Horrible customer service in Santa Rosa
Pros: I was surprised how nice the Ford Focus was
Cons: Customer service representative at pick up in Santa Rosa could have cared less. I asked for a drop off in on place and he put another on the contract without telling me. It was very inconvenient. I called to complain and there was nothing they could do and they offered no help or restitution

Pros: The agent at the Santa Rosa Ave. facility was phenomenal. He tried to change my flat tire and got me a different vehicle when he realize we didn't have the key to unlock the Lugnuts on the Volkswagen.
Cons: I rented my car at the Santa Rosa airport facility. A walk around of the car was not done. I was handed the keys and told the car was out the door and to the left. It was dark and there was a huge parking lot to my left. I had to press the door lock on the key fob to even locate my car. The next morning, I had a flat tire, so could not return the vehicle on time, after waiting two hours for roadside assistance and eventually canceling it. I was charged an extra day and a late return fee, which I was assured would be refunded. I tried to call the manager at the Santa Rosa airport facility, but could never reach a person. I was repeatedly transferred over to the national reservation line, where I was treated rudely and abruptly buy all four agents I spoke with. The final one, was the worst. I asked to speak to his supervisor and he told me that he was the supervisor. I was appalled at the treatment and the service I received. In desperation, I finally called a Hertz agent at the Santa Rosa airport, knowing the counter was directly adjacent to the Budget counter, and asked that the Budget agent call me. I never received a call. I will never rent from Budget again

Not very happy with my rental experience
Pros: The counter agents were very nice and the cars are super close to the terminal.
Cons: There was a very loud clunking sound that came from what I assume was the transmission. It was disconcerting - I was afraid that I would be stranded 25 miles north of the airport. Also, I guess I should have been more knowledgeable, but I was charged a whole day rental fee for being 30 minutes later than the time the counter agent reminded me that I was turning it in. He did not mention that that was beyond the "grace period" The person to whom I gave the contract didn't say anything - the charge just showed up on my credit card.

Not Clean, Not Clean!!!
Cons: The car seemed as if it hadn't been cleaned from the last occupant. I found paper wrappers and other detritus in the back seat and trunk. The windows and side view mirrors had been poorly cleaned and were a big distraction driving on the road.

Pros: The pick up was smooth and quick. The car was so cute and worked great for me. Had plenty of features for an economy car.

Cons: Budget did not have a full size SUV as reserved. The woman at the counter was only interested in upselling me to a Mercedes SUV. She offered me a "fantastic deal" of only an additional $85/day rather than $165 extra/per day because they didn't have the car I reserved available. I wasted almost an hour at the budget counter and there was no resolution. I ended up walking away and renting from another counter.

Car smelled a bit, but it was a good value.
Pros: No drop off charge.
Ease of rental location.
Cons: Car smelled a bit like bad b.o.
Vehicle seemed a bit cheap.
Pros: Extremely nice, attentive, and helpful staff member at the Sonoma County Airport terminal/ Hertz counter. He was even able to make a change that the phone-rep couldn't.
When trying to make changes on the phone earlier, the rep was very kind and tried to help as much as she could.
Cons: The car had some minor damage, which wasn't inspected or logged by anyone as we picked up the car. This was never a problem, but we felt the need to take photos to be sure.

Cons: I made a reservation. I called to ask a question and the woman who answered the phone said oh we don't have any cars today. Corporate is completely over booking us. it's a good thing I called or I would have shown up there to rent a car and been told they have no more cars.

Cons: We never got a car. I was told they rented all the cars to others and did not have one for us. I called to tell them we were on our way and they could not find our reservation. Then they found it and said they couldn't find it because I put it in my husbands name. We both have the same name. Worst experience we ever had. We needed to get to the airport.

Was not told extra charge would apply to drop off.
Cons: Poor customer service in not insuring I understood office would be closed and airport office would charge for intercity drop off. So 24 hour rental was not 24 hour and rental cost 30$ more than if I had just rented from airport from the start. Agent had plenty of time to shoot the breeze about cats

The customer service was outstanding !!
Pros: Lisa was the associate who handled my car rental agreement. She was very personable and extremely helpful. I will definitely come back to Hertz again when I need to rent a car.

Pros: I called Hertz to ask a question about my car reservation and they said there was NO reservation. I have filed a complaint with AMEX. I want my money returned as Hertz said they did not have a reservation and I was forced to pay for a MUCH more expensive option.

so disappointed with the Santa Rosa facility
Cons: I have a serious problem with a facility that has no phone or internet. Hertz has a makeshift location now on Santa Rosa ave that has no way of communicating with their customers. Also how can hertz allow you to make a car reservation after 12 noon on saturday when the facility isnt even open??? I reserved a car and when I showed up the front doors were locked and no one was inside. The hours were put on the window as closing at 12 noon.
Pros: Enterprise called me within 30 minutes of making the online reservation to tell me they were out of cars.
Cons: No cars were available for rent.

Pros: Pick-up attendant was very accommodating after we realized that I had accidentally selected a different location.
Cons: There was a discrepancy at drop off related to whether I had accepted liability coverage. I was told the pick-up location would call to resolve it and help me get an accurate receipt. That has not happened and when I called their phone number, I am unable to get through to anyone
