Grand Oasis Palm

The location was good, right near the port for the boats to Isla Mujeries. It is a resort designed for families with children. Our daughter liked the pools. The adults were able to get drinks in a timely manner.

During the day, we found bugs in the shower. That was bad, but one night one of us got up to use the bathroom, and there was a huge amount of cockroaches and bugs in the shower. It was disgusting. Our toilet also clogged up three times. They said they fixed it, but it kept on happening. After a day or so, we had to use the public restrooms in the common areas, and there were signs near the toilets telling us not to put toilet paper in the toilet. I guess even toilet paper clogs up the toilets. I don't think it's too much to ask to be able to flush toilet paper down a toilet without it getting clogged up. The beach was not the nicest beach that you would expect in Cancun. The only time we went in the water was to use the resort's kayaks (which was nice, but there wasn't far you could go with the kayaks). The only times we swam was in the hotels pools. The food at the buffets was not good. I am not a picky eater, but after a day, the only thing that I was able to eat at the buffets was the plain rice. The rest was warmed over and flavorless.

Liked the location but too many kids.

The food was terrible. Some staff nice. Some not so nice.

I sent an email to the Manager and I never got an answer.

All inclusive

I called the hotel 2 months before the arrival to make sure about age policy for children and they gave me a WRONG information. They said the policy for children is up to 18 years old. But the receptionist said I had to pay extra for a 14 years old child. I sent email to the Manager and he never gave me any response and I still waiting. Besides, Getaroom.com offers on its website the reservation with 17 years old children policy. So confused and disappointed.
