Location , Cleanliness Staff is not very friendly, cleaners does not understand the signal does not disturband and unfortunately there is a building constructions a at the back of the hotel and the noise is unbearable it does last all day including Saturdays , According to the staff it does not belong to the hotel therefore they refused to relocate guest accommodation...
nothing breakfast was terrible hotel has no caracther and is cold.
The hotel was lovely and the concierge,Rachel, was wonderful She helped us put together a private tour with a driver, Abel. He showed us Sintra as well as many important sites in Lisbon. She also helped us with all of our questions and seemed really interesed in us. The hotel itself is quite lovely and the view from the 9th floor is amazing Our price, thanks you, was wonderful. Although I checked in on line a day before arrival, our room was not ready. When they gave us a key, someone was in the room. Finally when we finally got in the room, it was not the twin beds I had requested. The last full day we were there, we came back to find a key in the electric switch. This hotel is very careless about keys. Prices for breakfast in the hotel were ridiculous.
Exceptionally helpful staff. When a family room is listed as two "adjoining" rooms, they should actually be connected. We have young children and cannot put them in a room by themselves. Fortunately the staff were wonderful and got us in a different room where the children could actually reach us if needed.
This was a comfortable and friendly hotel. Ideal for exploring Lisbon, although we had a good room rate all extras were quite expensive for a family budget. Pool lovely but not very big. More for adults than kids.
When we (group of six people) book with paid in full and check in to hotel, we DID NOT know that we have to pay the taxes 2 euros per day and the person help to check in did not mention that either. After we signed our name on the card which we DID NOT see the taxes 2 euros per day on the card, but when we check out someone put that taxes 2 euros per day on the card afterward. THAT IS NOT RIGHT. IT IS THE MATTER OF PRINCIPLE. They can put any amount on the card after we signed. We REFUSED to pay the taxes. I hope that the hotel do not charge us.
Atmosphere of the hotel being repeatedly asked for my room number at breakfast for no apparent reason
My husband and I stayed here on the last day of our honeymoon and it was lovely. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but by no means cramped and very clean, done in a beautiful light blue, light green, and white palette. The lobby is spacious with lovely green tile. The staff was very friendly and helped suggest an affordable local restaurant nearby, which was delicious. We didn't have a chance to go in the pool, but the staff let us in to look at it after it had closed, which was very nice. It looked very lovely as well. We didn't have a lot of money to spend and found a great deal and were treated very well by the staff. The view on our room (one of the cheapest ones) did not have a good view, but I guess that is to be expected (it looked out over some flat rooftops with astroturf). One small thing, when we went out during the day my husband was dressed in a t-shirt and jeans and one the doormen sort of implied that he was looking for the wrong building, but it wasn't overtly rude, he just tried to stop him and ask if he could help direct him before he went in the door.
Clean and location Staff is ok, but the so called lady executive mgr was not friendly and not try to solve problems. She did not try to make a six dollar error on a 3 nite stay. She said that mistake had to make by their executive DIRECTOR . That six dollar had to charge when we check out( they did not tell us when we checked in. And our was a PREPAID stay). The washing sink basin was made of kind of soft pastic( in a 4, 5 star hotel ??).
The hotel location is fantastic. You can walk almost anywhere in the city and there is easy access to public transportation. The buffet breakfast was exceptional. This hotel is a five star rated hotel but the service falls short of 5 star. Check in and check out took a very long time and the staff seemed to be a little stressed. Perhaps they were short handed.
Central location , close to public transport/restaurants etc. were able to accommodate a family of four , well presented hotel and staff , good room service , There are only two things that were not good , the bed was hard and the pillows flat , and the front desk needs to have a little more info on day trips outside lisbon - out to the coast - surfing - sailing .
Perfect location, excellent cusine. Excellent service
Nice personnel, good location and great bed Noisy room due to some motor or airconditining compresor above our room. Never choose room 725.
Great value for money,as it is newly opened we got a great rate, good location, very modern and clean. The best pillows I have ever slept on
The staff was amazing! They were very friendly, spoke English very well, and would do anything to help you. The only thing I didn't like was the opaque glass door opening to the bed; not as much privacy, and the light would shine right on the bed.
