Pros: The location was quirky but just what we wanted. Old narrow cobbled streets, interesting houses , the view from the 3rd floor terrace was wonderful and that from the street facing terrace bar/.dining lively and interesting. The castello a short walk and transport nearby was tram or bus not to mention the tuktuks. Taxis were also prevalent. Breakfast was good. Other meals acceptable but not brilliant. Staff were very helpful and we even met the owner, something you don't often have the pleasure of in hotels.

Pros: We chose this hotel for our honeymoon and we do not regret it one bit! The location and very attentive staff of the hotel made this experience an unforgettable one We were surprised by a cake - a very delicious one from the delightful restaurant and bakery at the hotel called Audrey’s- from the staff which we could not get over how heavenly it tasted, when we asked where they got the cake from they sent us another one to the room on the house! The room was always kept neat and clean, the receptionists were always happy to help and guide us around the city. Thank you Santiago De alfama hotel for the remarkable experience

Pros: It was a beautiful hotel in a great location
Cons: We did not get the room as described. We selected a more expensive room because it had city views. Our room did not have any view at all and the hotel did not take responsibility for this
9.0 Excellent
Pros: We found this to be a clean and modern hotel with very warm and helpful staff.
Cons: People traveling with a lot of luggage might find the room (ours was the standard double with river view) to be much more cramped than the sq footage implies due to the layout of the bathroom.

Pros: Good room, nice pool, good staff. Pool staff Sarah, and Raphael in the lobby were particularly helpful and pleasant and knowledgeable.
Cons: No problems, an overall great stay. Didn't sleep well on our last night due to noise from party of 200 business conference guests. An observation though; Pool staff are understandably not allowed to wear sunglasses, but it is glaringly hot and bright on the roof. Suggestion: offer them the use of a sun visor (health and safety/ humanitarian reasons.

Pros: My husband and I stayed here on the last day of our honeymoon and it was lovely. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but by no means cramped and very clean, done in a beautiful light blue, light green, and white palette. The lobby is spacious with lovely green tile. The staff was very friendly and helped suggest an affordable local restaurant nearby, which was delicious. We didn't have a chance to go in the pool, but the staff let us in to look at it after it had closed, which was very nice. It looked very lovely as well. We didn't have a lot of money to spend and found a great deal and were treated very well by the staff.

Cons: Although I checked in on line a day before arrival, our room was not ready. When they gave us a key, someone was in the room.
Finally when we finally got in the room, it was not the twin beds I had requested.
The last full day we were there, we came back to find a key in the electric switch.
This hotel is very careless about keys.
Prices for breakfast in the hotel were ridiculous.

Cons: The view on our room (one of the cheapest ones) did not have a good view, but I guess that is to be expected (it looked out over some flat rooftops with astroturf). One small thing, when we went out during the day my husband was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans and one the doormen sort of implied that he was looking for the wrong building, but it wasn't overtly rude, he just tried to stop him and ask if he could help direct him before he went in the door.

Pros:
Cons: When we (group of six people) book with paid in full and check in to hotel, we DID NOT know that we have to pay the taxes 2 euros per day and the person help to check in did not mention that either.
After we signed our name on the card which we DID NOT see the taxes 2 euros per day on the card, but when we check out someone put that taxes 2 euros per day on the card afterward. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS THE MATTER OF PRINCIPLE.
They can put any amount on the card after we signed.
We REFUSED to pay the taxes. I hope that the hotel do not charge us.

Pros: Almost nothing.
Cons: the bedroom had a balcony. The balcony door was broken so air from outside leaked in. The room was freezing all night.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Clean and location
Cons: Staff is ok, but the so called lady executive mgr was not friendly and not try to solve problems. She did not try to make a six dollar error on a 3 nite stay. She said that mistake had to make by their executive DIRECTOR . That six dollar had to charge when we check out( they did not tell us when we checked in. And our was a PREPAID stay).
The washing sink basin was made of kind of soft pastic( in a 4, 5 star hotel ??).

Pros: It is in an excellent and quiet location. Staff are very helpful and kind.
Cons: There is no proper light in the room. All small task lighting. Only bright light comes from the bathroom which is like a fish ball with glass walls. One curtain creates privacy but does not stop the light coming into the room. If you go to the bathroom at night, you cannot turn the light on if you worried about waking your partner up.

