Close to golf, 2 min shuttle to the beach, and close to activities for young children. Adults and couples with older kids would be better off elsewhere Secluded, once you are at the resort, you are at the resort. Access to everyday items, a lighter, groceries, etc... pretty limited. Get anything you want for the trip before you get to the resort.
Wonderful hotel. Staff was very helpful. Room was very nice and spacious.
The hotel was in a beautiful setting, with the golf course surrounding it. The staff went out of their way to make our stay wonderful. They remembered our names and welcomed us each time we entered the facility. The rooms were very spacious and the bathroom was incredible. Everything was amazing. I wish there was a way for them to get the landscapers to not cut the grass, power trim the hedges and use the gas blower while guests are sitting outside on the patio trying to relax. I understand that the attention to the greenery is why the property is so beautiful, I was just hoping there was a happy medium.
I and my family really apreciated the welcoming presence of lemonade, iced tea, and water on the hot days. I also apreciated how the staff was able to say my last name correctly. Imediate access to coffee in the evenings.
Quality of the staff and hotel was excellent. The setting is beautiful and close enough to restaurants, shops, and attractions to walk, but far enough away that you felt like you were on vacation. The only small question mark we had was the quality of the pool. It was perfectly adequate in size and similar to most hotel pools, but it did not match the quality of the hotel itself. The deck chairs were plastic and the larger resort (Sea Pines) had run of it, so it was very crowded with children and others. It would be nice if the Inn at Harbour Town had its own pool.
Very clean and well kept. We had standard king bed without ocean view. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Didn't use restaurants but exercise room was nicely equipped and modern.
Perfect Spring Break! We stayed at Sonesta for three nights in early March and had a relaxing respite from the stresses of work, and for our 14 year old son, schoolwork. Beautiful lobby, with lots of seating. We brought some games and puzzles, and there was plenty of space to play. The pool areas were beautiful, and the jacuzzi was steaming hot. Our room was lovely, too. Nice fluffy bed and tidy bathroom. Great beach area. A private event was going on in a covered, outdoor dining area, and it looked so neat to be oceanside and have a party. Everyone was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at Sonesta again.
Well decorated. Cleaning staff was consistently disappointing. Once they took our towels and forgot to give us any new towels and once the room looked barely touched. Everyday they were bad about coming before 8 am and coming back during the four hour Windows we provided.
Hotel grounds were beautiful. Pools were nice. Staff was friendly and courteous. Rooms were clean and modern. One feature we really loved - tiny floor lights that kicked on when you stepped off the bed. Only activated at night, they allowed you just enough light to see your way to the bathroom without knocking into things. Not a problem exclusive to Sonesta, but by 10:30am all the pool chairs were "reserved", and you couldn't find a seat let alone a couple chairs together. Guests reserving multiple chairs early in the am and then leaving their "towels" on those chairs all day long preventing their use by others is a problem systemic to this industry and really needs to be addressed.
Everything about our stay was flawless with the exception of internet access and WIFI. Both were very sporadic and not always available. We love the location, grounds are beautiful, staff was great and our room and entire resort were very clean. Love staying here!
Everything was nice.
The rooms were very modern, friendly front desk, large variety of food at buffet. All you can eat, with band duo. The Easter buffet check was a surprise, did not get a price or menu beforehand. Check was $115.00 buffet dinner for two, +$15.00 tip for great service, and we did not order extra items. Total for Sonesta Seacrest Easter Buffett for two was $130.00!!! Wow!! Will return, but call for price of buffet first ;)
The resort's pool and beach were excellent. We had no problem getting chairs at the pool, and the beach was lovely. At high tide, the beach gets really crowded because it shrinks so much. The Sonesta is pet friendly as is the beach. In the late afternoon, there are a lot of dogs on the beach.
The resort is in the Shipyard Community (gated with security and includes golf courses and the Van Der Meer Tennis Center) and has direct beach access. The rooms were newly renovated and the grounds were immaculate. The staff was top-notch--very helpful and professional from the check-in clerks to the cleaning staff. We were surprised when our parking lot view room was actually a view of the roof of part of the resort. Not a huge problem, but still... Also, the beach entrance for the resort is connected to the beach club access for the larger Shipyard communnity. This was only a problem because the beach area just outside the resort tended to be quite crowded. However, everyone was nice and we had a great time.
Easy to get to. Plenty of car parking space
We had no problems during our stay, everything was as expected. Comfortable beds and clean rooms. Hot breakfast was very good with plenty of variety and the staff did a great job keeping it full. If i had one complaint it would be the pillows. Nobody in the family really liked the pillows. Just not comfortable, but the comfortable bed made up for it.
