- very nice and comfortable hotel - a minute walk from subway - most of the staff is very friendly and helpful - some of the older personnel is a bit arrogant. - ridiculously expensive Internet
Location No restaurant for dinner, and no late check-out
Clean, courteous staff, nice location The room was very small, the room temperature was not adjustable so it was very hot
I got particularly fine service from the people on the front desk
Friendly and service-minded personel, and good beds
nice hotel close to the metro and to the university
the bed spread was smelly, basic enough room for the price.
Staff were extremely helpful and friendly
Hotel has quite good location, it is easy to get to the central. (using the underground system). (And at the same time) it is located in peaceful area.
Very close to metro station. Too hot inside room, and impossible to adjust airconditioner. to solve the probelm, i had to open the window in the night.
Comfortable free parking for guests, good location, pleasant view: Monjuik mountain, english-speaking and polite staff not applicable
Well positioned for Palau Sant Jordi. Shopping Centre very close. Metro 10 to 15 minutes walk depending on an individuals fitness. Not much to offer for breakfast, only basic continental. No free coffee as in uk lodges. However in the area of the shopping centre there some decent coffee bars and restuarants.
receptionist very helpful lack of toiletries in room
To help us to find out the next hotel as we do not like this hotel. Hotel has no luggage storage service, very inconveninent for traveller with lagugage. Internet access is expensive.
it was at the exact location where I wanted there is no proper mode of transfortation for the hotel except taxi. one has to change atleast twice to reach the hotel. That was a big issue for a custermer like me who dosent understands Spanish.
No clock in room. We needed to catch an early flight and had to use a flashlight to check our watch every so often. Shower did not work due to a broken valve. Did not realize this until trying to use it at 4:00 AM.
For the money, it is an excellent choice in Barcelona.
Best value for money a good deal A good deal
Clean, comfortable. Very difficult to locate. Didn't realize that this was not part of same Travelodge as in US. Chose it to qualify for points/miles.
Self service breakfast, garage space. Not that we didn't like, just that in your advertising it is not made clear that you only supply breakfasts & no other meals.
We had been in Europe for three weeks and this was our last Hotel we stayed in. They had the biggest bath room, shower and really nice bath towels. I would have given them an excellent rating on value but our bill/statement did not have our final amount! So i know this is strange not to know how much you paid. We had prepaid via internet and when the clerk checked us in the amount was lower than what the prepaid amount was, either amount was a value.
Barcelona Urbany Hostel is very nice place to stay, it has good location, close to the Clot metro, and it's just 1 stop away from Arca de triomf, olso it's just 10-15 min walk to Sagrada de Familia. The gym, swimming pool and Sauna helped us relax after long day of walking and sightseeing. Breakfast was nice, and from terrace at canteen is perfect view to Torre Agbar. we raelly enjoyed it!
It's a great place to stay for young people. It's clean, modern style furnished, friendly and fun. At the same time there is enough of privacy because floors with the rooms are separate from the floors with bar, reception or kitchen. There are free really safe lockers in the room. The breakfast is pretty good. And I liked the people there. The citi centre is about 30 min walking or 8 min by metro. And I had a great view to the torre from my window. So it's a place to come definitly! You need to take your iron with you couse there is only one there and may be you will not be the first in the morning=)
the rooms were very clean and tidy. air con was great too, as the temp at night can be hard to sleep in but for the 5 days i stayed i slept great! staff were very helpful and answered all questions the best they could. the kitchen was great to perpare your own food to keep the cost of ur hoilday down. def a very good hostle :) i stayed in 2 different rooms at my time in the hostle and the locks on both the bathroom doors were broke.
kitchen dirty, flea in our first room, at the reception they don't know anything about the city and about the hotel! the gym is well equipped, it's a club outside
The hostel is at a good location, convenient to take trains. But I wasn't like the reception girl. She was cold and rude to me. My room was directly face to elevator. During the night, it was so noisy with the Ding Dong sound of elevator and people's voice, laughing, talking. I couldn't fall into sleep until 2 or 3 am. If you want to stay, try ask for one room which isn't directly fact to elevator.
In-room security was excellent, as was the rooftop bar The 4-bed dorm room was very cramped compared to other hostels.
We enjoyed the international atmosphere of young people and the pleasent staff in the bar and in the reception. Not the hotel as such, but it really annoys me when some spoilt brats from "over there" think they can occupy the Internet terminals on the 3rd floor for hours on end when there are people waiting.
Super Clean facilities... very close to the Sagrada Familia Church. The lockers are pretty big, that even your carry-on size bags can easily fit in them. Free Breakfast and prices at the bar are very reasonable too!
i really liked the location of the hostel because there was a metro and a tram station nearby and that was really helpful for me. i didn't like very much the breakfast.
