and airport. Hence car is essential.
It was very bad location
The Breakfast was very good.
Handy for the airport.
It is a weird place - like a 5 year old girl designed it - it is a bit tired for something that I imagine is not all that old.
Friendly staff, lovely courtyard, good rooms. Meals reasonable.
Location wasn't as near the airport as I had hoped so it was a €25 taxi ride to or from the asirport
Am a returning client . Most things are excellent and the late night pub food is excellent. Nice service.
Fridge not cold so my egg sandwich was inedible next day. Reception would not compensate with a fresh croissant - all I asked. Bad customer service when manager was away.
The faux castle is interesting and it looks pretty from inside the courtyard. The bed was comfortable and it was nice having a bath.
It’s in a bad location. I stayed as I thought it was closer to the airport then where I wanna staying in central Malaga, but actually the taxi fare was the same. The room was noisy with people singing and I was woke up a lot during the night. The pool seems to be a shade a lot so was very cold. The room was adequate although a little on the small side.
Friendly staff and comfortable room
Nothing to dislike
Everything the property was lovely,so was the staff and the food in the restaurant was very good
Where it was situated on a industrial park with nothing around but i dont think this hotel was built for holidaymakers however if you want a hotel for a night or two close to the airport you couldn’t go wrong with this one
Nice rooms
Despite being physically close to the airport it takes close to 20 min in a taxi and costs more than 20 euros to her to the gate.
Great hotel. Beautiful and clean and located 12 min from the airport. Nice crew. Highly recomended
A very good hotel if you are flying from Malaga Airport. Excellent rooms. Great food . Very clean and very close to the airport.
Friendly, always smiling staff, good breakfast, hotel area very beautyful, not overcrowded (at least in October)
Lots of circling on roundabouts to get there. Noisy on Saturday night.
The hotel had a large well maintained garden area to relax in.
Extremely clean and delightful hotel. Really enjoyable stay, staff were very friendly. Breakfast was amazing, fresh fruit and fresh orange juice machine, really amazing.
No tea or coffee machine in room and location is an industrial area, but location did not affect anything as the hotel was excellent
Great menu, relaxing courtyard.
Surprising location, great hotel for a stopover.
The bed was extremely comfortable
The hotel was comfortable, staff very courteous and helpful
It's a bit difficult to find the first time
