The hotel's location is its strongest point - very central and heaps to see and do and eat!!! All good.
I liked the ancient building of the hotel and its situation and also very good and friendly stuff. During our staying at the hotel we had 2 times change the room. First- because of problem with the wardrobe door in the room, the second time becase of the repairing works on our floor.
location is perfect, near the most famous bridge of Frenze, Ponte Vecciho. You can arrive Duomo and Uffizi just by walking.
Location and free breakfast All good
Location, value Had to friend Hotel get into internet, every time logged in and very slow
Fantastic location and excellent staff. Very good value for money, clean and reasonable breakfast. nothing to dislike
Great location, friendly reception staff and clean comofortable rooms Breakfast bufet was dismantled while we were still eating
Love the location of this hotel - very close to Pitti Palace and Boboli gardens, as well as the Ufizzi. I love the area and literally seeing the Boboli garden house from the breakfast table. The breakfast is pretty nice quality and the view from the terrace is one of the nicest in Florence. The hotel has also adopted two friendly cats that laze on the terrace. The staff has always been terrific. I did not like the noise this time. I have stayed at this hotel before, but on upper floors. This time I was on the second floor and the street noise of the vendors setting up at 5 am, and people stumbling and singing back from the bars late into the night was more than I'd experienced previously. The two things that were upsetting this time, were 1) a fellow patron across the hall woke me up at 2 am on my first night there as he spoke loudly into his cell phone for 20 solid minutes, then again at 2:30 another call and again at 3 am a third. he apparently didn't want to bother the woman who was staying with him, who complained loudly, so he stepped into the hallway to take his calls right in front of my door, and proceeded to literally yell into his phone like there was a bad NASA connection to Mars. The second thing that was pretty bad this time was it seemed that the cleaning staff arrived at 5- 5:30 am every morning and proceeded to walk around directly above, sorting out their carts for the day. We really like this hotel, but if we have to endure this kind of noise, we will find another favorite place.
Location was the best for us, breakfast was good enough I highly recommend. Rooms are small but that's not a big deal for us
Great Location, the price was deffinatly worth it concidering it is very central to everything.
The position of this is hotel must be one of the best in the whole of Florence it is so close to everything there is to see. As soon as you walk out of the door you are there. 10 steps and you are on the Ponte Vecchio a 2 minute walk to the Pitti Palace a 5 minute walk to the Uffizi (which we didnt go in as the queue waiting to go in was ridiculous if you seriously want to go book it before you travel) a 3 minute walk to the Piazza Republica and a 6 minute walk to the Duomo. The roof top terrace on the 6th floor is the reason why I origionally chose this hotel and I was not dissapointed after a tiring day of sightseeing to come back to the terrace for a drink and relax was heaven.Of a night dinner is served on the terrace and although the menu is very limited (due to the very small kitchen area) the food wes excellent. I would reccomend this hotel 100% to anyone. For best buys in Florence you should go the market stalls around San Lorenzo theare fantastic I got the most fab leather jacket for £80.One of the best city breaks I have had.
Very close to all major galleries. Clean, upgraded at no cost. The best reception staff in Italy for assistance. Very pleased with the choice.
Staff, room service, breakfast, accommodations, but ask for extra pillows. Also, elevators are super slow, but do not despair as other facilities make up for it. Do not walk with luggage to hotel is the only holdback as streets are tough for luggage. Center to sightseeing. As the saying goes, "do not judge a book by its cover", as this hotel's small corner entrance does not do the interior justice. It is truly a **** hotel. No gimmick. Elevator
The location, the hotel staff, the comfort of the hotel, the breakfast, the 5th floor bar, the lobby for relaxing, the sandwich shop next door "Ino" no free wi-fi, that's it. Otherwise, it's perfect for visiting Florence.
I loved the location, stayed with my daughter and granddaughter, since my grandson is studying in Florence and has an apartmentacross the Arno. We felt extremely safe ande pampered by yourexcellent staff, and especially loved the bar on the 5th floor. There wasnothing I did not like.
Everything!! Accommodations, location, charm, Comfort, Cleanliness & kind /helpful staff. Just perfect! Plus the amazing quality breakfast! Would stay there again & again!
