The hotel location is on the beach, and directly in the middle of the Waikiki area of action. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful whenever approached. The only average part of the hotel was that my bed was on the verge of needing to be retired from service. I'm a little more sensitive to soft mattress as compared to the average person. My room was very small ! We could walk around the bed, barely. The bathroom was small as well. Not impressed.
Beautiful, iconic hotel with a long history in an excellent location. Stayed in the Tower Wing and the rooms were nothing extraordinary. The same level of quality can be found for less in the area. Personnel were great. Food was overpriced for average fare.
The hotel has a back courtyard style toward the oceanfront with many rooms facing an open dining and socializing area. Yet despite shutting down the dining and drinking options a sizeable group of people were permitted to boistrously carry on until 1 AM. Cons (-) The rooms are a bit run down because of how old the hotel is. The lobby confuses you because the upkeep in the main areas are beautifully kept. Housekeeping does not do a thorough job. Stains and disgusting mildew in the toilets. Would not stay here again.
