Very happy
Everything was first class. The staff were very attentive, especially waitress MARINA who are smile was infectious. Excellent experience
Nothing to dislike at all
Absolutely what we needed for...
I love this hotel. It exudes luxury and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. The Spa is beautiful.
After two stays, I feel the rooms are a little basic in considering the hotel is 5 star, and very grand in other areas, like the reception and even the drive in.
Lovely place to stay
Spa, service , location
The pillows
Bed size request
Beautiful, excellent decor
On the reservation we request a king size bed, however on arrival it was confirmed they do t have king size beds only for those with a suit, please do not advertise this as an option
Exceptional
Very nice hotel, little bit too expensive.
Spa for extra charge, swiming pool closed in March...
Good
When you arrive by car, the hotel is gorgeous! This was my second time, but still, it's amazing when you drive up to the hotel. It's big but very welcoming when you arrive.
For a 5 Star hotel, There are many things to improve. When I arrived with my car, at the entrance there was nobody to help me with my luggage. No welcome drink. I was here for the second time, and I expected the same treatment as the first time. The staff when checking in is nice. The rooms that were showed were not really what I expected. In the end, I chose an upgrade of €80. But the room was still not exactly what I had the first time. No hand sanitizer in the room. 1 little bottle of water for free. The remote to look for roomservice menu was not working. The breakfast was so so sooooo bad. No menu. The staff was just clueless and didn't tell you where to choose from. The dinner was very, very expensive for what you get.
Very beautiful building
This is an amazing building - both from the outside and the inside. This is for sure an experience to spend some time in it. The architects and interior designers did a great job. Good quality food at breakfast. Haven't charged us for parking. Overall, we are happy with many things with the hotel and we hope that they will fix the issues that we presented below. Maybe, if staff stays in their rooms themselves for some days, they will understand.
We liked the stay, but there were several things that could be better. We expected to get a double bed, when we booked, but hotel sent auto-message about not being sure that they can provide it. As most of the hotels are empty these days, we contacted hotel through booking to ensure that we get one, but haven't received any answer. This was important for us as it was our wedding night. When we came in, it turned out that hotel is nearly empty with only some rooms occupied. Staff tried to upsell us a room with the view, which felt unnecessary. Once we decided to take a rest, Staff knocked on our door and brought us two packs of water and two mini chocolates. (Note: we haven't told the hotel about wedding. So it is not about what we received, but only about the fact that you would like t those things to be in your room upon check-in. This review has nothing to do with us wanting any extras. We just wanted a good service.) The bed was a double, but unfortunately with two mattresses. No clear info printed in the room on what the hotel had to offer (spa etc.). Room temperature in the night too low for the blankets provided. I woke up and tried finding one with no success. Automated lights in the toilet turn on (you think then that you are alright and move forward) but then switch off, once you reach the seat. Bath tube not comfy (shape makes you sink) with a difficult-to-manage crane on the side, with water stream going onto your leg, no matter how you move. Water in bath - greenish/yellow. No toilet brush in the toilet. Difficult to understand what they had to offer for breakfast, as we have been told "everything" and then we had more or less to guess what it was, apart from coffee&juice. Probably, most of the things could be solved, if we put one hour research onto information available through TV-set and then called to reception some times, but we did not have time for this.
Superb
Delicious lunch and breakfast Beautiful decoration Nice view of sea
wifi
Passable
Very nice staff, confortable bed, big room, nice design of the hotel.
It was the only hotel that costed 150€ during our stay, other hotels being max. 50€. We chosen that one because we tought it will be an amazing experience. We announced that we celebrate our anniversary and to be sure that the room is wonderful. When we arrived, nobody helped us with the luggages feom the car. We entered in the hotel, at the reception, and while going to the elevator, they asked us if we need help with luggages. Lol. They made a cute arrangement of towels in the room, but: The coffee machine was not working, the doors in the bathroom could not be closed, the hair drier was making a weird noise. The bathtube has a design that when you get up, it is impossible not to scratch yourself or hurt your body. The mirror with leds it is at a height of aprox 1.65 m, without the option to put it higher or lower. At my height, 1.77, I was standing really hunched to do my make up. Only one small window in the room, so limited light. The bef was big and confortable, but no counterpane in the room, just double sheet with a thin blanket. We made a reservation at the restaurant of the hotel, the menu had maximum 10 items and all overpriced. The restaurant kind of empty-furnished, but with nice view. We were late for breakfast and they were kind enough to receive us, but for 25€ per person, was way too poor in options. The hotel itself it was beautiful, but not our room. The staff nice enough, but not with the facilities that should have a 5* hotel. I personally was dissapointed of the whole experience.
Amazing from start to finish
Team amazing
Lovely
I absolutely love the hotel and everything about.
We had to leave.
Superb
It was very modern and clean and luxurious. My partner and I just got engaged and they prepared the room with rose petals and champagne, it was perfect! The staff were very nice! It was expensive but you definitely get what you pay for. The lobby is just gorgeous! And our room was always left immaculately after the cleaner had been in, she did a great job!
Unfortunately with covid restrictions you can’t pour your own juices breakfast and need someone to pour it for you, it would be nice if they came around with juice more often...
Exceptional
one of the most beautiful hotels in Spain
Excellent hotel!
All was at the level of a 5-star hotel
Nothing to complain of.
Top of the range Malaga...
The hotel is modern and quite spectacular. Certainly the best in Malaga. If you have the budget, best to get a room with a sea view. Worth it!
Immediately around the area there isn't a great deal to do. Expect to have to walk a fair bit to soak up the sights of Malaga. The port is nearby but not very exciting.
Passable
No cocktail bar open etc. Etc.etc Nothing happening there, like an old barracks