The hotel staff was amazing. Rachel at the front desk helped us in every way. The rest of the front desk staff were all fantastic. The upgraded room was deeply thoughtful. I would recommend hotel very highly.
The service adn the kindness of the staff. The location nothing
The location was perfect. The rooms were great and very spacious. The staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms were very neat and clean. My only regret is that we didn't make more use of the rooftop bar and restaurant.
Location in central Florence is perfect for exploring the city. Staff is helpful and attentive.
Location was great, close to the main tourist sites. Distance from train station but it is only a short cab ride.
Myself and indeed all the members of my group enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is a fantastic place, right at the heart of everything. No
Perfect location, very close to the Uffizi Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio, and Ponte Vecchio. Beautiful room, with lots of luxurious little touches. The view I had was very good. I will forever enjoy the memory of opening my windows to listen to the sounds of Florence below. The rooftop bar was wonderful. The view from the top was great and the service from the bar staff was also top notch. Honestly, this is the best hotel I've stayed at in Italy, and the biggest reason why is the staff. The cleaning staff keeps everything looking sharp and tidy. My room was spotless. The front desk staff was incredibly helpful with any request I made, helping me find a jewelry shop off Ponte Vecchio, getting taxis for me, making reservations and recommendations, and doing it all with a smile and in a very friendly manner. They are the shining jewel of this establishment. The only thing I can think of that wasn't absolutely perfect is the wifi range. In many places, I could only get two bars, but I could get three in many places as well, so this is a minor problem.
Great value. Great location. Very friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. Very nice room!
Florence is such a beautiful city with so much to see and do. Hotel Berchielli is a beautiful hotel, in a perfect location, with a wonderful helpful staff - a very nice place to come back to and relax after a day oftouring.
The location plus how clean the room and bathroom.
The location was excellent, the room was clean, and the staff was great. Breakfast was also superb. The rooms were a bit outdated.
We were a short walk for the sites of Florence from Ponte Vecchio to the Uffizi Museum! Restaurants and cafes were plentiful and the staff was extremely helpful.
hospitality of the hotel staff...
excellent position. Spacious room. friendly but efficient staff no
The luxury comfort and the old world charm overlooking the river. Very romantic with good shopping and great resturants Leaving the hotel
I liked the location. The hotel is beautiful and the people who work there are friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and had all I needed for the night I stayed there. The taxi for the airport was there in 3 minutes. Probably my review should say excellent rather than good. The drain in the shower was slow. I forgot to mention that to the front desk employees. I'm sure they would have fixed that if I had let them know.
We enjoyed the Hotel Berchielli very much. It was located right on the Arno. We literally opened our windows and could see the Ponte Veicchio Bridge. The location was fabulous. We were close to the Uffize Gallerie and the Duomo. The hotel was a little on the older side, which gave it some european charm. However, the bathrooms had recently been renovated and were modern and clean. During my stay I left behind a shawl I had purchased. We called the hotel figuring it was long gone and the hotel had it for me. We were impressed with the honesty of the staff. The hotel also provided a full breakfast buffet on their second floor dining room. Just around the corner from the hotel is the stop to catch the tour bus of the city. Try to take a day trip to Tuscany if you have the time it was wonderful. I would definitely recommend this hotel and stay here again. One last tip... remember to close the shutters on your window while in Italy it will reduce the noise level.
It is my fourth stay. The location of the hotel could not be bettered. The room standard is excellent for comfort. Nothing comes to mind.
The staff are delightful and the setting is superb. The bathroom was dated and could do with being replaced sooner rather than later.
The location is fantastic. The breakfast is very good: nice staff, quick service and good food. Some bathroom amenities were missing (empty boxes on arrival and never replaced), there was not a single free socket to plug in the computer. All in all the room felt like an OK 3-star rather than 4.
