Extremely dirty. Unclean pillows and mattress. Not washed bathrooms.
Bathroom was pretty small.
Receptionist clerks responsive to questions and pleasing traveler. The bathroom shower was excellent. The heating unit in the room was noisy. The breakfast was skimpy; commercial granola bars, oranges, bananas, coffee from machine (all impersonal).
The bed was too firm. Had a hard wire around the edge of the mattress. No Iron, No Microwave, No Fridge. The shower was tiny.. really small. Not comfortable at all.
The TV and shower are excellent as is the location of the hotel. Knowing how expensive downtown Boston hotels are, I appreciate being able to stay in the heart of the city at such a low cost. Sadly, the staff isn't very friendly. They always act like they are doing you a favor if asked a question or reporting the elevator malfunctioning!!!!
Rooms were clean, Staff pleasant. Nice gym. Love the security card elevator feature. Should be in all hotels. Elephant castle is always pleasant. I didn't like that my room didn't have an ironing board & safe. In my opinion those two should be a no brainier & standard.
Location, price. The air exchange in my 11th floor room was intermittently noisy. I could not sleep. The staff put me in a different (and slightly larger) room the next day, but were not particularly apologetic. They seemed indifferent.
Free bottled water and fitness equipment delivery to your room were nice perks. Walls are thin.
The hotel looked nicer online to be honest. The staff were pretty great. House keeping was really good with fixing the room after i called about the bed being dirty. They left a nice note and some snacks/drinks as well. The TV was really nice. Our room was not very well kept. It was dusty, the bed hadn't been changed I believe, the sheets and pillow case was dirty and hairy, and the bathroom smelled like ciggaretes and was kind of dirty. the room was better than a motel so it wasn't the worst, just a little too pricey for the kind of quality you end up getting.
- Simple check in and check out procedure. - Some complimentary amenities in the morning (free coffee and fruit) - Good location for business - Not the newest facility - could stand an upgrade for the carpeting, floors and bathroom - Communal iron and other in-room amenities takes some getting used to - Not recommended for families traveling with children as there's nothing for them to do on-site.

The location was perfect for seeing almost everything in Boston. You ar eright in the centre of things yet it is not noisy like some hotels right in the hub of town. 2 things - No coffee maker in the room...thankfully coffee shops were close by...and having to pay for Internet in business centre
Cleanliness, bedding. I really missed a coffee pot in room and thought wifi should be gratis

I actually like the location, since it's a little quiet. It's clean and hip and the staff is not in your face, but always helpful when you need. It's a tasteful place to stay.
the hotel had an excellent location in the middle of town and right across from quincey market and all sorts of historic places also near the water. I did not like the colors in the room, not really funky and stylish
The location was great especially in proximity to public transportation. The decor was simple and comfortable. The noise coming from the hallway and room next door was somewhat bothersome. The lounge on the groundfloor became a night spot on the weekend and guests are continuing to party going back to their rooms. The acoustics in the lounge were very loud as well.
Walking distance to all central Boston. Fantastic location Shower is a glass box dividing the bed room and bathroom. Perfectly ok if you're into that sort of thing
Centrally located, nice comfortable rooms. Breakfast available starting at 6am. Not enough in room lighting. A second mirror in bathroom would have been nice.
Location Value Room size Quiet heating/cooling system Staff The blinds. We had an interior room with the window looking out into the hallway. No big deal except that they used a $15 Wal-Mart blinds on that window and had a blue light in the hallway that was on all night long. The room was bright...all night long. If you're a person that is at all sensitive to light in your room at night, this may be a deal breaker. If you're management reading this, put up some blackout curtains or turn the stupid light off at night! This was my only qualm, otherwise it was a great place.
Room and hotel were nice. Location was very loud. It was friday night and the noise outside did not stop until after 4am (car horns, loud drunk prople, police sirens). We literally got no sleep due to the extreme noise.
Very clean, modern look, staff was friendly and helpful. Unable to block out light from the street with blinds. No on site parking available. A better discount on local parking garage would make this hotel one of the best affordable stays in the city.

Location was great close to everything. Price for the location you cant beat it Parking was a block away and it cost $32 with there discount.
Close to work, comfortable bed. No in-room coffee, very weak shower stream, no breakfast buffet, no desk, AC that blows right on you, lights that are impossible to adjust.

The staff was wonderful, very polite and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The beds were quite comfortable. The room was nicely spacious. It is a lovely hotel conveniently located for the tourist. The appointments were a little less than expected considering the expense/level of accommodation. Nothing major. The furniture was sub-par - the drawers didn't close well, the closet door light weight. The phone lines did not work. There was on-going remodeling work to which the trouble with the phones might be attributed however the issue was not resolved within our four night stay.
We loved our stay in Boston! This hotel was situated right in the middle of downtown within walking distance to mostly everything! We had such a great time. Staff was extremely kind and helpful, especially the doormen! I will definitely stay at this hotel again next time I go back to Boston!
Service in the hotel bar. Ordered mimosas while we waited for our car. 4 different waitresses came over to get our order (after we'd already placed it). 10 minutes later, still sans mimosa, I asked one of them if they were coming. As it turns out they won't serve alcohol before 11 AM. Probably something worth mentioning when someone orders!!!!
very clean, nice room, fantastic staff heat in room was uncontrollable. had AC set to 60 degrees with windows open and it was stifling hot in the room all the time. literally sweating thru the night.