The room did't clean and have not sufficient light in bathroom. Laggage locker cannot real use, need to improve.
Everything was just as promised and expected when booked. Sunotel Aston was a professionaly run and reliable hotel. It wuold be nice if the swimmingpool had also been open after 5 pm
The friendliness and customer centred service plus the good clean facilities.
A female member of staff was extremely rude and more interested in reading the paper than providing assistance.
good price with decent room, free wifi small tv; expensive breakfast; expensive parking
location of the hotel and cleanliness The room was freezing cold and the staff said that nothing could be done about it.
Clean and good for the subway My room on the front of the hotel was noisy from the traffic. Although it had double glazing it didn't deaden the sound.
L liked the warmth/friendliness of all the Hotel Staff, the Breakfast room staff were especially welcoming, as were the Cleaners, nothing was too much trouble.... Difficult really, if anything maybe the Trips advertised for Tourists l think it would help if they were in English, which is a language that most people can speak/understand.
The breakfast was good, it had sufficient variaty. Room TV were really small and old.
Very friendly staff; Good location; Small rooms;
The hotel was very good value for money and all the staff were very helpful The air conditioning in the room was inadequate which meant that the room was very hot even in March. Also the noise from the traffic was very noisy at all times of the day and night which made it difficult to sleep. This was explained when we booked in but not the extent of the noise which would have persuaded us to take rooms at the back of the hotel instead of the front.
It was centrally located and the room had been recently renovated. It had good catering facilities within the room. The room was too small to be comfortable, especially the bathroom which was minute.
Very handy location and extremely helpful staff
IT was near the train station. Liked having the kitchenette. The staff were lovely. Room was comfortable. didn't like the cold floor but that's normal in a warm country!
The staff really went out of their way to help in every way. Nothing
The renovated rooms were excellent. The staff were excellent - always friendly and ready to help. The location was fantastic - near great shopping, restaurants and local sights - not touristy. The beds were a little hard and the pillows were not standard shape and too soft, they could have been more comfortable. Also as a couple staying we would have like the two single beds made up as a double... There was also a bit of noise through the bathroom from the neighbouring room, it didn't disrupt us - we just noticed it a few times.
The reception staff were friendly. The room our floor was on was non-smoking. The proximity to the metro station, very convenient. Kitchen-cupboard was great, as you could store food in the fridge. The walls seemed to be a bit on the thin side, and you could hear furniture being moved around upstairs. The breakfast was expensive, since we have a light breakfast.
The location was close to the main tourist attractions, yet in a quiet area. It was very good value for money, very clean, and staff were most helpful. The bathroom and bed were a little on the small side for us. The kitchenette was very basic.
the nice hotel staff , the access to the internet
Basic and clean hotel. In a safe location. The view from the room was not very pleasant.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room we had was basic but very comfortable and clean. A great hotel to explore barcelona.
Excellent staff service!
clean & good service nothing at all to complain about
Room excellent - very clean and nice big bed. Reception staff and breafast staff very helpfull Bar / lounge service very poor. No tea/coffee facilities in room
Room is very clean and the bed is comfortable. Some of the older front desk staff are not very friendly and they downgraded my room to one without an exterior window.
The room was excellent!!!!it was very spacy kai it was a very nice surprise that the hotel manager welcomed us with champaign kai fruit!!!!! In few words, everything was exactly what we asked for!!!thanks for the excellent hospitality and for making our honeymoon even greater!!!!!!
hotel is well located, close to central zone. street noise is moderate. wi-fi works good most of the time, speed is not high though. room a bit small, bath pergect, modern and wel equipped. good tv with large selection of channels. you can only have few dishes in the hotel restaurant/buffet.
Hotel was very clean with friendly helpful staff. We enjoyed breakfast each morning. The beds were very comfortable as well A bit of a walk to sights or metro but not too far
Best breakfast of the 7 hotels we stayed at during out trip. Great location. Room was of average size for Spain / France. Staff was very helpfull - they printed my airline boarding pass since I did not have a printer. The Wi-Fi was useless in our room during late afternoon & evening. Had to go down to the lobby to use it.
nice rooms no coffee making facilities
Reception staff very helpful, also the female on duty in the bar on the Monday was friendly, helpful and a credit to the hotel. The bar man on the Tuesday and Wednesday was not happy to serve us on our return to the hotel in the evening on the Tuesday and was miserable, consequently when we saw he was on duty on the Wednesday we did not return.
Airport bus shuttle was not free.
