Strike ruined everything
There’s an ongoing strike. Starts at 6am and ends at 10pm. No peace or tranquility at all. Can’t sleep with the constant drumming. They try to drown out the picket line drumming with loud Hawaiian music. Riducolous. Sheets had sand.
A bit disappointed
Location was good.
Rooms were much smaller than I expected. We stayed in the renovated stayed and the bathrooms were nice but even with just 2 people the room was very crowded. The staff weren’t very inviting. It seemed that they have special treatment to the groups more than the other guests. We were never acknowledged at the restaurant at the hotel or any other staff for that matter. We pretty much had to ask for the attention. So we weren’t too happy with the experience.
Run down crappy hotel
This hotel is a rundown crappy hotel. I’m surprised Sheraton allow them to put their name on it. The rooms are worse than any motel 6 motel. The only thing good I can say is the housekeepers did a good job.
The location was great and easy to get around.
Not a lot of food options for children at a reasonable price.
No SPG points because I booked via KAYAK! Never ag
I have gold status on SPG. I booked via KAYAK and I got a big surprise when checking in: not only my status was not recognized but I got no SPG points for my stay! Terrible! I'll never book an SPG (or Marriott etc) via KAYAK! This was NOT specified at time of booking I may have saved $15 per night but not worth it! As per the hotel, great location, nice ocean view, but the side looking toward Diamond Head is noisy due to the air conditioning tower of the adjoining building. Yes, very noisy during the night.
Bathtub didn't drain well. Water would accumulate very fast. Taking a shower was a gross experience. Hand towels had stains on them.
The open plan of the lobby was gorgeous. The pool area was very nice and relaxed, and the beach is only a short walk away from the hotel.
Outdated and in need of updating
Staff was great but hotel itself was very aged and poorly maintained. Shower were terrible. Rooms in need of dire upgrades. Based on price was disappointed in quality
The rooms felt more like a motel than a hotel. The only area that is decent is the lobby & the gym.
The staff was very friendly; rooms were conveniently located; good food and cocktails. Parking was easy.
The false fire alarm.
Excellent location just across from the beach. Next door to new international marketplace. To be open this spring. Lei making staff was on the original Hawaii Five-o. Some rooms can be a little noisy. Try to stay on front or side. Partial ocean view is worth it if you get the one that overlooks the pool which also has nightly Hawaiian entertainment. History of the hotel is also a plus.
Overall the service was good.
Like most rooms in Hawaii, the hotel needs to be updated.