Clean. Beautiful

Location, spa, breakfast, architecture, friendliness of staff, impeccable rooms and cleanliness

Good
Beautiful hotel in beautiful grounds.
We booked a premier room which was very nice but maybe a little in the small side.
Pleasant
Lack of staff meant basics such as room service and pool service were not met despite complaining and being reassured several times
Great hotel, but a bit...
So many lovely things about this hotel! The architecture, the design, the people are so nice and speak English and French! The swimming pool, the room, the bathroom, the location, the breakfast... I had a really nice surprise on my birthday morning. It was so nice of them!
You have to pay extra to go to the spa, I think for the price of the room, it could be a package. It's 25€/pers for only 1 hour (without a massage). The price of the restaurant. I pay 16€ for just 1 prawn!!!! 😱 Yes you will be angry and hungry after that. The outside swimming pool is really cold.
Superb
Excellent room with lovely view! Spa was wonderful, as well as food and the hotel is beautiful. Definitely hope to return!
Roof top bar was closed for more than half the time I was there. Very slow service at pool and in bar next to pool.
Fabulous hotel, Staff were lovely...
This is by far the nicest hotel in Malaga. From the moment you walk in the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We were given a beautiful Moroccan style bedroom on the side which was lovely and quiet. The view was a bit restrictive but that didn’t matter. The cleaning staff were wonderful. A true 5 star hotel right next to the old town and overlooking the beach.
Minor things was the shower pressure wasn’t great and the drinks a little bit expensive but it is a 5 star hotel so what can you expect.
Passable
Spa costs, staff on entering the property on several occasions
Fantastic! Highly recommended!
Everything very very good but swimming pool opening hours too limited. Decoration ok but a bit kitsch Very Beautiful hotel and lounges, great breakfast and garden and terraces. Fantastic location by the seaside and still in the city
Window of my room a bit too little
Beautiful hotel, nice location
Beautiful design in and outside the hotel. The location right in front of the beach and the long boulevard. The bed was really comfortable.
Some of the staff members appeared uninterested and arrogant, it really didn't suit the vibe of the hotel. The price of €25 pp for an hour swim in the inside pool.
Pleasant
clean and comfortable rooms
the swimming pool is to small compared to the hotel size. the rooftop bar is not accessible to kids, even when is empty and the bar staff are rude.
Passable
I liked the pool, grounds, rooftop terrace and aesthetic of the hotel.
This was my second visit. The first was exceptional. I notified the hotel prior to my arrival that I would be early and requested early checkin. This was due to my Mother having disabilities. We were made to wait 2 hours. The lady at reception was curt with me, I did not appreciate this. Car was not parked and I had to request assistance with luggage. It is a struggle to find a bed near the pool. People leave towels for hours only not to return. The lifeguard kindly assisted. No drink on arrival. Service was below par. I was disappointed on this trip.
Exceptional
Everything was perfect
Great palace, historic buliding but with all modern amenities. Extremely clean to deal wih covid 19 challenges. Marble Pool was very nice. Staff was extremely helpful and professional and all with a smile. Breakfast was great, served on a nice terrace...worth noting they found a way to propose a breakfast buffet with all the new safety measures required because of Covid. We hope to come back soon and have a longer stay. We can only recommend this palace. Free car park on-site, which is pretty rare,
Dinner was fine but a bit below our expectations considering the overall very high quality of other services. Bed was a bit hard for us (but we are difficult ;-))
Everything was excellent
Nothing
I was impressed by the standard of cleanliness and steps taken to protect guests and staff in light of Covid 19.
Nothing
Very special place. The decor of the rooms is stunning. Great staff. Great food.
The hotel didn’t meet my expectations but it could have been that we visited shortly after lockdown was eased.