Good quality/price ratio, friendly welcome and very well located (near Passeig del Gracia subway station, 10min walk from Catalunya). Sheets and towels are all provided if you book through booking.com (maybe not the case if you book directly to the hostel?). Lockers available in each room. But bring your own lock. The hostel was not aware that the room had been pre-paid on booking.com. Had to make them call booking.com for confirmation. This information should be correctly passed on to the hotel at the time of payment!
Good location near city center We stayed in a double bed room with shower; we payed hotel price for youth hostel standard; we had a room with no daylight; there was an extra charge for sheets/blankets and another for payment with credit card; other (young) guests were very noisy at night time
location is very good. Kind of noisy, becos young guys came back very late. But it's burget travelling for me.The other thing is u have to rent blanket, towels.
I have stayed at the Centric Point several times, and each time have been impressed by the friendliness, the cleanliness and basic good value. The location is terrific, too- just "up-town" enough to avoid noise and smell but within easy walking distance of everything you'd want to see. And it couldn't be more convenient for the metro to the airport or anywhere else you want to get to further afield.
Near to the City Centre and metro/train station exact on a few steps. I was at Catalunya circuit and transportation is on first place. Exellent conditions. Polite staff.
I like that it's very centrally located. It's right on Passeig de Gracia, very close to some of Gaudi's best-known architectural works, and surrounded by some of the finest in dining, shopping, and sightseeing. Located in a very high-profile part of town, close to the heart of vibrant Barcelona! The beds could have been better. I was always assigned the top bunk beds - which I didn't mind - but it was really awkward climbing these beds. There was hardly any space between the beds, and so it was difficult (nearly impossible!) to use the ladder. I suggest leaving enough space between the beds so that we could actually use the ladder when climbing the top bunk. This would be much safer for us too. ...Also, I hate to say this, but there's plenty of room for improvement in their customer service. Some of them could use a full semester in charm school. ;-)
Location was just great, staff good, clean place, great athmosphere, would go back again! Wi-Fi should be in every floor, its not too expensive i think to do an installation and make it available for clients.
The hostel was well situated within the city. The staff were helpful and respectful. As a mature traveller I was previously concerned about the inconsideration of groups of younger guests, but this did not prove to be a problem. I enjoyed my stay and those I met. I felt I recieved good value for money.
Very nice atmosphere.
Good position, friendly and helpful staff. Great terrace for a bear and a beautiful view
Good location: metro, sagrada familia, restaurants
to hard to find late at night with a little sticker on a door saying hotel
we stayed close to the sea and within walking dostance to the main street. quite noisy,no breakfast, but value for money.clean rooms.
Cleaners did good job each day Room was very small and basic and its door and lock were not very secure at all. Bathroom was dirty and small and the shower door was completely broken so the water went all over the floor.
The Hotel is in walking distance to important places. The internett service at the Hotel was good. They did not clean the bathroom, just the floor. They did not change the sheets or the towels. When my purse was stolen at the Hotel - confirmed by other guests, I asked for a confirmation for my insuranse company (then I did not have to go to the police station), they refused to give my this. They were afraid that their own insuranse in some peculiar way would rise.
Situated near the center of Barcelona. It was easy to reach the most interestinf places for us
The people were very friendly, the place was very clean and there were computers to use. We did actually get room service, but i'm not sure if it was actually something the hostal did.
stayed one night, cheap & cheerful, near metro, room was very clean, staff very helpful my room was not available til 7pm, but left my bag & it was placed in my room for my my return , & they did offer me the oportunity to shower & get ready in another room
the fact that I was very close to the center of the town, the room was exactly what you need to live in, clean, nice bathroom etc. the only unpleasant thing was that in the room was a little bit cold
The hotel was very clean and close to a metro stop for easy access to the city center. We booked a room with a bathroom but got to the hotel and were told that none were available. We had to stay in a room without a bathroom and walk down the hall to shower. The walls/door of our room were very thin.
It was the cheapest. That is all it has going for it. Where to start? 1) They charged a 5% fee for using credit cards 2) room look nothing like priceline photo 3) 1 little light bulb for entire room 4) fuse blew after plugging hairdryer 5) dirtier than the bathroom in a bus station
Very new and modern. Rooms clean and spacious. Free wifi and free water was a nice touch.
The hotel was very modern. The services were very nice. The water in the swimming pool was very cold. We couldn't use it at all.
Ease of access by Metro to most locations, room quite spacious, breakfast various and plentifull. In walking range to sea front, beach. Use of lift based on the same card to access your room, Internet in room not available, TV channels=waste of time. Front desk personnel can do with a bit more effort towards guest friendly attitude. At the moment, and probably for a few more months there's a construction site on the streets in vicinity, although not very noisy but confusing for taxi drivers not familiar with this neighbourhood.