* the staff , the location, the service and its comfortable. nothing
-good internet connection -excellent bed and pillows -location is nice -the breakfast workers are very helpful and friendly -fast checkin/checkout -this is not a 5 stars but a 4 stars hotel with good quality -the breakfast is fine but not much options -my room had only a small window (8th floor)
spacious room, very comfortable bed, very quiet --> modern room, excellent for a city break shower didn't meet 5* standards --> low water pressure
very helpful staff, very convienient location
Hotel was no more than 15 walking minutes from where all the restaurants and bars were located. There were even great options a block away.
Friendly staff, convenience and proximity to town centre, free internet. Smelling towels on two days.
Service, room quality, location. Room and work area lighting very poor
excellent and formidable, friendly staff, spotless clean rooms, excellent location and facilities none
The food is good. The free internet is a sham, the coverage is too week. disconnects every 3 minutes at best.
Information and booking assistance service, swimming pool, facilities in general Room service, No view from the room which was dark
I ended up at the Altis after a very long day of travel and a disastrous Airbnb experience left me and my friends without a place to stay. Desperate, we found the Altis on Kayak with a 5-star rating and were willing to put a little extra money in given how nice the place looked in the app. Unfortunately, this ended up being a terrible experience. The staff was extremely slow and unhelpful, making us wait a very long time to get to our rooms after a very long day. Moreover, the rooms bore absolutely no resemblance to the photos we saw on the app - they were outdated, dingy, and dirty. There were hairs in our showers, and the floors were stained. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The wifi didn't work, coming in and out every few minutes. In fact, we ended our stay early given how bad the conditions were - though it took ages to do so at reception. There is no way this hotel is 5 stars and it should not be advertised as such. Personally, I would like for the hotel to compensate me in some way for such a misleading and poor experience.
The best was location of the hotel. I liked buzness center of the hotel as well I think it is not 5 star
good location and nice service
the hotel equipement is quite old.
It is a fifne Hotel, we liked almost everything, but especially the kindness of the employees We have been ignored at the D. Fernando restaurant. I wonder if it has been due to a football game with Benfica. We dicided not to go there anymore
place of hotel was very good may be triple room could be better
The personnel was friendly. I could have a late check-out. The location of the hotel is good, not far from subway, and actually not far from the center.
its not worth 5 stars
Very nice hotel in an excellent location
The Hotel was in a very convenient position for our 3 day sight seeing tour of Lisbon and the indoor swimming pool was of good size and warm The main dining room was closed and you only had the choice of the expensive roof top one or the coffee bar, although this was better than expected
Overall great hotel Non smoking room smelled like cigarettes
The room and the bed was very comfortable. Good location, walking distance to most sights and shopping/restaurants.
the location of the hotel and quality of its staff and facilities were ideal for our city break
We liked the location and the Staff were very helpful. The staff did everything they said they would do and we appreciated their positivity and quick response concerning the bed.. The bathroom was too small for 2 people. The mattress had to be turned or replaced( not sure which one) because it had dips on both sides. The restaurant was over priced. The one dinner we had was very good and the presentation was beautiful, however, for 2 vodka tonics with absolute vodka cost 34 euro and the lobster salad, while beautifully presented, was 19 euro for 2 small claws and some greens.
location small room
The location is perfect. The rooms are small though i have booked a superior double room.
Staff was very efficient and Jose, at check-in desk was extremely helpful. I would recommend the hotel to our friends and when I return will book there. Quiet and very relaxing. His recommendations for dining, which we followed, showed me that he listened to what we liked and the recommendation was exactly as we expected. I did not read guest reviews so I cannot comment on that question
Wonderful hotel! everyone was so friendly and the room was a good size. The front desk was so helpful with anything that you needed. Also, it was right in front of the Agenda train station, making it super convenient to come and go to the airport but I didn't even use the train station to travel around downtown Lisbon or Alfama as everything was within walking distance!
The staff was excellent, curteous and attentive. The hotel was clean and the room was frequently serviced. The room had a lovely terrace. We received a courtesy champagne for my wife's birthday - nice surprise. The room, although called luxury was rather adequate in size and in an unusual shape. The TV (both quality and content) needs upgrading.
Really liked the fact they had king size beds. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
The location is great and the staff were very helpful and always friendly.
Great location, close walking to pedestrian mall. Clean hotel and friendly staff.
Every one of the staff were very professional, friendly, and helpful. The air conditioning did not cool the room properly. Reported this and they did respond quickly and sent someone to fix. Still too warm though and we could not leave the terrace door open for cool air due to construction next door.
very clean as it seems to be refurbished recently. the staffs were also very friendly and always smiling. probably the indoor swimming pool is too small and difficulty to say a swimming pool.
clean room, friendly staff! no iron or ironing board available when the guest manual clearly states one can be provided.