Amazing location stunning hotel
Amazing location stunning hotel
The hotel is beautiful, the staff excellent and the location perfect for enjoying central Malaga. The room was immaculate (as one would expect) and spacious.
The mini bar took almost the length of our stay (12 hours) to turn on, so we had to get a bucket of ice sent up to cool down beverages, which I thought was a bit poor. We had an 'Ocean View' room - overlooking the sea but unfortunately, also overlooking the main drag, which was noisy until about 3a.m.. After which time we could only hear the sea.

Brilliant location, beautiful hotel, views of the beach fantastic. Staff friendly & efficient. Only drawback, guests putting their towels around the pool first thing, meant no seating. It was like that all day every day. So I didn’t get to enjoy the pool at all.
As I said above. The only negative selfish guests.

Our room was huge, lovely spa, polite staff

Hotel should have told us it was closed.
Meet all the 5 star standards. Breakfast is perfect
Nice hotel, but a bit lack of atmosphere. If compare to other hotels we stayed during our trip to Spain, it looked like a regular hotel, even though meet all the 5 star standards. Dinner was just ok
Beautiful place
Breakfast could have been better (just for that kind of property). Difficult to get staff’s attention.
Rooms were cleaned at least twice a day. Staff were willing to help you with almost anything including getting your taxis for which you waited all if 2 minutes for, recommending hotels and general advice.
Beautiful location. Lovely views and friendly staff.
This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in! It is a literal palace on every level. The service is exemplary, the room was amazing, the Spa is incredible and the grounds are outstanding. I will be returning in the future.
I loved everything!
Nice Luxury hotel
Stunning building with lovely staff and short walk into the old town. Attention to detail was excellent such as usb charging points, selection of pillows and coffee machine. Very good underground parking at the hotel with valet parking if needed. Outside pool was a good size and the terrace overlooking the pool and sea a lovely place to relax.
Can’t think of anything
Beautiful building with lovely bedrooms and public areas
Poor service in the bar and at the pool area. The dining options were very formal.
The hotel is very luxurious and the staff are excellent especially at Reception. We asked to change rooms for one with a balcony and the request was dealt with immediately. Very impressive
Nothing
The hotel was perfect opposite the beach. Immaculate gardens on front with private gate to rear to access beach. Lovely and clean the staff couldnt do enough
Absolutely nothing
Staff weren’t very helpful on reception desk, had to find own way to room, when your tired etc not so good. Staff not good all together by time leaving had found out how to book tables ahead etc
Decor Beds general feeling of relaxed luxury
Car parking fee quite high
Location and a wonderful place to stay.
Nothing!
Everything. Exceptional hotel.
Nothing to dislike.
Everything !
Waiters not always on the ball for 5 star hotel . Service could be much better.
The room was very spacious and clean Room service very fast Pillow choice menu
Service at the pool super slow Spa facilities fully booked Food via room service nice but very expensive for what it is Recommendations for outside restaurant dissapointing Knowledge of English extremely poor Mistake in final invoice of 75 euro...
Lovely building and location. Comfortable bed. Very clean. Great recommendations from consierge. Great location, we loved Malaga. Ask for Monica the private tour guide, superb.
Main restaurant bit drab and lacking atmosphere. Fruit 2 mornings was cut with an onion knife! Main hall stunning but not light in such a way it was cold and not inviting. Needed better lighting, small lamps on tables, candles etc. Was too open and cold.
Fantastic beautiful clean amazing hotel would stay again in a heartbeat
Alot of extra costs for example the spa.. drinks very expensive and restaurant overrated for price
Staff was very helpfull, professional and service-minded. Quality bed and pillows.