Cleanliness, quietness and location No dislikes
The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was very clean. The breakfast had great variety and well stocked. The fitness center did not have much equipment, however what was there did work.
Staff was very personable. Breakfast was amazing. Easy to find. We were totally satisfied and will return. A table in the room would have been nice.
Clean, friendly staff, & excellent service. Young man named Ray did an outstanding job setting up breakfast & maintaining it. A little pricy
Breakfast was good, Staff very friendly & helpful. Did not get in your way to replenish the supplies. Room was clean. We were put in an ADA room and the front desk clerk told us that since they were fully booked we had NO CHOICE but to take the room. We acquiesced, and put up with the ADA room for 3 nights. Having stayed at Hamptons' every time we travel, this was the first time to have stayed in an ADA room. The bed was very soft and caved in the middle.
The tv took 5 seconds to change the channel
Cleanliness Noisy air conditioner. Not on Hilton Head. Tried to cancel the second Nite but was told they couldn't do anything about it even though the website stated "easy cancellation". I was told to contact Expedia. When we tried to get our room moved because of the noisy Ac the front desk was at first very unaccommodating.
Staff was friendly. The hotel was quiet. Street view, only one bed was made hen room service came. Not enough parking. Room smelled like smoke.
value, very clean Air condition system was VERY loud
The hotel was centrally located. Very close to outlet shopping but a bit of a drive to the beach. From our room we had a view of the intercoastal waterway. Very beautiful. Hotel was very quiet and comfortable. Staff was very friendly. Not a whole lot I didn't like I would defintely stay here again if I was not planning on going to the beach. We were in town for shopping and golf.
Have stayed at this facility many times over the years and have found it to be quite nice and reasonably priced.
I loved the ocean view from my room. The TV guide for the different channels was sticky. The bathroom needed an exhaust fan.
Workmen started working at 7:30 am in the room next to us. It was very disturbing. Nothing was done even after I called the front desk.
I surprised my wife with a weekend trip to HHI for Valentines Day and Marriott did not disappoint. The rooms are recently remodeled so everything was clean and new. We enjoyed working out in the fitness room before going out to dinner each night. Although it was too cold to swim, we enjoyed the views of the ocean from the pool deck. The staff was friendly and professional the entire time, wishing us a happy Valentines Day with a smile on multiple occasions. I recommend highly- great value for the level of service and amenities.
I really cannot say enough about everything I enjoyed at this hotel. Location, view, friendly and helpful staff and one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on are only a few highlights of my favorite parts of my stay. We also ate in the hotel restaurant and the food was wonderful as was the waitstaff. I can't wait to plan a trip to come back.
Due to an emergency we did not get to stay after checking in. We received a call that because of a forest fire threatening our home we didn't get to stay I think a refund of at least 3nights should be in order but that won't happen. I will warn everyone I know to avoid using this agency for bookings.
Extremely clean + well appointed rooms and beautiful beach. Pools were excellent and the hotel had a luxurious feel to it. Staff was friendly and helped when asked. When I checked in, they asked when I would check out. I told them I would check out at the latest time which they said was 12PM. They DEACTIVATED our room keys by 10AM. We had to wait for 15 minutes (wet from pool + beach) for someone to come to let us into our room. The women who came acted like this situation is normal. (Never happened to me at any hotel I stayed out.) You shouldn't ask for check out time if your not going to keep my keys active until I actually check out. When we got to our first room and attempted to turn on the shower, sewage came out from the tub. It was disgusting but we were immediately given another upgraded room and everything was fine.
The Westin is a very nice, Vegas style resort hotel. I would have liked to have seen the areas around the pool decks kept a little more ship shape. There were lots of leaves on the seating and decks. It seemed like they were on their off season staffing levels, so not all tasks were being attended to immediately. If I had paid full price to stay, I would have been disappointed.
location, atmosphere, staff, hotel condition, location messy, too many rules, poor hours of operations,
Ocean front . Parking
Beautiful location, modern clean rooms, very nice pool area, very friendly and professional staff., That I did not stay long enough
Pool facilities are great, the lay-out of the resort good, good amount of shade around pool good waiters to come to your chair. The resort location in Port Royal was good close to good golf courses. Check in was easy and check-out a breeze! Staff were friendly and helpful! no negative items
Beautiful location on Hilton Head Island, with great beach and pools, whirlpool. The grounds were gorgeous and well maintained. The bed was extremely comfortable, rooms were very clean and quiet. The staff was awesome...classy place!
We enjoyed the continental breakfast, the ease of check in and the location of the hotel. Not really. The drain in our shower was clogged with hair and therefore kept backing up when we showered.