Modern hotel , nice spa area Not very clean ; small rooms different from the pictures on site, the bathroom is practically in the room
Very comfortable rooms, good location. At 99 eur per night, it was a value... with some caveats (below). When I arrived at 7pm and asked for an iron, I was told that they don't have any irons and the laundry was closed. I had a 9am meeting, and the laundry didn't open till 9am, so I wore a severely wrinkled shirt for the whole day. When I left two other shirts for the laundry in the morning, and asked to have them that night (because again, I had a meeting before the laundry opened) I was charged the express fee - and they ironing job was poor. I hate to complain about such a thing, but I was baffled that a "five star" hotel didn't have such amenities. I was equally disappointed by their fitness room, and the slow internet. As it stands, this is not a great hotel for business travel.
as mentioned above, the staff was excellent. especially the bartender/waiter in the restaurant was outstanding noise from the room above
excelent by all means no
The location and the standard.
The staff addressed us by name, knew what we preferred for breakfast by the second day, and were accommodating with each request. No dislikes
Extremely pleasant and helpful staff. Wonderful location. Great breakfast included in the price.
Design aesthetic and comfort of rooms - nice attention to detail. Helpful staff and great location. Had to pay for parking.
Staff were excellent and very helpful. They provided us with some great tips on where (and where not) to drive, see and visit
location price( very expensive ! it is butique hotel but not delux hotel )
Comfortable trendy boutique hotel with friendly helpful staff. Great location and great roof-top terrace bar. Quite expensive given the fairly small size of room.
We loved the Terrace for late night snack and drinks
The location of the hotel is excellent: within easy walking distance of a number of "sites"; shopping; and some of the best new restaurants. The roof top deck has wonderful views over the river. Our request for a quiet room was honored. The young staff tries hard, but often just did not seem to really know how to provide service. Our wake up call for 6 am on the morning of our international flight never came.....It was a struggle to obtain a dinner reservation in the hotel's restaurant...there seemed to be no accomodation for hotel guests.
Hotel location, room comfort and cleanliness, excellent service, effectiveness of the staff. N.A.
Efficient, friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Room clean, well-appointed, comfortable.
We found a very professional staff who were courteous and friendly. We arrived early after an overnight train journey & this was graciously accommodated. Front desk staff were helpful with recommendations for sightseeing. The location is excellent for the central city with a pleasant walk to major attractions. The view from our front room overlooking the autumn colour of the Avenida da Liberdade was lovely.
Very well located for walking down town, public transit, tours, etc. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Rooms clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast.
The staff was very helpful nad very nice. The rooms are clean, nice, and tastefully furnished. The location in the very center of Lisbon is definitely a olus.
Location Room decoration, breakfest
The staff were pleasant and helpful the bed for a couple, should be only one large bed, not two double beds.
Hotel had a very good restaurant. Staff were all very helpful.
Very friendly and helpful staff with excellent English spoken which we appreciated. Pleasant facilities in general with nice dining area and very acceptable food. Rooms tidy and clean. Hotel just within walking distance of town with fair choice of good restaurants nearby. Metro, buses and taxis all on hand. An all-round good value hotel.
Great location, proper rooms, splendid services...and the silence with the double windows is worth a stay by itself. The breakfast gets common after a couple of days as it never changes. But still good food nevertheless.
The staff were polite and friendly, the breakfast was excellent, food in the restaurent also good
Location and hotel staff AC in the room didn't work well, breakfast had a weak selection
excellent location and very friendly and helpful staff a bit noisy cleaning ladies in the morning, but that is a minor issue
The friendliness of the staff, nothing was a bother to them. Breakfast was nice. I would have liked if there had been a restaurant in which to eat on one of our nights at the hotel.
very clean, centrally located, very helpful staff, good breakfast no
The knowlegable and helpful staff was invaluable in helping us choose restaurants, tours, etc. The beds are too small and are hard and uncomfortable for American tastes (but these appear to be the norm in Portugal)
We stay there frequently and we have always enjoyed our stay in comfort and with very friendly, professional and able staff. A second free internet access point. The one in the public part of the hotel was in constant use during the evening and next morning of our stay and I was unable to access my e mails. While this was not a problem, if might have been for some guests.