Although the Confortel Barcelona is not in the city center, it is well located. It is 5 minutes walk to the subway, which is only 3 to 5 stations to the city center depending where you want to go. The service was very good. The airline had lost my luggage and the hotel staff took care of calling the airline and tracking my luggage. The hotel just opened in 2008 and is very modern.
nice big and very clean room,ok breakfast,ok location 5-10 min walk from metro station late check-in around 14:45, front office ladies very unpleasant and rude, never hear 'welcome'' ,never explained to us where are the main areas of the hotel or what time is the breakfast
Lobby is well designed. Breakfast had limited offer for the price. Rooms are a bit dark.
The hotel was modern and new, with very spacious and clean rooms including bathrooms. The location was excellent, 5 minutes from beach and right beside La Rambla del PobleNou where there were many restaurants and cafes, and 10 minutes from llacuna metro station. Staff were pleasant. Also we had two rooms located opposite each other at the end of the corridor, for ourselves and two children, these were very cleverly made to be connecting rooms by being able to partition off the end of the corridor - this was a very functional and useful feature particularly when one has children. Breakfast was not included in price and was expensive, but the many cafes on La Rambla PobleNou provided a good and cheaper alternative. Small but annoying point regarding the wheels on the beds, if one was reading in a sitting position with back against the wall the bed would slowly move away from the wall.
wide range of excellent breakfast.courteous reception staff clean room and throughout, secure ,modern facilities.enjoyed our stay.however slightly off city.plus point close to seafront, could have done with few more days but expensive for out of town hotel
The hotel was very clean The pool was very small and was out of action. I found the hotel too clinical for my taste.
Close to the beach. very good size for the rooms, clean, good standard. the personel at reception should talk a bit more english, nevertheless, they are very friendly and helpful.
Barcelona is a wonderful city with so many things to experience, so the hotel will mainly deal with basic needs - a bed, a bath and internet access - and it does Hostal Opera exemplary. Not flashy but effective and uncomplicated. The staff was friendly and helpful.
Good location, near the subway station Liceu. Comfort beds and good Wi-Fi. No TV. The shower is not so good.
Superb location, clean and tidy. No tv and the air-con did not work.
can hear everything thats going on in the whole hotel
The hotel staff are nice and friendly. It is a very basic and simple hotel, but having a private bathroom was an asset. No TV, no radio, music or alarm. The view is so confined and overlooking an alley.
Hostal Opera provides a good balance of cost and facilities/amenities. Very very central location is a strong plus and the staff is really helpful. Very basic room. Seemed relatively clean but not to my standards.
Central Cleen You could hear what happend in your neighbours room
It is a good budget accomodation, conveniently located in the centre of Barcelona. The single room was small but neat and clean. Nothing that I can think of.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We have originally booked for 2 nights but ended up staying for 7. We had requested a quiet room and were successful with room 423. Room was clean, beds not uncomfortable with an adequate supply of towels, excellent value for money. Hotel staff were helpful and pleasant. An ideal location just off the Ramblas. We could have had 2 bedside lights instead of the one and perhaps a change of curtains which were badly torn.
The room was clean, newly renovated & decorated. Most of the front desk staff was helpful and friendly (am not sure how much english they spoke). The sound in the halls and rooms really travels due to there being no carpet - it is just really noisy when people walk through the halls talking or carrying suitcases. The room was dark, couldn't get any direct sunlight. The air conditioning turns off automatically after several hours of being on, so every night I woke up in the middle of the night and our room temperature was up to 27 degrees (30+ outside).
I liked that the hotel is freshly renovated and the design is good and modern. Internet connection was good. Everything is well thought in the hotel and deffinitely suitable for a citybreak since is based in a very good location although a bit far from metro station. However, there is a good connection by bus to the nearest metro station as well as the station for the trains to the airport. I wish it was made clear at the outset that the safe box in the room was at an extra cost. I would not say that out bathroom was very clean, especially floors.
Location. Great bathrooms. No view. Broken credit card machine, had to pay in cash.
clean The single bed room and it's bath are too small. The walls are thin and therefore the shower innth adjacent room was very noisy
The motel was very easy to find, the room was beautifully clean, and the continental breakfast was great. The motel also offered free internet Smell of cigarette smoke - but this applied to all European hotels that I stayed in
Very modern and stylish room. A great location in Terminal 1.
The hotel is situated in a good location, quiet street, at 3-4 min walking from the metro station, the staff was friendly, the rooms including all the facilities, very clean, the towels were changed daily, the internet connection was very good. Even if it is classified as a 2 * hotel, it looks like a 3 * one. They could improve the food offered as breakfast, including other products. The safe should be inluded in the room's price (it costs 3 euros/ night). Overall the price is a little too big.