I loved the buzz, atmosphere and staff in the fusion/ restaurant bar - I loved the double shower.- Clean sheets every night pure heaven!! Hotel too cold- breakfast poor choice - lack of info re the facilities at sister hotels without asking - waiting for water to come through system ( a bit strange)
Great location , cool hotel, They had a problem with the internet which was not solved while we were there. We were there for business and therefore that was a big problem. I do not think that hotels understand how important is Internet these days. If they have a problem, they should come with alternative solutions. The internet was offered free, which was good, but............. did not work! Hopefully it was just a bad luck.
Staff was helpful and very nice, Willing to help with anything you needed help with. Great location!
The locatin, the service and the room
Very accommodating staff. Very clean and stylish hotel. Great breakfasts and great central location.
Location is excellent and staff were very helpful and nice.
Excellent hotel and very convenientl;y positioned in Florence. Only issue is price casued by the weakness of the pound against the Euro.
A truly contemporary experience that was refreshing after being immersed in the Renaissance architecture and art of Florence. Excellent location right on the Arno. The staff was very efficient if not overly warm and friendly. They were often understaffed (problem with management) with people lined up at the front desk w/ only one young woman trying to serve everyone. We felt well cared for by the hotel, through many email communiques, a beautiful, quiet room, and a lovely bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary. We are in our 50s, travel extensively, and found that the other guests were much younger; acted entitled, and rude. This is no fault of the hotel, just who their clientele attracts....we might try another Lungaro property next time.
the location the service the politness
it was comfortabl
It was a great location The staff were not very welcoming and informative. There was a really unpleasant smell during our entire two day stay. Hotel lacked atmosphere.
This hotel is great, the location is central to everything you need in Firenze. The roof top bar is a great place to have a drink and watch the sun set over the Arno. The staff made our stay even better with smiles, great english and good knowledge of the area. Our first room was small, and luckily for us the hot water did not work and we got upgraded to a room on the 2 floor. One of the best rooms i have ever stayed in.
Location was excellent, close walk to all sites. Great beds and bedding. Stairs in the floor corridor could use railings.
accomodations, staffs, views, location, and etc....everything you could come up with ideas about a nice hotel nothing
Design and style of hotel. Very good level of staff. Location.
Clean, romantic, elegance, perfect I have booked one of your hotel and the others in Vinince through online by credit card, your hotel manager asked for accomodation payment when we leave, the others aggred that we have paid on line, we booked hote online all the time, once confirmed and prepaid by credit, we will never asked for payment when we leave, if so, it should not happen in such stand hotel like you. We keep the cash recipts till our credit card statement to approve "double paid" situation.
The young staff was very welcoming and the location at a place like Florence was attractive. Room furniture was interestingly designed but not well looked after; one leg of the study chair was about to fall off. Wireless reception was practically unavaliable, one had to chase reception. This is not understandable at this time and age and at such a relatively highly priced hotel.
Very nice room, excellent location. Room over Ponte Vecchio was very noisy at night with drunks and football fans performing in the street below, and rubbish trucks early morning. Rooftop terrace which was main attraction was closed as soon as it started to rain, despite being fully covered.
Everything, as usual No
Conveniently located for sight seeying and shopping, good restaurant.
Museums, Galleries, Eating (rather expensive) and Shopping I think you as a Company should make it quite clear when booking as our bedroom would have been very small and it would have been very noisy, if we had not have changed it. It was very expensive for the room you put us in!!!
Location,ambience,service all top notch.
The location is brilliant. The bar very nice. The restaurant Borgo San Jacopo is very expensive and now worth the money but the view at their balcony is brilliant. The service staff at the hotel were quite sour. The standard rooms are very small.
excellent location for week-end travellers, helpfull staff and good standard of comfort and cleanliness
Easy access to my family
great location, nice satff rooms a bit small, elevators too small
Great location. Female desk staff very helpful for English speaking travelers. By far the best view of the city on the double decker patio upstairs with a bar and food available. Male staff. Bed spread and blanket very stained. They have all the right parts, but the caring "feeling" is not there. Difficult access to very small one person only elevator. If you have a lot of luggage, many trips up and down are needed with some stairs too.
