The location is very central making it easy to get anywhere. breakfast is in a gorgeous winter garden-type room and the selection is very diverse. Staff were always helpful and accomodating. I was on the first floor and there didn't seem to be a staircase that I could take to go one flight of stairs. It was annoying always having to wait for the elevator (which was insanely crowded) for such a tiny distance. Also, no gym which I expect in a hotel of this size and class.
The location Furnishing of the rooms
the room booked was'nt the same room that was shown on the pictures
Just about everything
very good location
Location Friendly/helpful staff Clean Comfortable bed Decent shower Had to take two lifts to get to our room
The location is ideal for a stop overnight waiting for train connections The room was nothing like the pictures, very small and out dated decor. Right next to the unsurprisingly very noisy train station and the walls are very thin so you can hear everything going on next door. €6 for a bottle of water is nearly the same as an Ibiza nightclub.
Outstanding location. Excellent staff. We would use it again and plan to have FREIND's stay there in August
Good colours, style of reception and breakfastroon was pleasant, fireplace at receiption were really nice. No fitness room at the hotel. Wholefloor carpet is not same style than other things. Corridors ugly.
Everyone was very harkoful and we loved our stay hope to come back the bed was fabulous Excellent 10/10 Nothing to complain about
The hotel was well located near the central station and around the corner from the main shopping streets. They charge extra for the use of the steamroom. €10.50 per person is outrageous when you have already spent alot to stay in a Hotel that is only average for the money it costs.
The location is perfect, walking distance from the train. We also walked both days from the hotel through the neighborhoods to the museum district and back. The breakfast and cocktail receptions were an added benefit.
nothing Had booking confirmation in-hand. Manager asked a ton of questions, asked me to email her the confirmation, wasted a half hour till she finally told me the reservation cannot be honored because their reservation system was already closed, meaning they overbooked and refused my reservation after I already showed up at the hotel. They wasted my time. They were rude. They tried to blame me even though all i did was book online. They provided no assistance in getting a different room in the city. Awful experience. BE CAREFULL ON BUSY NIGHTS, THEY OVERBOOK.
Very central location, a few minute walk from Dam square. We had a superior double room, which was spacious and very nicely finished. The bathroom was also very nice. For breakfast, there is a wide range available - cooked, pastries, breads, fruits and yoghurts etc etc.... Room was located on the ground floor which meant it was a little noisey - but you can't have a central location and no noise!
2nd stay, had a bathtub this time ++ Central location. Clean. Cheap. We couldn't have a smoking room, even though we indicated a preference for one. The rooms all seemed to have been renovated with hard flooring which made adjacent rooms a lot more noisy.
The best things in the hotel are the free minibar, the location and the helpful concierge employee mr.Roel Smits. Overall my staying in the hotel did not meet my expectation (I expected more for what I paid).
Location is very good. In the heart of the city. Few minutes walk from the dam square. Breakfast is very good and not too expensive. Air condition is not working in the room. Business rooms are in another building across the street. Rooms are small and not too comfortable. Parking costs 55 euros per day The room is expensive comparing to any other such an hotel in Europe. I was expecting much more...
I liked that the location was farther from the tourist areas but still within easy reach of anywhere in Amsterdam you might want to go. Great bar nearby with fantastic patio area called Meneer Nieges. The nearby Jordaan neighborhood is wonderful to explore, especially around sunset.
Room was spacious and bright. Bed was comfortable. Room had odd shaped useless bedside tables. Counter was the only shelving facility in the room. Not enough for toiletries, phone/charger, wallets etc. we ordered dinner in the room and had no where to place the dishes except if we removed our stuff or ate on our laps. Most uncomfortable design. Hotel was located 15 minutes away from the charming city hub (on foot). Overall it didn't add any good impression to make it worth returning to.
The staff was very cooperative The room was very small
The check-in staff (those specific two) they were great fun and welcoming and the cat. The hot (cold!!!) water in the morning and the explanations received at reception (i.e. a once off incident) not true. Every morning same issue all week-end. The lift- you can age 20 years waiting for it.
Everything was excellent. Beautiful old world charm, large spacious room, staff was outstanding in every way with help on questions, places to eat and see and making reservations. No
Location, interior design, breakfast, coffee/cakes, most staff Poor window, let in a lot of street noise, with what we paid for 2 nights (c.€380) they could buy a double glazed window (about 4 ft by 3 ft) which would be a big benefit for future users of the room. While most staff were friendly, the receptionist we mostly dealt with was businesslike/efficient rather than friendly. (my wife might use different words!)
The staff are fabulous! Hotel has wonderful history. It was the home of Rembrandt's Nightwatch. The location is very central to all Amsterdam sites. The breakfast is incredible. It is one of the best places I have ever stayed!
Location Rooms are far too small for that price. Poor furnishings, tiny bathroom, no concierge, place is in dire need of an update
Made to feel very welcome. Very helpful staff
Quite well located, only a few minutes by metro to the central station. Clean hotel with nice facilities and quite good and varied breakfast.
Very nice, staff was very helpful and professional.
Great location - couldn't be better!
This was a fantastic place to stay. I would recommend it highly. Convienently located near the train station and cruise boat landings.
Good location close to an event we were attending Television service limited and very poor reception. Shower was a bit low and cramped.