Room was clean, the standard was nice. There was Internet access in the room and good breakfast bufet. We had to change room because there was broken sealing in the bathroom and it made a lot of noise. The second room had a view on the wall (3 m away!) and we couldnt see neither the sky nor even what the weather was like.
Staff, complimentary breakfast (good value), prices hotel was okay for the money but next time I would get a hotel closer to the major attractions.
nice bathroom with hot shower and water pressure
My computer is very picky about wifis but it actually talked to theirs (which is not advertised but exists). The location is quite good, specially if (like me) you're traveling relatively light and need to use the train station at Sants several times. The TV worked well (I've been to too many 4-stars hotels where it had more snow than a ski station).
the friendliness and easiness of the whole experience the restaurant, although the food was good there was no atmosphere and they were playing westlife.
The staff was very kind and professional, they gave us all the information we required for our city trip. I have nothing to complain.
Clean, not noisy, in a good position. The bill was wrong, and to modify it we have to said 5 times, we haven't taken breakfast or something to minibar or bar.
The room was very nice. The air conditioner was easy to use Using the wireless internet can be a hassle, it often won't connect at first and you'll need to get a new password several times before it does. Also, the location isn't very good. There is a metro a few blocks away though. Oh, and it's a little too expensive.
- quite big room; - public parking easy and not risky - staff friendly and professional - cost of the hotel private parking was really high (17 euros / night) - restaurant was closed
The hotel was clean, room was huge, staff was nice and there was a PC with internet available what was very useful Too far from city centre, easily accessible but far
breakfast, cleanliness of the room, good service one night it was very loud.
Good price and short distance from main city
the mini bar, and the quiteness, close to a 24hrs supermarket, and close to a metro station, professional staff no kettle
The price... The hotel is very far away from the heart of the city, tv doesn't work, cheap hotel (doors are very difficult to open for example), the personel is pretty rude, bad experience...
Clean, not too far from main places. Mostly comfortable. Free internet downstairs on the hotel computer. Quiet. Everything we expected, nothing unexpected.
The Abba Garden suited our needs perfectly. Myself and my two children were attending a Barcelona game and it is very conveniently located less than 15 mins walk. Hotel is very modern and has all the facilities one could need. It was very clean and the staff couldn't have been more mannerly and helpful. Would definitely stay there again.
The shuttle service worked well for us, the pool facility was a big draw card though it was closed early one afternoon without notice which was very inconvenient as we had young children and had planned on taking them swimming after a long day of sight seeing.
good value for money hotel is borderline of being 'good'
The clamminess of the place. The facilities like the swimming-pool, the children's park, the jacuzzi and the sauna where great. The rooms have no blackouts to stop the light. The shuttle only worked from 17h00m until 20h00m. The restaurant cuisine for dinner was not very appropriate for us, they didn't have any grilled menu or traditional food like "paella", everything was "nouvelle cuisine", and the prices were higher than the prices of good restaurants in central Barcelona.
Very nice pool and room. Restaurant and service was good. Staff was helpful and efficient. Room was clean and attractive for price.
My girlfriend, rose garden close by, vicinity of congress center, walk to Metro station (at least nice if wheather is fine), Pool, room with balcony relatively thin walls to neighbour room,
Good, helpful staff. Decent room for the price. Location was distant from public transport. No stores nearby for buying basic shampoo, soap, etc.
Breakfast is ok. Sauna. Close to exhibition. A very nice local restaurant nearby - 50m uphill. Breakfast youghurt with Preservatives. Quite cold swimming pool with a lot of pieces of trees and leaves. Restaurant is quite expensive. Additinal chage for internet - 10 euro 1 day, 18 Euro for 3 days, 40 Euro for month.
Because of unavailability of a Family room. We got 2 rooms connected. The rooms were big with a large outsite terras (balcony). Excellent breakfast, friendly staff. Not all of the staff was speaking good english.
I found the receptionists very warm and welcoming every time I passed by. The hotel has a touristic feel rather than business despite it being used for meetings, presentations and conferences almost constantly. Breakfast was great although they need to monitor the coffee, hot milk and hot water more closely at the later end of service as they run out. Wifi and internet are not free, I was in Tallinn Estonia 1 week before and you can get on-line for free in all bars, hotels and restarants - Come on, catch up!!! The chairs in the bedrooms are very narrow and after 3 hours working they became very uncomfortable. I found the location to be very remote, there are no other bars or restaurants within walking distances. (up to 1km)