I love the breakfast!
I enjoyed the fact it was close to the center of the island. We were able to get around fairly easily and we could get to a beach quickly. The air conditioner was either way too cold or way too warm. It didn't want to kick off. We reserved a non smoking room and was put in a smoking room. The swimming pool was filthy. The shower was extremely weak and faulty. The water smelled terribly bad.
Happy to get a last minute reservation. The beds were comfortable considering. It wasnt horrible, however I won't be booking it again. The hotel needs updating. We had a very noisy dehumidifier in our room - In addition to the air conditioning unit made for quite a bit of white noise. A paint can was used as a doorstop to the outside elevator. The breakfast room was not kept clean. It was not restocked quickly and the garbage cans were overflowing. The sausage were literally floating in grease. My adult 20 something girls said they'd necer stay at a Dats Inn again.
It was a affordable alternative to some of the more expensive options on the island. Staff was nice. It was in a very central location to everywhere we went while visiting. Room was satisfactory/average however very clean. Also I was able to make last min reservations on a Fourth of July weekend! I would stay again.. Room was very average. Breakfast was a madhouse, and ran out very early.
Location Air Conditioner air blowing on bed.
I can't understand how anyone would rate this dump more than one star. Get rid of the mold, clean the carpet, floors & windows
The bed. No.
I have been coming here for 20 years. Great location both for the beach and Coligny area. Tiki Hut is nice with live music all day. Staff did a great job! Caroline, was very helpful in my room accommodations and had a great attitude. She should be rewarded.
The staff did not call us back, though promised, about a shirt we forgot in the room. All we wanted was just an answer as to whether they found it or not. We are very disappointed.
My short stay was overall a pleasureable one. I did unfortunately fiind the prior guests false eyelash on the carpet by the bed. :( I did bring it to the attention of the night desk clerk who said she would note it and adjust my bill, but did not see any adjustment on my bill.
The beach was so close The beach house is not a resort it's a nasty old hotel that calls itself a resort.
The breakfast was delicious! Good price and would come back for the buffet. The beds were very comfortable. It would have been nice if your website knew it could have told us that it was under renovations. There was some hipcups staying there. The staff was great and had a great attitude going through their transition.
loved the beach atmosphere, the tiki bar, the restaurant whose food was delicious. Walking distance to resturants, shops and obviously the beach. The hotel had just been remodeled. Although the bed was super comfortable and there was a small sofa in the room, there was only 1 chair that was very uncomfortable. Also, bathroom was very small, could use more counter space. There was a $10.00 fee for each night that we were not aware, could someone at Kayak look into this?
Very comfortable rooms. Polite front desk. Perfect location. Common hallways were not air conditioned.
The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean and well appointed. The pool and bar were very nice. The beach was beautiful. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever slept in while staying in a hotel. The hallways, and elevator are not air conditioned. They are very stuffy. The restaurant menu selection was slim and uninspiring. The bartender was unable to make common mixed drinks well.
Location was centrally located
We were given great service from beginning to end! The concierge Gray was very helpful and friendly. Since we came on the offseason, we were able to get an oceanfront room at a weeks notice. We were even able to change the reservation last minute with no penalties. They were much more than accommodating and the location is amazing: right at the beach and Coligny Circle! We will definitely be back again!
We had a awsome stay at this holiday inn. Rooms and services were great. A real nice place to stay. I didnt want to ever leave. Nothing to complane about here.
Everything Can be updated more
Convenience to pool and beach and resort restaurants are close. The units had everything we needed and very clean. Accessing the building was a little difficult. Elevator at one end only (farthest from beach), hallways closed off and not.
Beachside Great people Small rooms...but they are just condos
The price wasn't bad for being beach front At first walking in the room smelled terrible. I can get over that but then I noticed roaches running around the room. On top of that a hurricane came through (we booked a month earlier) and needed to evacuate. The resort refused to refund us or credit us for the two nights we had already paid for. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
On the beach, but not a great view. Elevators are not located close to all rooms, so it is a hike up to the third floor every time. Rooms are older and the bed was not comfortable. However it was priced accordingly, so if you're looking on a budget, this is a good option.
location was awesome, walk to beach and pool across nice boardwalks. bike rental place on property. very close to whole foods, kroger, starbucks was very convenient. unit was advertised as having "Ocean-view" which we paid extra for. Disappointing to find out that we had to stand up at one corner of balcony and stretch our necks in order to see the ocean. Sitting on the balcony had no ocean-view just parking lot. Check out at 10 am was somewhat early as well. 11 am would have been nicer. Building smells like old books.
