Arts In Hotel Conde Carvalhal

The staff is extraordinarily friendly. The room is clean and nicely decorated with wooden floors instead of the usual carpets. There is a small kitchen area in the room. The hotel is located only 10 minutes away from the old town and not located within Funchals Hotel district.

In a few nights there have been dogs barking very loud. This is the drawback when you are not living in the hotel district but within a normal living area of the city.

The location of this hotel was ideal, close to the old town with lovely views of Funchal and the harbour from the terrace and our apartment window. The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly Mariana who provided us with lots of information and made us feel so welcome, treating us like friends rather than guests. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds extremely comfortable. We would definitely stay here again and have already recommended this hotel to family and friends.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff both while we were there and in advance. Lovely old original quinta with comfortable modern accomodation attached in a nice garden setting, within walking distance of the old town and central area.

Some visitors might not like the steep walks into town and back, but everywhere in Madeira/Funchal is like that!

The hotel fulfiled the expectation - very nicely designed & decorated, close to the old town. A very nice garden around with enough places both outside and inside the buildings offering privacy for relaxing. Excellent sleeping conditions. The staff (Beatrice and Marianne) was really very nice and more than helpful.

A small kitchen is part of studio offering. It was well equipped with small household appliances, but a smaller pot or a pan were missing.