Even a hotel guest has to pay 25 euros for just a swim in the indoor swimmingpool, without any wellness treatment! I wonder if dress code should be imposed again?
Equipements, food, staff amability
Spa forbidden for children even if they are quiet
The place is charming, right by the sea but with privacy.
The room service menu is rather limited.
A wonderful hotel in a great location - we stayed February with beautiful sunny days - the only reason not 10/10 is due to the lack of a intimate bar area - that aside great hotel
Location, building, friendly staff
Had to call for toiletries as some were not available in the room.
Great spa, excellent breakfast, terrific room, nice atmosphere, good bed!!
The design if the hotel is so attractive, the room size is good.
Some of the staff are kind while the other are not. I would say there is not standard on terms of customers treatment
Exceptional. A classy, wonderfully restored 1920s building. An attraction on itself.
Excellent choice at breakfast, all good produce and eggs well prepared fresh from kitchen. Beautifully located breakfast room.
We were staying during January and bad weather. The bar and terrace at the top of the hotel were closed. The hotel did not have an intimate or dedicated Bar which we missed. Drinks were served in the large lounge which whilst impressive was impersonal and lacked atmosphere.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The Christmas decorations were brilliant. The Christmas Eve event was brilliant. Rooms were the cheapest ones so were not particularly large but had a great bathroom and all facilities needed.
The price for parking was 25€ per night. The main restaurant where we ate on Christmas Day was disappointing, service and actual food.
Service was excellent.
Spa treatments were expensive.
Our room was spacious and very cozy. We requested a quiet room and we were given one. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. The wellness was very relaxing. The diner in the restaurant was great with very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is beautifully decorated the entrance is so grand with beautiful flower displays. The staff were so helpful and friendly we even had a glass of cava on arrival. We had the 90 minute spa session which was fab. Amazing hotel and facilities.
Nothing
The location, the view, the rooms, the staff, the service, the lobby and the food
Beautiful building and gardens
Sea view rooms not worth the money. We paid €430 for 1 night stay with a garden view and were offered a sea view at an extra €130 euro. Making the total for 1 night nearly €600 euro! Our friends had booked a sea view room at €470 euro for the same night and ended up overlooking a very busy noisy road and the decor of the room was not as impressive as our quiet garden view room. We would definitely recommend saving yourself the sea view noisy room surcharge. The sea view is also overlooking a bland seascape. The receptionist who checked us in was a little off hand after we decided not to accept the offer of the sea view. Think he must have been on a recent sales course for upgrades and add ons! Breakfast was adequate with a good cold selection and poor hot selection. Car parking an extra €25 euro a day and an extra €25 euro per person to use the spa.
Liked the location- close to town and the seafront. The staff were friendly and very accommodating- my husband and I are vegetarians and they made us suitable food. Lovely hotel. Housekeeping was excellent.
There was no iron in the room.! Would’ve liked a sea facing room which we had requested but were given a city facing room.
For the asking price, all things were right. The location is beautifully laid out. Extremely friendly and professional staff.
Organization of the New Year's Eve party. Non-existent communication, low price offer report, boredom! However, the staff was excellent.
Lovely good sized room. Breakfast selection was great. Staff were friendly and polite. The hotel grounds were beautifully maintained. Location was great. The hotel decor was gorgeous.
Was disappointed that the rooftop terrace was not open when we visited. It would be nice to use the spa at no extra cost. A kettle in the room to make tea would be useful.

