Kinlay House Hostel

The hostel was an average Dublin hostel, non=commercial, full kitchen, camp style push button shower, common area, older, tea service, no lift. It was almost empty, and shut down due to a covid 19 lack of guests.

I booked there, for the bank of guest use computers pictured on booking.com. I needed to use one. They though, are falsely advertised. The reception said they'd not had computers for a long time, and a couple Samsung tablets, full of chatting were available. This was not sufficient or secure. I'd not booked this hostel if I knew better. I found Generator Dublin and another also, don't have the computer(s) pictured in their advertising. I hope booking.com can improve it's site.

Took 3 phone calls to get my deposit back

We asked to be all at the same bedroom, what was attended.

The bedroom was small with no space at all for the luggages or private and secure space like a locker for important things (what is very common for hostels to have). When you turn off the lights of the bedroom at night, a green emergency light appears and makes impossible for you to sleep!!! There is no toilets inside the room and the room was in the man area of the hostel, so as a girl the toilet that I could use was really far from the bedroom. The shower has a good space, but you need to continusly press a buttom to have water, as it's not open/close buttom as every shower in the world. What, as a girl with long hair, made me had a really unconfortable shower. The staff didn't care to gave us a notion off what to do in the city, neither the hostel had any type of program for the guests (again, is really common for hostels to have something programmed for the guests). It was a really bad experience and we decided to leave early!

The place smell bad, the staffs aren’t nice, there was a lot of noise in the room, the place was really cold. The sheets gave me itch, the breakfast was poor.