Loved the view of the ocean and being ocean front Room was clean and recently renovated
Good location (across from the Fresh local supermarket) Good size kitchen for extended stay Breakfast (cold continental with toasters) Things are showing their age and use: the carpet, the interior, the bathroom, the tennis court (unplayable-needs major repair), the bathtub drains a bit slow, etc.
Kitchenette in room. Nice facility. It's not in a beach and just off of a main road. Not much property but cute pool area with pretty surroundings and easy access via car to all of Hilton Head.
The cost was reasonable and the room was extremely comfortable The mattress was so comfortable, usually a rare thing in a hotel/suite that is so reasonable. Enjoyed the daily maid service. I liked everything about Parklane. The complementary breakfast was nice . My idea of breakfast is more likehot grits, eggs and toast. This was nice anyway.
The guy who covered the front desk in the afternoon was extremely helpful and friendly. The room was nice and comfortable. The pool and hot tub were nice. The grounds were pretty and well maintained. It was a good location. Easy drive to beach. Only issue was unhelpful and unfriendly woman at desk in the morning.
I loved the hotel layout plenty of room I didn't not like that fact that we saw dust over the furniture & hair inside the tub.
Location TV broken upstairs. Woke up at 3am by noisy neighbor. Turned on the lights and saw a huge roach run across the bathroom vanity. Could not sleep the rest of the night.
Noisy refrigerator. Staff did not respond to our complaint.
Pool rooms Staff could have been kinder and breakfast needed protein
Close enough to Parris Island to see our son, a short drive to the beach. Room was clean and comfortable and larger than expected. Nice to have a kitchenette. Nothing really.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable, nice porch area. Staff was EXTREMELY unfriendly & unhelpful while we were checking in, check out staff was great. But check in staff acted like we were the last person they wanted to talk to and they had us wait for 15-20 minutes at the unattended counter before anyone even appeared and gave no apology. I also questioned why vehicle information was needed and the answer given was 'because they need it' and I asked again because I don't usually give out license number and car description without a cause and then she rolled her eyes and stated that it was in case of cars loitering, to which I then filled it out after my annoyance level growing even higher towards her. The two boys the next morning were great though, like i said. Very helpful.
Staff was great, accommodations were just what we needed
Room was clean. There is an $11/night fee that is the small print. Misrepresents the cost for the room. Would have liked to see the breakfast contain some type of meat and eggs.
The helpfulness of the staff especially Michelle and the size of the rooms. Right across from an uncrowded part of the beach. In walking distance of many quaint shops, a grocery store and restaurants The breakfast was included but was horrible. They put out frozen sausages and expected you to cook them in a broken microwave. Their was no milk and other items they also would run out on toward the end of the breakfast hours. The coffee was cold.
We were able to extend our visit with no trouble at all.
Location We had a problem with the plumbing, the commode, they could not fix it so they moved us to another room.
I liked the fact that we were close to the ocean and the room was clean. The main hotel area is not connected to where we actually stayed. The whole set up was really weird. There was another hotel or apartments in between where our room was. So we had quite a distance to walk to use the pool , laundry or even go to the main hotel are and the parking is awful. One day, nobody even came to clean our room. We never had enough towels or coffee and we actually ran out of toilet paper! With numerous calls to the front desk, we finally got some, 2 hours later! The people at the front desk were very helpful tho.
close to everything
it smelled a little musty but seemed clean
THE ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN OUR BED BEING KING SIZED WAS COMFORTABLE THE ACCESS TO MOTEL WAS EASY OUR STAY WAS A VERY ENJOYABLE OCCASSION WE WOULD DEFINATELY USE RED ROOF IN THE FUTURE
Location, price, and staff were the pluses of our stay at the hotel.. All these were more than adequate..staff was super great.. The room had a little to be desired as far as cleanliness.. Floors were a vinyl and were in a desperate need of a mopping.. Other than that it was a $80 hotel room.. For the money and location I don't think you Could beat it..
Two of my players got bedbugs in thier room. They lost a lot of points for that.
Great location, facilities, staff and activities. We are not DVC members and stayed at this facility as a guest. This was our first time here, and we will definitely come back. Kids raved about all the activities (bonfire, crabbing from the pier, making shark necklaces etc.) and were asking to come back before we left. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. Onsite heated pool open from 8a - 10 p with waterslide was great. Beachhouse is a short drive away or you can take the shuttle. Since we were traveling with 8yr /5 yr and 8 month old, we opted to drive. It is a short and convenient drive and the beach and beach house faciilties were great. We will be back.
We visited during March break and had a wonderful time. Great activities for my 9-year-old daughter. All 3 generations really enjoyed the activities. Great golfing, shopping and dining in Hilton Head. Lovely beach house. Will return!