Leaving
The building is a beautiful palace, the entrance hall is fantastic and it is very well located by the sea.
Very high price for a standard room which did not include access to the spa.
The room was nice and we had a partial view of the ocean. The Wifi was fast and reliable. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The staff was very friendly and very professional. The restaurant recommendations were extremely good and honest.
Our room was a connecting room. Although it was locked, we could hear almost everything from the neighbor. So that was a bit annoying. The breakfast was nice, but for the price, I would have expected more selections.
Absolutely beautiful!!!
Faultless
Beautiful reception area!
The room had some silly light with a motion sensor in the corridor between the bedroom and bathroom. Worst idea ever! It was super annoying especially at night!
A fabulous , luxurious hotel in a great location !
Absolutely nothing .
Location Breakfast
Beautiful building in immaculate condition
Breakfast buffet was great regarding quality of food , staff , cleanness and number of tables
Amazing buffet breakfast. Clean and high standard. Good sized rooms with stylish decor throughout the entire hotel. The lights automatically turned on as you walked close to them through the halls.
A few surrounding buildings where a little ugly and dirty. The pool was not a heated pool during winter. The roof top terrace is closed during winter.
Everyone working here are attentive and polite. This is our second visit and we will return.
There is a warm welcoming feel to the hotel created by friendly helpful staff. The hotel is spotlessly clean. The restaurant for breakfast is exceptional. A wide choice of food and attentive staff.
Nothing to be disappointed with
Almost everything possible
Wi-fi connection was not available on our Last day
Almost everything possible
Wi-fi connection was not available on our Last day
It was in a great location. The room was very clean and big.
Its on a main road, a lot of noise. The staff wasn't too friendly. The shower tap was half broken, dripping so the water barely came out strong enough to shower. Not worth the 400€ per night!!!
The hall is just amazing...
The surrounding garden too.
Excellent in every respect. Expensive.
The hotel breaths 5 stars all over! Staff was very welcoming and professional. The hall is stunning and overall the hotel is breathtaking. Especially at night!
The Spa should be open until at least 10, now we arrived at 7pm and we were told it closed at 8 pm plus there was a cost of €25 a person which I think is not good if you pay almost €500 a night

Leaving
Central, beautiful, tidy, pleasant and willing staff. Attention to details. Excellent breakfast
Really fine hotel. Superb.
The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The hotel and room were beautifully decorated and very clean. Beautiful views - sea, entrance, reception, lobby, terraces, gardens, ponds, swimming pools, entrances for walking and cars. Very good location Very good valet parking service
Even the room in the back was supposed to be quiet, there was continuous sound of a fan or engine most of the night. The room and bathroom were relatively large, but there were missing furniture, like a table or a chair in the bathroom for a newspaper or IPad. The bidet was separate unit from the toilet seat, impractical. There were two bins for smokers on each side of the entrance steps causing passive smoking hazard for non-smokers waiting for their cars or a taxi. The food that was supposed to be hot was warm or cold, even the tea and coffee were not hot enough. There was scrambled egg and baked beans were little warm, no fried egg, no omelette, no cucumber, lettuce. The boiled egg was placed on a separate table. Cava and water were hidden somewhere. Bacon was tasty, but hard and little warm. It would be helpful if there were more signs to and from the lobby and to the terraces. It would be helpful if there were more road signs pointing to the hotel location.
