The view from the balcony side was amazing, especially in the evening when you could see down to the plaza (Santa Clara) with events - free fado! It is a short walk up/down the hill to many eateries and attractions and not far to walk from the train station. It's compact, but clean, has a great shower and is suitable for a family on a short stay.
The street noise/fado venue/bar go until very late on the bedroom side, and with the bright lights outside, it is not really possible to leave the shutters open. Luckily there was a fan! You can hear the upstairs neighbours walking around, which might be a problem for light sleepers. Stairs may be an issue for some, as well as the steep hill to access the apartment.

It had no lift, climbing the stairs with suitcases was difficult, the sofa bed in the living room was not that comfortable and the shower only had water for 1 person

Overview
Apartamentos com Historia is made of self-catering studios in Coimbra's historic area. The recently renovated building offers amazing views over some of the historic landmarks of Coimbra and is right next to Santa Cruz Church and Monastery. Each unit is modern and features and equipped kitchenette, allowing guests to prepare their meals. There is a bathroom with a shower and the bedroom area includes twin beds. Some have a terrace and a compact outdoor pool. Guests are within walking distance from Coimbra University, and several dining options can be found in the surroundings. Coimbra Train Station is 7 minutes’ walking from Apartamentos com Historia. Both Santa Clara-a-Velha Monastery and Portugal dos Pequenitos Themed Park are within 15 minutes’ walking from the Historia Apartments.