One of the best run, nicest locations I have ever stayed in all my years of traveling. Perfect for the family with young children, as the activities and friendliness of the staff cannot be beat. We were honestly stunned by how much nicer the accomodations look in person versus the web site. I highly recommend it.
Servive was amazing, beach was easy to get to, lots of ''to do'' options. Can't Wait to go back!
For the third year in a row, an absolutely PERFECT family getaway. This resort has all of the special Disney touches we enjoy, without the theme park atmosphere that we do not. Our FAVORITE place!
We have just returned from the most fabulous trip to Hilton Head and the Disney resort was the primary reason for our enjoyment. We had never been to the area before and looked at a number of villas before choosing Disney. We didn't realize how much of a bonus the kids activities were. We have 7 & 9 year old boys and this is the first vacation I did not hear ''We're bored''. Crab fishing, crafts, campfires, water slide, marsh exploring, magic shows, and the all important Kids Night Out! You have to check it out. We'll be back!!
Hotel was nice. Rooms were clean, but not as clean as I would expect from Disney. Staff is wonderful! View from our room was great! Stayed in the studio room with husband and 2 kids and will bring an air mattress next time if it is the only room available. The sofa bed hurt!!! Not comfortable at all!!! Regular bed was ok. Pools were nice. Loved the beach house. Cocktail drinks are way too expensive!!! They charge you for the drink, the mix in the drink, the liquor in the drink and whether or not the drink is frozen or on the rocks!!! Must try the 'Cookie Monster', it was a HUGE hit with the kids. Will be back in October and we have rented a 2 bedroom for that trip so hopefully sleeping conditions will be better. Overall, great trip and while the hotel arrangements were not necessarily the best, we were there for the beach and that part of the trip was awesome!!!
Accommodations and location for the price. Evening front desk staff was not very friendly. There was one gentleman who went above and beyond to be helpful.
Nothing. The hotel refused to honor the reservation.
Good location. There multiple bugs in the room, and I was there for only a few hours.
Location and cost It was a little "tired."
The breakfast buffet was very good, pool nice size and clean .Room clean and comfortable. Close to most things. Have a timeshare on Hilton Head and when wee cant stay there, we would stay at the Ramada again. t
Breakfast was good. Rooms fairly clean. People friendly. Pool was clean. Pool toilet had feces in it. Door frame to room loose. Telephone missing buttons and did not work. Hairdryer did not work, and requested another hairdryer 3 times, once in writing along with broken hairdryer, never received. Light above sink flickered all night even when the light was off. Possible electrical problem. Toilet would flush. Elevator had not been inspected since March 2010.
Low cost Good Breakfast Clean Motel Old
Breakfast was good. Dining area was comfortable The room smelled damp and moldy. Difficult to be there because of the smell. The pool was nice. Breakfast was good. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Parking was unlimited. The hotel was perfectly located in Hilton Head for a very affordable price. Would not want to stay there again because of the smell.
The location of the hotel is absolutely perfect. 5 minute walk to the beach, public park, lots of shoppes, and restaurants. Having that convenience is well worth the price any day. Having the reception area physically separated from the hotel was a bit frustrating to deal with upon check-in and if I wanted to have breakfast it was also a walk from the hotel to reception. It wasn't that bad to deal with but it needs to labeled better.
Quiet, cold ac, bed and pillows very comfortable, good breakfast set up, Friendly staff. No rent in bathroom, entrance to building smelt dinghy, called about loosing an item never returned called like they said they would.
Location was good There was mode in the ceiling. Also, quality inn tried to charge me for 2 rooms.
It was centrally located to the beach and shopping that's about the only thing good about the hotel The hotel was going through renovations and the first day of our stay was terrible the first room the Ac/heat didn't work and the phone in the room didn't work so they switched us rooms the wifi was hit or miss and the hot water was terrible it took 5-10
It was relatively quiet No Hot Water and the Maintenance Head had to travel 45 miles in order to get to the hotel and could not be reached to correct the problem
Newly renovated and super close to Coligny beach, shops, and restaurants! No!
The hotel was very clean and our cleaning lady was great! The construction drilling right over our head was unbearable! That noise started at 9 a.m. And continued until 5 p.m. We were not told about construction until we checked in......on day we had no water.....they had no sign up to say there would be no h2o
Hilton Head Holiday Inn was different and nice. Bikes are wonderful, the beach was within walking distance. I wish I had gotten a bike for travel. everything was nearby. And being from Florida, Home of the fightin gators, we got to see a baby gator in
Ck Clean neatness