1. location was very convenient 2. price was fair 3. internet access was great, when it was worling 4. good breakfast included in price 1. it was complicated to get from the main desk to the actual hotel room. Several levels and series of stairs and hallways (difficult to get up-down and around especially with luggage), 2. I understand the need to pay extra for parking, but perhaps the hotel can affiliate with a parking lot to provide a better rate for hotel guests
Superb location. Well aired room (very efficient air-condioning). Great views over Florence from rooftop. The lift was very small but this did not really affect the suitability of the accommodation.
The roof top deck is amazing.
The service was fantastic and the room was very nice and comfortable. What an amazing view from the balcony of the hotel! The location was perfect....right down the street from some amazing night life/restraunts and easy access to taxi stands and bus stops.
Placing Size - too small
very good location , vale parking possible
The location is great, the views from the roof terrace are amazing. There is free internet (not just wifi if you brought your own laptop). It is halfway between and only 2 mins from both the palazo pitti and the ponte vechico . Also very close to San Spirito and everything is within an easy walking distance. We had breakfast one day and although the all you can drink cappuchio represents good value the rest wasn't amazing and we ate at restraunt bellow the other morning. I can't comment about dinner but I would say that a dinner on the panoramic terrace would be a dinner with one of the most amazing views of florence - I just prefer to dine on one of the city squares amongst the hustle ,bustle and atmosphere of the city.
I loved this hotel so much that I stayed another night. It is perfectly located to the old bridge and many other local attractions. It is small and quaint. The staff was super helpful to suggest amazing restaurants in the area. Rooftop terrance is a perfect place to enjoy coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. And the price was more than reasonable.
The hotel's location is excellent - near to a lot of the most interesting places to see in Florence. Also the hotel itself was very interesting - old & very well kept. The highlight was the terrace with a spectacular view over Florence. All in all, the price asked was reasonable.
Cosy hotel incredibly central in Florence. The staff was excellent. The breakfast was not very good, and you have to pay extra for eggs, cheese and ham/salami
The location couldn't have been better! A wonderful introduction to Florence -- and Italy.
The staff provides excellent assistance, direction and guidance for everything that is needed. Very well taken care of for the price! Location could not be better and more convenient to everything Firenze has to offer!
The location is incredible, right at the foot of the Ponte Vecchio. The rooftop terrace has a gorgeous view, and the common living room, one floor below, is comfortable and welcoming. The bed was rather hard, the pillows were wafer-thin, and there is a flight of stairs to the elevator, so this would not be a handicapped- accessible choice.
Our stay at Hotel Hermitage surprised us. We were not sure of what to expect - but this hotel blew us away, and it's competition, out of the water. Seriously - THE best hotel deal in Italy. Nowhere else can you find such a nice hotel with such a superb location. It impressed us. Room was a good size for money spent, very clean, hotel employees were gracious and helpful, breakfast was just fine - location is fantastic. All in all - a wonderful stay in a wonderful hotel. Very, very, highly recommended.
The location is good. The view is not greatfull and the room is not like showed in the pictures from the website and the breakfast is very poor. This hotel is not four or three stars like showed in the website.
The location, genuinely close to the Ponte Vecchio, is very good, and the hotel has a pretty roof terrace with rooftop views of its part of the city. The breakfast was reasonable but you have to pay extra for meat, cheese or an egg, and the coffee was not great. There was a fair amount of street noise at night. Compared to what we paid and what we received in Venice, Siena and Siena, I thought this hotel was expensive.
The hotel is in a great location both for the tourist sights in the daytime & then over the river to the restaurants and nightlife of Oltrarno. The roof terrace looking onto the Ponte Vecchio on one side and the tower of the Palazzo Vecchio on the other, with the Duomo in the distance, is the perfect spot for breakfast. The staff were always extremely helpful and while the decor may be a little old-fashioned my room was perfectly clean and pleasant and had a great view overlooking the Arno.
The staff, convenience, and that it was quaint and clean the blowdryer was like a vaccum and didn't have much power, but that's common for Italy I guess. The loud parties going on next door somewhere kept me from sleeping.