Pros: Every one of the staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful.
Cons: The air conditioning did not cool the room properly. Reported this and they did respond quickly and sent someone to fix. Still too warm though and we could not leave the terrace door open for cool air due to construction next door.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location and bedding was very comfortable
Cons: Service was average. No one to help with luggage and quality of service of reception staff varied too much: from very nice and knowledgeable to not very nice and unwelcoming.
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent and friendly staff. Nice sized indoor pool. Healthy but doable walk to scenic areas and metro.
Cons: Has the "modern" room set up with a glass door bathroom, so the other person is disturbed by the light shining through. Beware that you will be charged 2.5 euros for each coffee pod beyond the two offered! Gym is small but workable.

Pros: This is a very nice hotel, clean and comfortable. The staff js very helpful, the breakfast is great, and the facilities are wonderful. We loved the pool and saunas! Would definitely recommend and we would like to return here next time we’re in Lisbon.
Cons: The fire alarm went off in the afternoon, when we were taking a nap. It is still unclear what happened and nobody really communicated this. Early checkin was not possible, but we received a later checkout, which was great for us! There is still quite a bit of a walk to the city centre and there are not many restaurants around, but uber is very affordable and the area is still nice.

Cons: Shower would leak through the screen and make a mess of bathroom floor No iron in the room Parking spaces really tidy

Cons: Found the price for the breakfast rather expensive at €35.00 per day for x 2 pax. Ours was included in the suite but our guests who had Doubles had the option to pay. There is a perfectly good Cafè 100 yards away that did breakfasts/Pastries/goodies from €3.00 !!! Also sorry to be negative, I ordered a transfer one way from airport to hotel through the hotel which was €70.00 - and when we went back after our long weekend it was €12 in an Uber, so slightly stung. But Hey Ho, there was a Chauffeur with a nice laptop at the waiting point when we arrived off the plane. They also do a FREE shuttle if you are lucky enough to use it, sadly we were in the wrong place or wrong time, so just missed it etc, but not a big deal, nice that they offer it to be fair.

Pros:
Cons: I ended up at the Altis after a very long day of travel and a disastrous Airbnb experience left me and my friends without a place to stay. Desperate, we found the Altis on Kayak with a 5-star rating and were willing to put a little extra money in given how nice the place looked in the app. Unfortunately, this ended up being a terrible experience. The staff was extremely slow and unhelpful, making us wait a very long time to get to our rooms after a very long day. Moreover, the rooms bore absolutely no resemblance to the photos we saw on the app - they were outdated, dingy, and dirty. There were hairs in our showers, and the floors were stained. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The wifi didn't work, coming in and out every few minutes. In fact, we ended our stay early given how bad the conditions were - though it took ages to do so at reception. There is no way this hotel is 5 stars and it should not be advertised as such. Personally, I would like for the hotel to compensate me in some way for such a misleading and poor experience.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Concierge staff were terrific, location of the hotel was close enough to many sights, breakfast was amazing
Cons: Booked a superior room with courtyard view, got a small bed and not view to speak of
Other hotels we stayed in Paris or Warsaw offer complimentary water, here it’s only one time on arrival and they don’t advertise it unless you ask

Pros: We liked the location and the Staff were very helpful. The staff did everything they said they would do and we appreciated their positivity and quick response concerning the bed..
Cons: The bathroom was too small for 2 people. The mattress had to be turned or replaced( not sure which one) because it had dips on both sides.
The restaurant was over priced. The one dinner we had was very good and the presentation was beautiful, however, for 2 vodka tonics with absolute vodka cost 34 euro and the lobster salad, while beautifully presented, was 19 euro for 2 small claws and some greens.

Pros: Great location. The breakfast was plentiful and included in the price of my room. There is a large buffet and you can also order off of a menu at no extra cost. The resturant for dinner was excellent as was the food served in the bar. All staff were helpful.
Cons: Service in bar could be hard to get, sometimes waiting for 10-15 minutes to be acknowledged. I think this is due to both low staffing and lay out. If the staff doesn't look around you won't be seen due to pillars and nooks.

