Warwick Geneva

Hotel location was splendid and I had a nice view in the direction of the like (fountain). The staff was very nice and basically everything was kept clean and tidy.

Geneva Warwick is very much in the 70ties, though and this is not only because of the age of the building but because of mentality. In the hall there is a guy opening door for you and a lot of other stuff aiming at creating an impression of luxury. But the whole experience is far from the one of luxury. The first thing that killed it for me was that the hotel asks you for deposit upon arrival (I am still waiting for the release of it, but it is ok... now it is still just one working day after my stay there). I was in many hotels so far and never had I experienced that- do they expect that their guests will be stealing and destroying everything in the hotel? It definitely feels so and it stays very much in contrast with the guy who is acting there as automatic door and the stuff calling you "sir" at every occasion. Then you go to your room, it is funny experience when the door to your room are approx. 50 cm wide. Although, the room was quite nice, the bathroom was super tiny- meaning- when you use the toilet you can kiss the wall opposite if you are bored. The breakfast was okayish... It was in the hotel restaurant for which you receive 20% discount for lunch when you check in- I always get suspicious when you try to cross-sell your restaurant to your hotel guests, but anyway- there was enough to eat for breakfast and I wouldn't wish for anything more. In fact tiny details were decisive like the mozarella that did not taste like mozarella and the general feel of the hotel restaurant was a bit off, with paint falling off in places and big cctv cameras on the ceiling- again, are guests stealing spoons or sth? Summing up, by no means it is a bad hotel, but not a good one either. It feels very dated and the experience is far from 4-star one. The management should get rid of the guy opening doors and for his salary start refurbishing rooms- much better use of money (Knowing Switzerland they are likely paying him >50k per year for just standing there).