I like best the location and confort.
Central location From reviews expected a small hotel, was bigger therefore busier than had expected. Also stayed at sister hotel Britannia, which I would highly recommend
Staff very friendly and efficient, especially the conscierge.room nice .relaxed and homely No bacon,eggs,black/white pud!!??No toaster11//?hAD to track down a waitress to make me a slice of toast and she dissappeared for 15 minutes!!
approximity to shopping areas. Small room and bathroom. Very high rate for a room without breakfast.
The breakfast was excellent. Served in comfortable surrounds with a very good range of food and good service. The room we were allotted was a little small but relatively comfortable. In this regard we are completely ignoring the bathroom. The bath was blocked and we requested that this be un-blocked and cleaned 3 times. My wife then discovered dried blood spattered on the bathroom floor. As it was a marble floor the blood was difficult to see, but rubbing with a tissue soon exposed the problem. It was quite obvious that the floor had not been washed and cleaned thoroughly. After a bitter complaint to the service desk on our last night we were given another room. The Manager was not available to talk to us as it was the weekend!!
The location and rooms were excellent. The staff weer very pleasant and helpful. the breakfast was superb. We will definitely go again
great room - both elegant and clean; very nice breakfast; convenient location (taxis being very cheap in Lisbon); interesting history; professional staff there were loud building works outside, starting at 8.30am, but that can't really be helped...
The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was extremely comfortable The dinner was disappointing. The selection on the menu was not particularly exciting and the waiters were very distant.
The hotel is modern and tastefully decorated. The staff is very helpful and welcoming and upgraded us to a suite with no extra charge. The hotel is 10 - 15 mins walk from the historical centre; Breakfast was also very good.
Centrally located and rooms of a high quality. Good prices in bar and friendly affable staff.
This place is awesome. The rooms are modest and charming. The people working there were super friendly and helpful for recommendations (special thanks to Claudia and Paolo). Location is extremely convenient. Nice and quiet but very close to all the action. Definitely hope to come back soon! Honestly, loved it all.
This place was incredible. The design was absolutely beautiful -- very industrial charming looking--similar to Anthropologie. The staff were amazing--very helpful with luggage storage, recommendations, and directions. The breakfast was plentiful--overall a wonderful experience. None.
Really, really loved the stay here. Want to go back. Probably cannot recommend it enough. For starters, the location is great. Lisbon does not really have a compact, well-defined city center (it’s a bit spread out), but Hall Chiado is right in the heart of the city nonetheless with a nice view of the river from the hotel balconies. The neighborhood it is in (Chiado) is also quite trendy now with tons of great restaurants & bars nearby. Recommend you try the gazpacho from Meson Anduluz (Spanish restaurant just around the corner). Also have a look at the many options in Mercado da Ribeira down the road (go for lunch; dinner can be very crowded and hard to find a seat). As far as the rooms, they are quite lovely with a simple, but stylish décor. I personally would have elected to put a few more photographs or paintings on the walls in the rooms, but this is just a matter of personal taste. In either case, the rooms are great. Not huge, but very comfortable, feeling a bit like being a guest at a friend’s home. It is also very quiet. The street the hotel is located on is quite busy with people, cars, buses and trams, but we never once had a problem with the noise in the rooms (even with the Portuguese love of honking in traffic). With the balcony doors shut, it seemed nearly sound-proof. Like the rooms, the bathroom was very nice and looked relatively new. As far as the lobby of the hotel, it is really more just the stairwell to the building (similar to the entrance to a residential apartment building). As you enter, you have the stairs in front of you with some shelves off to the side with books you can borrow (thought this was a nice touch). There are a few chairs off to the other side and a small room on the left with lockers for your luggage after check-out. Just to your right there is a medium sized office for the hotel itself. The helpful two ladies that own/run the place are there during the day, but the office is closed in the evening. In fact, the hotel does not even have a formal check-in/out process. A day or so before your arrival, the ladies will email you a 4-digit pin. You use this on the keypad outside the building and at your room to get in. I quite liked this. It was great arriving at 11:00 PM and just being able to go straight up to the room with no fuss. It also made check-out a breeze as well. The internet was very good. Was consistently getting ~25 Mbps up & down. It was summer when we were here and the A/C worked quite well. There was a small room safe, but no mini-fridge. If in Lisbon again, will definitely stay here again without a doubt (and look forward to it).