We would have liked to have our dinner at the hotel, but the internal restaurants (2) were completely empty and a bit .. desolated, so we had to go out for dinner. this is the only little drop I want to remark, even if this point did not affected at all our perfect staying at Dom Pedro.

Pros: Location was great Great bed, very clean.
Cons: No coffee maker!! Seriously? Huge disappointment and shock to see a four star without a coffee maker or any provision for coffee. Next time, I should bring my own may be. Sometimes, some people need to make hot water in Winters just to soothe the system. The staff that checked is in was so rude! She didn't even bother to give an overview of the city for first timers. Another staff tried to scare is about getting taxi early morning and suggested we book a taxi at night with the hotel. We found out that finding a taxi early morning wasn't a problem at all and that he would have charged double the cost of the fare just to book it. We booked using the Free Now taxi app. Great service. Room was not sound proof as noise from other parts of the hotel was getting in.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness, the room were all great.
Cons: Kayak says there’s a free airport shuttle, which is the main reason I booked this hotel. There is a shuttle, but it’s not free. It’s 13€. If it wasn’t for that, I would have nothing bad to say.
7.9 Good
Pros: Property is in a good location. Room was standard. Rooftop bar has a great view.
Cons: I tried contacting the hotel beforehand and their communication was not good. It took more than one attempt and still my questions were not answered. Room was very hot.
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was excellent and the staff were very helpful and nice. The breakfast was just ok, expecting a little bit more for the hotel.
Cons: The bathrooms need a renovation for the hotel quality, kind of old. The bedroom window was with an awfull isolation, we could hear all the sounds from outside as if it was open. The elevators were taking a lot of time to arrive.
6.5 Good
Pros: great location in city and re airport bus/metro transport
Cons: reception looks like an office with staff chatting and interrupting each other while tending to guests; facilities old (shower hot/cold spurts); no kettle in room, limited charging points; slow elevators; looks more like a hotel focused upon large tour groups than individuals.

Pros: The breakfast buffet was good. The hotel was clean and the staff were helpful and pleasant.
Cons: The room appeared smaller than what the picture seemed. I know the measurements were given, but it’s hard to visualize the dimensions given. I also don’t like the bathroom walls being glass, although a curtain was available.

Pros: Very central location!
Cons: Sadly the airco was already switched to hot air which made it way too hot too sleep at night

Pros: The location is very good.
Cons: When someone is using the shower at another room we can hear it at our's room very loudly.

Cons: Would have really loved to get refill of tea bags !

Pros: Excellent location and very friendly staff. Room as clean and nicely decorated despite the size
Cons: Tiny room without a proper bathroom division (glass with curtain); Air conditioning didn't work (room was a like a little sauna) and we were then informed that this time of the year regardless of the airco settings we would choose, only hot hair was blown by the system

Pros: Easy to find on a main road into Lisbon, very close to Intendente metro station. There is a shared kitchen on the 2nd and 3rd floor, fairly well equipped. It is a typical hostel so no frills or fripperies, but the beds were comfortable enough and we weren't cold. Very easy to walk into the old city and all the sights.

Cons: Somewhere to sit and eat your meal if you don't want to eat in your bedroom. Floors a bit mank, so bring your slippers.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Close to a subway station, relatively central location.
Cons: No hot water for the entire week. No compensation offered, nothing, not even a good explanation for what happened and when would be fixed. When asked for an invoice for my company, I received a wrong total in EUR, with a wrong card number used for the payment, took them few days to issue that. I replied that those details were wrong, asked for a new correct invoice to be issued. Never heard from the property again.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location is pretty good. Close to the castle. The staff speaks good English.
Cons: I can only speak for the room for 3. It is huge but very poor equipped. We had big problem with the lack of sockets. No lighting in most part of the room. Portugal does not have heating system. For such a big room we only had a tiny heater which did not do much. All the requests are all politely rejected. The room smells funky, so are the duvets. We saw an insect running from toilet to living room in the last day of stay.
7.5 Good
Pros: Quartier is very good for go out .
Cons: More decorations is very appreciated. We think it is not warmly like our house.
