A small bay where we could swim without waves - a rare place on the entire coast from Cancun to Playa del Carmen. Good food, comfortable rooms and efficient and kind staff.
A huge and very crowded and noisy complex (restaurants, beach and pool areas, etc). Late check out is very expensive - US$50 per hour
The location is nice
Staff is not as nice as other hotels’ staff The food is not good Room has bad smell I would not come back again.
I love the location of this resort. It's a big resort with all the amenities of a big resort but somehow has a small resort feel.
There could be better lighting in the bathroom and the food is just not anything I'd ever rave about. I realize that when you stay at a large resort it's hard for them to be able to serve great food because of the large number of guests.
It’s got great views and the pool area is super nice. The breakfast is good, and the location of the hotel is close to the main attractions bars and other nice places of the Cancun hotel zone.
The restaurants despite having a lot of variety lack taste and waiters are overloaded so orders and drinks can take time. Our room wasn’t properly checked when we got there and had at least 10 flaws including tv not working, drainage smell in the bathroom, balcony door lock not working, lights out, etc. System down when checking out so problems having our deposit back. In general We felt the staffs attitude wasn’t always the best.
The "buffet" restaurant El Mercado was surprisingly amazing. Not like a traditional buffet - there were stations catering to all food types with "made to order" items as well. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were all great. Kids loved having the option to choose their own items! The nightly entertainment on the main staircase was also surprisingly good - both my kids (ages 6 & 4) loved it.
The candy store looks amazing but does not taste great (however, the kids didn't care/notice). Also, the service was *horrible*. We were lucky to get anyone's attention at the pool each day. Once we finally had someone wander by and we tipped, then we got better service. DEFINITELY tip big and right away if you want attentive waiters outside. We were disappointed you had to get your own food if you wanted to eat by the pool. The wait for the "food truck" was long so try to get there right when it opens or when the line dies down.