Excellent location, beautifully peaceful roof terrace, elegant hotel, helpful staff. Disappointing breakfast-the optional extras not worth 3 euros each as above
The hotel staff were very helpful and accommodating; we have stayed there before and would do so again. The location is fantastic! Breakfast is a little less diverse than at other hotekls where we have stayed -- a pretty minor concern.
Price, location and use of Hotel La Scaleta facilities. We could have breakfast there and there was a great roof top terrace. They also had free internet.
This place is the best for "The location" to see the Uffizi Museum, 15 mins ;hear " Ole Sole Mio" and other romantic serenades till late at night on the Old Bridge.Onto Rt is Grocery store 5 mins walk to, take bus D to and from station ; do buy the bus card for the day, we used it to go to Fiesole, see the setting sun over Florence. On request the staff here was kind to book the Uffizi tickets for us in advance , Euro 14 and we just walked in without the queue.and were out in 2 hrs, trust me worth the expense .Cheerful staff . There is an indian curry restaurant turn left onto the str walk 50m ,to the right a str, walk 50M .. delicious. Not really their fault the AC packed up on the weekend , so two nights went without it, could have given a reduction for the inconvenience !! Nice people to deal with.
The view from the bar was spectacular
the room was fair size, staff was friendly, internet and phone were available, room was quiet had to cross a street to see hotel staff or use internet
Everything - we have stayed there many times before
Location, friendly stuff, and price. I wish shower room was little bit cleaner and they will offer to change towel and sheets everyday. However, for the price, i understand
Dissapointed there was no breakfast as advertised as B&B, but nice cafe opposite. The Views from the roof terrace of Hotel Scarletta made up for this. Would have liked tea/coffee facilities and an Iron in room
Free appetizers and roof bar Directions from train station to hotel were terrible. Impossible to find, wasted over an hour tryong to find it. Please fix.
The hotel made me feel that i am living quite some years back in time though it was a very comfortable stay. Rooms are very private and in a very quite enviorment although location is in the city centre Lift too small and not user friendly
The hotel had been sympathetically restored to it's original grandeur of a 15th century Palace which made it an amazing hotel to stay at.
The loggia was a perfect place to enjoy a drink before dinner with lovley views and a cooling breeze. A fraction of the price for drinks on any of the Piazza's, quite a treat The stairs with a heavy suitcase, the lift didnt go to to floor we were on
The location was excellent, and it was an "authentic" building, not a modern, boring hotel.
The atmosphere was homey and the staff were very helpful and friendly. The Breakfast was wonderful as was our server. The location was perfect.
Very unique. Largest hotel room we have ever stayed in. Excellent comfort for a 500 yr old building. Maked us feel like royalty. On the bedside table was two sets of earplugs. Only needed one as my wife is very hard of hearing. This was a sign of things to come. Our room was on second floor, close to the action. The partying goes on til 2-3 am, but thats normal for all of Italy. I got used to it!.
Nice and big hotel room. Staffs are friendly. There is one young lady who can speak English fluently. We enjoy our stay here. Wifi internet is free of charge but you have to come outside of your room to the common area in order to get the signal. Hotel's location is a bit far from Train Station. In the hotel website, it said that Bus Line C will take you closed to the hotel. In fact, there is no bus line C. There are C1, C2 and C3. Each line will go to the different route. We suggest to use Bus Line D (Bus Stop is right in front of the train station. The bus looks like Mini-Bus in Orange Colour) and get off at Cirello stop. Then, it will about 5 minutes walk.
Close to the city center but not in the hubbub of the tourist part of town. The staff was extremely helpful and accommodating with all questions and requests. They also serve a good simple continental breakfast which is just enough to get your day going. And there are excellent restarants and dining nearby as well. Room was very large but felt more like a hostel setting. The antique furniture made the room appear dated, stodgy and bare. However, the bathrooms were roomy and newly remodeled allowing for soaking or shower preference after a long day exploring Florence. There were two single beds pushed together to form a larger bed and one of the mattresses was a little worn out with an indentation which accounted for restless nights. Considering we were just sleeping here and not spending a great deal of time in the hotel, this is a great value compared to other hotels in the area.
It was in a central area of Rome where you could wallk to most attractions. The rooms were clean. A good breakfast was provided.
