The location, the beach.
We arrived at 10:30 am, they told us the check in time was at 3:00 pm, then we waited until that time, but our rooms were ready 2 hours later, almost at 5 pm. Very bad service. We had dinner at Plumerias for the New Year’s Eve, and the table was messy and dirty, cause they didn’t even bother to clean it until we where done. Also the buffet was super pricey for what it was just because it was New Year.... Last, but not least on the last day the leg of my chair at the breakfast buffet broke down, which made me fell down, and hit my head really hard... nobody assisted me, they were very concerned only to hide the chair in order to protect themselves from a lawsuit or to preserve their reputation. Finally the manager came and the only thing that she said was: “I’m sorry about it. Please write to tell me how you are....” It’s a shame they don’t make the according “five stars” maintenance to the furniture and installations. The hotel doesn’t deserve to be a 5 star hotel, It looks tired, old fashioned... it is more like a four stars, but the price is extremely expensive... nor the staff is helpful at all...we paid almost 1000 dls for each room every day and definitely it was not worth it... I wouldn’t recommend the hotel to anybody who’ll like to get theirs moneys worth. Also they have 5-6 dolphins in extremely small ponds. Which to my perspective it’s animal cruelty. SAVE YOUR MONEY and stay in another hotel.

Everything. The place is so peaceful, away from all the hustle and bustle of Honolulu. The conditions are perfect. They offered a champagne for our honeymoon with a very nice message. Overall was perfect and by this way I want to say thanks to Shanley, the one receptionist which helped us during our stay !
There was nothing wrong...everything was amazing !
About
Overview
In 1964, the Kahala Hotel quickly became a Hawaiian icon housing a lot of A-listers and Presidents. The Kahala Hotel and Resort is a posh property with lush grounds and celebrity clientele, but it’s still appropriate for a family-friendly stay.
The oceanfront Kahala Hotel and Resort is situated on the island’s priciest areas in Oahu’s posh Kahala neighborhood. There’s not much within walking distance, but guests are just a five-minute drive from grocery stores, a movie theater, and restaurants. The crater park that defines the shoreline, Diamond Head State Monument, is an eight-minute drive and offers fabulous views of Waikiki and Honolulu from its peak. Roughly a 20-minute drive will lead guests to Waikiki, central Honolulu, and The Hanauma Bay State Nature Preserve.
Amenities at the resort focus solely on vacationers with a gorgeous, secluded beach, oceanfront saltwater pool, hot tub, and small kids’ pool. A large ocean-view gym offers state-of-the-art equipment, classes, a steam room, and sauna. In addition, the Kahala Spa offers standard spa services. One of the hotel's most popular features is its Dolphin Quest, where guests can have a once-in-a-lifetime interactive dolphin experience. There are four on-site restaurants, two are oceanfront and offer international menus, sandwiches, and quick bites.
The guest room at Kahala are big and classy with a mix of sizes and décor. All rooms feature common amenities such as air conditioning, free WiFi, flat-screen TVs, and iHomes. Other conveniences and room standards include coffeemakers with free coffee and tea, mini-fridges, bottled water, luggage stands, robes, slippers, hairdryers, and much more. The huge granite accented bathrooms are as glorious as the rooms with upgraded toiletries, glass showers, soaking tubs, and much more.