We enjoyed the Hilton very much! The rooms were extremely clean and cozy. The Location was ideal for enjoying the night life however.... when we were trying to sleep it was extremely loud. We heard people throughout the hotel all night and everything going on outside the windows. Otherwise everything was wonderful!
Great location. 0.2 miles from fanuiel hall. Next to a pub and across the street from a restaurant / next to Howel at the moon and walking distance to aquarium, restaurants, bars and harbor... Everything costs money... Parking is $51 extra per night. Wifi is $40 extra per night... King Rooms are tiny... Staff isn't friendly... Hallways are dark... Some valet people are rude, others are absolute dolls... And the lobby is depressing and sets the vibe for the rest of the hotel... Couldn't control heat, felt like cold air was blowing on us all night.
It was incredibly functional--I stayed in a clean, nice one bed room and for my needs it was perfect. The only thing that didn't quite work was the fact that I was relying fully on public transportation and it is a solid walk from the closet T stop. I could do it, but if you have kids, or ladies, if you're wearing heels, plan to take 'em off to get there!
Awesome staff. They helped a lot with restaurants and hot spots of Boston. They asked if I'd like a spacious room.. I got a regular one oddly shaped. They had construction going and woke me up with drills and hammers at 730am both the nights I was there
We only stayed for one night, but this was the perfect location. Easy walking distance from New England Aquarium and Faneuil Hall. There was a loud commotion outside from one of the area bars at 2am that continued for 20 minutes. I could hear it from all the way up on the 11th floor
Stayed here twice. Both for location. Room rates are pricey but you are in the midst of downtown Boston. The in-house restaurant was serving a $20 lobster dinner special which was fantastic. Valet parking is easy and staff is very courteous. There is an extra charge for valet at $49. Again very pricey but if you are staying for a few days it evens out. The room was a standard king that was comfortable, clean and spacious enough for two. We were provided a mini fridg gratis. The usual outrageously overpriced mini bar is present along with bottled water priced at the level of alcohol. Several newspapers are available free. Apparently the hotel is undergoing updates to its TV and wifi system. That's not a problem but there was no information provided at check in that it was happening. That is a problem. The TV acted up at start up and the wifi was cantankerous. Booting you off and causing you to sign in again and again. Quite slow also.
Location was great. Everything was in walking distance. Room was clean, bathtub and shower was fantastic. Room was a bit small, balcony was not a real balcony - very small step out balcony! A bit pricey for the size and amenities.
Loved the location, the amenities and the service. We've already booked our stay for next year! difficult to adjust the temp in the room - trying to cool the room meant the AC was on full blast.
Regulars at their restaurant, our first stay was all we needed. Handsome, friendly, warm lobby area; helpful, attentive staff. The in-hotel restaurant is actually very good -- and has a great bar area. The staff that delivers items to rooms are very friendly, speedy folk. Hotel is under renovation in part, so there are inconveniences until completion early next spring. When we were there, some desk staff are "in training" and not exactly use to speaking in English (!). The door-staff/valets are very helpful.
Location is great for exploring Boston - but if you don't want to hear the late night crowds at Quincy market-make sure to speak up. The wine list in the restaurant is extremely overpriced and unfortunately I was served a bottle of wine that had not been stored properly and had turned. The bartender didn't agree but had the manager bring me a new bottle. That bottle was better than the first but still not tasting quite right-but we kept it because it was too much of a hassle.
Excellent location to view all of Boston by foot. We had a wonderful stay and would stay again.

We walked to Fanual Hall, and Aquarium.. Shopped. Went to a Red Sox -Yankees game ( Sox won A bit pricey. But hey .. Its downtown Boston

Clean room and lots of amenities. Great location and easy access to pretty much anything. We used point for the room. Cost is pretty high, so if considering cost with other hotels others could be a better value.
The whole hotel was impeccably clean...wonderful. The room service was super fast. The location is close to so many great things in walking distance of hotel! The maid service was terrific; very friendly and thorough. The internet was fast - once you got on it. For a luxury hotel, internet connection is typically included in the price of your stay. As a Marriott rewards member I was surprised it was not free...apparently I was not at the right level. The parking was overpriced - one member of our group parked and $51 a day was extremely high. The cluster of cars, buses, taxes etc at the entrance was poorly managed. Pedestrians were at risk, guests at risk, and children at risk - there did not appear to be anyone in control of the flow of traffic coming in an out of the entrance area. High risk.
We love staying at this hotel. We had a great view of Quincy Market and the city landscape. We like being close to the North End. Our room was clean and comfortable The hallway on our floor was a little dirty. Used glasses and dishes placed outside of rooms waiting to be picked up along with some spilled food on the rug.
Staff permitted us to check in early. Excellent Location.
The location cannot be beat if you want to be close to Quincy Market/North End/Downtown. Also, all the rooms are suites with a spacious living space. This is also a historic building so be sure to browse the museum quality displays throughout the lobby and hallways. Don't miss the observation deck!! Bathroom was tiny - I understand wanting to have access from bed and living rooms but that doesn't really work in a 'smaller than average' hotel bathroom. Take out the big dining table, change to a drop leaf and steal 6 feet to expand the bathroom. Btw, if you are a light sleeper, request a high floor.
We really enjoyed our stay at Marriott Custom House during our recent family vacation to Boston. The location is ideal and the villas provided plenty of space for everyone. The observation deck was fun and we went up there several times during our stay. We would definitely return to the Custom House again.
